We have been going here ever two years. The "Mai Tai," is so good and strong. Need an IV for it. I like their food, specifically the sandwiches and hot dogs and potato salad. Sometimes service seems a little particular, but if your on vacation time is of no matter. read more

My hubby and I were looking for a quick dinner but didn't want to venture too far from our Sugar Beach condo so we stopped in at Dina's Sandwitch. Hubby got the special which was fish (I think mahi mahi) burger while I opted for a turkey wrap. The meals came with a choice of potato or macaroni salad and a big juicy dill pickle. The fish burger was two thumbs up as was the the potato salad and pickle. The wrap was very heavy on the mayo but other than that it was a good meal. Prices in Maui are generally pretty high so for a simply dinner, it was on the expensive side...but that's typical for the area. I'd still go back but it wouldn't be super high on the list. read more

I have been to Maui several times and Dina's was always on the list. Food is good and reception has always been welcoming. Unfortunately that changed today when we were treated extremely rudely at 4:30pm on 10/22/2018. Kids were yelled at and treated rudely for no reason at all. Today was the last day I step foot in Dina's. Very disappointed. read more

We work right next door to Dina's, I have spent LOTS of $ over the years. The Food is always large portions and fresh. They make their own Salads and Dressings. Dollar bill cover the walls. They have color markers for you to use. They get the local crowd as well as the tourist crowd as they are located inside the Sugar Beach Resort on the edge of Kihei. My favorite is the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, it's all about the Bun; it's a honey-wheat bun and soooo good. We went in here 3 times. Jan is by far the better bar tender/server. One lady was a bit unfriendly...that was a day that Jan was off. Portions are big, so two can share a sand which. Potato salad was a bit much with mustard. The pasta salad was the better choice. I would like to see the prices cut down a bit. As $12.99 is very expensive. More people would actually eat there if the prices were lower. We heard people next to us say that they were just going to have a beer and eat somewhere else. The Reuben we ordered on our 3rd visit was burnt (the bread). I wanted to send it back but hubby was upset that it was even served to us. For that, I'm taking a star away. The cook needs to pay more attention to the food she puts out. Or people won't come back. read more

This place is pretty cool! We stayed at the Sugar beach resort and this little hole in the wall bar/sandwitch shop is right on the property (about 20 feet from our room). Good priced beers and funny drink names. My mom and I came here a couple times just to have some beers and another time to have some appetizers as well. The loaded potato skins are interesting, I recommend asking whats on them before ordering them. The ladies that work here are super nice and there are a lot of locals that come by here for a drink at night. More of an older crowd but still fun nonetheless! read more

After reading the reviews on Yelp, I had to go find this place, hidden behind Sugar Beach Resort. So glad I did, as it's a perfect little neighborhood beach bar cafe, with a quirky ambience, friendly staff and great food. Nice selection of tropical drinks at the full bar, so my husband was happy to hang out here as often as possible. Tucked into the Sugar Beach Resort in North Kihei this place seemed to have a pretty steady flow of customers. We were staying at the Sugar Beach Resort and read about Dina's Sand Witch in the "Maui Revealed" guidebook so it was a no brainer to make time to go try it. We went in twice, but never met Dina herself. When we were there the bartender, waitress, busser, and takeout server was Jan. She manned the entire front of the restaurant herself and was definitely slammed with a full restaurant when we were there. We were in no hurry and could see how hard she was working so when it took her 10 minutes to get to us for drink orders it was not a big deal. Hey at least we had seats. After our order got put in it didn't take too long for the cook in the back to put them together. We had the turkey sandwich, a tuna sandwich, and I ordered the king size saimin. The sandwiches were all relatively large and tasted fresh and homemade. Potato salad (everyone in the party ordered potato salad) and pickle were included with the sandwiches. They were also tasty. I wanted to get the saimin because noodle soup is a comfort food for me and I read that they had "the best saimin on Maui" in the "Maui Revealed" guidebook. I'd have to say it was just okay. I didn't have saimin anywhere else on the island so I can't comment on the guidebook's recommendation, but the broth was reminiscent of a Udon broth while the noodles themselves were nothing to write home about, even a little mushier than the noodles in a Cup O' Noodles. The included Japanese fishcake and potstickers were passable, but no better than what you'd get from the frozen case at the local supermarket. The drinks were pretty strong and on the cheap side for non happy hour. Mai Tai's were comparable to the "house" recipe at several local Kihei establishments. If you're in North Kihei and are looking for a drink or a sandwich Dina's will fit the bill. If it's crowded and only one person is manning the entire front of the restaurant and you're not feeling patient, do yourself a favor and go outside, call in your order and go enjoy the beach until your food is ready. read more

Great place to eat! The waitress who helped us both times we were here was really sweet. The food was good and filling- the potato salad is to die for! They let you split your side and get both potato and pasta salad, which is good for indecisive people! The prices are affordable and it's open pretty late too :) If we ever get back to Maui, I know we'll be eating here again! read more

I have been going here for almost 20 years. I love the food and leave big tips. Left a ton of moneyfor tips. Even though we were ignored for almost forty minutes. Again left a big tip, and then my husband said when he went back that we only let a two dollar tip. We have let double tips for service that sucks. read more

Dina's is a wonderful place to eat. We both had great experience there at lunch yesterday. I had a mahi-mahi sandwich and my wife had a French dip sandwich. Both were very well-made and very tasty. We have tried a lot of so-called mom-and-pop places and have been fairly disappointed. This is not the case with Diana's. It was very enjoyable extremely friendly and very good service. read more

Average prices. Basic sandwiches for ~$10. The sandwiches were good but nothing to write home about. They come with a side of potato or pasta salad. They have a special of the day. There were locals hanging out in the bar when we were there. They offer take out and there are right by the beach and a resort so I imagine they would be good for a quick bite when you are out in the waves. read more

A funky tucked away restaurant and bar at Sugar Beach. We ordered the Hoagey and Club house sandwiches with their homemade pasta salad. Both sandwiches were enormous and delicious and could be split if you're not a big eater. We will be back again!! read more

I came into your establishment this morning for a beer and came up against 3 local couples. Ironically they could order a beer and a chaser ...so did I subsequently and thought all is well. this was around 11:00 am and quickly saw I was in the company of locals and not welcome as it was obvious to your workers. The bartender seemed rude, but short.....later at 6:00 pm after spending many hours walking on the beach and letting my wife drive to many beaches we decided to eat dinner and order i ordered her lunch and bring her back her food so I went to your establishment. I was treated rude and not allowed a second drink although I saw many, many other local others do so. I have been here 10 times at sugar beach and have never over drank due to my health. I am insulted and will tell all of my many friends at Sugar Beach about this. Unless I hear from you or your bartender I will spread the word. this is un-acceptable, but please hire more Professional employees for all my fellow cohorts at sugar beach avoid this place if you are not local and want to feel friendly and not allowed with the local crazies, several not looking safe,......my humble opinion only. read more
