This was a really good, clean location. Selection was great (so many types of hummus!) everything was good and service was quick. My only complaint is that the green salad and many other dishes had cheese already on them so I couldn't eat them as I am lactose intolerant. I wish they would order cheese on the side! read more

We came to the restaurant last night with our Groupon, which was a great deal and was accepted with no attitude from the employees (I've had bad experiences at other places where the cashiers are rude to Groupon users- if you don't want couponing people, don't sign up for the service!). All the employees were friendly. The decor is... bland. While the color palette is nice and there are a few nice decorations on the wall the entire place looks very boring and like a school cafeteria. Just rows and rows of tables with no booths and no real visual impact. Granted, if the food is good then decor don't matter quite as much. There was also this kind of terrible elevator muzak being piped in. They should get something more interesting or forego the music all together. Unfortunately, the food matched the decor. It wasn't bad, per se, just bland and flavorless. The hummus was actually tasty. The pita was cold and hard. The salads were wilted and brown and the pastas really had no flavor. Most of the dressings were pretty bland as well. If beige had a taste, it would taste like Dimassi's. Over at the hot section, I tried various rices. They were just alright. All the sides were really dry, as if they had been sitting for a long time. The potatoes. Dry. The caulifower. Dry. The falafel. Not dry, just pretty burnt on the outside and flavorless on the inside. My date tried every meat, but the fish. He reported the same. Dry. Bland. Meh. To be fair, some of it had been sitting out a long time and halfway through our meal they started replacing bins. We did go up and try the fresher items, but they were still flavorless. All in all, it's not the worst place I've ever eaten. The front of the house was really clean. The employess were incredibly nice. The food was not good. I won't be going back, especially when Andalous and Terra are both just as close and really tasty. read more

Really no better word to describe it than "mediocre". For $14 it was acceptable, but if you're seeking really good and authentic Mediterranean food then this is not the place. The food here really decent to good. I have always enjoyed it. There are lots of meat choices as well as vegetables/salads. There's fresh bread that super yummy too. What I don't enjoy is their service. I don't ever expect service at a buffet but when the guy at the register starts smiling at you (as if you're lying) when you tell them you have one child, it's downright disrespectful. Apparently people who frequent this place lie about the age of their children and it affects the restaurant and others who choose not to lie about such things. The guy apologized but it really ruined the whole experience. Not coming here anytime soon. Also, for those who care, their (male) bathroom is a disaster zone. Update: The guy did apologize quite a bit and told me his intention was never to insinuate that I was lying but that he just remembering what others do. Wow!! We took my husbands parents here, for an early Father's Day dinner. At first glance- it looked very clean, smelled wonderful and the food looked very fresh. During the hour and a half we were there, they put out fresh food several times. The wait staff and the manager were constantly clearing plates away. We will be back for sure! My family loves to eat here. The buffet has lots of items: grape leaves, standards like tabouli and hummus, a variety of meats, a couple of soups, several rice and vegetable dishes, and desserts like baklava and rice pudding. The spread is plentiful and well-lit. The workers are quiet and considerate--and friendly, when asked a question. The price of the buffet is comprehensive. Drinks (coffee, tea, soft drinks) are included. There's nothing to pay extra for. The decor is basic but clean. We don't go there for the atmosphere. We leave when we just can't eat any more. There aren't a lot of Mediterranean buffets. This is the best one I've come across. read more

Went to this location twice and end up having lunch somewhere else. The manager looks completely clueless to whatever you say, in a word a big dumbo. Both the days I visited were Saturdays and there are hardly any people in the restaurant. The lamb shanks, gyro, beef kabobs are cold and they cant fix it. But the experience at Dimasis restaurant (richardson) is completely opposite across all the 20-25 times i went there.. This location is just awesome read more

I've been to the Dimassi's in Richardson a number of times, and was delighted to find that they'd opened a second location closer to my house. I knew they were a chain and had multiple Houston locations, but up until now the Richardson location was it as far as the Dallas area went. The food is generally quite good, the physical location is a bit nicer than the Richardson restaurant with less of a school lunchroom feel. The positives: The baba ganoush is excellent. Not the best I've ever had, but still very good. The bread is hot and fresh. The rice with eggplant is wonderful. I don't know what spices they use, but it's delicious. The fattoush is great. It's basically a salad made from cucumbers, radishes and mint. I looked up recipes online to try to replicate it, but they all vary wildly and none of them come close to Dimassi's version. The negatives" The eggplant with pomegranate is better in Richardson, here it's a bit dry. The grilled chicken breast cubes were also a bit on the dry side. The grilled chicken thighs were far better. I don't know why people put chicken breast, which is very easy to dry out, on a buffet. It simply doesn't work well as a buffet item. Not everything is perfect, but it's a buffet, so if you don't like something there's plenty to replace it with. Even though it's closer to my house than the Richardson lo it's about twenty minutes from my house, but well worth the drive. I'll be back. read more

My co-workers and I went here for lunch figure we will try something different. Service wasn't friendly girl was on the phone as she taking our money didn't know we had to pay before you eat. Also notice there was a request for tip when there wasn't any waiter or waitress. I not cheap just believe that you should provide server for tip not taking tip just to cash out. As far as the food everything was a bit salty, i was thinking it was just me but when ask the other guess that was with me they felt the same too. DiMassi's has a big buffet almost all hours of the day with a lot of variety in their dishes. Last time I went it was about 330 in the afternoon and there were quite a few people in there watching a Real Madrid soccer match and eating good food. There are lots of salads and vegetable items as well as good, rib-sticking meat entrées. I love their meatballs, and I had some fried fish today that was delicate and very tasty --not greasy at all. They have a variety of different sauces like a yogurt cucumber sauce, a thicker Greek style version that has garlic in it, your classic hummus, tahini and a red chili sauce that goes great on the falafel. They have pans of different fresh breads including chapati, and nice desserts including flaky baklava. They even have several different iced teas to choose from. I ate my fill for $11. The only drawback that I have experienced there is the acoustics. The room always feels loud. read more

I was here at around 150PM on Saturday, August 30th. I wish I knew the name of the employee that was working the cashier so I could call and compliment the owner. This fellow was outstanding!!! He went above & beyond to give us good customer service after a Groupon mix up (a fault on my part). Anyways, Irving is a nasty area but this place is great. I have been to this location several times & have always left feeling super full. The food is wonderful, super fresh & everything is clean! My favorite dish the buffet offers is the gyro meat. It might help of the lighting over the buffet used actual heat warming lamps instead of led lights - which give off no heat. I have no idea how this place gets anything above 3 stars. I will say the pita and the flatbread were the best I've ever had-- fresh and doughy, and nothing like the dry crap you buy at grocery stores. Ripoff! If I'm allowed to give fewer stars I would. Those people charge $7/lb to get lentil soup!!! For real?? Customer service is nonexistent and rudeness is their way to solve disputes. I'll never put my feet there. Stay away! You could get better Buffet deals almost everywhere. $18 for Buffet or 7$/lb if you want it to go, regardless if you fill it with zucchini, eggplant, fries...or meat. Normally Businesses separate the two: If you buy Meat only you charge higher prices but if you buy the rest the price is way cheaper. If you argue, they tell you we gave you a discount, and normally we charge such and such ( of course this is a plain fabrication). They deal with customers like thieves. What a pity and a shame! Please, learn customer service before you open a restaurant. read more
