We couldn't find anyone to help us get into a fitting room, so I used one that was wide open with no sign indicating it was reserved or unavailable. A few minutes later, a personal shopper named Bing came over and told me I had to get out because she needed the room for her clients. What shocked me wasn't that she needed the room, it was that she expected me to leave immediately without even letting me put my own clothes back on. I ended up walking through the store wearing the dress I was trying on while carrying my outfit and bra to another fitting room. It was honestly humiliating. If fitting rooms are reserved for personal shopping, they should be clearly marked or kept closed. And if someone is already inside, the least they deserve is the chance to get dressed before being asked to move. I've always expected better customer service from Bloomingdale's, which made this experience especially disappointing.

Extra bonus is that they stretch out the shoes for you for those that have wide feet. Sam was so helpful and also very quick with bringing out the shoes. My mom does not play when it comes to time management so she was really impressed with Sam and how quick he was able to help her. The entire experience was really calming and pleasant. Thanks Sam!

He told me they were very expensive, intended for marathon runners, and that they generally would not let someone try them if they only planned to use them for walking. He also mentioned that serious buyers might not want a pair after other people had tried it on. I was not even offered one of those dummy shoes for sizing. The way it was said felt dismissive and left me feeling like I had already been judged as someone who was not a serious customer. What confused me most was that a few minutes later, the person shopping with me asked to try the exact same shoe and was allowed to do so immediately, without being questioned about how they planned to use it or being warned about the price. I brought the situation to someone who appeared to be part of the management team. Although she apologized, most of the conversation focused on explaining the store's procedure and suggesting that I could have asked another associate. That did not really address why the same apparent rule was applied differently. They later offered a discount on the other person's purchase and asked whether I still wanted to try the shoe, but by then I no longer felt comfortable shopping for myself.
