We always patronize Dim Sum Cafe at least once during our semi-annual trips to Vegas. That tradition might be discontinued after our visit today. The food is still not bad and service decent. Prices have increased so most dim sum dishes were between $4.05 and $6.85. Portions seemed to have shrunk. Our waitress tried to upsell the quantity we were ordering and pushed the higher priced items. She told us that other dim sum places in Vegas were much more expensive. The pea vine (now $16.95) I recommended in my previous review has also gone downhill. The stems were thick and too mature; not thin and tender like they should be. What annoyed me was our check included a 18% ($20.93) service charge on the after tax amount of $116.24. There was no disclosure anywhere that a party of 5 will be automatically charged this gratuity. Unless you check your bill closely, you would ended up tipping twice. When I asked our waitress, she said it was because of our large party of 5. Ummmm...most other restaurants is 6 or more. This unscrupulous practice along with the jacked up prices have soured me against this place. $137 dim sum for 4 adults and 1 child is a bit too steep. read more

Gave this place a try since I knew the more popular places would be super busy on an Easter Sunday. Wanted to take my guests to a nice place, I figured this being in Summerlin gave it a better chance of being nice. Unfortunately it's not in that nice of a location, sort of an older strip mall. When we sat down it just had a dirty vibe to it. Menus were greasy, soy sauce bottles had cracked lids and dirty streaks down the side -- no attention to detail or pride in cleanliness. Even the cart they pushed around to bus dishes was super dirty. It was so bad, I walked out to my car to get my anti bacterial. First two dishes we tried were the shrimp noodle roll and bbq pork noodle roll. Usually two of our favorites, they were the worst I've ever had, highly likely they were leftover and not freshly made, as the noodle was disintegrating when you picked it up, and filling for both was not fresh at all, little to poor flavor. Another favorite, har gow, was the same non fresh taste. That's usually the sign of how good any dim sum place is going to be, the simple har gow dumpling. This dish really showed their failure as a quality dim sum spot. To my surprise I liked the pork shumai pretty good. And the chow fun had promise too, but unfortunately was too salty. We were planning on ordering a lot more, but after our initial disgust of the things we experienced, we all sort of lost our appetite. This definitely is not the type of place that will have all Chinese clientele, verifying its authenticity. Pretty much all dim sum places have a relative consistency they don't fall below, but somehow this place does. Combine that with their lack of cleanliness and it's impossible for me to ever want to return. I'm giving jt 2 stars, because the fact that I took the bait on the 4 star rating is highly irresponsible by those who've previously rated this place. I've tried a few different Dim Sum places around town and so far Dim Sum Cafe wins my heart. My hub and I came on a Friday night for dinner. There was plenty of seating & no wait which was awesome. The menu has all of the traditional dim sum options & also Chinese dishes. Our favorites that we ordered were the pork shu mai, shrimp har gow and shrimp rice noodle. If you've never had shu mai before, that's a must! Our food arrived quick, fresh & hot as it should. Very tasty! I would never come back. Went in and ordered take out and I just got my order of shrimp balls, chive dumplings and har gow. 22$+ for them and they are tiny dim sum but i had to wait 20 mins!! Then she rushingly went to wait tables and when I asked him directly he ignored me until i said I just wanted a refund, even the guy in the kitchen looked at me when i kept saying "sure excuse me!" and finally he goes idk what order is yours and kept working, didn't ask or anything then i kept saying it's fine I'll take a refund he goes the girl will be back just wait. MIND YOU 5 couples walked in and all got served before me. Then when the girl came back HE SCREAMED AT HER AGAIN telling her to give me the same bag he JUST PUT ON THE COUNTER AFTER HE TOLD HER TO LEAVE THE FIRST TIME. I've had better, but I'll take it! -Daikon cake -har gow -porridge -steamed pork spareribs -steamed bbq pork buns - my daughter's favorite -XLB - didn't see on the menu; we asked for it. First time trying this place. The interior was neat and clean, there wasn't a lot of people during the time we came. We were seated and provided with the menu and drinks right away. All the food we ordered were delicious, only feedback is the curry cream cheese wonton could have been filled a bit more. The chili oil that was on the table was sooo good! What I noticed and was impressed by is the staff's attention. During our dine in, the staff came to our table at least 3 times to ask how everything was, if everything is good. Excellent service like that always sticks to me and deserves a great review. Most dim-sum places I've been in, such as Orchid Garden, the staff are usually rude and un attentive with the exception of if you are Chinese. Another find in Las Vegas, a Chinese restaurant that serves dim sum late. The bittermelon only came in spare ribs, i normally prefer fish which is not the way most restaurants serve. The bittermelon was crunchy, the way I like it, instead of overcooked like most places cook it, yum! I love tofu skin rolls, I'm glad this place has it, it's vegetarian and so good. The beef tendons were soft but lacked seasoning, I couldn't taste any anise or other spices I'm accustomed to this dish having. The shrimps were huge, I eat everything but the eye balls, I still haven't tried the eyes yet, but oh so good! The chickie feet were well chickie feet, I have yet to encounter a place that does a bad job of cooking them. The Singapore noodles had a nice bit of a bite to it, yum, the only thing I abhor is most restaurants have taken up sprinkling sesame seeds on top, it's purely for appearance and does not do a thing for it, in fact they need to stop that practice, it also doesn't help that I don't like sesame seeds. I've ordered take out from here and dined in a multiple times. During Covid they just have you order off a menu. Idk if that's how they normally do it but this is a nice way to prevent germs spreading. My COVID time reviews are generally nice as I don't want to negatively impact a restaurant but I will be as honest as possible. Like most dim sum places this restaurant has a full menu of Chinese food. They serve dim sum all day. The food is always fresh. They are have ample staff. The restaurant is very clean. The food comes out fast. The staff is nice and friendly. I will say this place is not my favorite dim sum place nor is it an establishment I will travel for. It is more of a neighborhood restaurant IMO and reserved for when I'm visiting my aunt which is quite often. When we don't feel like driving far we just come here. Usually when you go to a dim sum place there are some items that the establishment makes better than other places so you rotate between restaurants when you crave dim sum. The flavors are a bit toned down IMO which some may prefer. They carry all of the items you would imagine. Siu Mai, har gow, chicken feet. The filling for their items are over processed and there is no texture. I even ordered off their menu. Their crispy Hong Kong style chow menu noodles were so densely packed when fried that it was served like a block and hard to eat even when the gravy was topping it. My one dish I recommend is the Chinese sausage in steam bun. This place is fine. The food is cooked fine. The taste is okay. It just isn't my favorite dim sum place in town. read more

I love dimsum and so when I came to this location I had really high expectations. It doesn't look like it from the outside and there are no carts like the traditional dimsum location BUT the food is authentic and tastes good! My favorite dishes here that get my "Really Good" stamp of approval are the Bean Curd Tofu Skin, Fried Shrimp Balls, Daikon Cake (does not come with the classic Turnip Cake sauce but is actually delicious without it). The other dishes were good but they were average compared to other dimsum places. I will say that I expected more of the Sweet Cream Bun though, flavor didn't hit as hard and filling to bun ratio was a bit off. read more

This place is definitely in my top 3 for dim sum in Vegas! It's a major perk that it's not in the hustle and bustle of Chinatown. I honestly didn't think I'd find dim sum this good in Summerlin. Our server was very friendly and made some superb recommendations for me and my family to try. We came in a little later, about an hour before closing, and you could just tell that everything was made fresh to order. Everything that came out was steaming hot and not dried out like you might find in some other places when it's the end of the night. If you're not into dim sum, they also have your traditional Chinese-American menu as well! I'd love to come back and try out more! I would really love to give this place 5 stars, but something was missing as far as "umph" factor. Everything was good, but nothing was great in terms of flavor. Read on some reviews that no carts as per typical dim sum place. We were given menus and ordered from there. Ordered the usual: shrimp har gow, pork siumai, shrimp rice noodle, steamed pork riblets, radish cakes, chow mein, chinese greens, sesame balls, soup dumplings, cream buns, egg tarts. Nothing outstanding. Their cream bun was good though. Around $25 per person including tip. Not too shabby but there's probably a better place for dim sum somewhere. read more

I haven't been here for awhile as its just a tad bit off my usual travels. But squidlett et al wanted dim sum and they are partial to this place. It opens at 11:00 AM every day which seems a bit odd for a dim sum place. We got there a few minutes after opening and the place was about three quarters filled. Today they had one cart weaving thru the dining area. I guess it had a few "standard" items... shumei, hargow, lomagai (sticky rice and sausage wrapped in a leaf ), chicken feet, spare ribs with black bean . we ordered several orders of shumei, hargow etc. We also ordered char shu bao, several shrimp dishes and several noodle dishes. I wanted congee, but nobody wanted to share. the hargow, shumei and other cart items were tasty, hot and were hoovered down. The menu items came out pretty much one at a time and were tasty. A good meal, but personally i prefer a dim sum service entirely based on carts... seems like a more authentic vibe to me. But a counterpoint is that the items that came right from the kitchen were hot and perhaps not cart worthy. Service in any event was reasonably fast. worth another trip? Saw this place had good reviews so decided to try it since it's on the way to Red Rock. Also they serve dim sum all day for the same price which is hard to find! Plus we can't find sit down restaurant dim sum at home for the prices they have. Starts at $2.75, $3.25, $3.75, $4.95. Many items to choose from at the $3.25 level. We got here around 3:00 pm and there were only about 2 or 3 tables of people eating. However, while we were there a lot of take out orders were being picked up. Service was better than most Chinese restaurants, they came by frequently to clear dishes and food came out pretty fast. The decor is more modern then the traditional dim sum restaurant. They did not take our temperature but masks and gloves are worn. On to the food, some items were made really well and others were just meh. Pan fried chives - yum! These were delicious, crispy on the outside juicy on the inside with lots of meat. Pork siu mai - these were tasty, no shrimp in them Steamed pork dumplings (XLB) - these were juicy, had soup inside but only 3 to an order and a bit small Bean curd - decent, lots of meat and cooked well Sticky rice - a little bland and only 1 out of the 2 had a tiny piece of Chinese sausage inside Baked sweet cream buns - I think this is their version of the custard bun. These were good. Crunchy topping like ba lo bao ( pineapple buns), the filling was tasty but not enough inside. Baked bbq pork buns - slightly sweet sugary topping, not a lot of meat. They were okay. Hom sui gok (fried meat dumplings) - a bit doughy and didn't come out hot. Bbq pork rice noodles - very bland and noodles were thick. Not too many places make this well. Pass on this one. Sweet Sticky rice cake - weird consistency and was the last item to come out. Not fluffy like it should be. Not sure why it took so long to be served. Skip this one too. For the prices, it wasn't bad. Would I go back? Maybe for the pan fried chives dumplings if we happen to be driving that way, but would probably try a different dim sum restaurant next time we're in Vegas. read more
