Shopping nearby earlier today and saw this Mediterranean restaurant just opened. So we decided to celebrate a special occasion with our son by coming for dinner and experiencing some familiar cuisine that he enjoyed on a visit to Greece & Italy. It is lovely inside, so open and with long tables for big parties or to enjoy with fellow diners which is the custom. I read over the menu online before we arrived so I would have a better idea of what I would want to try on this first visit. That helped! Though I didn't see the Chicken Makloube. No bother. I enjoyed the plate I put together for myself from the buffet. Each of us tried different things and we all enjoyed it very much. And the desserts!! We look forward to coming again. read more

Before you think of coming here, ask yourself one question. "Am I hungry enough to eat 2-3 plates?" There's so many options to choose from at Dimassi's. I was skeptical coming here at first as Mediterranean foods take so much time and flavors to develop something authentic I wouldn't think it could be done in a buffet. There's plenty of fresh options salads, tabouleh, chickpea salad. Proteins like kefta, chicken kebab, gyro meat grilled chicken etc. Highly recommend to vegetarians. I came during the weekend lunch so the lamb shank wasn't available. The options they had sufficed. My first time up I tried a little bit of everything, everything was well prepared other than the Okra which tasted as they put a can of tomato sauce on it. The tabouleh stole the show as it has the right amount of lime, mint and parsley. Top it with their chicken kebab and spicy hummus! read more

I really do love this place. The buffet is huge, so many different choices. Fresh pita. Drink included. Love the variety and freshness. Never had a bad experience. The only reason I don't give five stars is because sometimes if you go during a busy time you have to wait for certain items to be refilled and sometimes it takes so long you just have to eat other stuff instead of what you really want. I was slightly suspicious: you know, buffet.. Especially after visiting their location in Sugar Land a while ago. A nice surprise: well air conditioned and clean space, tons of choices, everything is fresh, mildly spiced and delicious! I had kale Caesar salad, tabouli, hummus and baba ganoush (of course!) with pita chips, grilled lamb, grape leaves, lentil soup ( my favorite!) and baklava. I had to tell myself to slow down. Two little secrets: baklava is not swimming in sugar syrup and is house made which makes it so tender, and if you do not see lamb shanks, ask for them. The meat is falling off the bone! While in the Humble area we decided to eat dinner here because we have visited other Dimassi locations from Dallas and San Antonio. I was surprise on how it wasn't so busy on a Friday evening. There were plenty of food and selection even for those picky eaters. I always enjoy the variety of salads and rice. My son said he loved everything. They also had rose water and my husband and son loved that sweet treat. The food all look so fresh and delicious. I have been to this buffet a few times and that says a lot because I normally hate buffets. The place is clean and the food is fresh. The first time I went they must have just filled the basket with hot pita bread because they were some of the best pitas I have had. Other times the pita hasnt been as good but it is still good and I will notice a different item seems to be better that visit than previous visits. I have had amazing baklava here and some that were ok. The salads and hummus are always on point which is great for me since I am not a huge meat fan. I love the different rices as well. I would say if you are looking for a fast meal with lots of fresh veggies then this place is perfect. read more

Remove the D I's and last S and that describes this place. The gyro meat was okay, the pita tasted like French bread, the hummus was not bad and tbh the only highlight was the rice pudding. Yes you read that right, RICE PUDDING. That shows you how trash this place was. I felt like I walked into a funeral home. No tables were clean and it wasn't until the end of our meal that a guy came to clean them which led to my friend clapping for him as though he just finished doing knife tricks at a Japanese restaurant (man I wish I ate Japanese food instead of this...). Why does this have 4 1/2 stars? I'm convinced it is either because they give 10% off for a Yelp review or the place is a front for drug dealing. Don't come here, please! Go spend $15 on 4 Big Macs and a fun date with you and that special someone. read more

This place gets the job done. Their dimassi's eggplant and lentils and rice are my go to's as a vegan at dimassi's. Also the dolmas, babaganoush, avocado hummus, taboleh, fattush and a couple other salads are usually what I get. I do love buffets because this vegan can eat. Let me tell ya They label all there buffet items with vegan and other helpful tags to take the guess work out of your trot down the line. This is a great place to go with those in your circle who dont prescribe to the plant based life style. Also a good place for to go. I think its 8 dollars per pound of food or you can order specifically what you want and pick it up like a catering service. Easy, clean and affordable and the food is pretty Damn tasty. We found this place when we got a buy one get one free coupon in the mail. Decided it was worth a try since they had awesome reviews and we hadn't tried Mediterranean food before. Upon entering, we were greeted. They don't have waiters but we tipped anyways. You just sit down where you please, self serve to their buffet, and pay when you're finished. Went on a weekend so it was $15.69/person but with the coupon and tip, it ended up being $9.50/person which I think was a great price for the food you get. I loved the fluffy pita bread with the 4 different hummus choices they had. The spicy fish fillet and the chicken were my favorite. Also, we tried the rose water which was a little too sweet but pretty good. The baklava and jam cookie dessert were also great! read more

This place was good but some of the dishes were not to my liking. I love Greek, Lebanese and Mediterranean food. The pitas were very fresh. I just did not see the need for paying for my 3 year old who barely ate. The tea tasted yucky to me... Maybe I'll give this place another try. read more

Thanks to Yelp we found this yummy buffet place. They have really fresh, extremely tasty Mediterranean food at its best. Our group of three has very different tastes and each of us was able to pick and choose things exactly to our liking. The tabouleh was crispy and seasoned perfectly with mint. The pitas are baked fresh and served warm! They had a lentil soup and a chicken soup that were both exquisite. They also have a few non-Mediterranean things including Indian biryani and pizza (the mozzarella cheese may not be low-fat but it is certainly high-quality!). The baklava was really amazing, crispy not soggy and with just the right pistachio-to-phyllo ratio. We only wish we weren't so full at that point that we could only savor a single piece each! When we went to pay (you pay at the end), we were pleasantly shocked that it was only $12.95 a person! We were there for lunch; dinner is a bit more but still a terrific deal. Keep in mind that price also includes a drink. With Mediterranean food being as healthy as it is, and this place being as delicious and cheap as it is, our only disappointment is that this chain appears to be in Houston only. If you are looking for some good Mediterranean restaurant don't be turned off that this is a buffet. The food was really great! We stopped here by chance, wasn't really in the mood for Chinese and this was on the way. An employee greeted us the minute we walked in. You just go right to the buffet and find your own seat. They don't have a wait staff at all - it's all self serve, even the drinks. They have all the the Mediterranean staples and you can also order additional stuff on the side. A lady in front of me ordered a whole lamb leg!! The Greek salad was fresh and the hummus was really good. They offered three different kinds. The pita bread was straight out of the oven fresh and so good! I ate more carbs than I should have!! They have all sorts of meat dishes but I stuck to the chicken. It was seasoned perfectly and practically melted off the bone, which is saying a lot for a buffet. There was also a pasta alfredo with mushrooms and chicken. It was a little too watery so I had to use a soup bowl instead of put it on the plate, the sauce would go all over the plate. One bite though and you can tell that everything in that place is authentic and homemade. We went on a Saturday for lunch and the buffet was just under $15 for adults and $8 for kids. Not bad for an all you can eat. I will say if you are looking for quantity of different selections you tend to find more at a Chinese buffet, but if you want healthy and great tasting than check this place out!! read more

I absolutely love eating at Dimassi's despite the fact that I loathe buffet style restaurants. Weird but true. I don't like buffets because the food is open to the public and kids not being properly guided by their parents. Although Dimassi's is a buffet style restaurant, the staff is always vigilant and making sure that the food is fresh and everything clean. The times I have been there, I have never seen a child serving themselves, sneezing over or coughing over the food. I haven't seen them touching food and putting it back on the steam table. Price was excellent and had great selection and variety. BREAD....AMAZING! THE MUSTARD CHICKEN, BRIYANI AND THEIR HUMMAS.....LOVE! PLUS MANY OTHER GREAT OPTIONS. My family sampled about 80% of buffet. I heard the Rose water is great. Minus 1 STAR because of ambience- very quiet...light music would be great, floor a little sticky and additional person to clear tables needed. Will absolutely return!
