I went to Discount Tire after the last place I went told me I needed a new tire for a nail puncture. Over the phone, I set up an appointment to buy a $150 tire. When I got to the store, Ken looked at the puncture and said that they might be able to repair it. It turned out that they could. They repaired the tire free of charge, saving me a lot of money. It's so rare to find a place in this day and age that doesn't take advantage of you. Discount Tire could have easily sold me the new tire and taken my money, but instead they did the honest thing and repaired the one I had for no profit at all. I posted a help classified on a local motorsports forum. I instantly got a response from someone who apparently worked at this particular discount tire. He called me personally and told me to come in during his hours so he could help me himself. We had discussed my issues the night before so on both of our lunch breaks, I came down to Discount Tire and he was waiting for me. Didn't have to re-explain my situation, he remembered everything. He accepted me first in line and made sure he took care of me himself. He finished my whole job (replacing tires onto my new rims) in less than 20 minutes. He finished the whole job before my lunch break even ended. Not only that, I asked him about wheel locks and he gave me a great price for a really nice set on the spot. I asked to keep the old tires (people usually don't let you do this) and he put them in my trunk. Everyone there was extraordinarily nice and fair to me, even though I'm a young woman. Best service I've ever gotten! I recommend them to anyone and everyone who needs help with their tires, particularly Ben. The price was awesome too. I am so pleased that someone works so hard for his company, even off the clock, to find clients and people who need help. This is the kind of behavior that keeps good businesses alive. I keep in touch with some of their employees with any of my car troubles, wheel and tire related or not. I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could. read more

This review isn't for Discount tire, it is for where they advised me to go for auto mechanic service. Shame on Discount Tire for sending me to this disreputable company. Jr's Muffler and Brakes on 8 Mile Rd. In Warren replaced a water pump and U-joint on my truck. After a few days the water was still leaking from a metal tube going into the wate pump which they did not find. The U-joint clips were not assembled correctly, it was binding and coming apart after only 5 weeks. Had I driven on freeway going north to cottage, I and others could have been killed. This was a $1500.00 job that was still under warranty but chose to take to a reputable mechanic that I found. Have been to Skips twice and very honest and fair. I wouldn't take my mothers walker to get fixed at Jr's Muffler and Brakes, they couldn't put tennis balls on walker feet correctly. End result... A $1500.00 job by Jr's fixed for $281.00 at Skips. BTW. He said I was ripped off!!! read more

I made an 8am appointment online the evening before, I arrived about 15 minutes early and waited for Discount Tire to open. At exactly 8am they rolled the garage doors up and welcomed myself and the other customers waiting in the lot, once inside I was guided to the computers and my order was reviewed by a technician. He was polite and informed about his products, he had an alternative tire to offer with solid reasoning behind his recommendation, which I took, especially since it didn't cost me one cent more, and at about 8:05 my car was on the lift and work had begun. The young man who was taking care of me explained the rebate offers I qualified for, offered me a cup of hot coffee and pointed me to the waiting area, at 8:26 my car had 4 new tires, balanced, mounted and hand torqued and I was on my way! I only have one complaint, and that is that service was so fast and efficient that I was back on I-75 heading home right in the middle of rush hour, I assumed that the appointment would take at LEAST an hour, and thought I planned accordingly. This store is a great example of the dying art of customer service, and the discount tire chain obviously values repeat business and has continued to earn mine. read more

I have been going to this shop for the last 10 years since we moved to the area with 3 different vehicles . I went in for service on 8/5/15 at approximately 10am for 3 new Goodyear F1 Asymmetrical 2 tires (they recently replaced one that blew out). The tires needed to be shipped from another local store, rep said I could wait - to me this indicates it would not take very long. I asked the rep about windshield replacement and he recommended a shop that I ultimately went with after calling around town for pricing. I paid for the 3 tires in full and decided to walk home and wait it out there. At 4:30pm, when the windshield guys came to replace the windshield they asked for the keys from the shop... the shop said they did not have my keys and I was not in for service. I had to walk up to the shop and clear up the key situation. When I asked why they said they did not have my keys all I got was a blank stare, no explanation, no apology, nothing. They had my keys but were unaware I was a customer that day. Keys in hand, my windshield was getting repaired, and a tech comes strolling out, stop halfway and says "oh you're not ready yet?" At this point, my car sat in the lot for almost 7 hours untouched by Discount Tire. With my windshield replaced, I went back inside and told them the car was ready for service and headed back home. At 5:50, my wife drove me back up to Discount Tire, I checked my car's tires and no service had been performed yet. They close at 6pm. I went inside and asked for my money back. A tech immediately pulls my car into the garage. I demand my money back. The rep I was dealing with tries to explain that he was away at lunch during the key incident and he was sorry and he was the only one who knew about my service contract for that day AND that he placed my work order in the "completed" bin. I again tell him I want my money back. He says they can do the work in 10 minutes and he will even help out, to which I say, where was that level of service anywhere in the past 8 hours? He begrudgingly convinces me to go through with the repair only to return seconds later and says they were sent the wrong tires, all seasons and not the ultra performance summer tires I requested. I was refunded in full. As I am walking out through the garage to get in my car and leave I hear a tech say "has this guy finally decided what to do with his car". Again, I WAS a 10 year customer but I will never go back to this store again. If it was just one thing, one hiccup, I could see past it, we are human after all but, this level of incompetence is unforgivable to me. Let this serve as a warning, you are only a dollar sign here. Customer loyalty apparently means nothing as it has been 1 week and there has been no attempt to make amends whatsoever. Customer service is a dying art and Discount Tire in Centerline, MI is helping to kill it. read more

Came here to have my winter wheels swapped out to my summer wheels(which needed hub centric rings installed as well) the hub centric rings they said would fit did not fit. They they put my winter wheels back on. Charged me 20$ for the labor and refunded me. ALL GOOD. 2 weeks later a bring my own hub centric rings and the guy charges me $40 for labor. I tell him last time they charged me $20, and he even says he can see my last visit on the computer but claims "$40 nothing I can do". This place and its workers are Grimy want to be salesman. read more

Probably the worst discount tire I've ever been to. I made my appointment early on Monday morning for Wednesday afternoon at 1:30. I arrived at 1. I blew my tire hitting a pothole so my spare was on and my original tire was in my trunk. The guy went to look at my tire and as he was attempting to close my trunk, I asked if my rim was bent. He glanced at it for maybe 3 seconds and then said hesitantly "oh yeah, it's bent. You'll need all new ones". I "glanced" at it multiple times before coming and couldn't see where it was bent. Now he's trying to sell me rims that I don't want. I made an appointment and I've already been waiting an hour. What's the point?! read more

If I could give this store less than one star I would. I was in there today at 1:47 p.m. I had what appeared to be a nail in my tire. No leak...just a nail. The young man who was taking care of me came out to tell me that my tire had been previously patched with a "rope repair" and they could not fix it...I needed a new tire. The tire had never had a problem before. No way was it previously patched. I told them I was going to take it back to the dealership. They replaced stem om the tire (not broken) left the nail in the tire and said they couldn't do anything for me but replace the tire. I went to Rinke (the dealership half a mile down the road) only to find out that the nail head was wedged in the crevice of the tire. No previous patch, no "rope" repair, no leak and no problem with the tire. I am appalled that a business attempt a this in today's day and age. I'm guessing that they thought they had an easy mark in an older woman. Stern email to the company and no business from me or anyone who will listen to me. read more

Was here on Tuesday along with everyone else from the area it seemed. These roads are just horrific and places like this make out huge! I will say although I waited about 3 hours for my tire to get fixed the customer service was indeed good. This is why I will give them 4 stars and nothing less. Before I begin, please understand that this is something I don't usually do. I go day by day experiencing different levels of service and never complain or compliment. It has always been easier for me that way, but.... There was no way I could not express the gratitude and appreciation for Sean at Discount Tire!!! First and foremost, I gave him a difficult task of finding a certain tire spec for a staggered set of wheels on my Mercedes. Then made it more difficult by telling him I needed it done the same day. Without flinching, he told me to give him 20 minutes and he would call me back. Belle Tire in Madison Hgts didn't call me back. Sears in Troy didn't call me back. Only Sean! Not only did he get the tires, he gave me the best quote out of all three! Without me even telling him I spoke to other retailers. This has solidified me and my wife as supporters of this Discount Tire location. By the way, the tire specs I needed were 285/30/20 rear and 255/30/20 front. Not easy to find. I came in for a simple tire rotation and balance. The gentleman at the counter quoted me about a 30-45 minute wait. At least an hour later, they still haven't started. Only two of there work stations had cars. Two employees working while the rest of them were messing around. I observed this for at least 20 minutes before my car was finally taken in. I like discount tire. I usual take my vehicle to another shop. Don't know if I'll return to this shop. The first impression is a lasting impression. read more

Stopped by discount tire just to see if they could do something for me, he repaired it 5 mins and didn't charge me anything. I went here because I had a nail in my tire and I heard they fix flats for free. I spent 4 almost 5 hours of my day waiting for my car to be done. I dropped it off at 12:30 & came back at 4:15 and they still haven't worked on it. One of the guys says they couldn't fix my tire because they didn't want to break the wheel lock. The guy said he put pressure on it and thought it was going to break, he said to take it to the dealership. He then made me wait around until he felt like giving me my keys, I was just sitting there waiting while he was helping everyone else. I didn't leave until 5pm. I called my Dad because he's good with cars and he got the tire off in 2 minutes literally. He said it was one of the easiest tires he's taken off. Discount tire treated me horrible and just didn't want to fix my tire because it was free. I have a newer car and they knew I wasn't going to purchase anything. Awful service I will never recommend anyone to go here. Waste of time completely. read more

Love this location! They are always so helpful and don't treat you like an idiot! The last couple times i had to take my van in for flats before work they were fast, courteous, and awesome! Prices are great and they don't pressure you to buy anything. They also will do air checks on your tires in between service. read more

I purchased new tires at this location. I had a spare wheel (brand new) and asked if one of the old tires could be put on this wheel so I would have a full spare tire rather than the donut tire that came with the car. I was told this would not be a problem. When I was called and told my car was ready, I went out and before I left I gave the car a once over. I checked the trunk and found that they forgot to put one of the old tires on the wheel. I went back in to remind them and was told it would be done right away. Thirty minutes later I checked to see if this was done yet. The counter technician went out and found that it was ready, but no one had let him know. I took the spare tire home and a few days later was going to put it in the trunk to replace the donut spare. I found that there was no air in it (7psi). I sprayed it with liquid soap and found rim leaks on both sides of the tire. Apparently the service tech. just slapped the tire on without using any tire bead sealant. This is not something that would be overlooked at a tire store. I was very disappointed at being treated in this way. I will not return. read more
