I love our local Seafood Atlantic for almost all our seafood purchases, but it's' closed on Mondays. So when I had a hankering for some mahi on the grill, I remembered 'that place across from Home Depot.' Great selection, all the fish looked fresh. I even added in a pound of Key West Pinks...our favorite shrimp. The prices were about the same as Seafood Atlantic, some higher, some lower. The service was great, lots of people to help, cleanly dressed and fast. So, if we're in the area and need fish, we'll get it here. Free ice for your fish too...Seafood Atlantic charges for theirs. Nothing like spending $30 on fish and then being charged 25 cents for a bag of ice! We love you S.A., but come-on! Have not eaten here yet, just bought fish to take home and grill. read more

The quality is the best we have seen, the prices are great, and they will clean your fish at no extra charge (oh and as an added bonus, they always throw in a fresh lemon with your order). I highly suggest subscribing to their email listing so that you can get all the latest updates on what their specials and fresh catches. The owner and staff are very nice and willing to go above and beyond to make sure you're happy. Their prices for seafood is super affordable and everything is so fresh. The owner is very nice to converse with. I usually buy salmon belly from other market but this place beats the price out of all the markets, and there's plenty of salmon meat not just the fat. I've been buying fresh fish, crates of oysters, and meats here since Pete owned the place. They are our local wholesaler and Direst Seafood has been an institution for generations. It's always hairy when a local institution changes hands. We lost our best bakery that way a long time ago. Plenty of us were pretty nervous when Pete sold. The change over was rocky at times, but this is certainly one of the success stories. Direct Seafood is consistently the best, most diversified seafood source in the area and they also have very good meats. I was in there a few weeks ago being a pain about which oysters to buy for a party. 2 30# boxes of Florida Premiums at $19/each or the 50# box Louisiana Primes for $35. Florida premiums it was. Perfect food size. Tiny oysters are for people who don't like oysters. We worked out when the truck would come in, and we got a couple of boxes of oysters that had been picked the day before our beach party. We shucked and ate every one and they may have been the best, freshest oysters I ever had. They're kind of tucked away a block west of US #1 south of Eau Gallie Blvd. They are the rare Florida seafood market that you can't find by smell. read more

Living on Long Island all my life, I'm use to going into a seafood market and seeing what I'm buying, this store came on a referral, so I gave it a try. I ordered 3 lbs of black mussels $4.00 lb Ouch, I could only use 2 lbs as the others were dead, 1 lb of shrimp $9.00 lb, which weren't fresh, came frozen in shrink wrap package, 1 lb tuna, $16.95 Ouch! It was ok no different than what I can get at Downtown Produce for $7.00. Also they don't give an itemized bill, and not seeing the fish before you purchase them is something I just don't like. I had a 4pm pickup for one dozen male blue crabs and they sold them out from under me 5 minutes before my scheduled pickup time. They called me 15 minutes before pickup to confirm I was coming and since I didn't pick up my phone at that moment they sold them off. I'd understand selling them if I was late, but before the pickup time???? Terrible customer service and practices, they lost a customer for life because of their short shortsightedness. read more

I will never shop there again. We bought snow crab and oysters there yesterday, and somehow for 2 people spent over $40 for 3 crab clusters and 2 dozen oysters. When we got home and noticed how small the oysters and crab clusters were, we called to complain. The man was very rude and said that it is just "How they come" and there was no price adjustment. To top it all off, when we shucked all 2 dozen oysters we realized every ONE of them was off. I mean really, rotten, bad, off. I tried about 6 to give them the benefit of the doubt, but couldn't try anymore. I was done spitting out my over-priced oysters. Was not what I expected when I walked in the door. But my husband loved the lobster I got him for his birthday dinner. He was very surprised by how much it was too, well rather should I say how little it cost. The drawback is they couldn't steam it for me. But they did tell me how to cook it. I went there in April 2014 to get some frog legs. I bought 20lbs to bring back to Michigan. These were the largest and best tasting legs I have ever had. The entire family went nuts over them. I'll be there again this April 2015 and am going to pick up 50lbs or more. The staff was great to deal with. Those of you who think the place smells, well guess what.
