I have bought three sets of tires from this Discount Tire. They have good tires, good prices and do decent work. The problem I have is with the sales reps. They sneak in warranties and TPMS rebuilds without telling you. The first set of tires I prepaid online and was able to remove all warranties and TPMS rebuilds before talking to a rep. I had no problems at the shop when I got the tires installed. On the second set of tires (not bought online) I told them I did not want the TPMS rebuild. I was told it was not something they can remove due to safety reasons. I believed them and had no problem paying for it. The very next customer after me complained about the TPMS rebuild and they instantly removed the charge. The third set of tires I bought the rep said, "Like every tire we sell here, it comes with a lifetime warranty." He did not tell me the warranty costs extra. I knew the warranty cost extra and told him I'm not paying extra for it. I had a friend get tires here last week and had told her the issues I have had with them prior to her going. Discount Tire added the TPMS rebuild to her bill without telling her about it. Please do your homework before going here and getting charged for something you don't need. read more

I buy all my tires here. For my Jeep Wrangler and Honda Accord. Everyone has always been helpful but today I had to write a review because I just came to have my air pressure checked, and Allen noticed my front tires were wearing out. I listened to his recommendations and he listened to my situation, and we were able to get me back on the road for a super fair price. Even if I'm working with a different associate, Allen has always been around to say hi. Worst tire service ever!! Not only do you get disrespected but you get told that you are old from the manager. The manager, John, is condescending and acts as if he is the "cock of the walk." I have been running studded snow tires for more than 30 years on my vehicles as well as work vehicles and John informed that I didn't know what I was talking about because I was "old." The manager of this store talks down to people and expects you to believe what he says because he has 12 years of experience. 2500 miles and have studded snow tires that are worn through because of daily commutes between Minden and Carson City. Ridiculous! This is their second chance with us and we hope to never have to deal with them again. Would give them less than 1 star if possible. Definitely wouldn't recommend dealing with the cocky weekend manager, John and would avoid doing business with them all together! Do not use Discount Tires in Carson City Nevada! What a joke!! They leave lead weights on their parking lot. Humans being on the top of the food chain eat the fish that live downstream from their parking lot which are contaminated with lead every time it rains. Just what we need are more birth defects and special needs kids. Also they did a sloppy job working on my car. They left the door unlocked and I had my GPS inside which somebody could have swiped. They tried to sell me stuff I didn't need just to make commission. They had me wait 2 hours for something basic which they could have just fit me into their schedule. Their work is subpar. In my life time I have had a lot of experiences with tires. My first job was tire repair in my grandmother's garage in Ohio. So I can appreciate the work that goes into patching, (we used to plug tires). Mounting balancing and all that. In all the tire sales and service places from Carson City, to Portland Oregon I have dealt with I have to say the deals, the service we have been getting from Discount Tire is above anyone else!!! They have been able to meet or beat any other price we have compared, and when we had problems with a set of tires a few years ago, they upgraded for no extra cost and said to us," we want to do whatever we can to keep your service and make you happy with our products. They even reimbursed us for having Les Schwab fix a flat tire in bum-F*#$@ Idaho. Now that was the Salem, Or Discount Tire. Here in Carson and in Reno we have found the same service and attitude. Recently a tire store in Dayton would not fix a leaking tire for a friend who purchased the tire from them without an appointment. Discount tire fix the flat and rotated her tire for no cost the same day with about 30 minute wait because they believe in good customer service. I highly recommend Discount tire to anyone, we even got the best deal on a set of quad tires from them. We actually call around each time we need tires. For my neighbor and friends we got them the best deals in comparing them to Les Schwab, Big O, Valdomart, and COSTO. Not knocking COSTO, good place to shop, but for the money and the excellent service Discount Tires are hands down the best in my many years of experience. Oh and if you need to get a leaky tire, flat repaired, or tires rotated, no appointment necessary. Might have to wait for 30 minutes but it gets done the same day. Buyers Beware: Unless you're just using this joint to order specialty or performance tires (and you don't mind waiting for weeks,) just skip. Both times my wife visited she was scammed. They quote a low price to fix, then magically "don't have anything cheaper in stock." They do this every time you come in for a same-day fix, regardless of how common a tire is. Everyone was very friendly, and my tires we're changed super quickly and efficiently. I live in LA but if I lived anywhere within realistic driving distance, I would definitely choose them to give my business to. MISERABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! If I could give a MINUS 5 STARS I would!! I called the store at 8:20am to see if 2 tires I needed were in stock. Zachary the salesperson said they were and to come on in. I waited on my vehicle from 10:25am to 3:03pm. 8 to 10 customers were waited on and handled while I waited in the lobby. I went to have a nail in my tire repaired. I was told that it was in a spot that wasn't repairable. I was then told my tires with 10,000 miles on them were in bad shape and needed to be replaced, because AWD cars are hard on tires. They kindly offered to put my spare on and order 2 new tires, not advisable to order just one. I thought I was being taken, so went to a competitor down the street. I usually go to Sears or Costco for my tires. This year the automotive and sales staff at Sears did not seem interested in helping me get the tires I wanted (which need to be special ordered). I was told to go online and try to get them myself as they were too busy to help me. After a frustrating hour of trying to do that (online it said "please contact sales staff") called Discount Tires and within minutes they had found my tires and assured me they would be there within a week. the price was slightly less than at Sears. They were there two days later and I was able to just drive up without an appointment and had them put on with no waiting. The sales staff, including Alan were amazingly nice and helpful and assisted me in also getting an additional rebate. The next time I drove the car I noticed that one of the tires was flat-I had driven all the way to work on it (3 miles) and it looked to be in pretty bad shape. The sales staff at Discount tires agreed to order another tire and replace it right away for no charge regardless of what was wrong with it. Very good service indeed! Thanks Discount Tires! OMG! I've never had a better experience even in fine dining. I went to my local dealership and very perfunctorily was offered several options. I took those to Les Schwab, I was basically told they could do the same price with a few more miles so I walked into discount tire and the clerk was very friendly very accommodating and he asked me what my biggest need was and I said I want more miles for my dollars I was quoted 70,000 miles for $835 so I want more at a discount he immediately didn't give me any options because he knew exactly what I needed and he filled my order with a 90,000 mile tire at $100 less then the others I'm very excited and I had less than 25 minutes to get them on and out for another appointment and they got me out on time. A little disappointed, when job was finished I was told that my spare was returned to its place under the rear of my truck. In addition was told that 36 lbs air was placed in all the tires. Got to my next stop about 20 miles away and noted the spare was in the bed of the truck and I checked the tires and they only had 30 lbs of air. I am big on INTEGRITY and this was a fail. read more

Giving 2 stars because of how much I USED to love this place, they had good deals and great service but now they are useless and just about sales. They Tried to up sell me on tires I didn't need and only presented me with the sales when I was about to walk out without purchasing any tires at all. Then a day or two after they put on brand new tires my tire pressure light came on, when I brought it in to be checked first they told me I had no tire pressure sensor, apparently my light is purely for decoration, when they finally found my sensor they assured me nothing was wrong with my tires or my sensor it just needed to be reset. Well a week later I got a flat because there was a screw in my tire! Apparently my tires were not ok and my sensor was working just fine, it was warning me just like it should be and had they actually looked at my tires instead of just telling me they did maybe it would have been fixed in the first place, then still instead of apologizing for their mistake they tried to blame my sensor again claiming it was not very accurate (literally never seen that light on before this incident) and it was just a coincidence the screw was in the tire now, what a strange coincidence! A tire pressure light on and then a screw that caused low tire pressure, yup that couldn't possibly be related. read more

Save some time, frustration and your cars studs and vibration problems by going to the reno area stores if you really want discount tire prices. Otherwise steer clear and know theres a reason they run specials all the time to get unknowing customers to come in and get their car parts lost or broken and leave there unsatisfied! The last time i was in there the manager allen was yelling at the techs when there were 4 people standing around inside on their iphones! Just went in yesterday to get new tires on the Titan. I had placed the order and set up an appt online which was nice. When I arrived Allan strolled out and confirmed that I was indeed Mr. Potter. I then handed him my keys and noticed that my tires were in the bay waiting to be mounted onto my rims. I was only there maybe all of 30 mins which was awesome. There was only 3 other people there at the time which I am assuming was just because of the time frame I made my appt. I had just missed a promo they were running which would have saved me an additional $100.00. Fortunately Michelin is running a deal that almost saved me the same amount of money. Definitely would have been nice to get them both though;) The guys at the front seemed knowledgeable but I have a sneaking suspicion they work on commission. Overall a good experience (hoping the rebate thing works out better than it did with Kara). I would shop here again. read more

I bought 4 tires for my trailer, when I first got them on, I noticed 2 tires weren't mounted correctly so I had to take them back. One of the tires also had a plug like it had previously had a leak. The tires have been used for 600 miles and 2 of the tires are bald as hell and the other 2 are brand new. I have a 2 axel trailer so the tires were on different axels. I called multiple times and the salesman would not call me back. I called one more time and they said the tires were in, great customer service on returning calls or letting me know my tires were in. I went in to get them and they charged me full price for them. I will never go back there and I will never refer anyone to them. read more

Discount Tire should be out of business with what they charge. Don't go there! Costco would have cost me $150 less than these jerks. I can't beleive that they charge on top of the price of the tires for hazard repair (which is warranted in the price of the tire from the manufacturer) and life time balance? Who decides what the lifetime is? Well I'm sure it discount tire. What for one year. Now im stuck going to these jerks for rotation and repair. I was there and paid for my tires weeks in advanced. I get there the second they let me know they are at the store to get them put on my car. And they said it should take about 1 1/2 hours so I went and let the time pass I then head back and people that came after me were already all taken care of and I ask and they said oh not too much longer 2 hours later people aren't doing anything and it took more than 3 people to give me my rebate it wasn't even worth it if I didn't already pay for my tires I would have left and was better off going and getting the tires else where. read more

This review is written for Discount Tire in Carson City specifically, and as a general review for Discount Tire/America's Tire Company (same business, but operates using different names in different states). I've purchased the last half dozen (or so) sets of tires for my cars at America's Tire Co. in Simi Valley, and have always been impressed and pleased with the friendly staff and quick service. I had just purchased a new set of tires a couple of months ago, and picked up a nail (or other) on our drive to Tahoe last week. We changed the tire ourselves, and continued on to Tahoe. The next day, I went to Discount Tire in Carson City to have the tire fixed, even though much closer tire stores were available to me in South Lake Tahoe. I was met by Allen who instantly offered a handshake (which speaks volumes, in my book), who quickly proceeded to inspect the vehicle and tire. The vehicle was promptly driven into the bay, and the tire was removed, repaired, and replaced in less than 30 minutes after we first drove onto the parking lot, all for no cost. During my time in the waiting area, I observed at least 8 other customers entering the store who were greeted in the same courteous, professional, by friendly manner by each of the Discount Tire staff persons there. I will continue to buy my tires at America's Tire Company (or Discount Tire, if I'm outside of California), and will drive the extra mile to seek service by them, if need be. read more

I had great service and tires last year, so I returned for snow tires. Staff and service still 5stars. BUT when my new tires were put on, I did not make it 20 yards and the tire pressure system warning came on. I immediately returned and the tech said one tire was 10 pounds low pressure, he refilled it but did not check the tire. Sure enough, the next time I went to the car, the tire was pancake flat. Now Discount tires did really man up to the occasion. With some slight pressure from me, they sent someone to me to put the spare on and then drove back with me to the store where they rechecked all 4 tires. Torn grommet appears to have been the problem. So one star off for not troubleshooting when I immediately came back with a problem BUT must give lots of kuddos for taking responsibility that they had not fixed the problem initially and going an extra mile to fix it!! And five stars off for myself for not pushing the issue when the TPS said there was a problem. read more

Purchased four new tires which are suppose to include new valve stems. Upon further inspection at home I notice that the valve stems were the original 10 year old ones and that two of my wheels had very deep identical looking gouges cut into the edges when the tires were removed or installed. DONE! Will never set foot in that store again. read more
