Have been dealing with slow running pipes in upstairs shower and tub ever since the 90s. Consider myself somewhat handy, so devised my own methods to deal with it and the old piping over the years, putting off that the piping probably needs to be changed out. Well last week, my "maintenance" remedies no longer worked, and my shower in one room and tub in the other room, would not drain at all. So, after messing with it for years, I decided to call in the pros. I wanted to keep my money in the local economy, so called Dimond Plumbing and Heating. Got a call back from Michael, who explained he was booked for now, but with the info I left him on the phone, he began to chat with me and ask questions about my situation. He ended up giving me his years of experience on my issue, as well tips from being familiar with the houses in the area. After about a 20 minute phone call, he left me with what his best recommendation was to fix my problem! I was blown away! He could not take the job, but basically did, as he told me what he thought needed to be done! What extraordinary customer service! Now here is the kicker: 2 days later, he called me back and left a voicemail asking if I had done what we discussed, and if it worked! Wow! You just don't see that type of service anymore. Since his recommendation DID work, I am sorry that the only "payment" he gets from helping me is this rating, but believe me.......if I have any future plumbing or heating issues that I can't tackle, you know who I will be calling! Mike saved me from having to buy a new toilet! Another company had said the physical object in the toilet was irretrievable, and that we'd need to replace it. I called Mike, and before he would even give me a quote on toilet replacement, he said he'd try and come over and get the object out. Top line: WOW! Our guest toilet sprung a leak in the water supply pipe at about 9:30pm on Sunday, which meant we had to turn off the main water supply to our home. Needless to say, we needed someone fast! We left a message for Dimond and were called back early the next morning by Mike, who was ready to come out and address the problem. That prompt response alone was pretty amazing, but here is where Dimond really shined... My husband provides expert testimony and had to be in court on Monday, and I am conducting field work 60 miles away from our house each day - so neither of us could be home to meet Mike. We made arrangements to leave the keys under the door, and also let Mike know that we had a very large, but friendly dog who would be greeting him when he arrived. Mike was totally cool with all of that, arrived after both of us had left, and had everything fixed (including a small fix to our master bathroom toilet that we requested at the last minute) by the time we arrived home from work. He called my husband and gave a detailed account of everything he'd done, and we were able to pay him by credit card over the phone. (A very fair price too.) Had a backed up kitchen sink ongoing problem. Kept trying the chemicals to try to dissolve the clog. Even snaked as much as I could from the flush out. Got a bunch out, but still no dice. Mike came out promptly at the appointment time, muscled the clog out (it was really far back and tough) for cheaper than other called companies, and gave me a discount as a first-timer. Unlike other vendors who needed to send someone out for an estimate (for a fee), Mike gave me a price range for replacing my leaky sink pipes with new, metal ones over email. These guys never pick up the phone. It goes to the same cell voicemail. Takes them forever to get back to you if they get back at all. You end up playing phone tag....called last Thursday and they scheduled an appointment for today between 9-11A.M.(Wednesday). Never came or called. I called early afternoon and left a message and no one ever called back. I don't know how you stay in business with this kind of customer service. We have now had two experiences with Dimond Plumbing and in both cases we have been very pleased with the results. Dimond replaced two fixtures in our remodeled bathroom and saved us considerable grief, expense, time and money. They pointed out the the fixture we purchased for the shower was a different brand than the one originally installed and that the fittings did not match. They could have just gone in and tore apart our walls and charged us for all the labor to do so BUT, instead they explained that if we had them obtain the same brand as we had (new, of course) they would go get the parts, charge us a minimum markup and install the new parts, as agreed. Wow! I was very impressed and amazed. They actually restored my faith in (some types of) trades people and got a customer for life all in the same job! The other project Dimond just did for us, is something we wanted to do ever since we bought our home and that is the installation of an Earthquake Gas Shut-off Valve. With all the seismic activity we have had recently in our area, the installation was greatly appreciated and apparently it may give us a break on our home owners insurance! I called and left a voicemail and got a call back within only a few hours of my somewhat emergency situation. (Other companies are taking days to call back during this winter and holiday season). Mike is awesome. i called on Monday with a clogged kitchen sink. He couldn't make it Monday but said he could the next day, Tuesday, between 12 and 2. He showed up at 12 and it took only 10 minutes for him to clear my drain. He also pointed out a potential problem if I was not careful in the future with the drain. I tried and tried to clear it myself, but obviously did not know what i was doing. Mike discounted his fee, which I appreciated. Long overdue, but Mike at Dimond plumbing rocks. The water pressure in my house was too high and the water heater busted :( My house was under warranty, so my insurance paid for the water heater replacement. I was told I needed to install a water regulator to prevent this from happening again...of course, not covered by the insurance. The plumber the insurance sent offered to install one for $400. Seemed steep, so I checked yelp and got a few quotes. Mike at Dimond quoted me over the phone, it was the best price and he sent someone out the same day. I was able to pay over the phone with a credit card. Everything went great. Got home from work that night and everything was all taken care off. Easy peesy :) ***Now, almost a year later, the water pressure seems to have dropped. I called Mike to ask how to increase the pressure. He offered to swing by and do it for me! This guy is awesome. What more can I say about Michael and his crew Kit? I spent about 3 months planning on a backyard renovation which included adding a gas line to my fireplace so why not add 2 additional connections for a BBQ and fire pit. Kit came on scene and provided a honest quote for approximately 1 day of work. I accepted and the job was completed professionally and quickly. There was just 1 minor glitch but Michael made sure it was taken cared of within 24hrs. So far this has been the simplest part of the renovation.
