The decor is bold, moody, and unapologetically sexy, with a uniquely playful edge that makes the space feel fun, indulgent. I actually preferred it over their LES location in New York. Service was warm and friendly overall but not always as attentive. Small lapses stood out (most notably, red wine being poured into my champagne glass) but those things happen and were apologized. Food-wise, everything we ordered was good but some dishes felt overpriced for what they were. The beef carpaccio,l was overwhelmed by oil which dulled the delicacy of the meat. The wedge salad was similarly heavy-handed: fully tossed and drenched in dressing losing the crisp that makes a wedge shine. That said, the filet mignon was excellent: well-cooked, properly seasoned, and easily the standout of the meal. It was the dish that felt most worth its price. Went back here after about two years and I have mixed feelings. First of all, the restaurant was basically empty on a Tuesday night in high season and they have closed the 2nd dining room. When we left at 9:30 the bar was completely empty. Food was still good but not sure why the wedge salad is presented tableside. It's basically lettuce and blue cheese, although we did have the bacon on the side. And after all that, could you please serve it to us instead of just putting the bowl in the middle of the table? Duck and brussel sprouts were excellent! But what happened the prime rib, which they used to hype so much? Wine list is wide ranging and fairly priced. However, our waiter Angel was not very attentive and dissappeared for long stretches. We had to pour our own wine for the most part and water glasses remained unfilled for most of the night. The most interesting part was when some other waiter plopped the check down soon after removing our plates. Do they not serve dessert here any more? First time at this restaurant and also will be my last, unless they improve in every area. I was excited to try this restaurant for the first time and i left extremely disappointed. When we first arrived, we were greeted by hostess and were asked to wait in the lounge area: a room with jungle aesthetic, plenty of seating and a full bar. The room was PACKED and there was only ONE bartender available. We ordered and waited for drinks for maybe 30 mins until we were told our table was ready. They told us our drinks will be taken to our tables. We got sat on the left side, which I will call the freezer section because 1. The decor looked like the outside of those metal freezers and 2. The room was FREEZING. They did provide pretty blankets though. Our server was carrying a tray of different meats to show another table and as she passed by me, she dropped the entire tray right next to me, that one of the steaks grazed my shoulder. Then she took our order and our drinks still weren't delivered. Come to find out that the only bartender in the ENTIRE restaurant was that one bartender in the waiting room. Being it was Friday, I am surprised that they were this short staffed. Our appetizers arrived promptly, as well as the first round of drinks. I ordered lobster pasta and truffle mushroom tortellini. The tortellini wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. However, the lobster pasta was very unpleasant. It tasted like dish soap, as if it the lobster was washed or soaked in it. Others at the table agreed. I sent it back. Our main dishes also never arrived. We waited more than an hour for the food, and our second round of drinks also weren't brought. Our entire experience was horrible, from start to finish. I can say the place has potential, but a lot needs to be changed starting with management. read more

Love this place! Bold, eccentric, and unapologetically over the top with zebra print, red lighting, and a jungle-meets-supper-club kind of vibe. Wanted to try a new place for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the food at Dirty French. I'll start with the cons since the pros outweigh them. For food reviewing purposes it sucks a little that you can't use a flash to take photos. Also, it was super hard to hear our server explaining specials, sharing the steak board etc over the other patrons and music but we managed. Our server was however had very personable energy. And the decor and ambiance is very nice, with a bar/lounge area where you can start before seated. We started with the wedge salad which is prepared table side, crab cakes, and calamari, as well as the house bread they bring out. That bread was life changing! Lol. Everything was really good, and I was really skeptical about the crab cakes as a Marylander. The salad wouldn't be something I'd order again because it was full of thick pieces of bacon which I don't eat and wasn't listed on the menu. For my entree I went with the snapper and for sides mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and mushrooms. Everything again was delicious. The potatoes had me a bit nervous because they were more puréed than mashed, but very flavorful. For my drink, I ordered the Gold dollar, and it was delicious. It came out on fire literally! I love a good presentation. So much so, I ordered a second. I'd pop back in for cocktails and lite bites for sure. $472.32 including a service charge was the total for the two of us. read more

Ok let me start with the fact that they have rugs which is a pet peeve of mine in a restaurant. We got there early and all I could smell was musty rugs. Once the place filled the food smells take over but I could still smell rug. The place itself was like being back in time with tacky decor but I guess the 70s theme makes it different. Not sure. This is 1 of my favorite restaurants in Miami ! I love their fillet mignon because it is so flavorful. You don't even need a sauce with it. The vibe is always fun here, especially sitting in the zebra room. The music is always fun and it's also a great place to people watch! The manager ,hostesses, and waiters are all very friendly and accommodating. They have recently added a showcase cart for additional steaks that are not on the menu, including specialty wagyu cuts. So there are plenty of choices if Steak is what you're looking for. I don't recommend the mushrooms as a side, as they came out very very dry. I got them because they were described as garlic mushrooms, but they were so dry and I didn't really see any garlic or olive oil on them, so those would be a no. We've enjoyed their pommes puree many times before, though and those are delicious and creamy. For my starter I had the black truffle tortellini, which is also new on the menu and I loved it. It comes with five pieces of tortellini and they were just soft, warm and delicious. I didn't taste much trouble in them, but I would get them again because they were delicious ! My husband started with the giant grilled oysters, and he also ordered the Caesar anchovy salad, which he enjoyed. They also have a great wine list ,as well as a champagne cart, which is right up my alley! We were celebrating me feeling better so I started with a glass of Dom and he had his Chopin martini and then we moved into a beautiful bottle of red wine with our steaks. ( Chateau Kirwan 2016 ) We ended with the triple chocolate layer cake & a smile. It's always a fun dinner at Dirty French steakhouse! If you haven't been in a while, give it another try ! Dirty French is across the street from us and we've always been curious. We finally had the chance to go for Valentine's Day and had an awesome time. Like others say, the vibe and decor inside really stands out. It's very fun with lots of velvet and art deco-y vibes. It reminded me slightly of Delilah decor-wise, which is also around the area, but a bit more edgy and laid back. Francisco was very helpful with introducing us to the menu and making sure we had what we needed. I especially really appreciated that Francisco gave me a heads up that the scallops appetizer was served sashimi style (probably should have realized this since it was under the "raw bar" section of the menu). He pointed out that there was also another scallop dish in the entree section served seared that we could order for an appetizer and so glad we did, because it may have been my favorite thing we ate. All the food was delicious and the prime rib to share was also a standout. Very flavorful and loved it was cooked medium rare. Luis also did a great job making sure our water glasses were full and table clean and gave us a great recommendation on dessert (don't remember the name but it had delicious puff pastry, caramel and pineapple). I regret to say I don't recall the sommelier's name, but he also did a fantastic job helping us pick a good wine within our budget and was not pushy. Like others say, it is quite a pricey restaurant so just be mindful of this. Some dishes may be more worth the price than others (for instance, I was skeptical of their gnocchi special that cost $100...seems like a lot for pasta??). It's also a very lively place, so if you're looking for a quiet date night place, probably not the vibe. But I'd recommend Dirty French for a fun night out for a special occasion. read more

To start, we were provided complimentary bread and butter which was very delicious. As starters, the four of us split beef carpaccio and mushroom millefeuille with butternut squash. Absolutely delicious! For the main dish, we split the 32oz Japanese Wagyu Tomahawk. ONE THOUSAND PERCENT WORTH THE SPLURGE. Absolutely decadent on its own. The peppercorn, béarnaise, and chimichurri sauces complimented it wonderfully. We paired the steak with pomme puree, broccoli, and dirty rice. The dirty rice came with duck mixed into it which was so yummy and a nice surprise! In total after tax and tip, the bill for all 4 of us was about ~$750. My daughter treated me to an evening at Dirty French on Mother's Day. It was our first time there. As you enter, you notice low shiny gold ceilings, hear loud 80s music on a cheaper sound system, see cool looking zebra skin covered chairs and booths, beautiful chandeliers and lamps, low lights, white linen table cloths, ferns and other green foliage wallpaper for a jungle/tropical effect. The clientel are mostly dressed fancy and speaking loudly in competion with the loud music. The dining areas were packed, but oddly, the beautiful bar area was empty! Was that because of the outlandishly high prices for drinks and wine? Our expectations of this restaurant were sadly disappointed as the night wore on. The service was rather slow, and we wound up being in the dining room for 3 long hours! Our server was Elsa F. There were a few problems with the food that were unexpected. We ordered the Prime Rib for 2 ($180), expecting the best we had ever eaten. We ordered medium but were served rare with lots of fat and grissle. We sent it back, but the manager came out and told us that it had been cooked for 36 hours at a very low heat and that the spices they use turns the meat red but it was actually a medium. You could've fooled us on that one! He had no idea of the fabulous restaurants we have eaten at all over the world. He saw our faces and agreed they could sear the steaks. When brought back, the steaks were much better but much smaller after we had to cut off the inedible parts of it. I felt like I was taken advantage of when it came to ordering a glass of wine. Our server had me taste 2 wines. The first had a bitter after taste, and the last was smoother. So I picked the latter one. She never showed me a wine list nor mentioned the price per glass. Unbeknownst to me, she sold me a $38 glass of wine. It wasn't even that good. So be sure and ask what you're getting before saying yes. I know they do this on South Beach but did not expect it from Dirty French in Brickell. The buttery mashed potatoes were good but too "soupy" in texture. The tiny little bowl they were in for 2 people had us shaking our heads. The beef carpaccio was ok. The mushrooms were very good. The complimentary naan bread with hummus was good. Lucky for us, the Creme Brulee with Caramel glaze was delicious! Same with the Beignets, but they still are second to Cafe du Monde's. We did speak to Michael, the manager, who was very understanding and took good care of us during the evening. We valet parked because there was no street parking. Upon arriving we had drinks at the lounge and the vibe was great! The waiters were super friendly and happy to explain all the variety of drinks. They have a healthy pour of everything, which we appreciated. The lighting was perfect and the fabric upholstery was kind of an "old school meets new school" and very well put together.
