This is a new location of the restaurant. It was really great about a month after it opened. I have been there two times in the last month and will probably not go back. I went both on a Saturday and a Wednesday. On both occasions the food on the buffet was old, cold, and dry. The staff does not serve fresh food until every piece of the old crap is taken by someone. I believe that some of the food is possibly not safe to eat. On a Wednesday visit the place was filthy and many tables were not cleared. If you get near the restrooms make sure you wear a gas mask so you are not overcome by the smell. All I can say is stay away. It is overprice for food that should be in the dumpster. read more

We visited the Willowbrook location on a Sunday at about 1 PM. It was our first visit to that location. I had been to two other Dimassi's restaurants in Houston, and this was by far the worst: fewer selections than the other two I had been to, messy and un-cleaned, and half of the offerings were poor quality. The most disappointing was the Gyro meat, my favorite go to every time I go to the restaurants. It was served in great big chunks that had a bad flavor and a really weird mushy texture. I took one bite and spit it out. They also usually do a great job with fried chicken, and that was conspicuously missing from this location. The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because they had lamb shanks and some type of lemon chicken breast chunk thing that were both pretty good. Avoid this location unless you are a vegetarian, most of the typical Mediterranean vegetable dishes/hummus were decent. read more

This Dimassi's replaced 59 diner and oh, am I glad! Finally we have a Mediterranean place nearby that's delicious and affordable. We loved all their items. It was delicious. The only complaint is the seasoned bread, at this location it looks like a pizza. It's thick. The seasoned bread at other locations is thinner and crisp. Same with the Pitts chips, they're too thick. This location I personally feel is better than the location in The Woodlands. It seems to be bigger, the meat is not overcooked, and one of my favorite things happens to be their falafel, what's despite what many people believe about Falafel is extremely moist! You pay after you're done eating. And you can see yourself, at least that's what happened with us on this Sunday afternoon that we came in. It has a great variety, and I feel like they even have a few more meat dishes than the location in The Woodlands. It's a very clean place and it has a lot of seating. When we were there we saw all types of people, this generally indicates a good restaurant! Just a note, it doesn't matter if you have water tea or soda it's an all-inclusive fee to the meal. So have whatever you want! I love to the baba ganoush, and several of their meat dishes, but I don't happen to know the names of, sorry. The other thing that I always loved here is that they make baklava, but they have a little syrup on the side but you can add, sometimes you'll find them to be dry, this will really help if you like more of a moist baklava as I do. My husband also Rants and Raves about the stuffed grape leaves, and I love to dip them in my baba ganoush, the red pepper sauce and even in the taziki! I saw a lot of families there, so I guess it would be good for large parties and children. And if it's your first time there, no it's okay to leave your dishes at the table, and they will take them away. We love Mediterranean food! And we love Dimassi's! We were so excited and happy they opened one here in the northwest side. We've been to the one in sugar land and galleria. The food is amazing! Many people don't know to ask for the lamb shanks. They have it in the kitchen. The meat falls off the bone! The chicken there is so juicy! We love the hummus and naan! I always get the cauliflower, the garlic sauce, and all the meat there is just mouth watering! The falafel is really good here. I think the baklava taste better here too!Everything is so good! I don't think people around the northwest aren't use to Mediterranean food. Love have variety and not the same old Chinese buffet or Mexican food. Great Mediterranean buffet. Have been there twice with office colleagues. First time sampled all the mezze (the dips) and the meats/ fish. Zeroed down on few of them and stuck to my selection the second time round. The hummus, babaganush, garlic butter and chili sauce make an awesome combo. The gyro meat (ask for it separately) is juicy. For the meats- the kababs beef and chicken. Tried the fish, meatballs, pulled beef - well not that great. They also have fried chicken. For the price, it gives you a good sample of middle eastern food buffet in the NW with a mix of vegan, salads, poultry, meat and desert baklava sample, that all has been prominent for centuries from the holy land & serrounding countries. I'm generally never satisfied with the quality of buffet no matter what the cuisine may be - however, Dimassi's on 249 is quite alright (wish I could say the same about the one on 45 in The Woodlands). You generally have to make a side request for Lamb Shank - not bad for a buffet either. read more

The managers/owners need to improve the food. This location is not the same as the Woodlands. Food had a different flavor and it was hot and stinky inside. I will think twice about eating at this location again. We were looking for a quiet, comfortable, delicious and clean place where we could eat in a buffet like atmosphere. Very hard to find, but we did find it here. The choices were many, especially the healthy choices, a good combination of nutritious salads and all kinds of dinner combinations. I've been to another Dimassi before (the one in the Woodlands) and first thing I noticed was not only a difference in interior style but also the food? This one is much better though especially the falafels. Here the falafels are greener, softer and just taste better. Also, the desert that tastes coconuty is less dry here. We participated in the breaking of the Ramadan fast yesterday at 8pm at Dimassi Mediterranean Buffet in Austin. I was blown away by the amount of attention and detail that was put into this meal. The trays of slow cooked meats seasoned to perfection including a fatten calf which was pulled as the meat fell right off the bone. Slow cooked lamb shanks, and broiled lamb in seasoned tomato sauce. Baked fish seasoned with paprika, olive oil, lemon and with mixed vegetables. Kafta Kabob which is ground beef, parsley, onion and garlic. Chicken w/Sumac which is cooked with onions, lemon juice, olive oil and sumac. A whole lamb roasted perfectly and tastes like warm pastrami. Open flame grilled vegetables, stews with lentils, a mountain of rice mixed with vermicelli and seasoned ground beef, and Basamati Biryani spiced rice. A variety of salads including tabouli and fatoush with marinated veggies topped with feta cheese and fried bread. Spinach with feta seem to be a hit even amongst the kids. An array of hummus each flavored differently with a avocado, mushrooms or garlic. Baba ghanouge which is roasted eggplant with tahini sauce and delicious! Grape leaves stuffed with seasoned rice and meat and topped with lemon juice and oil. Breads filled with meats and cheeses and hot out of the stone oven and of course pita bread topped with meats, garlic or pesto which you can't pass up even on a strict diet. The desserts as well as the other foods are prepared and stacked in long trays that required two men to carry out. The desserts are laid out along side mountains of fresh fruit. Creamy baklava, honey cake and what looked like a traditional empanada filled with sweet pistachios. Traditional baklava made with filo dough, walnuts, sugar and topped with pistachios. Jam cookies, and rice pudding which is very similar to our arroz con leche. A variety of teas and rose water seem to be pretty popular. We were surrounded by people from all over the world. Watching the traditions come to life was amazing and I am so grateful to live in this country that is so rich in culture and delicious cuisine that we all have an opportunity to enjoy and share. read more

I gave this place 2 stars for having a big variety but the food is so bland. The buffet is $15 but considering all the wonderful places to eat your money is best spent elsewhere. I always go to Dimassi's in the Woodlands area for the lamb shank which is included in their buffet. Today I decided to go to the Willowbrook branch which was a big disappointment. I ordered a lamb shank for the second time and the guy in the Kitchen told me, I can only have one and I have to pay for the second one. This is bullcrap since I can eat all I want if I have went to the woodlands location. So, if you like lamb shank, go to the Woodlands and enjoy to your stomachs desire. read more
