I wouldn't know how the food is because this established denied entry to my service dog and refused to serve me. They stated that because the animal wasn't wearing a vest it's not a service dog. Both the federal government and state of California prohibit a business for asking for identification in the form of a vest or papers. My animal wasn't wearing a vest as it's not required and she wears a specific halter for her car seat. I will be filing a complaint with the US department of justice and likely seeking legal compensation. I have video footage of the employee denying entry and berating me in case the owner wants to come on here and claim this is a dishonest review. read more

Less than a mile from home and in the 8 years we have lived here apparently we haven't had a craving for a sandwich until this weekend. Short on time (and on a whim) we ran in... Hubby ordered a pastrami on rye for me and a turkey sandwich for himself, both with fries. Warning, the sandwiches are HUGE, we easily could have split one - Anyway, we ordered ours "to-go". I opened my lunch and tasted the fries first and they were delicious; fresh, crispy, salted perfectly, and so hot they burned my mouth (but that's a good thing). The sandwiches were piled high with meat, hubby's also had lettuce, tomato and red onion. The bread was so fresh and delicious, even the rye was SUPER soft! Today at 1:00 pm the selection of bagels was nil. Everything, onion and only two others. That is not acceptable. I was looking for a jalapeño bagel for a sandwich but had to settle on cream cheese. The food is just ok. The prices only slightly higher than they should be for the food quality. It mostly tastes like what I could make at home and I am just paying for the convenience. Like many others I get frustrated with the fact 1/2 the bagel flavors are gone by 8 AM -- including plain which is like...what??? And stop making blueberry bagels or other fruit flavored bagels in quantity -- they are always the only thing left. I have a vegan daughter and we ordered a veggie burrito no egg and no cheese. Pretty simple order. Except I guess it is harder than I think because it came with egg. And this is after an extended back and forth about what on the menu might be vegan or vegan adjacent. These bagels were effing delicious! Sorry but no other way to describe them they were so soft, fluffy, and huge! They were brought to the house so not sure about the ambiance/service but the smears were great and almost whipped. I can't believe I've been driving to Noah's all these years! I've been searching for a good...scratch that... "Great Bagel" since I've been here. I found it! I went to Dinks on Newhall Ranch and had the best Onion and also Garlic bagel I've had in years! My wife had a Raisin & a Blueberry Bagel and said the same thing! I have been (in the last 7 days) to both of their locations twice now and found out they're made in their McBean location and sent to Newhall Ranch every morning. I want to thank Shawn, Danielle, & Neki for everything and even REMEMBERING ME! I have read a lot of 1star reviews and just want to mention.... "You Get What You Give" and "You NEVER get a second chance to make a FIRST Impression". I give a FIRST impression EVERY TIME I see someone. I also invented the "Round Bed" for people that wake up on the wrong side every morning! I am not smart but I do have a double Masters Degree in Common Sense! OH!!!! Just wanted to say I was disappointed today. I went by to grab a matzo ball soup as I typically do here and the one I was given had no chicken in it! I know it probably is made in a vat and just ladled into the container upon order but this was a huge bummer. The price has gone up a lot and with tax I paid over $16! NOT SAFE - New Owner/Manager could care less that his cream cheese is rancid. They do not put Food safety and freshness as a concern. If you are purchasing veggie spread this week. I would strongly suggest opening it at the store and tasting it first before you bring it home as it might be rancid. I was a very loyal customer to Dink's for decades. Very sad to see how I was treated by the Owner today and sad that he doesn't put food freshness and safety first. I have been getting bagels and cream cheese from Dink's for decades at all their locations. I have never had any issues and have never complained about anything. Today I purchased a dozen bagels and two cream cheese. We always get the veggie spread. I checked the date and it said it was good until Dec 14th. When I got home and spread it on the bagel the veggie spread was rancid. I brought it back. The Owner/manager was so rude to me and his attitude was NOT concerned at all. I asked him to try it or taste it to see if he can figure out what was wrong with it. He gave me such a nasty look and told me he is too busy and I asked him again - out of concern for other customers who might purchase it from the case where I got mine. He then threw the cream cheese into the trash can. Didn't open it or inspect it to try and figure out why it was rancid. Didn't have any staff pull the cream cheese from the case. He just had someone bring me another one from the kitchen and was beyond rude to me and dismissive. He could have cared less. He did NOT offer apology that I had to waste my time and gas coming back to the store to return it. Did not express concern at all that it was rancid and showed no concern whatsoever. He told me they were fresh and just put them out today. He acted like he didn't even believe me. Honestly. I should have called the Health Department to warn them. I take food safety very seriously. Freshness and safety. And if cream cheese is rancid, I would want to know why and immediately pull all containers from the case so that it doesn't happen to another customer. Both of my grandparents were business owners. I rarely complain about something. In this case I felt that other customers were at risk as he did NOT show any concern or do anything to inspect the rancid cream cheese. After I left the store, I was so upset how the owner treated me like this and upset that he showed no concern for food safety. I called back and expressed how upset I was. He could have cared less. I told him I will Never come to this location again. He said that he didn't care. My advice to the owner/manager would be to first and foremost take his customers complaints seriously and show them you care. Not make sour nasty faces at them and treat them like they are meaningless. Just because you are busy and full with customers - every customer should be important to you. Food safety - if someone tells you something is bad, please stop what you are doing and pull all possible rancid products from the case immediately. read more

I have been going to Dinks for a tuna salad sandwich on a bagel for months, sometimes I go twice a week. Today is going to change all of that! I ordered my usual tuna salad on a bagel. There was almost NO tuna on it and the bagel was burnt. Because I have a short lunch I was willing to eat the burnt bagel BUT when I asked for a little more tuna Danielle the manager said "not without an additional charge " she then told me the amount of tuna is always the same. NO WAY today there was 1/2 the amount I usually get.
