I think we've eaten this pizza 4 times in the last two weeks, since I first heard about them. It's DELICIOUS! And a great spot for gf and/or vegan folks to get their pizza fix! This place is great! I've had the chance to eat their pizza(s) at multiple friend gatherings, but I finally went there for myself. I love that they are all vegan/vegetarian! I know other reviewers weren't happy about that, but personally, I don't eat much meat, so it doesn't bother me. You can get amazing pizza without hiding behind the sausage and pepperoni. Parking around here kind of really sucks, but as a Bay native, I know that's just everywhere in Oak/Berk area. Especially on a Friday night, which is when I went. A lot of people just double-park in front of the place. Once I made it inside, there was a really long line, but it moved quickly. Unless you have a complicated order, they pretty much just hand over your food as soon as you're done paying. It's awesome - so fast! The woman at the counter was so sweet and warm (I think her name is Gloria???). That woman deserves a raise. She loves her customers and it shows. What a wonderful face to have at your establishment. She even gave me a few extra slices with my half pizza. I ordered the pizza of the day which was Roma Tomatoes, Red Onions, Mozzarella, Jalapeño Jack Cheese, Italian Parsley, Garlic Olive Oil. Reminiscent of a classic margherita, mmmm, my favorite. Delicious flavor and the crust is sourdough-based which adds something different and very much welcome. There is a new daily pizza of the day which you can find on their website. And make sure you don't sleep on the green sauce! Being from Chicago makes me a pretty harsh critic when it comes to pizza especially if it doesn't include deep dish options or too many bells and whistles. Don't get me wrong, I have to be flexible living in California now so that all being said, if you are looking for simple tasty no frills, fresh ingredients pizza, this is the place! My sister and I personally love the Sunday pizza of the day, the tomato and we went on a Saturday disappointed because we thought it was the day of the tomato pizza but even though it wasn't the pizza of the day, they still made it for us no extra charge!!!! There is so much seating everywhere making it easy to eat here with big groups! They have vegetarian pizzas that rotate daily and you can be in and out within 5-10 minutes depending on the line as they are always firing pizzas. This is a great deal on great quality pizza with great customer service. We ordered the whole pie for pickup this past Saturday and had a wonderful experience. Easy to order through Yelp and at the $20 price point this is a win! There is street parking available. As soon as my partner came back to the car I was overtaken with the delicious aroma of the fresh pizza. I was even more overjoyed that we were given three of the green sauces! Highly recommend using the sauce it is cilantro-y and gives a nice tang to each bite of 'za. Similar to other East Bay establishments like Arizmendi and Cheese Board, Dimond does one vegetarian pizza of the day, daily offerings can be found on their website. They do also offer vegan pizzas. I do have to strongly disagree with one recent review below which compares them to Little Cesar's - this is far from the truth. I will note that this is a thinner style crust (not cornmeal not Neapolitan) it is a sourdough. So if you do like the chewier, doughier crusts you could be disappointed. I came to Dimond Slice because I had a Cheeseboard craving that needed to be filled during quarantine. I saw that their pizza of the day was a potato corn pizza and was instantly sold. My friend and I ordered two whole pies for four people (even though we probably should have just ordered 1 whole pizza if I'm being honest) and a tub of the green sauce. When we got home to eat, we noticed that one of the pizzas was missing corn. They do give extra slices with your order though! The pizza was definitely good--I wouldn't necessarily say it was life-changing, but it was definitely solid. The green sauce is a little chunkier than I imagined. It kind of reminded me of a chimichurri sauce. Overall, was happy with my experience here. Parking wasn't too bad. It's only street parking, but we were able to find some with no issue. After visiting this establishment for a few years, I'll be giving my business to competitors moving forward. My last visit was probably in 2019 so this review is overdue (and changes in management/service might have been made). Main points: - I remember picking up a pie one night and a staff behind the counter mentioned there being a "give away" event and to contact him for more info. I called next week and the lady who answered it said there was never such a thing. I'm not going to imply anything, but I did find it a little strange (esp the offer/give away in general). - There's been times where the pizzas were a little inconsistent - crust/pizza is too thick, toppings were lacking, distribution of ingredients could've been better. Compared to its competitors, they're lacking in this department. - Customer service has gone down. I remember asking for extra green sauce and the lady behind the counter said "Do you have extra green sauce money?!" in a super snarky tone. Competitors usually don't charge extra but even if they were, I don't think that was the tone that I'd appreciate. I wish I could support a local/neighborhood business but unfortunately it will not be this one. read more

I appreciate the daily changing menu, the lightness of the ingredients, the gluten-free crust option, and the flavorful salsa verde as a dipping sauce. I was a big fan of the Cheeseboard Collective back in the day when I was still a student. It's great to see Dimond Slice carry on that tradition in its own way, and I love that it's so accessible to where I am. We ordered Dimond Slice a couple times via DoorDash when we first moved in. I second the other reviewer's comments about the Arizmendi/Cheese Board vibes -- because of the sourdough crust. Dimond Slice is a lot closer to my home than the other options, and I love their green sauce, which you can't get at Arizmendi. I think it's a chimichurri? But I'm not sure. There's a bit of a kick to it. Now the vegan pizza. I am not a fan of Daiya at all, so I took my chances on the Butcher's Son cashew based cheese. I place my ordered through DoorDash and made a note of my cheese choice option. And it was SO good. Usually when I'm eating vegan cheese, all I can think about is how much I miss dairy cheese. Not the case here. I got a half order of pizza. I'm not sure if they switch up the vegan pizza the same way they do the vegetarian pizza. The one I got today was simple, with mushrooms and spinach. I'm also not sure if there's any sauce on the pizza at all, or if the cashew cheese is where the creaminess comes from. I would have liked a bit more sauciness that you get from their vegetarian options. THE DRINKS They have a good drink selection. Better than most pizza shops. I ordered a Bundaberg ginger beer. We walked in without knowing what this restaurant did. We knew we wanted pizza and we are vegetarians, someone told us to go here, so we did. Honestly, the menu confused the hell out of us. They have the pizza of the day, and they have a cheese pizza. That's it, those are your pizza choices. You can change it up by using vegan cheese. They have Daiya cheese or Butcher's Son cheese. We ordered a pizza of the day, half a cheese, and a salad. The pizza of the day was fantastic. It had potatoes, Mexican peppers, and feta. I'm sure there were other things, but that's all I'm remembering. I would gladly eat that pizza any day. We got the cheese pizza just in case our kids hated the special.
