From Dion's on High Resort, we just got the best pizza we've EVER had! Regular pizzas at pizza joints now are saucy crusts with see through shredded cheese and micro thin pepperoni one to a slice. The food at this Dion's is good but these past few weeks the service and wait times have been unacceptable and today was particularly egregious I was up at the drive thru and they told me I would have to wait because the order wasn't quite ready which is fine but where it all goes wrong is when the manager comes out to tell me that my wait will be long because they had just started my order as I pulled up, To his credit the manager did what he could to remedy the situation but still it's unacceptable to start on an order just as you're pulling up and I can forgive a one time slip up but like I said it's been a trend at this particular Dion's location the past few weeks so for now I'll be moving to the Cabezon location until this Dion's gets it together. read more

My go to is the Turkey and Swiss sub paired with chips! Something about their chips makes it so good. I also usually don't like mustard but I couldn't really tell in the sun which make it delicious! Could not leave NM and not have some Dions. Years ago, Dions was always the birthday go to place for my kids birthday parties. I'll never forget it. I had a medium pepperoni and sausage pizza. I went plain because I was sharing with my 2 year old granddaughter. My usual pizza is the Carnevour Pizza. Yeah, I spelled it wrong. But I'm sure you know what I mean. Lol. Epic fail Called in order for pick up so went thru drive thru. Picked up order and on the drive away I take a sip of my tea. (Bleh!!!!) I ordered a large UNSWEETENED tea with extra ice and lemon and got a sweet tea! My taste buds were not expecting the intensity of sugar. I was not happy. I am quite a distance away but would still like to get what I ordered so I called back spoke to a manager and asked if I could get an unsweetened tea thru the drive thru again. Granted I have somewhere to be and all this back and forth is frustrating, time wasting and my pizza is getting cold. Went back got the correct tea... I should be happy however I get to my destination to eat cold pizza, and there was no napkins in the bag and no fork to eat my salad. I had to order here because of the big mess at cottonwood. Everyone was really nice and they initially had me wait on the side for my pizza. I had been waiting about 10 minutes so I went in to check on the order. It turns out it was ready but just was placed with the rest of my order on the side. The person who I assume was a manager was super apologetic and was kind about the situation even though I wasn't upset as it was a simple mistake and was a great experience from what I had at the cottonwood. I also love their green Chile ranch it is delicious with a little bit of spice but if anything can make ranch better it's green chile. I love that it is drive thru! The food's great, don't get me wrong. It's even better when it's actually made the way you ordered it. I ordered my sub online; specifically removed the olives, pickle and onion from the order. Head there at my pickup time and was quickly greeted by a gal at the counter. Called for drive in delivery at 4:00 on a Tuesday afternoon. Was told it would be 25 minutes before it was ready. Got there in 30 minutes to pick up and paid for the order. We were told to drive to a parking spot for a couple of minutes and they would bring it out. We waited 25 minutes in the truck and finally called to see if they had forgotten us. Matthew said it would be 5-6 more minutes because they were waiting on the subs??? We got the order 10 minutes later which was one hour from the time we placed the order. I had my pizza a few days ago (just now able to write my review), and I have to say Love the pizza here. I always get the Dion's Special and it's always good. That being said, I will point out that the way it's cooked varies depending how busy they are (at least I presume that's why it varies), so sometimes it's really well done (not burnt) and others the crust is just barely finished (but it is done). Personally, it doesn't matter much to me (as long as it's within that range (and it always is). I mentioned it because my wife comments on it each time. She prefers the more well done, she explains that it's because of the way the crust turns out. Therefore I felt the need to point it out. If you call / online in your order, I do recommend arriving at least 5 minutes before the expected pick up time at the busy times (as the line often stretches around the building). I don't really eat in very often, so I'm afraid I can't offer much of a view on that. Overall, best pizza in town, and I highly recommended it. read more

This is honestly the best Dion's this side of the Rio Grande. I would strongly recommend ordering through the app. They have updated it so you can choose what you want and remove what you don't. How do I love thee Dion's? Let me count the ways... 1) The pizzas, oh my lord, the pizzas! I'm partial to the Special myself, my boyfriend prefers his with just pepperoni, and my 10 year old likes pepperoni, black olives and pineapple. Whole, or by the slice, no matter how you like your pizza, Dion's has you covered. They even have a few specialty pizzas (not to be confused with the Special) for those with more sophisticated tastes. 2) The sandwiches! Mmmmmmm, sandwiches.... Delicious pastrami, yummy ham, tasty turkey, roast beef, meatball, and veggie subs, all on bread baked fresh daily (by the Dion's Commissary, but more on that in a minute). Served in 6", and 10" sizes, with your choice of chips, a fruit cup, or their very own kool slaw. Even better is the easy to understand, and totally reasonable pricing for said sandwiches. No matter which side or sandwich you choose, all 6"'s are the same price, and all 10"'s also have their own (slightly higher, of course) price. 3) And who could forget the salads? Fresh lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and mix (diced cucumber, bell pepper, and red onion pieces all mixed together), served in the 1/2, full, family, and ginormous party sizes, these salads come in a variety of different permutations. Ranging from the simplest tossed salad (aka vegetarian as there is no meat or cheese on it), to the more standard ranch (pastrami and shredded provolone), turkey (same as the ranch but with turkey instead of pastrami), and chef (ham, cheddar, and topped with a hard boiled egg slice) salads, to the slightly more refined Greek salad (black olives and feta cheese), just like their pizzas, and sandwiches, their salads have a little something for everyone. 4) The fact that ALL of their meats, cheeses, bread, sauce, and veggies are delivered fresh every morning from their very own commissary. The only thing that doesn't come from their commissary is the (pizza) dough, and that's because every store makes their own dough fresh every day. 5) They're a local, home grown business to whom customer service is of the utmost importance. Are they perfect? No. It's a business run by humans, mistakes happen. But any time I've ever had a problem (and I could probably count the number of problems I've had on one hand), when that issue was brought to their attention, they went above and beyond to make it right. So, if I love Dion's so much, why only 4 stars, instead of 5? This is a new location, and as such it seems they're experiencing some not atypical growing pains. On the occasions we've eaten here since they opened we've had a few minor issues, but nothing I don't expect they'll get over as those who work here get used to the new place. Overall, my love for Dion's has not wavered, and I recommend them to anyone looking for a fresh, delicious, family friendly, pizza/salad/sandwich joint. read more

I didn't know New Mexico knew how to make pizza so well! I kept seeing Dion's while driving all over New Mexico and thought this must be the local hot spot for pizza. The hubby and I decided to give it a try for dinner one night and ordered a large pepperoni pizza and the house lemonade. The house lemonade was delicious and the refills are free, which is an awesome plus! After waiting about 15 minutes our pizza came out hot and greasy! We got the large and shouldn't have. The large is enough to feed about 3-4 people. I must admit I ate 3 slices on my own, which is a bit abnormal for me, but it was so good. I'm usually all about Dions. But. The one on Unser in Rio Rancho is horrible. I called in my order ahead of time. Medium pepperoni and ham pizza and half chef salad. It took 58 minutes from the time of the call to get the pizza. Not to mention it's a large. And the salad tastes like it was made when I called - an hour ago. They offered me free cheese bread for for the inconvenience. I declined but appreciated the gesture. I told her I do not eat carbs I follow a strict keto diet. This is MY Dion's! I love all Dion's locations but the one on Unser is my favorite! The people there are great! They know my name, my order and that I'm a regular. 1. The Pizza -- You would be hard to rival Dion's as the best pizza in New Mexico. First of all, the slices and the pie itself rare huge. The crust is baked to the perfect temperature and all of the ingredients are fresh and abundant! If you are a green chile fan, you can't pass up this opportunity. 2. The Subs -- I would rather have a sub at Dion's than anywhere else. The bread is so fresh and just like their pizza, it's made to perfection! The meat and cheese fill up the bottom half nicely and then fresh veggies top it off. All of that and you can chips of fruit with it and I still spend less than at other sub shops! 3. The Salads/Dressings -- What I love about a Dion's salad is how diverse the selection is. You can have a zesty savory salad or a sweet and crunchy salad. I am always filled! I have never had a salad that was fresher or tastier. I think another signature of Dion's is their salad dressings. I love how you can get a sealed side cup for pizza, sandwich, or salad, and then bring home a bottle! They are the perfect compliment to any meal. 4. Prices/Atmosphere -- Dion's gives you a whole lot of food at a low cost. You can get pizza and salad or a sub and salad for less than $10 and still have room for one of their amazing cookies.
