The food here is amazing! The only other Dimassi's location that I would say is superior is the downtown Houston location, but this one was definitely worth the trip. In our whole party of 5, we all had a great meal. Everyone was able to find things they liked, ranging from a vegetarian to someone on an Atkin's (no carb) diet. The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender, and tasted amazing. There are so many different kinds of rice to choose from, so you're pretty much guaranteed to find one you like. The meats were tender, and had TONS of flavor -- I particularly loved the gyro meat with the fresh pita bread and tzatiki sauce, and the chicken with veggies and pita bread. The table had glowing praise for the pizza and spinach puffs as well, and everyone greatly enjoyed the fresh pita bread. There was alot of approval of the dips and sauces as well, which were expertly made and tasted amazing, with a wonderful, thick texture. The baklava was stupendous! I was skeptical, as baklava can be very tricky (particularly if it's sitting out on a buffet table), but it was crisp and sweet, and even had sauce you could pour on it available! The coconut cookies were very, very delicious as well. On to the complaints... the food was SO cold. We arrived at around 6:00, and everything put out was cold, from the rice to the gyro meat. The only thing that was even slightly warm was the pita bread. Even the lamb shank, which I requested, was cold. The rose water was EXTREMELY watered down as well, it was pretty much just pink water. That was, for me at least, the most disappointing part of the meal, as I'm a huge fan of the rose water. The spinach with feta cheese was made with canned spinach, and was also cold, making it quite unpleasant. The rice pudding also tasted extremely pungent, giving it a soap-like perfume taste -- possibly due to too much of one ingredient. If I could also make one suggestion, the addition of spanikopita to the options would be amazing! Don't let the negative parts of this review turn you off from visiting this location. These were the only things keeping this meal from being good to great, and knocked this down from 5 stars to 4. It's absolutely worth the trip, but just arrive earlier in the day when the food is warmer! read more

I was surprised to find that the food was not that bad, good is what I rate it and I was not accustomed to the food. It was hot and nicely laid out. The service was not extensive but the place had few customers at 6pm. I tried almost everything on the buffet with the lamb being my favorite. Great buffet that has a full description of each item. Staff were very friendly in answering all questions and showing the favorite items. Staff were doing a great job at keeping the place clean and all used plates removed from the tables. No wait staff so drinks has to be prepared and refilled by yourself. Lamb Shank can be requested and it is prepared as ordered. Very large sitting area so it would be great place to take groups. read more

We just tried this for the first time tonight. Food was great. Tables were clean, and the tables aren't crowded. Would be easy with children as well. When we got up to get dessert, the bus boy cleaned our table...silverware, drinks and all! It was kind of inconvenient since we were nearly done eating and had to go find more silverware and remake drinks. One and done. We have driven past Dimaasi's and wished we tried it several times. When the wait at Pappas was too long, we walked over. I haven't left reviews good or bad in a long time. There is a reason there is ample parking. The place is tired and untidy. The food looks good but we couldn't even finish a serving of anything. It is no Nico Nicos or even the little Greek food truck on north park. I am so disappointed. The best part was the beginning and end of the line: pita bread and baklava.
