Short but sweet: we were out on a drive through the mountains, doing some light off-roading... but not so light to keep us from getting a flat. Oops. We patched up the tire and then very carefully made our way to Discount Tire. Unfortunately they weren't able to properly fix the tire, and suddenly I was imagining having to spend some unexpected money buying a new set (the bf is very particular about matching tread etc). But nope! The kind folks at Discount Tire just threw on a full-sized "loaner tire" and said there was no rush at all, and that if we ended up getting new tires someplace else to just bring it back at some point. I made an appt online and so glad I did because they were slammed. Its the week before Christmas and the phones were ringing off the hook, people coming in consistently. I was still greeted well, he looked up my appt and took my keys. They had a spacious waiting room and before I knew it (less than an hour) a guy came to get me and said it's all done. Got a flat tire on my way home from picking up my family from work and had to pull over at a gas station a couple of minutes away from this discount tire. We tried putting the spare tire on with absolutely no luck in the rain and it was already getting dark. My friend called this store as a last minute resort because they were already so close to closing for the night, and Ken, a really amazing employee answered and immediately offered to help. He went out of his way to go to my car and put the spare on even though it wasn't even at the shop. Fantastic customer service, fast, and the best prices out there. I brought my Sprinter 144 in because my back right tire was loosing air pressure on tires I bought somewhere else. They quickly got me in and said that the repair would be free as well as a free tire rotation regardless if I have purchased from them before. The customer service agent called shortly thereafter to let me know the nails in the tire could not be repaired and I would need a tire replacement which was done in 10-15 min at a price that was the same as what I paid for my tire where I had to go to many different shops and online retailers to find such a low price. They often have great deals online and in store (find it online they will order it for you) and often have money back in a gift card or visa gift card or something. This location is great, been coming for about a year and they do great with all our cars. Free tire rotations, tire swaps, and they even have rims. I they notice something is wrong with your tire or rims, if they can they will try to fix it free of charge. They have done that with one of my bent rims in the past. Everyone that works here that I have interacted with is not only friendly but knowledgeable. They also always try to work with you to get the best for your car. Highly useful staff and excellent services provided. Came here for a free tire fill up. Just moved to Oregon from southern California, so the colder temperatures require some extra PSI fill up on the tires to offset temperatures in the air. I drive a 2014 Nissan LEAF at the time of this review, and for whatever reason the car was rated at only 32 PSI for the tires. That is garbage, if you drive at that low of a PSI you'll feel like a slug, not to mention in colder climates like Beaverton Oregon where air temps can get as low as 0 F. I've got an OBD connector for my car. If you don't have one, get one. It shows you detailed metrics and statistics into your car, so that you are saving money when you're going to get your car "diagnosed". You know how when you go to a car mechanic and they charge you like $100 to $200 for a diagnostic? They're plugging in an OBD which costs like 10 bucks, and reading a code from that, and that's the diagnosis (I'm over-simplifying, there are other ways to diagnose a vehicle, but this is the most common method). Anyway, my OBD this morning told me my tire pressures were off. 36 front left, 37.25 front right, 36.25 back left, 37 back right. Need to equalize all of this! So I drove the car to this Discount Tire, had them fill up to 38 PSI and was on my way. Guy was super friendly and recommended +3 on the base PSI, of which I go way higher (32+3 is only 35, and I asked for 38!) But it paid off. As I'm driving around in my LEAF, my miles per charge has improved from 3.6 miles per KwH to 4.1 miles per KwH. My car gets a maximum of 24 KwH, so that's about 98.4 miles per charge, an increase from 86.4 miles per charge. Not bad if you ask me. Thanks to Discount Tire for making this possible. Also, no WiFi from what I could see, but I also didn't go into the shop, I stayed in my car since their free tire fillup service doesn't require you to get out at all. read more

We bought new tires for 2 of our cars and are back in 3 months later for a FREE tire rotation and realignment. They have great service in that you can make an appointment online and see all avail times for the day you want. The service here is very bad. after this visit we won't be coming back here again. I made an appointment a week in advance to get my tires rotated. I got there right on time for my appointment at 9:45 and they told me it should take an hour at most. There was about 5-6 people in front of me so I thought they were pretty busy. I waited in the lobby the whole entire time. An hour went by, everyone before me already had one of their workers handed them the keys back. I decided to keep waiting patiently. 2 hours have passed I went up to them and asked when my car was going to be ready and that I've been here for 2 hours now. They told me "it's been ready since 10:30" I was very furious to hear that they knew I was there waiting and didn't even notify me. I've bought tires from this store, and they seem to treat their customers well, but the general manager does not treat his employees well at all. Just the opposite. To be fair, I've never been an employee there, but I've talked with several people that do(or did) work there and the stories are consistent: the general manager (I think that his name is Art,or something like that) demeans his employees and is harshly and unnecessarily critical, usually in front of other employees. I've heard first hand reports of more than one person quitting directly because of the harsh criticism from the general manager. These folks work in a physical, thankless job where they are already getting occasionally micromanaged by nitpicky customers... (And many (or most?) are only getting paid minimum wage.) They don't need random, capricious judgements from their boss too. I like Discount Tire as a company, so I'm thankful that there other ones on the west side of Portland since I won't be doing business with this one anymore after hearing all this about the work environment. read more

Needed a sudden tire fix and was lucky enough to find Discount Tire. I called ahead of time and didn't catch his name but the guy on the phone was helpful and friendly. I stopped by and they were a little busy but Cameron was super helpful and assured me they would take care of me and I'd be in/out in less than an hour. Side note- they're walking distance to a few places where you can grab a quick bite to eat or drink so you're not stuck in an uncomfortable waiting area the entire time. Excellent service from Bruce and David! Thank you both! I came in with my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. I had a low pressure warning on a rear tire. I arrived a few minutes after the opened at 8am. Bryce helped me almost immediately, did a quick check on the tires and completed all the paperwork in about 5 minutes. The estimate was $0! The ETA for repair was less than an hour. The car was finished right on time. No charge, including the flat repair (screw in tire) and rebuilding the TPMS (Tire Pressure Sensor)! David returned my car and answered all my questions. Sixteen months ago I bought high-end Yokohama tires that have totally worn out. I brought them back in and they did provide a warranty discount, but I can't say I've been happy with the tires or the service. BTW, you have to pay extra for the tires to be under warranty, and the warranty discount isn't as good as I was led to believe. I made three trips in and they were always out of stock of my tire size. They called me once to say they had my tire in stock, but when I got there 2 days later they couldn't help me. Tomorrow is a Winter storm warning, so I just dropped in, and yes my size tires were in stock. Of course they were out of my size chains. They said the wait would be three hours, after four hours twenty minutes the car finally went into the bay. I can't prove it but I believe people who came later got in before me as their tires were at full cost, and not reduced due to warranty coverage. They took the old tires off and it was over an hour before the new tires were put on. Be careful, they try to upsell a lot of services and several warranties, which increase their quote quite a bit. This is the first (and second) experience I've had with them, and if it wasn't for the bad wear being partially covered by the warrant, I wouldn't be back. Les Schwab is a better choice. read more

I guess it was time but I just wasn't ready emotionally. loll I went to Firestone just to get my punctured tire fixed and had them put on a spare tire for me cause their tire prices seemed a little off. I did some research after coming home and discovered Discount Tire. Yelpers seemed to love them as well so I gave them a call. My car tires are an awkward size so NOBODY had them in stock. But the guy I spoke to gave me a peace of mind informing me about my other options such as going one size bigger and that would just make my life a lot easier.. I went in right away and the worker pulls up all of my options and working with me to get to a place where I felt comfortable and got the tires and was out of the place within 45min. All the workers seemed to be very professional (even though they all seemed so young!) and I was very happy with my experience. =) read more

Why have you made it so difficult to do business with you? I have been going to this location for several years. I have always been happy with the service and the price. A highlight of the business has always been the after-hours key drop and the ability to just walk in to get new tires. Both of these things have recently changed. They no longer have an after hours drop box and they are no longer doing walk in service. For $15 more on a set of 4 tires I went to Les Schwab. They have an after hours key drop and although they don't do walk ins, they were able to fit me into their schedule 14 hours from now. Got there around 10:50 to check in for my 11am appointment, and I was out of there by 11:40. 10min a tire to mount and balance is what I learned in auto shop class so seems like fast service to me! Wow. After shopping for tires for a week and getting ridiculous prices back, Discount Tire seemed too good to be true. I made an appointment for 8:30, I was driving away with new tires by 9. They came out to check my car and get the make and model, then we went back and they showed me a list of all their tires for my car. We went over the pros and cons of the cheaper tires over the more expensive, and then I made my choice. They then took my car and I barely waited at all before I was done. My tires came with a 3 year warranty that they didn't even mention, and free tire rotation pretty much as many times as I want. Great customer service, and I really felt like they were paying attention to what I needed. Most importantly they didn't try to push anything on me. They gave me the real differences between the tires without pushing one brand over another. They only do tires, so they didn't suddenly realized I needed half my car repaired and try to tack on fees. I came in for tires, I got tires, and then I left. Can't recommend them enough. Definitely planning to be a repeat customer. read more

First and foremost, I use to frequent using them for my tires. Today, I am rethinking my decision. I purchased tired for my husband with my discount card, he was charged and was told he did not have a balance when the card had a balance. He was not told the charge went through and was double charge, on top of that the service was not done. I had to personally go in and ask what was going on. They finally admitted they made a mistake and tried to make it better with a gift car. insult to injury the over charge, drained the credit card and left me with a negative balance. due to their mistake I am left with an over draft and nothing better. I bought brand new tires here a few months ago. I reluctantly came to Discount Tire, not excited about needing to spend money on new tires but it was necessary. Anyway, fast forward to today when my car tire pressure light came on and I look to find a nail in my back tire. I took my car back to Discount Tire hoping that it would be covered on the warranty that I purchased (you know how warranties can be). I was walked out to inspect the tire immediately upon arrival, then was told they would replace it under my warranty no problem.
