Ordered meatball sandwich thru DoorDash and after waiting over an hour when we live 5 min away, DiPiero's sent a side order of meatballs. Called and they said they would make it someone would bring it to my house in 10-15 min. No one came and no one even bothered to call back. Called them and they said they can't deliver it there isn't anyone to bring it. My husband went to pick it up and came home it was 3 meatballs on plain bread! Never ever again! Called Rosatis and within 15 min had a meatball sandwich prepared as I asked with cheese and marinara. Don't go to DiPiero's they are THE WORST!!! read more

My first time at Dipiero's last night and here are a few thoughts... --There is a lot of really good pizza in Chicago, and DP's is just barely average. --We ordered for takeout, so I can't say much about ambiance or service. --I tried the pepperoni (2.5/5) and I thought it was good. Crust, sauce, and cheese were all good. --I also tried the sausage (3.5/5) and I really enjoyed the sausage, with nice fennel flavor. --The best pizza I tried was an interesting combo with olives and bacon (4/5)! Prices keep going up and food quality keeps getting worse ..actually the food at the carryout seems better and more consistent than the restaurant food ..and MUCH cheaper as well .....thin crust pizza is still very solid ..but pasta dishes are now hit or miss ! My wife and I both got Ciambotta. We have had this dish many times at other Italian restaurant but was surprised when we were served as there were sausage, chicken, peppers and onions in olive oil. No red sauce, no tomatoes. Also usually there is a side dish of pasta. Seemed sparce but the price was high given what was served. Then on top of that there was a service charge of 5%. The menu said nothing on how it was being prepared and nothing about a service charge. Very tight and seemed closed in. Given that we chose a table by a window but it was so close to another table we literally hear evert single word of their conversation. Don't plan to go back and can't recommend. read more

First time ordering from Dipiero's, our usual has closed. Ordered a deep dish pizza with spinach and mushrooms, large. Was ready when we got there, brought it home and to our disappointment, it was not very good. Too much salty sauce, very little spinach, very few mushrooms and all dough. I was really shocked at the quality of the food. We ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and ravioli. The alfredo sauce was terrible. It had no flavor beyond the cream the sauce was made out of. The egg hold used in the sauce must have cooked as soon as they dropped it in and we had small bits of cooked egg yolk throughout the pasta. Beyond this, my wife thought it seemed a little expensive when she paid versus the price they had posted online. She asked for an updated menu. When she got home, she noted that the menu price and online price matched. She called to inquire and found out that their prices are higher than posted online or on their menu. The bread that we had with the meal was also extremely dry from being past it's prime. Ordered pizza for pick up on February 3, 2021, walked in and the two cashier's were not wearing masks and one man using the slicer was not wearing a mask while preparing food. I mentioned it to the cashier, and she put her mask on. I called after I left and asked to speak to the manager, no manager was there. I called the other location on Main Street, again, no manager either. I gave my name and phone number, no response from anyone. When I did call to speak to the manager, the cashier said, I will put my mask on now. How could both restaurants not have any one in charge, must be a three ring circus! All I ask is to wear a mask, you are working with food, the general public in a pandemic. Everyone needs to stay safe! Very disappointed no response. read more

We've heard a lot of really good things about Dipiero's Pizza and finally decided to give them a shot. Overall we were really happy with the sauce, cheese, and toppings, but didn't care as much for the crust as it was a little on the thicker side for thin crust. I can't say I wouldn't order a pizza from here again, but I prefer Lou Malnati's and Rosati's myself. When my husband went to pickup it did take just a few minutes longer than we were quoted, but it was a very busy Saturday night. I came here for my grandmas birthday, it's one of her favorite spots. We requested the patio and when we arrived we were seated in a more enclosed "patio" area. It wasn't as ideal as the patio but I understand there is limited seating. When let our server know we were celebrating a birthday, both on the phone and in person, yet our server never acknowledged the birthday. Right when we seated we were asked what we wanted to drink, we asked for more time since we had just arrived. We didn't see the server for a long time after. We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer and I ordered the filet as my dinner. The bruschetta was pretty good, nothing too fancy. It took a while for the food to come out but again I understand there may be less staff in the kitchen. My steak was overcooked and lacked flavor. Next time I am going to stick to pasta or pizza here. Overall Dipiero's is very average, not a spot I would choose to go out to. read more

No milk, no booster chairs, no kids menu, not family friendly. $3.50 for a tiny watered down glass of juice for kids. I have been coming to this restaurant for 30 years. I had the worst experience tonight with the original old man owner. The first dinner ever that I've had that was not good. I ordered the perch dinner. After 30 minutes, the temporary bartender came back and said it wasn't available. After the fact that I ordered a French martini. Bartender said he didn't have any pineapple juice. So I ordered an espresso martini which he had to check to see if he had espresso. Came back and said he found pineapple juice. I had the French martini. 30 minutes into the dinner order, bartender comes back and says the perch is not available. I ordered the salmon. Overcooked. Sweet potato was cold. My friends dinner was cold since he was waiting on mine. Returned the salmon. It was terrible. The old man owner came down and said, why didn't we return the dinner. I said I did. I wasn't paying for the salmon. He called us lowlifes and scum bags so everyone could hear. Told us to never come back. Told us to go to Olive Garden or Denny's. Our bill was $149. Terrible experience. He continued to call us professional lowlifes well we were finishing our bottle of wine until we left. I had to give a one star, so this post would be reviewed. read more

Just moved to the area. Thought we'd try the local pizza place. Just calling to place an order was a hassle. I was put on hold 4 times and had to repeat my order for 1 large pizza several times. Waited the hour mins you I'm 5 mins away. The pizza never showed so my husband drove over to pick it up. When he arrived it was obvious that they had never made our pizza because he ended up waiting 25 minutes. When he got home we opened the box and the pizza was completely burnt. Love DiPiero's! You will not be disappointed if you're looking for an authentic, local Italian dinner. This restaurant is truly one of my favorites. Not only do I feel like family when I walk in, since I've been eating here for over 15 years, it never disappoints! They make an incredible dirty martini and they will always recommend the best wine to go with my meal! As for appetizers, their burrata with pesto and fire roasted tomatoes is delicious! I could eat it every day! I also enjoy their calamari and the mussels marinara. Yum! I love all their chicken and fish dishes (since I don't eat red meat or pork I can't comment on those). Saw the owner yelling at his employees in front of my wife and I and all the others customers. Was very rude and definitely not professional and very uncomfortable. As for food, it's sub par, the entrees are hit and miss and the pizza is usually under cooked. The restaurant is better than take out.
