Solid breakfast menu. Nothing spectacular but I don't need that at breakfast. I ordered the Hammy Sammy and my daughter got a skillet. Both were very good. It was late morning and most of the breakfast crowd had moved out. I think it stays open until 2 for lunch. Friendly staff and attentive. Food came out quickly. Typical diner atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. Would definitely go back here if I was on the West side and needed a quick sit-down breakfast or lunch. read more

This is not the go to if you're vegan. However, the customer service is great and the sever adapted to my vegan order and with no fuss. She kept my coffee cup full. The food came quickly and was hot. Never once had a bad meal from Dimitris! Customer service is amazing; even saw Dimitri himself bussing tables a few months ago to get customers seated as quickly as possible. Location isn't very large but the customer base is which can make wait times a little longer. Sad to see people leaving 1 star reviews, lowering ratings and potentially hurting the chance of new business because a cook wasn't wearing a mask. As if small businesses haven't struggled enough... food is excellent, staff is amazing, prices and portions are great. That's what matters. read more

Multiple cooks in the kitchen not wearing masks, as Michigan COVID cases went up by 64% recently. Snapped a pic of the woman but there was also a larger man without his mask. So my wife and I drove up to a friend's Wedding and decided to get Breakfast this morning. We had many places to choose from iHop, Cracker Barrel, or Golden Corral. But after doing a Yelp Search we came up with a couple other options and just decided to drive. You know sometimes just taking a drive around a City that you don't know, can have surprising results. Even though we didn't see this place on Yelp we drove by and decided to stop in. SO GLAD that we did. I ordered the Pancake Combo and my wife Ordered the French Toast Combo. We no sooner got our drinks and then about 3 minutes later got our food. Our food came out and it was Hot, the bacon was crispy, the eggs were cooked correctly and after looking at the Pancakes, which were the size of the Plate I poured Syrup on them and finished eating my eggs and bacon. The pancakes were fluffy and they were warm as well. The waitress was friendly and she sat down and just explained the menu and what was popular at the restaurant. Next time we make our way up here to Lansing again, we are going to be eating here again. Thanks for breakfast Dimitri's to some out of towners who were hungry. Can't wait to come back. read more

This definitely felt like a 'minimalist' type breakfast spot to me. My parents ordered griddle combos, one with French toast and over easy eggs, and one with pancakes and scrambled eggs. The presentation was simple and the food was basic. I ordered a gyro omelette, and thought the eggs were thinner than most omelettes (about the thickness of a crepe), however the ingredients stuffed inside were pretty good and filing. I went with an omelette over the burrito because it came with home fries, which ended up being pretty good. Most dishes did not come with home fries/hash browns, and the griddle meals my folks got did not come with toast. If you are looking for a traditional breakfast that is just enough to fill you up for a reasonable price, this may be just the spot for you! read more

Just finished lunch, had a cheese steak. Asked for no onions, nor green peppers and if possible Seasoned salt.......was told they had "No seasonings." Fine......out came the sandwich,....with chopped onions and peppers...took 10 min to ick them all out.....luckily it was not an allergy but a preference.......very little meat but cooked well on a ok roll. After standing outside, checking in 3 times, being assured that they wouldn't forget us, and waiting 45 minutes, we went in to let them know that we were leaving only to find out they had already scratched us off the list. It's clean and neat. The hours are breakfast and lunch and it has an American diner feel and theme. The menu is typical and what I'd expect. I came in and was dryly greeted. I felt like I should have walked in the back door. I seated myself. I got a bad vibe walking in. Well I walked in at 12:40. In passing, not a stop/greeting/welcome the waitress plopped the menu on my table and hollered her request for my drink order. She didn't crack a smile. Water, brought with no straw. I reviewed the menu, found something appealing, proceeded to keep my head up for the waitress. She walked by quickly four times seemingly avoiding eye contact. The food runner was a bit more friendly. I approached the counter to ask if I could order. I noticed my waitress jaw jacking with someone who was important enough to sit in a section that I was told was closed. A few moments later she came to take my order. Food was brought out for others and I waited about 15 mins before I asked could I have my food to go and pay. I was told it wasn't close to being ready. I left clarifying that I had no more time to wait. The service is curt here, I probably will not be returning. Two stars because I didn't get to try the food and it was the waitress that ruined my experience. read more

My wife and I were customers of the downtown location back in the seventies. We decided to rekindle some memories and try the Saginaw location for the first time on Monday, January 7. We walked in at 1:40pm (thinking they closed at 3pm but Monday's it's 2pm) and the hostess told us two seat ourselves. We then heard her tell Stamati there were two customers to which he yelled "Are you Serious" and her replying "Sorry". Stamati we get it and realize you wanted to shut things down but perhaps the message that you did not want our business could have been conveyed in a more professional manner. So much for nostalgia and there are too many other options to be treated like we were a bother. read more

I love this diner. I love it so much that last year, for my birthday, when I could have gone somewhere price-y and hifalutin I decided to come here instead. Yes. It is just that good. I live and die by their Greek Omelette. It's simple, with just spinach, feta, and tomato, but it is absolutely the best. I crave it. I think I would eat it every single day, if I could. This is a decent place to go for breakfast or lunch with family or friends. I have no complaints about the food. But the waitresses that are employed at this restaurant are ruining its reputation and are causing it to lose my business. There were 2 other tables with other people dining in....so they were slow to say the least. Every time I've gone in it's been the same terrible attitude from any waitress I've had. They seem burdened to take your order, make sarcastic remarks, and are so impolite it's uncomfortable whenever they come to your table. This needs to change. read more

Tried to get into Denny's with 8 people, 2 high chairs. It was a zoo and they were freaked out. Called Dimitris, they said come on over, no wait. Tentatively (we were a big group) we went. Not only did they have us all set up when we walked in, but greeted us warmly, hostess immediately got us drinks, and gave us THE best waitress. Used to be a regular but food is inconsistent- sometimes par for the course with indi business. There is often profanity coming from the kitchen. I've always tolerated it because I like the wait staff. However, I asked for a sandwich with no Mayo. The sandwich arrived with Mayo so I sent it back for correction. The owner came out, I thought to say sorry- so I smiled and said "sorry I just don't like Mayo" he then verbally accosted me telling me to get out of his restaurant. That I "pulled the same crap at Bob Evans" (I doNt eat there and have no idea what he was talking about). He is a big guy, yelling, pointing his finger down at me , kinda blocked me in my booth seat and to a single woman eating alone - he was scary. He repeatedly told me I should be embarrassed (for asking the food I ordered and would be expected to pay for be correct?) I wasn't embarrassed despite his trying to make me so and because clearly his tantrum had nothing to do with me. I'd often heard him shouting at his staff (as he was doing this day when I walked in) they have also commented on his yelling in past. I felt awful for the waitress who was apologizing profusely but as quietly as possible so as not to throw fuel on his fiery temper. So I won't be returning as he requested and I would say to anyone else the waitstaff is friendly but don't expect your food to be right even if ordered correctly and use caution if something needs to be returned cuz this guy Stamati is his name - is a hot head that doesn't care about customer service, respect for his workers or consistency and quality of the food he puts out. read more

Family members, in company opted for French Toast and were disappointed as well. The staff was very friendly; the establishment was clean.
