I love dipti's eyebrow skills! I've been going here for a few months now and she's changed my eyebrows. When I first came in I had a lot of sparse areas and missing hairs and now my eyebrows are thick and nicely shaped. But after trying several threading and waxing saloons that cost three times as much. I would go out of my way any day to go to Dipti's threading salon. Despite the cash only place, it's affordable and worth the try. I went on either a Thursday or Friday during my lunch hour and thankfully there weren't any clients when I walked in, so I didn't have to wait. There is pay for parking on the opposite side of Dipti's but since there isn't a lot of patrolling in that area, I didn't pay to park. Threading eyebrows only takes 5 minutes. Experienced my first eyebrow threading here. My goodness, it was as everyone said: fast and precise! I was the first person in line when the doors opened. I was in and out in 3 minutes, and there was already an endless stream of customers flooding through the doors. I usually get my brows done every 2 weeks, and usually it's by Dipti. She does a great job--fast, cheap, relatively painless. This isn't a glamourous place but I feel more comfortable here anyways. Last time I went, I got out of my car when "Come Together" came on the radio, and I was back in my car while it was STILL ON. That's less than 4 minutes from car door to car door ya'll. They have parking meters but I never bother to pay. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because when they get busy (and they do--especially Friday afternoons, when I usually go) the quality goes down noticeably. Affordable but a lot more expensive than the threading places on Devon ave. My mom loves this place and is a loyal customer. Based on her recommendation I went and wasn't as pleased with my experience. Firstly the line is way too long after work or on a saturday. Secondly, Dipti thinned my brows way too much and didn't leave in any part of their natural shape. In fact they looked exactly like my mom's brows. Its a good look for her but not for me. So I think dipti only knows one shape and if it works for you great, if not go someplace else. My cousin also tried this place and was charged extra because Dipti removed hair that my cousin specifically asked her not to, but Dipti deemed it necessary. How does this place have so many good reviews?! I left there CRYING! Not understanding how anyone could ever come back to this place or why she was even still open. I came in for a brazilian wax. Never had come in here before, and as I walked in she pointed to a door as she sat watching tv, I suppose telling me to go right in ahead so as to not bother her program. Whatever. I proceeded to walk and she follows me and then tells me, "Take off your clothes, get on your back." The room is dirty, grimy, and not welcoming at all. Why did I continue to stay? I don't know, I wish I could tell myself that. So there bare with a huge life-size paper on me. She opens the door and is about to begin when she forgets something so at that moment, she gets up to go, LEAVES THE DOOR OPEN, with my naked self exposed as some strange guy walks by. WTF. Yeah. I bring it up when she comes back but she takes the laugh it off, not a big deal approach. Not cool. Then the wax. She's rough, makes you hold your legs in the weirdest freaking way, and laughs if it hurts. Tears started to come down my face and to this day, I am not sure if it is because of the actual physical pain or the humiliation this place makes you feel. Nonetheless, I am praying for this to end as soon as possible. Never have I cried for a wax, or felt this way in a salon (if you can even call it that). dipti's is a SCENE. picture this: one room. two barbershop-style chairs in the middle. people seated lining the walls holding their handmade "take a number" laminated sheets of construction paper. bollywood music videos playing on the TV in the corner. dipti threading eyebrows while on the phone (at all times). if you're looking for scented candles, fancy waiting rooms, or spa music, this is not the place for you. but if you want a fabulous result for almost no money, go to dipti. best part: it's cheap! $7 for eyebrows. and mine have never looked better. you don't need an appointment, you're in and out quickly, and the result is awesome. fun fact: i picked up my best friend maura from the airport (she lives in kazakhstan - seriously) and she said she needed her eyebrows done, so we went straight from o'hare to dipti's. even with jet lag, lacking sleep, starving, needing a cocktail, maura left dipti's with a big smile on her face -- and beautiful eyebrows. read more

I am not one to usually write a review unless I am extremely wowed or disappointed. Unfortunately, this time it's for the latter. I've gotten brazillian waxes for the past 15 months in Miami, so this wasn't my first time. Past waxers I've been to peel off the wax in strips when it's cooled. However, this woman poured a bunch of wax on at once and used a paper towel sized cloth to rip off a ton of hairs at once. It was excruciatingly painful because of how many hairs were torn off at once, and she left some hairs behind. The lady insisted on waxing my backside as well, and I had to tell her repeated times that I did not want it. Finally, she told me to put neosporin on the area after if there was burning. The thought of putting that on down there sounds less than appealing. I've never experienced so much pain during and after a wax until now, and I will certainly not be coming back. read more

Whoever threaded my eyebrows was in such a rush that she was pulling the hairs out so quickly that I had to actually stop her because it hurt so badly and ask her to go slower so it wouldn't sting as much. I get my eyebrows threaded all the time at other places and it has never hurt me this bad nor felt like that . She was also sick and kept coughing and clearing her throat as she was threading my eyebrows with the thread in her mouth. Gross! I love Dipti! I've been going to her for a few months now and she is so fast and good at what she does. I wouldn't trust any other person with my eyebrows..or to do my brazilian The Brazilian wax hurts minimally (don't they all?), but 2 minutes later, I feel great - no pain whatsoever! Cheap and fast (unless there is a tremendously long line, usually on the weekdays after everyone gets out of work). She does a great job on the brows and it's only 7 bucks. The first time will definitely hurt a little because she's going to be pulling out all those hairs, but if you come back every two weeks like she recommends, you barely feel a thing. My usual place was closed for the season so I tried this place for eyebrow threading. She was incredibly fast, which I thought was nice but she did a very sloppy job. Lots of strays and no trim. Came to get my eyebrows threaded, but got them mostly waxed and touched up with threading. I was looking for a good eyebrow place that didn't involve driving through traffic and finding parking. I'll admit I'm more of a regular at Lakeview Threading. Yelp pointed me to Dipti's as a closer and highly rated threading salon. I came in on a week day since reviews said it gets packed on weekends. There was no wait so I was glad to hop right into the chair. She started off by putting powder on my eyebrows, which I thought was odd but I didn't say anything. Before I knew it, she put wax on between my eyebrows so I rolled with it. She also waxed off some of the bottom as well and touched up with threading lightning fast. Coming in, sitting in the chair, her doing my eyebrows, and paying her took less than 5 mins total. I was in shock how quick it was. Lakeview takes about 8-15 mins generally. I thought the look was pretty good but it wasn't as clean and thorough as Lakeview's (they always take their time and make sure it is exactly what I want even when there is a decent wait). The next day is what turned my 4 star review to a 2 star. I had tiny blisters on the waxed areas. I was really surprised because I have gotten my eyebrows fully waxed several times before and that has NEVER happened. I have very normal skin that is not sensitive by any means. It really needs to be abused to be red and ESPECIALLY blistered. Long story short... Will not be coming back. This is NOT a threading salon. read more

She is very fast and efficient and knows what she is doing. The prices are moderate and for the quality wax she uses (Natural Honey wax) it's a good bargain for quality work. The edge that Dipti has over others is definitely SPEED. When you're getting hairs ripped out by the roots, every second counts. Other threaders may give you a similar end result, but it will take 4-5x longer. Although there are other ladies working there, insist on Dipti. read more
