We had a truly outstanding meal at Slims. Gustavo, our server was an excellent guide through their diverse menu and is truly one of the best we've ever had. They have a nice wine list with reasonable choices and serve very cold water which I love! Off to a great start. Gustavo highly recommended the biscuits and he was so right! They are even better than Popeyes (iykyk). And the butter served with them was also perfect. We then shared the chopped salad (fresh and tasty), followed by our entries. I had the bone in ribeye, which was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time and my wife had the crab stuffed avocado, which was delicious. By the time we tried the champagne cake (moist and flavorful, but not sure I would get again), we were absolutely stuffed! In my opinion, this is the best steakhouse in SF (Sunny's may have a more diverse menu, but this is the better steak). We will definitely return! read more

Instead of handing me a menu and asking what I wanted, he asked what types of drinks I usually enjoy and created his own cocktail based on my preferences. It was honestly one of the best drinks I've had. The food was just as impressive--everything was fresh, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. Old Hollywood called and said "we'll have what she's having." Walking into Slim's feels like stepping onto a 1930s film set .. the art on the walls, the whole art deco glow, it's giving golden age glamour. And of course, Frank Sinatra was playing the entire night. We started with the buttermilk biscuits served with honey butter. They came out warm because someone in that kitchen understands love language. We also got the crab cake and both disappeared embarrassingly fast. Then the oysters with caviar came out served on hot rocks and they were nearly gone in seconds as well . For the main entree we got the the 10oz filet mignon , Cooked perfectly, obviously with the stuffed hash brown the size of a personal pan pizza ... that " side" is doing a lot of lying on that menu, because this thing was a meal on its own. And the steak knife selection?? A literal box set of 6 to choose from. Such a small detail but huge power move. for Dessert we were in between the banana foster which is flambéed table side or the the NY cherry cheesecake... but we got the beat of both because the table next to us ordered the foster so we got the show and went with the cheesecake ! The bread was incredible -- warm, fresh, and definitely the kind you keep reaching for. The pigs in a blanket were delicious, and the filet mignon paired with the steak sauce was absolutely outstanding. The tableside banana foster was not only entertaining to watch, but tasted amazing too. And the pineapple cake? I could have eaten the whole thing myself. Service was top notch. The server did a great job explaining and making suggestions. When he prepared the dessert at the table, he told us the story of how bananas fosters was originally created. My favorite food was the buttermilk biscuit. I am still thinking about these biscuits. I enjoyed the beef stroganoff too. The ambiance was upscale chic but not pretentious. Had a really enjoyable dinner at Slim's Steakhouse in Bal Harbour. The food was excellent--my food was cooked exactly as ordered, full of flavor, and the sides were just as impressive. The atmosphere is stylish without feeling overly formal, making it a great place for either a date night or dinner with friends. You can definitely tell there's attention to detail, and it makes sense knowing it's from the same team behind Makoto. The service was friendly and professional throughout the evening. Made a reservation to take my mom out to brunch. Received a call the night before to confirm. All went super smooth, from the beginning to us walking in to the end of service. Staff was polite and attentive. Our server was lovely. We loved the Gaspacho, Chinese chicken salad and the club sandwich and fries were amazing. Best steak I've had in Miami, ever! Shared a Porterhouse and a Delmonico. Both were cooked perfectly. Sides were great, especially the French fries. And the Bananas Foster for dessert is something you shouldn't miss. read more

We had high expectations for Slim's and they delivered it completely and with ease. The team is very well trained and prepared to provide a wonderful experience. And they do it naturally and with ease. The real star is that menu, interesting apps (the crab and avocado is not be missed and even the pigs in a blanket was an elevated childhood experience). The Dover Sole is quite exquisite as it rivals my all-time favorite at Scott's in London, and this is saying a lot! The filet mignon and the NY Strip were superb, we loved the light run they had which paired beautifully with the au poivre and Slim's sauces. Dessert was yet another great chapter - please do not skip the chocolate mouse! If you think 'been there done that', you have not! Splurge and consume those well worth calories.
