You don't always judge a company by good initial service, but how they treat you when something goes wrong. my F350 Dually had tires mounted by Discount and a few months later I started getting a slow leak. The guys were great! Don't worry we'll take care of it. they said it was my tpms valve and they rebuilt it. how great was that. Next day I still noticed the leak and brought it back. they told me I needed a new valve and I could get one from the dealer and they would install at no cost. So I did, and they installed it. still leaked so I brought it back, the technician called me to say that he didn't have the right tools and felt he needed to torque the valve better and would get it done when one of the other employee's brought the tool back. got the truck later that day and parked it. the next day I went to check the air pressure and noticed a perfect circular line gouged into my wheel. went into the store and they took accountability for it and would get back to me. life happened and I told them that I would be gone for a bit with the truck out of state and I put air in the tire every day, got back and took to the dealership where I was told that I needed a new $1,000 wheel because where the valve was put in was gauged and was leaking from the rim. Took the paperwork from Ford to Discount and they immediately got the ball rolling to refund me for the wheel. They really stood up to being a good company and I will continue getting my tires there. Just felt that others should know that this company will stand by its work. Very disappointed with my visit at Discount Tire in Encinitas. I was told all 4 of my tire sensors needed to be replaced. After I told the person working that I had just replaced one of them, he then said actually only 3 need to be replaced. I went to Discount Tire in Clairemont after and was told only 2 of the 4 sensors needed to be replaced. The guy working was trying to get me to buy 2 extra sensors. After spending $2,495 on a 2 year Maintenance Package a week ago, you would think I would receive better service!!! I had a low tire pressure alert on my dashboard and I drove in to Encinitas BMW Service Dept. to get help. They told me I had a nail on my left back tire. Instead of helping me out and repairing the nail, since the tire is still good, they tried to sell me new tires for $2,200. I drove straight to Discount Tire in Encinitas and they repaired my tire for FREE!!! This is the second time in 6 months that Discount Tire helps me out on a pinch!!! DO NOT COME HERE FOR WINTER TIRES!! I have plans to move to Montana to work for the winter, which meant I would need to get snow tires in for my 2WD truck to make it through. I came in late September to order my tires. The man said they had winter tires in my size already in stock (which seemed very strange from the start). He said all I needed to do is put down my name and number and I could come get them put on whenever I wanted. He said I didn't even need to call in advance. Fast forward to yesterday. I come in and ask for my tires and they have none of my information. They have no snow tires in stock and nothing that shows I had placed an order. I needed to be in Montana in three days so I asked if they would be able to get snow tires by the next day and they said no problem. I was told to come in at noon today and they would have them ready I call today and no cigar. The tires were left at the warehouse and aren't expected to arrive until tomorrow. I now have no choice but to go without them in order to make it for my first day of work. This business needs ALOT OF WORK when it comes to customer communication, team communication, and frankly doing one of the few jobs they have - ordering and stocking tires. My kids were driving my Honda Pilot when One of the tires exploded while driving on the freeway. AAA puta spare on the car and they drove it to the store in Encinitas, and they were nothing but professional and kind. They were having a busy day so it took us a while to get our vehicle, but when we went to pick it up at the end of the day they were so kind and courteous. These are a great group of folks, particularly when anything goes wrong. I brought my Tesla in for a tire rotation today, and it was unfortunately, a very long wait. Not a huge issue, as I hadn't been able to make an appointment. Car was done in about half the time I was promised. Great! When I got the car however, and got on the road, the tire warning light came on, so I quickly drove back. The wait was about two hours, but thankfully, Will had me drive over to the side, jacked up he car and had a quick look, quickly resolving my issue in about fifteen minutes. Thanks Will! The guys here are top notch! I was having quite the day & stopped in here hoping they could order tires for my VW tiguan since I needed all 4. My schedule isn't the easiest to accommodate & because of that I said I would give them a call back to figure out a different day/option as each time they had available I had to work. Thomas was helping me (super informative & patient with my questions) and Matt overheard the situation, together they came up with a game plan to get me some new tires right then & there. Excellent service ..I had an appointment and arrived about 15 minutes early..I was greeted right away and Matt checked out the tire I was having issues with and gave me an estimated time the car would be ready! On the nose to the very minute..the car was good to go..they found a tiny screw causing a slow leak, patched it up and I was off any running! Everything was socially distanced In the waiting room, keys covered in a ziploc and the staff was amazing keeping things going all masked up! Absolutely recommend them. Take pictures of your rims first. Because they literally scraped my rims on both tires. The lube they use to get the tire on the rim was even mixed in with the deep scratches to prove they did it. But when I complained they told me it was from curb scratches. Not true. He just gave me the very well practiced excuse they give everyone when they ruin someone's rims. I just cleaned my rims two weeks ago and those gouges we not there then. I would have rated zero stars if I could. read more

This place really saved the day for me. At some point on a long road trip, I punctured one of my tires. When I got home, the light was on telling me that my tire pressure was low, and when I went to refill it, there was that big ole bolt sticking out of it. I went to Discount Tire with my fingers crossed I could just get it repaired - it's only a year-old tire. They were able to promptly get me in on a Wednesday early afternoon to take a look. Zak, who helped me out, reassured me that they would do everything they could to try and repair it, or help me get a good deal on a new tire if it came down to it. An hour or so of shopping around the nearby strip mall and I received a call - it had been patched... and the kicker? FOR FREE! I couldn't believe my ears. I had no idea they offered free tire repairs to new customers. Even if it hadn't been free, I still would have returned because the staff was busy, but still took the time to try and help as best they could. I'm impressed and I'll be back when the time comes for those tire rotations! read more

Went in for a slow leak in my tire, fully aware that I may get scammed into buying a replacement. Thankfully, these guys were 100% honest and pulled a piece of metal out of the tread, plugged the hole and sent me on my way. The 5 stars comes from their voluntary admission that they damaged a component of my rim. The rep told me in advance and ordered a new piece at their cost. They could have easily played stupid and denied it, but they took responsibility and replaced the damage they caused. read more

When you buy tires from a man named Sergio who works at Discount Tire in Encinitas, SD, be cautious. I bought new tires from him, Sergio, at the store a few days ago. I was happy about the quality of the tires and the overall experience I had at the store until I saw the receipt and noticed that I was charged $86 for "certificates for refund or replacement" that he never mentioned nor that I never agreed to purchase. In addition to the cost of four tires that amount to $600 in total plus the $88 installation fee ($22 per tire), he charged extra $86 ($21.50 per tire) for the certificates for refund or replacement without any explanation or my consent. I may have happily agreed to purchase it if he had explained it to me but he HAD NOT. Far from explaining to me about the program, he did not even mention it when he covertly sold it and stole $86 from me. I literally found out about this warranty that I was unknowingly charged for when I checked the receipt at home. I don't know if he tried to take advantage of me or what because I am a "young lady" (his word). Whatever his intention was, I am truly disappointed and absolutely disgusted by his dishonesty.
