The BOSS CHANGED MY TIRES! WHAT A STAFF. 12 years ago I put tires with same people! Service? Senior and military. I checked prices at every tire dealer in Carson City proper. Actually after extensive research, Discount Tire on South Carson is the best value, the incredible lowest cost per tire, the absolute cheapest mounting (for my car), and to date, I've new-tired 5 vehicles in 12 years, including an RV, Jeep monster, and low profile tires. Recommendations for best fit, safest fit and on SS, fit my budget beyond my expectations. My son has fitted a fleet in Vegas and continues here in Carson City. I came close to exuberant now that the car wheels fit firm on the road now. I won't be worried if a mom with kids buys this car now. read more

A: Go to an independent tire shop instead! Not only will you support a local business, but you'll get the work done cheaper by someone with pride in their work and years of experience. And best of all, in the off chance they strip or break one of your studs they are fully capable of fixing their own messes. In fact, when Discount Tire screws up they will send you to a local shop anyways since they lack the skills to fix their own problems (We were sent to Breaks and Alignment Plus in Carson City and I can definitely recommend them). Q: How do you get accountability, apologies or compensation when you lose time and money due to Discount Tire's mistakes? A: I have absolutely no idea since all we got were excuses and empty promises of being called back. 20 days later we're still waiting for a call from the manager whom we were promised a call from on two different occasions. The closest thing we got to compensation was an offer to get $20 off the tire change that they had already screwed up once, great freakin deal. Never again. 48 hours after I but 4 new tires and one is already flat. I call to ask how they are going to fix it and apparently I have to get off work and change into a spare (mind you I am in a skirt and heals) then drive to them. At least Less Schwab comes to me. So disappointed. I guess you get what you pay for. The only reason I am okay with any stars is the customer service (before flat) was good. UPDATE- my tire was installed with a broken valve stem and my pressure sensor was floating around inside my tire. Almost 100 to fix cause I could not get back to Carson to have them look at it. Absolutely fantastic customer service! The store is neat and clean. The staff is well-dressed, professional and friendly. I came by for a complementary tire rotation (even though I had purchased my tires at a different location). As I got out of my truck, I was approached in the parking lot by one of the employees who took down my mileage and drove my truck into one of the service bays. After a brief friendly conversation with some of the guys behind the front desk, they pulled my truck up in front of the store, handed me my keys and I was on my way. Less than 10 minutes. Couldn't agree on when the ordered tires would be shipped, finally "Jerry" confirmed it would be two days. Waited three days, then the weekend and then Monday night they confirmed he never actually ordered them. Long story short...if you aren't buying four tires or you'd just like to get the best rate, save yourself some hassle and order online via the wholesaler on USA parkway. I bought wheels at Discount Tire in Reno a few years ago. Turns out the center caps of this particular wheel don't stay on very well. I replaced the center caps a few times previously, but lost two more recently. Discount Tire had a hard time finding replacement center caps because this model is no longer manufactured (no surprise). Although it appeared that I might have to replace my wheels, Allen worked really hard and found me not just two replacements, but four so that I have some spares in case any more get lost. I felt that Allen and his staff went above and beyond typical service in finding the replacements and putting them on as securely as possibly. The last discount tire in st george ut they would of pulled my car in and got me out of there with customers ahead without an appointment. Got new tires at the Carson location, took them 3 hrs to get 2 tires on. Slow, dont care for customer service. I used discount in st George ut, because they where fast efficient and had hella good services. I didn't even need to go into the store. They would meet me at my car before I could even get out. I has noticed the work ethic around the Carson area is very por. You want to keep costumers, keep them happy. Their are to many clean shirts walking around with idle hand as the Carson location. This is my 3rd purchase here. Pleased as punch all 3 times. This morning I tried Costco Tire Center & had a horrible experience after driving 45 miles in a scary snowstorm on bald tires only to be turned away by morons who gave me bad information over the phone the previous day. Costco really blew it, I was frozen & almost in tears when I decided to try Discount Tires and they saved the day! Not only did they have the Bridgestones I wanted but the price was almost the same as Costco. Of course they were slammed with our first fall storm but remained courteous & polite to everyone keeping me informed of the progress of my car. Zak was my tire expert & I'm totally happy with the service & excellent product. Next time I'll make an appointment then walk across the street to Applebees for a cocktail. read more

When I pulled into the parking lot at Discount Tire, I was greeted by a very friendly associate who explained the curbside assistance policy that they currently have going on. Poor customer service. Realistically I only waited for about 5 minutes but not a single person even acknowledged me. They were all busy with either another customer or taking a phone call but not a single person even looked up to acknowledge that I was there. So I walked out. Clearly they don't need my money because business is so good. And just a small customer service tip: other than acknowledging people when they walk into your store, maybe take off your sun glasses once you're inside since UV light doesn't penetrate buildings. I scheduled an appointment for a rotation and balance but got worried when I arrived and the CST was telling customers there was a very long wait. (Over 2 hours). I asked how long my wait would be and was told the next open bay was mine. I was out of there with my tires rotated and balanced in 25 minuets. The crew was running from car to car trying to get everything done as soon as possible. It was getting close to closing time, yes, but I was very impressed with their hustle. DO NOT GO TO CARSON CITY DISCOUNT TIRES. I'm not going to go into all the details regarding my experience at the Carson City Discount Tires. I don't have that much time. I will say this. This should have been simple replacement rim for my truck. We are now 5 weeks in. I have made 6 trips to the store, spoken with 4 different people, including two managers, had an employee refer to my vehicle as a "Frankenstein truck", had three separate employees, including one manager tell me that Discount Tires "obviously dropped the ball", over three weeks I made multiple attempts to leave messages for a manager to call me, then made a trip to the store to talk to a manager only to find out there is no manager working on Saturday's, then leaving an additional written request for a call, expecting that two days later on Monday but didn't receive a call until Wednesday. Finally, I was contacted. I was told they really wanted to make it right. What was their solution? I purchase a more expensive rim and they would give me 20% off the part. Really? I have 5 trips to the store, 10-12 hours of my time wasted, been told they screwed up multiple times, made at least 8 phone calls, and still have my "Frankenstein" wheel - but we will give you 20% off the new rim. Aren't we great? I do not recommend Carson City Discount Tires. But if you do go, pray the job is done right - because if it isn't, getting problems solved is very difficult and will cost you more time and money. read more

I recently bought 4 new Snow and Mud tires at Discount Tires. The employees were amazing, outstanding, I cannot praise them enough. My husband ordered the tires and I asked to check them before they were placed on the car so I knew the tires ordered were going on my car. I was shown the tires without any complaint and informed frequently during my time there what the status was on my tires. I was a walk in customer, the place was really busy. Despite how busy it was I observed all staff to be friendly and professional. I would not go anywhere else and have shared my experiences with friends. While the help may be nice on the phone, they seem to be extremely unorganized and certainly overwhelmed. I called a week ago and spoke with a very nice man who clearly made the appt. I simply tried to call to confirm it and got a recording that played over and over, the same message. After about 10 mins I had to hang up. I waited another 10 mins. and tried again. Same experience. I hung up and tried again right away and got a voice. I explained the situation to him who said he'll ck on the appt and would be right back. Didn't explain he was with another customer. I waited again another 10 mins hung up and tried again about 10 mins later.. Same young man admitted he's in the middle of a transaction he'll call me back. 20 mins. went by, no call back. At this point after dealing with these guys for over an hour! my curiosity got the better of me and I called again, got a voice and asked to confirm my appt. again. He quickly checked and said the appt. did not go through. No sorry, no offering when the next time would be when they could take me, nothing. This store is useless. First time I bought a new set of Cooper's and they would not balance, tires gave a vibration every time from 35-45MPH, after 5 trips in and them rebalancing (doing nothing), I went to North Reno location who replaced them with BF Goodrich and took care of the issue. After a few rotations the S. Carson store said the tread was to low to rotate, and wanted me to buy a new set, so I had to go to Reno to get rotated. Next set of BF Goodriches were purchased and now with 20000 miles on that set they won't rotate, and want to sell me new- NEVER go to Carson, they use scare tactics and are POS. read more

On a recent trip to Reno we ran over a nail causing the tire to start going flat immediately while on 395. We looked up America Tire/Discount Tire and found this one. As soon as we pulled in (even though they appeared to be very busy) Christian came out and waited on us and could hear the air leaking out of tire. He looked us up in the computer and found the size tire and confirmed they had it in stock if the tire wasn't repairable. After getting tire off he found it would have to be replaced. I pulled up and was very impressed with how clean and organized the place looked. I went in for a quote on new tires and alignment. The guy was extremely pushy. I planned to have new tires put on the following weekend. I told him that, and he asked me twice for my keys so they could get some new tires on the car, but they don't do alignments but could send me to some guy to do it. I told him not today and he seemed annoyed. He told me not to go anywhere else because they have the cheapest prices around. The next quote I got was from tires plus, which was over $50 cheaper. With that said, I bought tires from this Les Schwab last year that have a 50k mile warranty. I went in for the rotation(06/01/2021ish) and and was advised I need new tires by measure. I advised I bought the tires less than a year ago. Spoke with the manager Jason who said they definitely qualify for warranty. Jason also advised to drive on them a bit longer to get some more wear on them and come back in latter winter and they will warranty them. I went back today to follow up with Jason as instructed. I was met with the same kind lady that was there back in June. I began explaining what I was there for and a man behind the counter at one of the computers chimed in and said Jason's not here I made him take a vacation. I was like okay. The associate I was working with continued to type information in and then said based off the prorated amount for miles, I would be getting back slightly over half what I paid toward another set of tires. I said that does not seem right to me. The other person at the computer chimed in again and reiterated hat the associate said. I said I was advised by YOUR people to drive on them some more to rack up miles. He said yes to meet the warrantee wear. I said I was there back in JUNE! The whole time I was talking to this person, he did not look up at me. He was staring at the computer. Pompous, rude, and arrogant. I ask his name and he said Michael. Come to find out this is the STORE MANAGER! I have a 10+ year standing account with Les Schwab and spend YEARLY with them and you cant look up or address me like a customer. This guy could nit be bothered. I told the associate I will take my vehicle elsewhere. Michael did not so much as raise an eyebrow to ask why. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!! I took my vehicle to be serviced at the other Les Schwab in town. After explaining my experience to one of the associates, they said let me guess Michael? I was also informed this person has had MANNNY complaints against him to corporate and yet they do nothing. The associate then had me speak with Guy to get the work done. He is fantastic. So. I bought a set of tires for north of $800 that have a 50k warranty that lasted less than 15k and then told to drive on them some more.
