Came here on a Sunday. Party of two seated immediately. Service was quick! Venue is good for groups. This place reminds me of good authentic Chinese cuisine. We ordered the house special lobster, beef luc loc, and pan fried noodles. The lobster is based on market price. It was $32 per pound when we went. Smallest lobster was 3.5 lbs. They actually brought the live lobster out to show us before it was cooked! Poor guy didn't stand a chance! (Sorry don't mean to offend anyone). The lobster was fresh but a bit on the Spicy side. So if you can take the heat! This was a win win! My favorite was the beef cubes - dipped in salt pepper and lemon - sooo good over white rice. Trust. My hums and loved the pan fried noodles... crispy and fluffy. Just like me. Overall good experience. If you're ever in Westminster and craving Chinese food - they won't disappoint!!

First time here and the food is so comforting. I order teo chew seafood clay pot, sautéed Ong choy, house special pork chop, and fish with black bean. Everything that we order is very authentic and delicious. The ingredients that are using is very fresh and very flavorful. The hot jasmine tea has smooth taste and little bit of bitterness. Balance out the heavy meal. The service is fast and the waitress is very nice and attentive. The restaurant is clean but I can smell the cleaning chemicals around the dining area. Overall it's a good experience and definitely will be back!!

Hours: Mon, Wed-Sun: 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM Tuesday: Closed Came here around lunch Lunch dishes are 14$ a plate. I was craving salt and pepper pork chops hence the name "salt and pepper," but it was more SALT than anything. Overly fried and excessively salty too much fish sauce. We ordered mang cua soup but were initially brought a different soup, which was later clarified. The house special chicken and basil clams stood out as the better dishes with more balanced flavor. Although there were small hiccups. The waitstaff were attentive and responsive to our requests. Our plates and a teacups was dirty, which was gross . Coffee was average, mediocre at best, dragonfruit lemonade was not too sweet so a plus for that. Overall, an average experience with a few highlights, but some inconsistencies in seasoning, order accuracy, and cleanliness. ‍

We paid $8 for this, an oil with no chilies, and 1 tbsp of spicy sauce.

Food is ok. But when we asked for spicy sauce, they brought out 2 small spicy sauce, one is only oil. And the bill came out, they charged $2 for EACH PERSON, there were 4 of us, and they charged $8 for for 1 tbsp of spicy sauce and 1 tbsp oil that we couldn't eat. It's not about the money but this is a scam.

Came on a Sunday evening. Parking was easy and my party of 10 got seated immediately. Service was great quick, kind, and fast. It took me many years of coming here to finally perfect my order that everyone loved no notes. - House specials shrimp add garlic noodles 5/5 MUST if you get anything order this the shrimps are huge and this dish is so much better than lobster bc you don't have to pry it out of the shell - Honey walnut shrimp 4/5 could use more flavor I dip it in sate and soy sauce - House special fresh squid 5/5 my favorite crispy salty flavorful (you can also get noodles under this) - Fresh squid with salt and pepper 4/5 could be more flavorful but just as for more salt pepper and lemon on the side to dip it in - Pan fried whole fish I don't eat fish but ordered for the family if you like fish get it as it's always a first to be finished - Kung pao chicken 5/5 always a must so tender and flavorful - Sautéed peasprouts 5/5 needed veggies - Sateed ong choy 5/5 daily veggie intake needed and done - Pot of white rice 4/5 rice is rice it is needed for all this salty food Everyone left happy and fully highly recommend my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area.

This is our first time there and we really enjoyed the food and the service was great. Not sure why there are bad reviews on the service but we were seated promptly and the food came out fast and they check on us often if we needed anything. We really enjoyed the green beans w garlic sauce and the steam fish was fresh and delightful! Everything tasted great and we would definitely go back again !

I was brought to this spot for a celebration with close friends. There are plenty of Chinese family restaurants but I got to say this is hands down on my top 3. The taste of food is always on point. Always taste the same everytime we come here. I'm very big on having family dinners and this one right here is my new to go. Just like many others this one gets packed so get here early ! The staff members are always helpful to make sure you get everything you need. You know it's serious when you see statues outside of the restaurant ! 10/10 !

You know what they say, if the service is bad, the food is going to be good haha! And yes some of the servers were a tad rude here and there but we came for the lunch specials. Service wise, to reiterate yes they were a little rude but got our order correct. It takes them a while to get water like what some other review said and you can see some of the servers bickering and getting mad at each other too but whatever. The main point is the food and is why we initially came here. Our go to spot seafood port closed down and we've been trying to find a nearer spot to replace that. And so far it got the approval of my dad because he's the Chinese food connoisseur and he said compared to other Chinese spots, it's sweeter and has a lighter flavor and made him question if they even use MSG. But let's say the lunch special portions are worth it! And we will be back for it. Aside from that. I also judge places based off their bathrooms and it was pretty clean but I did notice that the soap dispenser was broken... and I wasn't going to dip my hands in that soap. So brings me to question them, are they washing their hands after use? Food 5/5 Service 3.5/5 Bathroom 2.5/5

Solid Chinese/Viet restaurant, complete with glass turntables and hot jasmine tea! I like this place a lot, I think it's homely and nostalgic. The servers are kind and very hardworking. Flavors are big and garlicky! But big flavors also come with a lot of sodium, so you'll be knocked out for the rest of the day lol. But it's worth it if you're willing to take the plunge :)

Not authentic canto flavors. This is definitely different from all the other capital seafoods. The taste and quality is not good. It's passable, just below average but would not return. The noodles were cooked but hard in the middle, the sprouts didn't have that garlicky flavor. In fact non of the dishes have the signature wok hei smoke. The fried rice was also just ok, felt like they didn't know how to do a proper cook on the egg or rice. The honey walnut shrimp had no sweetness, the salt and pepper squid's batter was bland and thick. No flavor in the squid and even pouring the extra salt and pepper that came with the dish, it added no flavor. Didn't give red vinegar/white pepper for the fish maw soup. We asked for chili oil and they said they ran out. Lol... what? Service was OK. No wait on a Sunday night. 100% would not return to this location.

Absolutely Terrible Service We have been wanting to try this spot FOREVER... we're regular Seafood Cove goers/ Peking Gourmet goers. Yet finally trying Capital Seafood was the biggest disappointment ever! Worst service I've ever had in my life. My son spilled a small glass of water, four staff walked by and did nothing ... no napkins... no refill... no help... yet they constantly checked on other tables. Restaurant wasn't busy, felt rather slow compared to their long lines they usually have to be seated. Yet we still waited forever for two items. You even have to pay for steamed rice per person. Seafood Cove would never.. Ordered House Special Lobster w/ Garlic Noodles, but it was overly peppery & lacked garlic & butter. Kids couldn't even eat them because it was too spicy/peppery. Sucha bummer if that's truly their house special because we love house special every where else & here wasn't even close to that buttery rich taste you usually get from house special items. Even their salt & pepper pork chop didn't hit the mark the way it does at some of our other go to spots. We had to flag someone down to ask for water, which mind you was half way through our meal before we even received any drinks.... when we finally got water, they brought only two glasses... but there was FOUR of us... so ridiculous. So we had to ask for two more. Between being ignored, getting food we didn't enjoy, and long waits, this was beyond disappointing.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in OC. Service can be slow if you come during peak times, but the 'House Special' dishes here are winners. We ordered the squid, fish and string beans lunch specials -- 3 items for $40 including a bucket of rice and hot tea (but no soup). Their House Special Squid is better than most Italian restaurant fried calamari and most Chinese restaurant salt & pepper squid. *Note* This is not the same "Capital Seafood" in Irvine or Monterey Park -- different owners, different food, different ambience entirely. Also FYI- their lobster price is $29/lb

Along with that, our table also ordered: the quail with sticky rice ($20.99), salted fish and shrimp fried rice ($24.99), shaken beef with garlic noodles ($22.99), bok choy with sautéed garlic ($12.99), a hot tea ($4.00), Coca-Cola ($5.50), a mojito ($15.00), and a margarita ($15.00). With tax ($17.71), our ticket was $209.16 before gratuity. The NOLA Grilled Oysters come sizzling on a hot griddle, with four different fillings, four pieces each, for a total of 16 oysters. The price might seem a bit indulgent, but not if you consider the effort and ingredients that go into this presentation. Each type was flavorful, and there wasn't a single one I didn't enjoy. The salted fish fried rice was an interesting experience. I enjoyed the dish, though the salted fish was less salty than I expected. Someone in our group, who usually doesn't like salted fish fried rice because they find it too salty, actually liked this version for its milder flavor. The plate also includes four large shrimp. The shaken beef was tasty and tender; the garlic noodles were al dente and had just enough garlic--not excessive. The sautéed garlic added a smoky, nutty taste to the bok choy. The quail was marinated well and tasted good--but I wonder if it was fried just a bit too long. After this meal, I chatted with a friend who lives in the community. He'd been to this spot before but dismissed it as just another seafood boil joint. After our conversation, though, he said he'd be willing to give it another shot. I guess your impression of this restaurant depends, at least in part, on what you order. The service, by the way, was excellent. The dining environment was clean and comfortable, with plenty of television screens so people could keep up with World Cup matches.

It feels like a younger team is running things now, making the service more efficient, while you'll still recognize some of the longtime employees that have been here for years. It's nice to see the tradition continue without losing what made this place special. Parking can be hectic since it's in a busy plaza, so I highly recommend arriving before 9:30 AM on weekends. The restaurant fills up fast, and the energy is always lively. Seating can be a little close for comfort at times, and you may end up dining right next to another party, but that's all part of the classic dim sum experience. The dining room is spacious and can easily accommodate parties of any size--from a table for one to large family gatherings of 20+. One change I noticed is there are fewer dim sum carts roaming around now. Instead, you can order most items directly from your server, which honestly makes it easier to get exactly what you're craving. The beverage cart still comes around with fresh fruit drinks, coffee, tea, and yes... even beer at 9 in the morning if that's your thing! If you want both dim sum and their lunch menu, plan to arrive around 10:30 AM. Lunch isn't served until 11:00 when the kitchen shifts over, so you can enjoy both in one visit. Our table was filled with all the classics. Such as har gow, siu mai, rice porridge with Chinese donut, and plenty more (definitely ordered more than we could finish). Don't forget to order the almond drink with the puff pastry as soon as you sit down because it takes about 30 minutes to prepare and is absolutely worth the wait. We also tried their newer weekend special, the fried tofu skin with shrimp, which my husband really enjoyed. One last tip: don't forget to check in on Yelp to save on wait time! Great service, authentic dim sum, and flavors that have stayed consistent for years. Seafood Cove 2 never disappoints and will always be my go-to spot whenever I'm craving dim sum.
