Came here during this festival and parking was chaotic. This is located inside a Vietnamese mall. The food prices aren't too bad and the portions are nice. The had a sale where it's 7.99 wonton soup. So worth it. The Beth is light and the veggies were crunchy. The wontons had flavor. I give it a 4.1/5. The shu mai looked like they were on steroids, i got two batches and it was worth it. I can eat about 4 batches to myself, but 2 individual ones almost had me full. They were better than some dim sum places. 5/5. The rice noodle with shrimp was a disappointment. The noodle was just super sticky and bland. The shrimps were baby shrimps. The sauce was good. 2.7/5 The soup dumplings were good, they give about ten of them and they were all packed with soup. Definitely worth it. 4.5/5. The piggy buns had egg custard instead of red bean so it was nice. I wouldn't get it again but I give it a 3/5. The service and ambiance is super fast pace. Not bad service either.

Came here Saturday noon, since there was a festival going on. First time at Asian Mall, the parking is pretty chaotic. The food area is located in the 1st floor, and the staff did not seem pushy at all like the rest of the clothing vendors around the mall. Instead she was patient with us because it was our first time. You get what you pay for of course, cheap dim sum, for okay taste. Hong Kong style soup was on sale that was good, very light in broth and our dim sum was still warm. The line was not long at all, maybe we just got lucky. I read the line can be long. My kids ate their food, so can't complain. Not a fan of the piggy buns, tasted dry. The shrimp rice roll was clumpy and not much flavor at all. The Shu Mai were huge, and tasted favorable and the soup was good. The soup dumplings were okay, at least it had soup in it.

We ate everything it was so delicious!

We chose this place as our lunch spot today because I had to get an oil change close by and needed to kill time. It's located in Asian garden mall and ambiance was not too busy. My daughter LOVED the food and together we shared the steamed buns, sui mai, and ha cao. The lady working was very nice & kind!! 3 dishes+drink for $20 was a steal! We will come back :)

New drink/dessert very tasty highly recommend . Only $6. I prefer to eat the gelato separate and sip instead of mixing the two. Just my preference

Orange County just keeps upping their dim sum game! We had delivery after finding a two for one special and it was delicious! Definitely recommend the meatball soup. I enjoyed it so much I didn't even share with my family!

Best Asian drinks, desserts, and Cantonese food. So tasty. The owners could tell that I was Vietnamese and then I spoke to them in Vietnamese.

If only I read the reviews before order this. the meat is dry, dimsum is cold, never ever again

The vendor was pushy, food was alright. The Vietnamese coffee was very enjoyable. Not a place I will go back to.

    Three pig dumplings

Customer service is very kind! I love their custard pig dumplings. I love it so much, willing to go again :)

Amazing food and amazing service. Pork Belly skewers were BOMB. Good vibes. They even hooked us up with some free food!

    Piggy Bun

The "Little Pig" buns have an adorable appearance, and their filling is slightly sweet--exactly the flavor I enjoy. The BBQ buns feature a wonderfully soft and fluffy exterior, while the filling strikes a perfect balance between savory and sweet; they are the best *Char Siu* buns I have ever tasted. The meat in the *Siu Mai* is delightfully springy and chewy, with a flavor that is just right. will come back again.

    Wonton soup

This place is very good in my opinion. Beside dimsum items they have Com ga hai nam and wonton soup. Thai tea is great too

Located inside the Asian garden mall, once you enter from the north entrance it's on your right hand side. Decent dim sum food to go at a great price! Usually there's a line whenever I visit Dim sum bistro. You can order from the menu for more specialized items. The taste of the food is just okay but very appealing to the eyes. Depends on the day you go; sometimes you'll get fast customer service or have to wait a while. FYI - weekends and Asian new years/events they tend to get super packed. Parking can be hectic as well on certain days.

I was able to try them fresh in the car and they were good and way bigger than I expected, but the Chinese sausage buns, which were the most expensive at $66! were my least favorite. There was so much extra breading that I ripped most of it off and tossed it, and the sausage was a bit dry. It was barely 10 am on a Saturday and the restaurant was completely packed. Turns out, it wasn't nearly as crowded as before - though spoiler: the price has increased a lot (I want to say it was $25/lb 10 years ago, and now is $37/lb). Keep in mind too, you can't get a small amount like 1lb - usually it's gonna be 3+lb so your bill is easily going to hit mid-$100 to $200s from the lobster alone. That being said, many people swear this is the best, and that's why they can charge whatever they want. I'm actually allergic to lobster (lol) but am a team player so I just sampled it for the funsies, and had to get another dish to actually eat (went with the beef lok luk). My family said the lobster noodle was good, but not like, fantastic (which we were expecting not fantastic but yeah, mostly came here to a family meeting.) The beef lok luk was also pretty good like, 4.3 of 5 - we just had another version at Paradise which was astounding (like 4.6) though also more expensive and pretty far away. Overall, not sure if we'll come back again as we're more curious about the copycats that have popped up which might be 80% as good and much more affordable. Stay tuned! :)

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Capital Seafood Restaurant opened at 11am; the wait was well worth it. All three of us loved it. There is a decent size dedicated parking lot just for the standalone restaurant, so was able to find easy parking. We were greeted immediately and directed to a circular booth, giving the three of us plenty of space. The inside space looked recently renovated, with a dedicated banquet room, and two dining hall wings. Hot complementary hot tea was brought for all, and ice water later when I specifically asked for it. Service was excellent throughout. The menu is a book, with the first two pages dedicated to a large lunch menu. Here it doesn't come with any additions (i.e. no soup or egg roll), but white rice is included and served family style. What it does have is a large selection (a whopping 53 different items), including some items I've never seen on a lunch before, all for $13.50. The menu is displayed on the first page (27 items) of the menu book, with the standard vegetarian, chicken, beef, or pork dishes. But by turning the page, one gets to another 26, this time mostly seafood. Many of the items caught by eye. L36 -Ship with Garlic Sauce - it came with big jumbo headless/shell-off shrimp, using a dark pungent sauce that I really liked. Vegetables were green and red peppers, red onions, and a lot of wood ear mushrooms (which I really like). It's a dish I would recommend, especially at this price point. L53 - Pan Fried Whole Fish - didn't really expect much from this, but asked the waitress what type of fish (was expecting tilapia or sway). When she answered 'flounder', I had to try it....and it was much, much better than I expected for the lunch price. It was a WHOLE expertly prepared flounder, with a crisp batter that I enjoyed, and a sweet delicate meat. It came with 2 sauces (soy based, sweet/sour), more for the batter. It was served immediately after it had been prepared. I really loved it, and felt it was a bargain for the price. 90- House Chow Mein HK style ($17) - a disk of deep fried chow mein, topped with a mixture of greens and different meats (including shrimp), in a lighter sauce. It was served immediately after preparation, which allowed us to choose if we want to eat the noodles while still crispy, or let the sauce soak in. Portions are not huge (even for the normal menu item like the pan fried noodles), but very appropriate for the prices. The three of us were able to finish our meal, with no need for take home containers. Soda is only provided from cans ($2.75 each) and I got a bottle of Tsingtao for $5. The check was brought to the table, with a 3% service charge for use of credit card. I enjoy doing a little research about the history of a restaurant like this. On a preliminary scan, there are multiple restaurants with the name of Capital Seafood in the LA/OC area: This location (with the original name of Capital Seafood, having domain of capitalseafoodgg.com) was founded in 1996 by immigrants from Cambodia, and recently was taken over by the original owner's son. There is a different restaurant (also named Capital Seafood, under the Capital Seafood Group in Irvine) running 3 Capital Noodle Bars in Irvine, Costa Mesa, and Brea, along with a Capital Seafood Restaurant in Irvine. This group seems to be related to Kim Tar (a SGV restaurant founded in 1982 in Monterey Park), signifying that they are using those original recipes in their restaurant. This location doesn't seem to be operated by that group, instead run as a separate restaurant. There is also a New Capital Seafood Restaurant in Rowland Heights, which doesn't seem to be operationally related to either one, though most likely branching off at some point. The only thing common seems to be the 'Capital' name (and the assumption that the owners/operators are probably related).

Wanted fresh live lobster and this place had the best price per lb. To give you an idea, Kings Fish…read moreHouse was $67/lb, the other Capital Seafood at Irvine Spectrum was $45/lb, and this place was like $28.99/lb. So we made the drive to Garden Grove. What stood out to me over the Capital Seafood in Irvine was the much friendlier service and the 90s R&B music in the background which was cool. Got the Lobster with house special sauce, Roasted duck with steam buns ($50), and Sautéed Pea sprouts veggies. * The lobster was definitely the star but just know the sauce is very buttery so may try a lighter sauce next time. Also still needed to crack some pieces so hands got really dirty (4/5) . * The duck was unfortunately too dry and tough and skin not so crispy so I will prob skip next time. But portion was good. (3/5) * The peasprout veggies were good and had a nice crunch but needed a little more salt. (4/5) Hot Tea was smooth, seating comfy. Only thing it was freezing cold and they should prob drop the AC a few degrees. The white girl server was super nice and always checked on us. Overall good experience and will be back.
