My ONLY drawback is that the prices are insane - not at all correct for a quesadilla of small portion. It's delicious and the vegan options are great. I've been to multiple locations and the vibe is good, service is great. I like the Nacho Libre Quesadilla - it's yummy. I really wish the prices were better because that is the major drawback for me. I go where the churros are. And thankfully so. This was one of the best meals I've had in a while and certainly some of the best tacos in quite a while. I ordered online and pick up service was super easy and I appreciate that they verified I had my entire order (I ordered a LOT). Everyone I got was incredible! First time at this location as we always go to the other one. There's a small parking lot and they were pretty slow during lunch on a weekday. Service was good and the food was on point. We got the vegan Californian dilla with regular cheese. Big enough to split and still be full! I always enjoy their chips and salsa. I know everything is expensive these days but I just wasn't impressed - overpriced for the amount and quality of food. We got nachos but they seemed to be store bought chips and canned queso with a small handful of meat. The portion size was nowhere near what they were charging (almost $20?). We were the only ones in the place when we arrived but it quickly became busier. After we finished our food - no one came by to check on us. After a while we flagged someone down for our check to find out you pay at the bar? Our server didn't tell us that in the beginning or ever. This place is so delicious!! If I lived closer, I would be there all the time. The location is a little tricky to turn into off of Thomas and easy to miss the first time, so map it out ahead of time if you're not sure. The small parking lot can fill up quickly, too, so just know that ahead of time. Dilla Libre specializes in gourmet quesadillas. They have a vegan menu and a carnivore-friendly menu. I love their dank herb shrimp dilla. It is large and very filling. I recently tried their takeout for the first time ever recently, and was glad that the quesadilla was served with their terrific chips and salsa. My boyfriend raved about his steak and bleu quesadilla. The menu is huge. They also offer tacos and nachos, but I haven't tried those...yet. There is a cute patio for outdoor dining. Discovered Dilla Libre at Phoenix magazine's "Best of Phoenix" event. Dilla Libre was there as a vendor since they'd been voted "Best Quesadilla" and "Best Margarita." Think about that. Those are two pretty major categories to be "best" of in Phoenix! At the event, they didn't have their quesadillas but they were sampling their margis (generously mixed with tequila) and they were damn good. I spoke to the employees and they were so kind. I knew I had to make the visit to their Scottsdale location. Despite living pretty close, this location is a hidden gem. You can't really tell what it is. Is it a residence? A store? A restaurant. I love how the entrance is in the back parking lot. The interior is much larger than I expected and I'm eager to sit on the patio once the weather cools down a bit (say a 100). Being my first time in the restaurant, I kind of misordered. For example, I ordered chips and guac but I didn't really need them as the quesadilla was so filling. I wasn't a big fan of the complementary salsa but they have dozens of others that you can order. Quesadillas are the star of the menu here. They have SO many kinds! I was tempted to try the Thai-style one but another Yelper mentioned that they found the sauce too sweet. Not really the flavor that I'm after with a quesadilla. I went with the spicy chicken with the extra hot sauce and I was satisfied. Again, the quesadillas are filling and in retrospect, I probably could have split one. Solid Happy Hour menu (daily from 2-6; who doesn't love an early Happy Hour?!). The margarita was just as good as the one I'd sampled at the event. I also ordered the OHSO IPA which was really nice. Even though we arrived about two minutes after the end of Happy Hour, they gave us the deal on the margarita. The interior of the restaurant is bright and I loved the art that adorns the walls. Frida Kahlo is the star at Dilla Libre! I noticed a lot of takeaway orders as well. The employees and their generosity are what makes Dilla Libre a standout. read more

I finally got up and went and asked one of his coworkers if he could wait on us. He barely acknowledges me and then proceeded to also NEVER come over. Both of them were acting really weird and it turned out they were playing Pokémon or something on their phone. Long story short after 20 minutes a bowl of chips and salsa. We walked out. Dilla libre is such a quirky, fun spot. The vibe is really funky, the service is friendly, and the food is really solid. Definitely worth a stop if you are craving Mexican food in the Scottsdale area. Pros: Ambiance: The layout and decour of Dilla libre is really cool. Old mirrors, a grand piano, WWE belts hanging from the ceiling, motivational quotes-- it really is hard to put your finger on a theme here, and I love it for that. Somehow it still all works! Outside, there are some pretty dope murals, as well. There is plenty of space to sit, and upbeat music and throwbacks playing inside. Overall, a colorful and fun experience. Food: The food here is really great-- obviously the star item is the quesadilla, however the tacos are also really delicious. I really enjoy their salsa and guac as well. Pictured is the papa verde taco! Service: Service here is friendly, fast, efficient and accommodating . Drinks! Do yourself a favor and get the Horchata! It comes in a HUGE portion, and is really delicious-- amazing cinnamon flavor without feeling sweet in an artificial way. Also served in a really cute, large mason jar that you can take home with you. Honestly a highlight of my experience. Vegan menu: Dilla libre has an extensive vegan menu in addition to it's regular offerings, featuring plant-based meat products! This was really cool to see, as a vegetarian myself. Definitely a place you can bring a vegetarian or vegan to ensure a large selection of options. Deals: Happy hour deals here apply to both food and drink, and are a great way to save some extra $$ in the afternoon. Other: The food here is high quality, so don't expect to pay fast-food prices! I would also say that the chips that we purchased to-go recently were over-salted, even my partner, who loves salty things, thought that they were too salty to eat-- this was our only real criticism of the food, though, and it was likely a one-time, random mistake! Vegan reviewer here! I stopped in for lunch mid week for my first time after hearing about a killer vegan menu and I'm glad I did. My boyfriend and I chose to dine in and was greeted and told to sit where ever. They have a patio facing the main road, a main dining room and what looks to be a bar in the back corner. We received complimentary chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. Their house salsa is smokey and delicious. I ended up ordering more because it was so good. We decided on the half order of carne aside fries for an appetizer, I got the chickpea chorizo dilla with green chiles and my boyfriend got the protein bowl. Shortly after our appetizer arrived and was huge. It had a fairly good amount of beyond meat on it and the fresh guac and salsa was a nice contrast. I honestly couldn't even imagine getting a full order. My dilla came out and WOW it was loaded and crusted with cheese. The flavor was on point and they gave a generous amount of fillings. I could only finish half. My boyfriend was happy with his bowl. It was really clean and the rice tasted authentic. The pumpkin seeds added a new element to the burrito bowl. We both couldn't finish our meals and needed a box. All together the bill was about $35 with tip included. I loved everything so much I came back a couple days later and got the vegan bean burrito and was glad I did! It was authentic tasting and huge. This place is amazing! It's like a quesadilla on steroids, and I'm here for it. First, it's open seating and the atmosphere is interesting and fun. My boyfriend and I were instantly greeted by the server and offered menus and a drink. I was served the best glass of sweet iced tea I've ever had! It just had to be mentioned! Next, the food. We ordered a green Chile quesadilla, carne asada tacos, and rice and beans. It was SOOO GOOD. I'm not a fan of coleslaw in any form, but it WORKS with those tacos. Next, we tried the quesadilla. Talk about comfort food central! It was just enough of a bad thing. I can't wait to try more of them! Beans and rice, also excellent. One major thing I noticed about this restaurant is the use of ingredients for flavor, instead of just throwing salt in everything. It sounds like a crazy concept, but it's nice to find a place that relies on quality ingredients for the best flavor experience. This place does not cut corners. Had the carnitas and the bahn mi quesadillas, wife had the bahn mi tacos from the vegan menu. Throw in the queso, friend who had the dragon's blood agua Fresca, literally nothing was not amazing. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted. My husband and I used to come here all the time because it started off so great, the last few times we've come here they've made the order wrong, there were gnats and flies in the margaritas, and now we've encountered worse. We ordered today for the first time in maybe a year, thinking that maybe it'll be better now, but no. Today was the day I found an acrylic press on nail in the food. I got about halfway through my order and saw the nail. We're currently waiting for the manager to call us back. If you eat here, eat with extreme caution. And as you can tell from the photos, this press on is to small for my fingers and I have purple gel on. 24 Hour update (7/18/2021): We have not heard from the manager yet, I called the restaurant and left a messages requesting a call back. 7/19/2021 Update: We still have not heard back from this restaurant. We've left two voicemails, we've now taken matters into our own hands. I've reached out to my bank to, who will contact the restaurant. 7/23/2021 Update: I've received confirmation from my bank that they've contacted the restaurant, and I have been issued a full refund for this order. At this point in time I still have not heard back from the restaurant. 8/5/2021 AM Update: As you can see the business owner (which signed as a different name then the account that commented), has commented on my review about the hygiene policies for their staff, as well as they have as of today just seen my Yelp review. Please note that I put in photos of my fingers showing my nails compared to the nail found in my food, and we have NOT HEARD BACK from the restaurant directly (via phone call or message). I find the comment left by the manager of the restaurant rude and petty, if it came from a facility they used for their ingredients you'd think that they'd notice. I used to eat at the food truck regularly (years ago), so I was pleasantly surprised to realize this was the same. Much bigger selection at the restaurant, of course, but still the same high quality. At the food truck I got hooked on the All Thai'd Up Quesadilla so when I had the chance to get a to-go order, of course I ordered that here, and also got chicken chipotle tacos and chips and salsa. Still great, and my wife and I enjoyed the tacos. Family ate the chips and salsa so I can't comment, except to say that I didn't get any, which probably says all I need to know. read more

The service here is exceptional and it has a great vibe. The food, though, is different for the sake of being different, and proof that new or different aren't always better. I went on Taco Tuesday, so I was able to try three of their $3.50 tacos. They are tiny. The carne asada didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked, and although it was less tough than most Phoenix-area taco joints, it was far from tender. The Chipotle Chicken was not so good. The aioli tasted like barely modified mayo. The Banh Mi is a mismatch of flavors. I know many reviewers on here raved about it, but maybe this is why the Vietnamese didn't invent tacos? This place is about a 30-second walk from the less cool but much better and cheaper Chispa's. read more

Oh my goodness that was a quesadilla! We came here on a Tuesday night... not busy but boy was it delicious! I ordered the house margarita for happy hour ($6). They do a yummy salt and sugar rim. My husband and I each ordered two tacos (their specialty tacos are $3 each on taco Tuesday) and they were all delicious! The meat is a bit dryer but not too dry. We really enjoyed them. The house salsa that comes with your complimentary chips was a bit bland. We ordered a california quesadilla to share and holy cow was it massive! I had heard these things were bomb so had to try.
