Highly recommend if you are in the area! The place has a nice charm where they are serving fresh homely style food. I am usually a burrito guy but today. I was intrigued to try their corn bread stuffed with chicken and cheese called as papusus and and the Mexican sandwich tortas. Two year olds had their cheese quesadilla plate. My wife and I went out for a Sunday drive and we need a place for lunch. We stopped for lunch an Mari's and we were thrilled with our choice. The restaurant is on the Northeast corner of Rand and Half Day road. Our server was friendly and welcoming and the food we had here was outstanding. We sat down and they bring out warm Chips and the Salsa was mild. We ordered some Guacamole which was tasty and fresh. For our main course, my wife had the Casa Birria and I opted for the Chicken Pasole. The Casa Birria were loaded with tender beef and cheese inside a crispy casadilla and it came with a cup of dipping sauce...highly recommended! The Chicken Pasole was loaded with Chicken and a harty broth and 2 bean tostada's. All the food was exceptional and the prices were very reasonable, so we will be returning with the rest of our family to try out their offerings! read more

Went for a quick lunch and ordered beans n cheese, vegetables papusas. It was delicious. The restaurant is neat and clean, service is good and the restaurant served food in very nice and clean crockery. Ordered regular coffee and they brought in a white ceramic mug with a saucer. Mostly restaurants these days don't make such efforts but I think they did a good job. I recommend it and will go back soon. read more

Please go and support this local, family-owned restaurant. My husband and I eat there at least once a week. We absolutely love their chicken tacos, salsa and guacamole. The food and service at Mari's restaurant was excellent. Such an extensive menu! My family all ordered different things (zopes, flautas, a beef stew, pupusas and more). And we even had some delicious desserts including fried ice cream. The portions were very generous and the prices were amazing. If you like Steak Burritos don't go here ! I had one yesterday and it was sooooo GREASY ! I mean it was soaking up the Flour Tortilla it was Gross !! I throw it away after 3 bites ( I couldn't it eat ) . I had to drink a gallon of water just to feel a little better. My hands had grease on them as well . Googled this restaurant bc I pass by all the time. I was surprised it got such good reviews. I have been there twice now! The chips are hot & fresh, the guac is excellent, birria tacos were great, & the chicken mole enchiladas were the best I've had. The server is super friendly as well. We will be back. read more

I have been excited to try and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered a Asada burrito and the price was appropriate but it was literally flavorless!! The meat was very grizzly, chewy and had NO flavor. I frequent Elnorte but Elnorte is closed on Sundays so I thought I would give Maris a try. Such a disappointment. The hot and mild sauces were also very flavorless unfortunately. It is no wonder why all these Mexican restaurants come and go in Lake Zurich. NO Quality!! No one wants to chew on chuncks of fat!!
