5 stars for the decor inside, 5 stars for our server - she was awesome. Drinks were great on presentation but just okay. Food lacked flavor. 3 of us had the enchilada poblanas. Meat was mushy, didn't taste like enchiladas. All three didn't like them. I had the steak arrechera. The quality of the meat was good but it didn't have flavor. I tried to mix in the street corn but it didn't help, tons of onions not enough taste. I wish I would have asked for salsa. We ordered the table side churros.., another disappointment. The churros were hard and we couldn't eat them with the spoons given. So after drinks, appetizers, dessert and watered down coffee our bill was pretty hefty. The icing on the cake was when a host came and said we needed to leave because we had already been there 2 hours. overall, i had a pleasant experience at diosa. firstly, the food is pretty hit or miss. for appetizers, my table had the smoked guac and the taquitos camarones. the guac was good but a little to salty for my palate, and the taquitos were okay. for my main dish, i ordered the octopus zarandeados. the aioli and the vegetables were my favorite part of the dish- very tasty and flavorful! however, i didn't care too much for the octopus because it seemed like it was cooked unevenly, so the texture was perfect for some bites but not all. the only flavors that i got from the octopus were salty and spicy. after tasting some of my friend's food, i couldn't help but feel like i ordered the wrong dish (i recommend the coco risotto salmon!). for dessert, my table shared the churros foster. verrrry delicious. however despite most of the food being pretty good, none of the dishes had ANY business costing over 35$ at most. kinda ridiculous :/ i don't have too much to say about the service- our waitress was very kind and helpful! the people who bring the food to your table aren't necessarily friendly though. the hostesses are nice. lastly- the atmosphere. i was honestly kinda underwhelmed by everything! the decor and interior is very lackluster and the black and white theme is sadly a bore. with a name like "diosa", i was expecting the scenery to be more elegant and decorative rather than just a plain black and white theme with the occasional gold accents. however, i will say that the entrance is beautiful. the decorative sofas and the melted candle scenes were right up my alley. i wish they would've stuck with that ambiance for the entirety of the restaurant. would i come here again? prolly not. but it was a fun experience nonetheless. if you ever wanna try this place, i say go for it! but prepare yourself for an empty wallet at the end of the night. read more

3 stars strictly because the food was good. Once we were sat, the waiter did actually bring out a birthday shot which was cool. The waiter suggest a cocktail that contained Tequila & Mezcal which was good! After the rest of the party arrived to the table we ordered our food. A lady walked from table to table offering a shot, she had a cart with different liquors. What was shady is that after pouring the shot she then explained that it cannot be added to the bill and needed to be paid on the spot separately. Never been to an establishment or would ever think one with this one's interior decor would have that way to generate more business I'm assuming. The wait time wasn't bad by any-means. Once the food arrived the waiter never checked in: asking how everything taste. The manger did come half way to a third of the way finished eating to see how everything taste. Only to find out she wasn't the manager after explaining the separate shot seemed shady. She said she'd get the manger however the manager never came out. After eating we waited at the host area for an additional 10mins for the manger, made eye contact after finding out who it was and they walked away after making eye contact! This one is just a personal trigger but none of the staff say you're welcome, my pleasure, etc after saying thank you. The food and drinks are great but the service needs improvement. So my girlfriend has been trying to get me Downey for some good eats with this restaurant. Unfortunately, the hype is all it is. The restaurant itself is located in a shopping center next to a CVS, they offer "valet" but a few steps literally, in the same next spaces for cvs or other stores located next, you can avoid the ridiculous parking fee. I am a foodie and will pay for the services and what's worth it; this place unfortunately does not make the cut of "sophisticated dining" or worth 300 dollar tab for mediocre food. Food was very average nothing to rave about, I will say the guacamole was my favorite but honestly the 6 little tiny chips they give you for almost a 30 dollar guac and chips was laughable and they do add a surcharge if you ask for more chips. Drinks were so overpriced, drinks are good the "presentation is what they try to sell here" -Just no. Ambience is more like a night club. Super obnoxiously loud and the tequila cart ladies that don't let you eat in peace that come around every so often to somehow, poor you a shot??! I missed the memo when that became a "thing". Service was average the ladies upfront were a little uptight and rude as we checked in for our reservations and waited at least 20 minutes after our reservation time, when I asked about our table they were dismissive and not friendly at all. The only thing was the service, it took a while to be approached so we decided to order drinks, appetizers and entrees at once. To get the check took a looong time and had to be asked for two times. Had my first experience at DIOSA and I have to give this place a 5 star rating from the food to the excellent service. The managers and servers were top notch and very professional. Paulina our 6ft goddess was amazing at what she does. Fellas if you enjoy fantastic food along with good drinks and better views (if you know what I mean) hit this place up. I will definitely be going back to DIOSA.... I also wanted to include Sherryl one of the managers who visited our table several times to make sure we were taken care of. I would have to say DIOSA by far has the best of everything from the ambiance to the food the service which makes this a 5 star. I mean NEVER! come back to do a second review. OMG! the Ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, I requested Ms. Emily for my server ( this girl does everything so well) She was very polite, very friendly, and knowledgeable in all things DIOSA, menu drinks, desserts. We also ordered the Guacamole and it was oh so delicious! served with pickled red onions the Guacamole had a nice lemon flavor with fresh tortilla chips that were crispy!crispy! Everything was fresh to order. The crispy braised pork shank was also very delicious it had a nice crispy texture all around and cooked to perfection inside, kudos to the chef. I had the mashed potatoes and rice as my side and it did not disappoint. Still I cannot get over that steak, it had a nice buttery taste. It was so delicious there was no need for steak sauce. The experience as well as food quality.....DIOSA did not disappoint. Upon entering very friendly staff. Our Server, the chef, the bartenders my oh my! Being a downey resident i took my family for a Saturday dinner food was huge disappointment. Ordered some old fashioned drinks both looked different color one was lighter than the other one that says that bartenders don't follow consistent measurements or ingredients. Nice, but it needs work. The restaurant is beautiful, from the floor to the ceilings, to the outdoor patio. They have a doorman and advertise Valletta parking on the website, but had none when I went!!! And trust when I say you'rere going to want to vallet, during dinner/ weekend. The parking lot is so small it's so hard to find parking. The food is a bit expensive for what it is, but you expect to pay that in a restaurant that is considered upscale. The food was presented beautifully and tasted very good. We ordered the quac, queso fundido, veggie empandas, and bananas foster churro thing. Everything we ate was delicious and had a mini show with dessert. The drinks were amazing. Highly recommend Fridas Garden. The service, however, was lacking. They are very nice but not enough staff for the amount of people that go. If you have a dinner reservation, expect to wait almost an hour to be seated. Then, when you do get seated, you have to wait 15 before even being acknowledged to get a menu. I understand it is popular and busy, but maybe don't take walk-in clients if there is not sufficient staff. Also do NOT order a drink from the girls pushing the carts. It's a total rip off. She offered us a margaritas while we were waiting to be seated and thought how nice of them to offer complimentary drinks while we wait for a table. Then she asked how would we like to pay. We were a little shocked, but whatever it's fine we can pay. So we get the bill and it's 76 dollars for 3 margaritas. Are you kidding me !!! It had not even a shot of off brand tequila and some juice in a martini glass. I'm sorry, but it is ridiculous. I gave this 3 stars because it's beautiful, food and drinks taste great, but if it really wants to be high end it needs to have high end service.
