I sat at the bar with a friend and had a wonderful experience. Ambiance is amazing. Even though they didn't have my favorite tequila yet, Tequila Mandala, the drinks were exceptional. Spicy margaritas for me and my buddy, with an extra shot of mezcal. For food, the must haves are the Sea Bass Tiradito, the Aguachile de Camarron, the smoked guacamole and the queso fundido. The place was really nice and very enjoyable to eat. Had a great time with my significant other and the people in there were really nice and helpful. There was a huge delay on the food as we had to wait more than 40 minutes to get our food but they offered us a free alcoholic drink and a small entree which was really nice. This place is amazing! I was soo happy when it finally opened. The ambiance and decor is fantastic. Must needed in Downey. I came for valentines. As expected it was packed but made reservations 8 days prior. I ordered the Steak Arrechera and must say, it was delicious !! The service was good, but as expected it was very busy. My food came first and it took a while for my BF food to get to our table. The manager (I believe) came personally to apologized to us, we weren't even complaining. We were busy talking, enjoying the live DJ and ambiance. It was very classy of them to acknowledge his plate took longer to arrive and said it was complimentary. We weren't expecting that so that was very nice. He had the Pollo al pastor and said it was delicious. I notice the servers service different tables in different areas and at times I couldn't find him but no big deal. It was a busy day. The single booth tables are very close to each other. Overall I was very happy with my experience here that I returned 2 days later for the bar area. Arrie, the bartender was great! He took good care of us. He did a special drink for my friend which she loved. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Tower and asked them not to make it spicy for me and I was happy they had that option. I must say that was so delicious, definitely ordering again. My friend ordered the Steak Nachos and they were delicious as well! She wanted more meat, and was blown away with the taste of the meat. All the food is fresh with a fantastic presentation and most importantly, matches the taste. I love the combination of flavors. They have master chefs working back there because OMG the food taste really good. I don't understand the mix reviews, about the food not being good and a limited menu. Maybe people are just addicted to junk food and don't know what good quality food is. This is not buffalo wings, acapulcos, ola, bjs, chillis, lazy dog, bar louie people! Where you have a book of a menu with tasteless food. I do wish they had a chicken breast plate, though. I did notice some guys wearing hats/caps in the bar area, I think this should not be allowed. Diosa should uphold up to their dress code since it has that classy upscale look and feel, this is not a sports bar. This is why this place is unique. I love the idea that there are no TV's in the bar/lounge area. It forces people to interact and not be distracted with a TV. I will be coming back! Oooh wow! What a gem of a place! At first glance (totally judging a book by its cover), I didn't think much of it from the parking lot. But upon walking in, my opinion changed immediately. The decor is gorgeous... down to the details of their color scheme, chandeliers, mirrored tiles, glassware, table lamp, etc. Their Goddess Hour menu has fantastic selections. We got the steak nachos and guacamole... super tasty! And our drinks were very pretty AND delicious! Also, their service was incredible! Our server Dave was being trained by Victor, and both were very attentive to us. The manager Priscilla checked on our table a couple times, and her menu recommendations were very much appreciated. Although we did not order from the tequila cart (this time), the server Liliana was lovely and pleasant to talk to. My friend and I really enjoyed this place. We went last night. It hasn't been open barely a week. However, everything seem to run smooth. They have lot of help. The food was amazing! The bone marrow tacos were very good. I'll order that again next time. It was a bit loud. They had a DJ but the music was the same all night, like the same beat. It got to be a little annoying. The inside was beautiful. You can tell they put a lot of money in this place. The drinks were great as well. I will say there was four of us. We all got our food at different timeS. They claim it's the new way. I get it. But we were all done for a long while before the 4th person got her meal. We ended up asking them to pack her up to go. The manager then came up and apologized. He even took her meal off the bill. I thought that was good business practice. I'm glad to see Downey has new nice restaurants. I'll be back to eat again. read more

I came in this past Saturday for my birthday with 5 other guests. Our reservation was for 8:15 there was maybe a person or 2 waiting when we arrived but I did make it a pint to say I wanted a booth and or somewhere with a good view of the restaurant. They say us right in between the large party private room and the bar ... which means my pregnant sister and my two brother in laws were constantly bumped into as pp went to and from, we had no view of anything Where we could see no ambiance, not even 20 min a couple came in and sat at a large booth. I wouldve liked the option to wait and get what ibreally wanted a booth bc the eay our table was set up was as if it was a makeshift setting to accommodate us, when i made our reservation a month in advance Our waitier finally came out and was super nice but was always MIA. Gone for more that 25 mins at a time constantly leaving everyone with empty water glasses and our apps and drinks from the bar that we were so close to taking more than 45 min to receive. My guest were very patient but was starting to doubt me bc at this point we don't have a good seat, looking at only the back of the bars pps body's and the curtains to the closed room, and no food or drinks and have now ran out of water ...which I raved about how beautiful this place was and the presentation of it all. My husband had to request a pitcher of water from a bus boy just to keep us hydrated. My brother in law goes to the RR and there is a mess in the unoccupied stall as if some one was sick and no one from hospitality had cleanes up for a while. our food finally came out and when a few guest asked for sauces and or anything in addition. The wait staff never returned only to see our waiter at my last few bites and by then my food was cold. We spent upwards of $425 and all we could do was wonder if the experience had better would it have been worth it . I came in to check out this new restaurant in Downey. We ordered a cocktail from a very extensive menu. Got the Coco Chanel which was recommended by our server it was delicious the perfect balance of sweetness. I ordered the lobster ceviche which was tasty but a little too spicy. They need to tone down the spice my mouth was on fire. I also ordered the sea bass tiradito which was very flavorful. Would recommend both, but they both have heat. This review is based on my birthday celebration from a week ago. I was happy to be greeted by a friendly hostess in a uniquely decorated entrance. In fact, every member of the staff that came in to contact with myself and my party was extremely pleasant and helpful. The overall vibe of the restaurant was very cool. The seating is nice yet comfortable. The chandeliers are stunning and add the perfect amount of sophistication and playfulness (for those of us who appreciate the bling) to the space. The DJ was a pro. He flowed with the mood and did not dominate the room. Music amped up a little later on, but just the right amount. Overall, the perfect setting for a celebration. We ordered a variety of drinks and none disappointed. From the smoked bourbon to the Phoenix, mariposa and margaritas, the presentation and service was (chef's kiss) superb. Side note, Coco Chanel is a must. We ordered empanadas, ahi tuna tower (not much of a tower, but delicious nonetheless), the corn chowder, and I think it was the trout for appetizers and all were delicious. We ordered a few entrees, including the pollo Al pastor, the mar y Tierra, salmon and risotto, carnitas, a steak dish, and another fish plate I think, and everything tasted as beautifully as it looked. The side dishes were very good, the fish and steak were perfectly cooked and the beans are authentic, which is a big deal to me. We ordered crème brûlée and ice cream for dessert and I was gifted birthday ice cream and a petite rosè, which was quite lovely. Overall, it was a wonderful experience I will not soon forget. My husband & I decided to try the Happy Hour on a Friday. As far as the decor and ambiance goes it's really nice. However, when it came down to the menu was disappointed not to see many options. We tried the tacos which were good, however not worth $12 each for carne asada or shrimp and $10 for carnitas. We also had the steak nachos which we didn't enjoy w/ Mole it just doesn't go together. Drinks on happy hour were very limited choices I had a margarita which was nothing special just a typical lime margarita, and I had the signature diosa house XA it's a tequila special shot they make which for $15 not worth it my husband wanted draft beer which they hVe on the menu but turns out they stopped serving it a while ago (not sue why if it hasnt been open long & they should take it off the menu) . Overall I was not impressed and they only had 1 bartender serving the whole bar so service took long. Needless to say I think I'll pass on a second visit. read more

Came here for a large graduation party, this place is beautiful, and the ambiance is very nice. The appetizers were good, my fav was the roasted Guac and the ahi tower (spicy). I got the poblano enchiladas Great taste - Tip- get it without all the onion salad on top. They have really good meat, we got different kinds and were all delicious. Unfortunately, we were being served at different times so some of the food was cold. I understand it's a new place and the service needs to be worked on. So with that said, I will return with a smaller party and try it again. read more

Diosa was a fun experience, everything was very aesthetic and the drinks were amazing. The food was pretty good and the service was very friendly. However towards the end of our meal we had a cockroach crawling over our booth seat and the table next to us saw it as well. Ruined the whole experience for me. Bartenders should engage more with guest. Especially the ones making drinks definitely could engage more sale more alcohol. I was going to rate a flat three, but the cool bartender made up for it. Drinks were good, I asked for sparkling water and y'all had Voss. I asked for limes, and this is why you are getting the 4 stars instead of three stars. Our waitress was incredibly sweet but she rarely checked on us. Drinks took too long. People at the bar arrived and order drinks after us and received their drinks before us. The drinks were also just alright. The skinny margarita tasted like lemon juice. I would compare them to Javiers ambiance but higher prices, lowers food quality and the restrooms were dirty. We ordered: Tiera y Mar, pállela, chips and salsa and lobster ceviche. Dinner was ok, definitely not worth the price. Chips and salsa were not great. Only recommend the red salsa. This place is about aesthetics but the lacks execution. If you just try, I would recommend eating at the bar and only ordering off the happy hour menu. After speaking with the manager, he invited me back to Diosa & was very apologetic about my experience. I love that he took accountability and didn't make any excuses & said they'd work on it. I went in on Friday & it was super packed but I had reservations. We were seated right away. The service was 100% better. We were greeted, given water and our drinks came in the same time. I would like to mention the drinks are very consistent. Many times I have gone to a restaurant & after 2-3 drinks, they start tasting too sweet. Here I did not experience that. The drinks were 10/10. Also, second time ordering the Del Mar enchiladas. They are by the far the best enchiladas I have ever had. read more

Welcome to Downey DIOSA! Let me start off by saying we definitely needed something this elegant in town. I absolutely loved my experience today. This place has Tequila Goddesses serving up Margaritas any way you'd like... they can make them strong, salty, spicy, fruity and all of it is table side... what a great idea! I had the queso fundido w/ chorizo, rib eye and churros foster. The queso was delicious great flavor and good quality cheese.. you have the option to add chorizo and of course I did (I'm sure it would taste wonderful without it vegetarian)... rib eye was fire!! Good seasoning and it came with some poblano mashed potatoes.. let me just tell you those mashed potatoes will be something I'm coming back for, they were sooo good never had anything like them. The best for last ... drumroll please.... The churros foster was one of the best desserts I have had in a long time. The presentation alone is something you don't see around here.
