First off, this restaurant is beautiful! Decor and ambiance I give it a 10/10. Not lacking in anything in that area. Food was delicious, a little pricey but I'd say worth what we ate with the exception of the smoked guacamole. I was actually expecting smoked avocado but surprised to see basic guacamole brought out in a tray with dry ice I think? for the smoke factor. Nothing special about the guac though. The Enchiladas Del Mar were delicious! Shrimp, in a creamy, spicy Alfredo sauce, and came with side of rice and black beans. I enjoyed my dish very much! Drinks... you get what you pay for in terms of presentation and they are beautiful drinks, definitely worthy of the 'gram. However, I like a stiff drink and two Santorinis later I didn't feel a slight buzz. I'd say the drinks are more on the sweet side but very cute and classy looking. Now the service was lacking from start to finish. I don't know if they were short staffed, but we were a party of 5 and celebrated a friend's birthday and overall, spent MORE than 3 hours at the restaurant from ordering drinks to food to her birthday dessert and splitting the check. While we did fill the time with conversation and enjoy each others company, we couldn't help but comment several times that the service was very, very slow and for us arriving at 6pm for a reservation, at that time the restaurant was not very busy. I was so hungry and as I drove by this place the lights drew my attention. I saw the ratings and thought, I can't be that bad, right? Well, now it makes sense. The restaurant is beautiful, great modern decor, maybe even elegant. Busy for a week night evening, people were nicely dressed, great place for a date, I thought. High expectations. Half way service. Food: the mole enchiladas are good but filled with carne asada and potatoes. The mole has a really good flavor. The guac is smoked (never had it that way before). Great presentation but you can't taste the smokiness. The guac is on the chunkier sides. Skinny margarita has great flavor but the black salt rim is very very salty. I recommend you get it without the rim or ask for a straw. We ordered the churros to go and they do stay fresh. Service: I ordered the mole chicken but was given the mole enchiladas in error. I informed staff that my meal was incorrect and they took it back and brought me back the same plate saying that was what I ordered. I would have appreciated a correction to my meal instead of insisting I didn't know what I ordered. The manager came over to ask if we needed anything and we asked for a box, he went to go get a box and never returned. They did comp my enchiladas. I wouldn't say their service is bad but I think some attention to detail would go a long way. Location: The venue is absolutely gorgeous. Feels like you're in Miami. The tacos were delicious, and I'd definitely reorder them. It's definitely one of the better ones I've had in Downey. Generous amount of meat with a nice char flavor. The empanadas were okay. Didn't like the outer texture or the flavor of the filling much. The sauces they came with were both delicious. Expenses. Worth it? 0/1 Each taco was $12 bucks, and the steak empanadas were $18 bucks (3 mini ones). They include a 3% surcharge on top of your total. To get an idea of how much you'll be spending. The total for 2 modelos beers, 4 asada tacos, one order of steak empanadas, and an iced tea was $92.42 (not including tip). Prices of the food are a bit higher due to the ambiance. To be fair, the location is beautiful. I'm honestly on the fence on whether I think it's worth it. On the one hand, the food was good and the location was nice. However, I think whether coming here is worth it or not will depend entirely on the atmosphere you're looking for. I think this spot would probably work better for a date. For a nice, delicious meal with the family, it felt like too much fluff and noise. I had a good time anyway, but it just wasn't the vibe we were looking for. I think it'll be worth coming here for many since you can get the quality and glitz of Vegas without having to drive there, but for me personally, it was not. Would I go again? * Yes. I came to celebrate my birthday with family during Sunday lunch. The front of the restaurant is really nice - but what was spectacular was the inside. The food was amazing - I ordered the Enchiladas Poblanas (I highly recommend). The cocktails were good, but not the best I've had. However, the presentation of the cocktails was amazing. Typically I'm very generous with my five star rating but the reason I gave Diosa a 4-star rating was due to their service. It was good not great... at least for the expectations that one has when dining at a classy restaurant like Diosa. No one was rude. My cousin and I graduated over the weekend and our moms chose Diosa to celebrate the graduates. WHAT A TREAT! As soon as I walked in I was greeted and checked in with our reservation. I was the first to arrive so I was offered to grab a drink at the bar while I waited. The decor is STUNNING here, absolutely gorgeous place. The vibe, music, all of it WAS HERE. Sorry guys, the food is worth it. It just is. As the graduate, (LOL) I was told to order whatever we wanted. I ORDERED THE TOMAHAWK STEAK AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I ordered mine medium rare (don't ruin perfectly good beef by overcooking y'all) and it was absolutely tender and full of flavor. I tried the sauces that came with it. The chimichurri was my favorite. Seafood paella was delicious. Seafood was fresh, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Chorizo and chicken, the rice?! All of it belongs in my belly. Queso fundido with tortillas, was also a hit for the table. Not pictured but notable mentions go to the guacamole and the Mexican street corn. I didn't get a picture because we ate them ASAP. My aunt ordered the cauliflower garden and added grilled salmon. Whatever they did to that salmon was amazing. Full of flavor, juicy, crispy skin. I ordered the vintage fashion as well, if you're a bourbon lover this was a fun drink to order. They brought it to the table in a glass case with smoke, it smelled awesome and was super fun. Orange peel should have had LESS pith but I'm also a stickler for that. I want little to zero white on my peel if you're gonna have it in there. Either remove the pith or don't add the zest at all. It makes the bourbon bitter in an unpleasant way not like the bitters they used at all. I ordered two to be sure, and the second was PERFECT. Went for dinner on Saturday evening and the place was really busy, there was an hour to 2 hours wait with no reservations, please make a reservation through OpenTable. I of course made a reservation for 8:30 pm and had to wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated. The hostess handed me a small restaurant pager to let me know when my table is ready. I went straight to the bar and I ordered a drink while I sat and waited. My Sister and I were seated finally and our waiter Christian took our food and drink order. We ordered the lobster ceviche and it was delicious! I totally recommend it. Christian was very attentive and friendly. We also ordered the steak empanadas and they were great too. My only complaint is that there should be a dress code. People who come here clearly did not get the assignment about how to dress properly for dinner. We were constantly swatting them away from our food and drinks during our entire time there. It was very annoying. The drinks were pretty pricey but delicious. My food took an additional 30 minutes to come out after everyone else's food came out. I got the vegan version of the paella which was just saffron rice and vegetables so I'm not sure what took so long? All in all the atmosphere and aesthetics were nice but it was pretty pricey. We visited at around 6 pm on Thursday. We didn't need reservations but by the time we left it was pretty packed. Now for the food, keep in mind, I cook most of my meals at home with little to no salt, the food was too salty for me. I'm sure it would be fine for folks that are not sensitive to salt. The food presentation was beautiful, the churros Foster was made right in front of us. A fun experience. I had the pollo mole and ahi tuna tower I also ordered the empanas BUT the menu did not mention they were made with cheese so I had to pass on them. The server removed it from our bill which was nice. The bill says that I did not like them but it wasn't that I didn't like them. I'm sure they're good I just can't eat cheese. This is most definitely an upscale restaurant. The moment you arrive you're greeted by the beautiful exterior. There's a greeter checking people in, you're able to wait inside (if there's room) or outside. We had reservations since we were a party of 8 and didn't have to wait long to be seated. If you're into taking photos for the 'gram' and this is most definitely the place to do it. Service - Our server/waiter was Rogelio, he immediately asked if it was our first time there and we advised him that it was. He gave us a quick background of the restaurant and the cultural influences behind the unique flavor combinations on the menu. He also made sure to let us know they don't hold their food under heat lamps. They want everyone to have their meal as soon as it's ready, so not everyone's food will come out at the same time, but more thank likely within a few minutes of each other. Although I respect this model/approach, in most group settings, everyone waits for one another's meal before they begin eating. So the women at our table who received their food first waited to start eating until the last person received their food. Once the food began coming out, other servers kept coming to our table and asking us if we had ordered different meals. Even after we all received our food, they tried giving us 4 other entrees. I'm not sure if these are new servers or if there was a mix up with the tables. But that got a bit annoying after a while. Drinks - I ordered the Watermelon Paleta ($20) and was pleasantly surprised that I received an actual watermelon paleta with chile in my drink. We ordered a round of Kamikaze's ($13 each) for the table and they were delicious. Multiple women in my group ordered the DIOSA Margarita Flight ($34) and they all enjoyed each one. Someone ordered The Kylie ($19), it tasted like strawberry. I can't remember all of the other drinks ordered, but there were no complaints, they were all delicious. Food - I ordered the Enchiladas del Mar. They weren't the best shrimp enchiladas I've had, I didn't eat about half my plate, which felt like a waste because it's a $49 plate. The two women that ordered the Coco Risotto Salmon ($45) said it was good, but nothing to brag about. One of the women said the Enchiladas Poblanas ($37) were good. There were a couple of orders of the Cast Iron Carnitas ($45) and the women seemed to enjoy that meal. Ambiance - the music was a bit loud so it made it difficult to talk to everyone at the table. I saw this new restaurant, open up near me and decided to give it a try on a Friday evening. The restaurant itself is beautiful -- amazing decorations, Instagram worthy backdrops, and simply stunning architecture. The food and the drinks are definitely on the pricey side so be prepared for that. For the price, I was expecting amazing food, but it was really just ok. We got the steak nachos and the chicken Al Pastor which were not entirely memorable. The drinks were good, and I can see this place being somewhere to grab a few photo worthy cocktails. The best dish was the guava cheesecake-- definitely recommend this if you do check this place out. The service was good, but it was extremely busy that night which is understandable. It was definitely hard to have a conversation or hear each other as there is a live DJ playing very loud music. Don't recommend this place if you like chatting during dinner. I do want to note that it's very very dark in the restaurant in the evening so if you're a fan of looking out what you're eating, you're probably going to have a tough time. My lady and I come to diosa last night for a date night and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent the service was superb our server Juan Antonio did a fantastic job. It's a beautiful restaurant perfect for a date night. A couple of items were a little high in price, but the majority of the menu was appropriately priced, if not underpriced, for the quality and quantity of the food you receive. Chef Hector came out to our table to check personally how we were and asked for feedback on the plates. We didn't have much to say everything was fantastic. From our appetizers (the mango habanero aguachiles and steak empanadas) to the octopus zarandeado and pork shank. Pretty sure it's not legal to block off that many Parking spots by code. Venue - The Place is hands down very upscale, modern , classy, and up to par with today's trends. Good size restaurant with a decent size bar. Prices - I mean the place is beautiful but the prices are pretty high for the location and the quality of food and drinks. 4 people and the tab was over $600, so they need to chill on some of the outrageous prices on some items. Service - Service was good and bad, could definitely use some work. When are server was asked on orders he seemed annoyed (not all his fault, maybe kitchen) but his response could be more professional. Food - Hate how they can arrange for appetizers to come out first, and all entrees at the same time, instead they bring stuff out as its ready. The food was above avg but not great specially for the crazy prices they have. Drinks - Great presentation on most drinks, but some are good and other avg. They also did take a while to bring some of the drinks out, and the prices are high. Hmmm so where do I start? First off you're going to definitely get a trendy vibe when you walk in! Can't deny it's absolutely gorgeous! A place to take pictures if you're one to post on social media. The street corn was salty. The guac was too much on the spicy side. It seem like every entree had fresh chili peppers sprinkled in all the food. So if you don't like spicy make sure to tell them to hold all Chili's. Literally everything had spice to it. I went to Diosa after seeing all the IG reviews popping up on my feed. It is indeed a beautifully decorated restaurant with a nice ambiance (located next to a cvs in a shopping center parking lot). He was busy and at one point we needed water so my friend just reached back and grabbed a pitcher of water and refilled herself 3. Appetizers- ok well this is not el torito or Acapulco where you get lots of chips with you guacamole (see pic below). Literally like maybe 10 chips that we learned quickly to ration by breaking one chip into three pieces to scoop up the guacamole. We ordered a refill of chips for $4 . I mean I get it but $4 I dunno about that or the portion that they give you. But I guess your paying for the ambiance. 4. Drinks- ok so I think this place is good for the drinks. They are good and the presentation of some of them are super cute. I'd probably go back for drinks only and maybe appetizers. 5. Food - food was ok but I have had better. I had the enchiladas poblanas, my friend had shrimp ones (those were good), my other friend had the queso fundido (that was really good). Food was ok tho. All in all it was ok. I see they have a goddess hour where maybe you can just go try out the stuff a bit cheaper if your curious. I think it's kinda like a Javier's but I think Javier's is better.
