After a rigorous workout, I visited DiNico's Pizza on Christmas Day! I must say that I was bound to visit at some point because its location sits along Roosevelt Rd inside of Berwyn Towne Square, a route I drive regularly. If you have tunnel vision as it is easy to have while driving along Roosevelt Rd then you just might miss the storefront of DiNico's Pizza, so keep an eye out for Berwyn Towne Square, or GameStop which stands out within. A cool fact about DiNico's is that it is open 24 hours a day. As for my visit, I was acknowledged by the employee shortly after I walked in and up to the counter to look at the display of the pizzas. It always takes me some time to look, especially when I am unfamiliar with the restaurant itself. With little options featured in the display, I ended up ordering a slice of Chicago-style deep dish stuffed pizza - cheese since it was the only one that captured my interest as a vegetarian. I was out as quickly as I entered DiNico's, but prior to leaving with my order, I took notice of the number of tables and seats available inside of the dine-in area of this restaurant. Once I arrived at my residence, I opened the container to look at the slice that was given. Instead of receiving one slice of pizza, I was given two slices which I was thankful for because I was hungry after my workout. Hmmm, I guess Chicago-style deep dish stuffed pizza - cheese was not a popular option on Christmas Day? But anyway! Two slices for the price of one! Yass, honey I will take it! And the slice of Chicago-style deep dish stuffed pizza tasted delightful; both slices of pizza replenished the well-needed calories that I lost during my workout, tehehe. Being that I had a good experience, I am very well open to visiting DiNico's Pizza again whether it be on a holiday like this visit, or any other day throughout the week when I am in the area. With that, I share my endorsement of DiNico's as well with you all; DiNico's is well worth the visit if you love pizza as much as I do. Used to order from here all the time, but after multiple bad experiences, we're moving on. The dough was severely undercooked - like it was soft . When you bit into it you can see the dreaded "gum line" that indicates under, incorrectly, or poorly cooked/prepared dough. Even after we put it in the oven to finish cooking, the texture was off. They always say it will be delivered within the hour but it has consistently taken longer than that despite the fact that it's less than 10 min away.

I will recommend DiNico's to just about anyone... the service is good and the food, even better. They have a small area to dine in but always a good time. If I'm here past 11pm at night, it feels like heaven at first but then I definitely feel it in the morning. No regrets though (haha). Recently went and ordered (for two), spicy bbq wings boneless, fries, and a slice and it came out to about $23. Good price for two people and plenty of food (to take home too). I'm always going to give a place 5 stars if they go above & beyond with their service and this day they did. Our wings were forgotten about & the apologized many times & offered us cheesecake on the house. How thoughtful & great service. Because of this, I will be back many times & tell everyone about DiNico's. Personal Review: 8.4/10

The food and drinks were excellent, a nice blend of latin/Spanish and Italian. Everything was well presented. The tropical mezcal cocktail was a great cocktail that is perfect for summer - moderately sweet and citrusy with the Smoky essence. The crispy octopus was unique and flavorful. My entrée was the house gnocchi. The gnocchi is made with beef short rib. Honestly, the best gnocchi that I have ever had. I paired it with a Primitivo, which was amazing by itself but was slightly too sweet for the gnocchi. I wound up getting a key lime cheesecake. It was a beautiful slice. The service was impressive. The restaurant is teeny, tiny. The are 2 booths, one on each side of the wine cooler. 2 adults cannot sit comfortably on one side ~ 1 adult and 1 child is the max. Also, at the booths, the table is very far away from the bench. You have to move forward to the front edge of the bench to eat over the table. They are a BIG miss ~ so I recommend avoiding them. However, the rest of the tables are on top of one another, so do not expect to have a private, quiet conversation, while not being bumped by a server or someone trying to leave their table. Saturday night was packed with people waiting, standing right over the tables closest to the door. I know nothing can be done to accommodate as many diners as possible. Do not expect the usual Italian meal. Do not go hungry because no one leaves with a doggie bag. A side of asparagus consisted of 4 small spears for $10. A lot of fish on the menu. New to me, balsamic drizzled on top of your vanilla gelato as dessert. The "special" guava cheesecake was special because it consisted of pastry shells with whipped cream not a forkful of cheesecake to be found. Food was good, service was excellent, most interesting interpretation of Italian fusion.

The bread service was fantastic. The tomato focaccia and the baguette were both excellent and I had to remind myself not to fill up on it before the main meal! LOL! We started with the calamari which was very well seasoned and clearly not the typical frozen version you often see from foodservice distributors. It tasted fresh, was crispy, and well prepared. For dinner I ordered the margherita pizza which was simple and delicious. I ended up ordering a second one to-go for my partner who couldn't make it to dinner. He also loved it - even after it sat for ~30 min or so while we chatted more, then drove home to the Maywood area. I would imagine their delivery is pretty good based on that! My mom had the rigatoni vodka with added crumbled Italian sausage which she loved, and my dad ordered the Marcelino. He loved the generous amount of seafood and how well seasoned it was. My parents are big wine drinkers and my dad was especially impressed with the wine list and the selection available. Oscar was an incredible server!! He struck the perfect balance of being attentive while still letting us enjoy a relaxed, unhurried evening. The support staff and food runners were also fantastic and very friendly, making the entire service experience feel polished! I also loved the kitchen was more open which gives you confidence in the quality and care that goes into the food. The dining space is inviting with a nice bar area and an additional room that looks perfect for busy nights or private gatherings. Overall a great restaurant that we would absolutely return to!!
