I came to Dilla Libre Dos with some friends. It's a pretty casual spot. Service was a bit slow but they seemed understaffed at the time. I can excuse that though because WOW it's maybe some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered the chickpea chorizo burrito. It was so well flavored. It had rice and beans as well as the chickpea chorizo, alongside some veggies. I really appreciated that they had an extensive vegan menu. I will definitely be back to try other items!! Only con to me was that the salsa was not my favorite, but it was still delicious!
This spot was recommended by our Uber driver so we decided to give it a try. We were a little confused on where the entrance was initially but we found our way in. The restaurant is small and well-decorated and service was friendly and fairly quick. We visited on a Thursday which happens to feature happy hour all day! We got $3 off a pitcher of beer and the carne asada nachos ($13, usually almost $20). The nachos were very good with plenty of toppings spread throughout the dish. We also ordered a churro which was delicious!
Heard good things about Dilla Libre and finally stopped in for some food! I got the steak tacos and they were delicious. The salsa was also yummy. I skipped on the side of beans and rice as it's black beans (I love refried beans but that's a personal preference) There was only one server working on a Saturday (Valentine's Day), but he was very friendly, helpful, and did a great job keeping things running smoothly. Parking is very limited with a small lot, so that's something to keep in mind. Overall, a good experience with solid food! Definitely will be back to explore some more items on the menu.
Handicap parking right in the front. Service. I was greeted by Austin as soon as I stepped in. He was friendly and a great waiter. There was another gentleman that was a waiter also and was super friendly. I think this is the best customer service ive had in years. Food. Wow it was fresh hot and delicious. I also ordered the happy hour nachos but ate them before I got to take the pic. The carnitas dilla was absolutely perfect. I asked for extra crispy and it was great. The chips were fresh. Salsa a little hot for me but that's because im a wimp. Plus a great place to watch football.
Right off the top the service was 10/10 I forgot my servers name but I can honestly say that he was the best ever! I stopped by during happy hour and ordered a couple of house margaritas from the happy hour menu. The margarita is normally $11 but for happy hour $9 is still a bit pricey for me. The first basket of chips and salsa are free or get bottomless for $4 I ordered The California quesadilla and I'm glad I did. I didn't expect the tortilla to be crispy and cheesy but in the best way!
Stop scrolling and make your way to this restaurant! Amazing food and excellent service! Isaiah greeted us and was the best server/host we've ever had. There are 2 menus..one vegan and the other is for the carnivores in the group. We enjoyed the quesadillas (All Thai'd Up and the Chickpea Chorizo). Both were excellent! Sweet tea was delicious. Great ambience too. Fun murals and great music. Will be back.
I really enjoyed this fusion of Mexican and Thai food! Thai is my favorite food to get out, so it was fun to try! You get chips and salsa at the table, which I love when places do that. The salsa was good! I got the Dank Herb Shrimp Dilla as a burrito, and I would highly recommend it. The sweet Thai chili sauce with the beans and rice in the burrito was perfect. I also got the horchata, which was the best horchata I've had (I haven't had much, but still). The service was good and the vibe was fun! I would totally go back, but keep in mind you'll probably spend at least $17-$20 per person.
Came to Dilla Libre for lunch during our trip to Phoenix AZ. The restaurant opened at 11am and we were one of the first customers there. The place was nice and clean with both indoor and outdoor seating. The weather was nice so we decided to sit outside. They have a variety of different tacos, and we ordered the chipotle chicken, shrimp and banh mi, my favorite was the shrimp taco. Unfortunately they don't have flour tortillas, but the corn tortilla was just as good. And the free nachos were really good was well.
Dilla Libre is an excellent option for Mexican food in Scottsdale. It's located in a standalone building and has both indoor and outdoor seating. The wall art and decor is tasteful, and certainly adds to the ambiance. I love their daily specials, and our visit happened to coincide with both Taco Tuesday and happy hour specials. They have a full page of vegan food options that the kitchen is happy to modify to vegetarian options. The complimentary chips and salsa (4/5) were appreciated as a decent beginning to the meal. We started off with chicken nachos (5/5) which were among the most flavorful nachos we've had in a while. For meals, we got a variety of tacos and a chipotle chicken quesadilla. The tacos (4.5/5) were all very fresh and flavorful. The chipotle chicken quesadilla (4.5/5) was among the most unique I've ever had, with caramelized cheese on the outer edges. The only minor thing I would have liked is a spicy chicken option over a chipotle sauce to add spice/flavor, as there was a tad too much chipotle sauce for my tastes. The side queso dip (4/5) was a bit muted on the spices, but otherwise good for dipping chips and adding on top of other food items. Service was a one-man show, but very attentive and friendly throughout the meal. Overall, Dilla Libre was a highly satisfying late lunch option at reasonable prices, so I'd be happy to return and recommend a visit to others seeking Mexican food in a place with nice decor.
Overall a solid 4.5 in my books! Visiting from elsewhere and surprisingly dilla libre is conveniently near where I was staying so I had to give it a try! Only one server managing the entire front of house but was very friendly and efficient! Ordered some Jamaica which was very fragrant and not overly sweet alongside a Banh mi bowl (pork and rice), carne asada tater tots (must try), some tacos and the free chips were a nice compliment! Very generous on portion sizes and definitely a place worth visiting if you're in the area!
Welcoming service and tasty (not knock-you-over, but tasty) food at reasonable prices. The room and patio are comfortable if not in any way fancy. The menu is remarkably varied; this is one of those amazingly rare places that can make vegans and . . . how do I say this . . . regular (?) people happy. And every person in our family group (half "regular", one vegan and one vegetarian) were happy with the food and the service. I'd go back, for sure.
Food was amazing. Service was stellar. We went during a Thursday Happy Hour and there was one man handling the whole dining room and he was great! On it with refills and suggestions. Even showed what some of the meals looked like as they came out to some guests unsure what to order. The place is small but welcoming. The chicken chipotle quesadilla was something I would come back for. (Huge vegan menu options also)
Was out in Scottsdale on the way to a New Years Eve party and we had a hankering for some good tacos. I've hit up Dilla Libre once before for their quesadillas and loved them so we shot over here to check out their tacos. The place has such a cool and chill vibe! Due to the occasion, it wasn't very busy (which we were hoping for a quick stop). The patio outside is super chill and the inside has lots of flare. The service was excellent and the staff were really friendly and conversational. I went with a Chipotle Chicken Taco, Carne Asada Taco and Papa Verde Taco!! Loved all of them, but the Chipotle Chicken was my fav! It was soooo good!! On a scale of 1 to 10, there will be future visits to Dilla Libre, I 100% guarantee!

I know this place is known for its quesadillas, but they have absolutely AMAZING tacos here. I only got to try two but both were phenomenal: the Banh Mi and the Chipotle Chicken. They were packed to the gills with filling, had really inventive flavor combinations that worked really well, beautiful sauces that enhanced - not covered - the flavor of the meat, and ... they were HUGE! Don't sleep on the side cucumber salad or the elote either, both were delicious. Finally, each of the 3 house-made salsas were really tasty and fresh. The people dining with me got quesadillas and raved at how they were encrusted with crispy cheese. I've never seen that before and it looked soooo good. There was only one fellow serving and slinging drinks, but he crushed it, managing to cover every table in what was a busy, but very relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. He kept everyone happy, and being a real delight in the process. My only point of sadness was that they have 7 types of tacos but you can only get an order of 3 of the same. That's not so easy for someone who wants to try 'em all like I did... but for that you just come on Taco Tuesday when you can do just that. I'll be back real soon, Dilla Libre! read more
Our second time was a bit less amazing than our first time, but still pretty solid. We sat outside and the service wasn't great. I had to walk inside and order at the counter. Afterwards, they were more attentive. The chips and salsa were still 10/10. Honestly, that can make or break a place, and that def makes this place. My daughter came along this time and got the kids dilla and it came with fries. It was plenty of food for her (age 10) and it was $8. I got a vegan dilla with tempura cauliflower and peppers. It was a lot. I like a lot of flavor, but I wish the cauliflower was cut up more and not deep friend. It was just too giant and a bit greasy. I usually chop mine and roast it. Makes an excellent dilla filling. It was spicy and gooey and for sure good, but the cauliflower could use a little work. The guacamole and chips wasn't worth it. The guac needs a little work. Maybe add in some red onion or something. It just didn't taste as amazing as it does when we make it at home. read more
Looking for tacos prior to a long drive, Yelp delivered us to Dilla Libre. Kinda hard to access, but once you're in, you're golden. Sadly - once we entered the cute space we were hit with the overwhelming smell of trash. It was BAD. But, we persevered. The chips, salsa and guacamole were phenomenal - really amazing! The daily special agua fresca (Dragons Blood: pineapple, coconut and strawberry) was so good we ordered another to go! (Bonus points because you keep the mason jar it's served in!) The carne asada was ok - nothing special; we regretted not going with the carnitas. By the end of our meal we had acclimated to the smell (not sure if this is good or bad). read more

This was my first time sitting in the restaurant rather than taking something to go. I got the Dank Shrimp Quesadilla with a side of their mango salsa. The dilla I would give a 7/10. The flavor was good, but I wouldn't order it again. I did get the All Thaid Up to go and that is AMAZING. 10/10. Their chips tasted on the verge of being stale but between their charred tomato salsa and mango habanero salsa helped mask. Both sauces 10/10. Sounds like they are changing up their menu next week so they were out of some of their usually happy hour drinks. Ryan the server was as prompt as he could be. He was the only server when I walked in around 4 on Friday and there was a party of at least 8-10 adults with their smaller hooligans running around. So total party size closer to 15 or so. Once I walked in, he had another 4 people show up. Super personable and helpful. The inside is whatever. Has about 8 tables or so. Nothing to write home about regarding decor or ambiance. 4/10. The biggest perk I didn't realize is they have an outdoor patio that is dog friendly! read more
If you love quesadillas then this is the place to be. Their gourmet quesadillas are super delicious. A variety of options to choose from and so far the I love the Hot Chick and the Napaleon Dynamite. The fresh cut fries are so delicious. If you're vegan they have an entire menu of vegan options just for you. The food is tasty but way overpriced for what you get. I was craving a burrito and wanted to try. A chicken burrito is $15.50. There are a lot of options in the area and I officially have given up to Dilla Libre. The guy who worked on a Wed night was nice and food didn't take long. But for this place to be a hole in the wall type of place the prices are not worth it. read more

Don't waste your time or money coming here. Never been so disappointed in a place. Service was the worst. Our guy seemed frustrated and rude. Then he lighted up towards the end. We had to get up at least five times to get things such as refills of water, napkins, utensils and plates to share the appetizers. They brought out a couple of appetizers but didn't think of providing utensils, plates nor napkins. We ordered the street corn and it was definitely not good. Pretty much tasted like canned corn with some sauce on it. They are known for their quesadillas and mine was alright. Nothing to rave about. I definitely will not be coming back. read more

Dilla Libre's vegan menu is phenomenal - the dillas, burritos, bowls, tacos, apps, etc. The service was really great and we love sitting on the patio with the newly painted mural. Highly, highly recommend this place. If you're looking for some good a$$ Mexican food at more than reasonable prices, come here. The portion sizes, if you opt for the bowl version of a burrito, are enormous. Easily 2+ meals. I ordered the Chicken Dilla - got the bowl version - and it was delicious. It looked amazing on top, and I was about to finish eating since I was getting too full, and I realized there was a mountain of rice and black beans underneath everything I didn't finish! It was like Christmas morning lol. That's why I said the bowl version could easily be stretched over multiple meals. My friend got the potato quesadilla and a side of guac and she loved her dish as well! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was decent and the food came out really quick. ALSO, they give you free chips and salsa, and the salsa wasn't too spicy which I appreciated. 10/10 would love to come again! read more

If you have a big party it may be good to call ahead to let them know as there aren't too many tables around especially around dinner time when it gets more busy. read more

BEST guacamole I have ever had! Hands-down life-changing! Must get! Drove by this place on my way to an appointment and thought it looked really cute so ordered to go on my way home. I got the chicken quesadilla, which is more like a quesadilla pocket...different than anything I've ever had, but it was good. 4 stars but with the guacamole on it, 5 stars! Got my husband the Napoleon dynamite burrito, just okay, way more rice than meat. Super cute restaurant, seat yourself, beautiful outdoor colorful shaded patio courtyard. Delicious! Best "hole in the wall" Mexican cuisine. One side offers traditional options, while the reverse side offers vegan versions of favorites. I wanted a rice-bean-pico de gallo-guacamole burrito. The extra spicy salsa and chilis. So good, I think I ate some paper! Nice server. Will definitely be back. read more

Such a fantastic find on our first night in Scottsdale. My husband and I were starving after our drive from San Diego and saw the positive reviews of Dilla Libre. I give this place props for having a fun menu specializing in quesadillas, burritos, tacos and having a dank vegan menu to boot. We were given a complimentary basket of chips with a side of smoky but not too spicy salsa. I then ordered the elote and a side of tots while the hubby ordered the California Dilla with a side of beans and rice. The Elote was superb, perfectly charred and topped with cotija cheese and a spiced creamy sauce with cilantro and lime. The tots were crispy, salty and you'd think I was eating them like a bucket of popcorn because I devoured them so quickly. The quesadilla was a fat boy stuffed to the brim with a cheese skirt made of crispy edges. It was filled with tender carne asada, fries, pico, guac, cheese and black beans in addition to a small side of chips and salsa. The side of beans and rice were just as delicious. Everything served that night was perfectly seasoned with every layer. I ordered the dragon's blood agua fresca which was gigantic and served in a massive mason jar that I got to take home. Be patient folks. Businesses all over the country are doing their best to provide excellent service, quality food and to make you feel at home. The gentlemen who helped us was also the one taking phone and table orders, pouring drinks in the bar, ringing people up, packaging to go boxes, cleaning tables and making time to take care of the customers. Food is nothing short of exceptional. We had the elote, vegan cauliflower bites, cali burrito, shrimp bowl, and thai chicken bowl; all of which I can recommend as they were all really good. While on a bachelorette trip in Scottsdale over MDW, one of the girls took the liberty to have Dilla Libre catered to our house by the pool. The person who brought our food was super friendly and set everything up for us perfectly. It was packaged and wrapped in a way that it was easy to spread out and easy to store when we were finished. The actual tacos were amazing. Three proteins (chicken, steak, and pork) were served with corn tortillas and an array of toppings including salsa verde, OG salsa, pico, guac, onions, chipotle sauce, cilantro, and limes. We also orders two gallons of margaritas and they were super refreshing after a day out at the pool! This meal was probably my favorite from our time in AZ and one of the best taco bars I have come across! read more

Some of the best tacos I've ever had in my life. And I've had a LOT, from taquerias in CA, CO, WA, OR and the Yucatán peninsula from Isla Mujeres to Tulum. The Bahn Mi tacos have such a complex flavor profile - I had to stop and just appreciate the flavors. The elote was SO GOOD!!! The shrimp taco was really good as well. So many great flavors! Come prepared to wait! They are wicked understaffed for the volume of customers. We came for dinner at 7pm on a Friday and there was only one server for a full house (plus take out orders). They were out of margaritas and we went through 2 baskets of chips before we could even order! All that said, the food was awesome. We ordered an assortment of quesadillas and the lucha ensalada (which was my personal favorite). Solid food if you aren't in a hurry! read more

"Dilla" stands for quesadilla, if you didn't know! Dilla Libre offers gourmet, fusion quesadillas as well as tacos, bowls, and burritos. I have to credit bf with this find as it had been on his eye for awhile! Although DL is on the smaller side, it's hard to miss the colorful mural on the side of the building. There is parking in the rear. As it was 8PM on a Saturday, an hour before close, we didn't have any issues parking. The interior of the restaurant is cute. There's luchador belts hanging from the ceiling and framed photos on the wall. Menu is on display at the counter as well as paper menus/QR codes on the tables. Bar is located in the back of the restaurant. We had a hard time deciding between all the creative, fusion dillas. The Napoleon Dynamite and Bahn Migo are some of the most ordered dillas according to the staff. Elote, $6.75: I must have skipped over the part where the elote is roasted on the cob (as opposed to served in a cup) which is actually how I prefer my elote. Glad that the elote was actually roasted, however, felt the size could have at least been the full cob of corn for the price. California Dilla, $14.75: The Dillas here are a LARGE size; easily sharable for a couple or save for lunch/dinner the next day. They are served with a side of chips. Definitely a good, strong carne asada but there wasn't as much of it as there were black beans :/ Of the two that we ordered, I preferred the California Dilla. Bahn Migo, $14: LOVE the concept of fusion!! The pulled pork was flavorful and just the right amount of saltiness that was balanced with the pickled veggies. If you're looking for a cheap/classic quesadilla, look elsewhere. Otherwise, if you're looking to try something new and creative and the price point is right, DL is your spot! Definitely worth checking out at least once! read more
