Nobody loves having to deal with tire issues - whether leaking and replacing. I marvel at a large business like this that gets it totally right. Top to bottom everyone is nice, respectful, helpful and not condescending. Went in yesterday for a leaking tire first thing in the morning. They did a quick assessment, rolled my car in and was fixed within an hour. Went to talk to the guy and he said it's free. Sweet! All my experiences here have been similar (although not always free). I will only go to this company for anything tire related. Encinitas location is great, but I've been to others and it's consistent across locations. read more

Great experience here. Brought our car to another place to fix what we thought was a slow leak. After the tire pressure sensor went off again, we're able to walk in here to solve the actual problem. Turns out it was a nail in a really hard to find angle. They plugged it, recommended a realignment sooner than later and I was on my way back to the busy day I had in store. I am so pleased with my experience today! I had a screw in my back tire and took my car to a Discount Tire in Oceanside first and they told me they couldn't patch and needed a new tire. They didn't have my tire in stock, but this location did. Took my car to Encinitas and they told me they could indeed patch. They gave me a realistic wait time (which they beat!) and when I came to pick up they didn't charge me. Such friendly service! I'll definitely go back to them when I buy my next set of tires. Made an appointment to have all 4 tires on my Porsche replaced and got there about 30 min earlier. The staff working are professional and courteous. I was in and out in less than an hour. They replaced a part of the tire with a silver piece instead of black (color of the rims) but other than that my new wheels look great. read more

2018 - New Michelins & CF5 Forgestar Wheels. These guys had every opportunity to ask me to leave their site. I am a freak. I can't sleep if my rims are dinged or scratched. I can't live properly if my rig isn't setup the way i want it. I need my wheels "inside" the wheel well, inside. Fernando and the crew here set me up with everything, when i drove home, i wasn't stoked. I called back and didn't like the width of my new Fronts. Again, i need to be inside the wheel well. Fernando had me come back, he corrected the width situation and I am able to function again in society. Not every place is welcoming when you want more work. I've been going to Discount Tire Stores since I first started driving. I've found they alway have competitive prices on tires. I'm even more a fan of their service. They do get pretty busy at times, but as another review already said, they're doing something right! When I've gone in for tires, they alway show you their screen of what tires are in stock. They show you everything from the lease expensive to the most expensive and let you decide. I've never been upsold on any product that they offered, or at least it didn't feel like it. If you're looking to spend a little less on a particular set of tires, just simply ask them for what they can do. Typically i've found that they can adjust any marked price and make the final price fit within your budget. Free tire rotation and flat repair on any tire, even if the tires weren't purchased in their store. The stores have all been well kept and clean. Keep on Yelp'n! read more

I've given this place two chances. Both times my issues was a nail in my tire. Last time the serviceman checking my tire slipped his grip while pulling at the nail with pliers and his pliers dented and scraped my car. This time they patched my tire and left my car sitting in the parking lot unlocked. When I handed them keys, I specifically told them to make sure to lock it. Total incompetence, doesn't reassure me of the quality/safety of their work either. read more

After learning that the Independence day event (4th of July) discount of 15% off was only valid from June 28 to June 30, I was bummed out that I could have gone to Evans Tire and saved over $100 on my tire purchase. I purchased on 7/2/19 two days before Independence Day. I wish I would have read the fine print. In the end no Discount at Discount Tire. Kicking myself now for not going to Evans Tire. Paid $349 for 3 tires At Discount and could have purchased 4 tires at Evans for $379 out the door. This is not a reflection of this store but more so a reflection of Discount Tire Corporation and False Advertising. My Loss. read more

Customer service is definitely a team sport and this is one of those times I wish yelp would let me do 3 different reviews. To start, my family and I have been going to discount tire since we moved to San Diego 20yrs ago. The fix-a-flat and tire inflation are great services they provide. If you're a regular you know the routine, every time you visit they check your tires for tread before service; get the miles and grab the keys. In my case, I visited here bc of low tire pressure, the guy that helped me was super nice, got me in-n-out, checked all my tire tread they're fine, looked for a nail but the tire was just low. Awesome guy 5 star. 36 hrs later, driving home from work same tire is giving a low TP warning...dang it! probably there was a nail or something that couldn't be seen. I roll in about 20 minutes before close, there's a long line. The guy helping me was great. Despite rolling in right before close, he's got a good attitude, super nice and we do the routine: checks all my treads they're fine 4's & 5's, looked for a nail, not to be found, and so he gets it up on the rack and unfortunately the rim was cracked and I needed a new rim. Super bummer but these things happen. Fortunately when I bought my car the guy actually had extra rims yippee! I told the guy helping me and he was like, just bring it back tomorrow and they'll get it taken care of. I'd give him 5 stars. Next guy totally blew it...0-stars. I show up, 3rd visit in 48hrs, tell him the quick story of what I'm there for, we go out to the car and do the tire tread check thing and now, of course I magically need new tires. He's super insistent that I'm dangerously low on tread on two of my tires at 2/11 & 3/11. I let him know that I've been in a bunch and the tire tread was 5/11 and 4/11 so they weren't quite ready to be changed out and in 3-6 months I'll change them. He starts hard selling it, shows me the chart, shows me the tire price etc. and feels almost like he's not going to service without getting new tires...(Worth noting, I'm not sure if they log tire treads in the system but it felt like he might had updated my prior visits.) I let him know I appreciated it but I'll be getting new tires in 6 months, I appreciated the quote and I need to get the tire on the rim and get to work. After that, He let me know theres a $38 charge to mount THE TIRE (that I had previously bought from DT) to the rim. What!?! I was surprised, this was the first it got brought up and I told him I've never had this type of experience at DT given we've always bought our tires here. He said it costs to run the shop and labor. I'm stuck, 3rd trip in 48 hrs, I need to get to work and hostage for $38 bucks. I guess I'm glad he didn't make me buy the new $562 tires in order to get to work. I can't help but think of all the fix a flats and remounting etc that has to be continuous going on all day. Bottom line it would have been free had I bought the $562 of tires he wanted me too and in 6 months I'll need tires but despite how great the other guys were; I'm going to try out Costco's tires. read more

Super Happy with my Experience, Just walked in Early Saturday, and I wanted to replace all 4 tires , they happened to have 2 Front Michelin which is recommended on this Car. , and found the other 2 for the rear (different size on this car ) in LA , so they ordered those and will be here Monday . They asked me if I got 2hours to wait For the 2front replacement, I said sure , not even 40 minute , I see my car pulling out of the shop with new tires. I went to this particular location because my tire light was on. My friend and I were in the area for the weekend. They were really busy, so I felt bad just wanting my tires aired up. Since I wasn't familiar with the location I had to wait in line to ask where to go. The gentleman who helped me looked at my tires & showed me the cracking on the sides. He said since I was just passing through I should think about getting new tires when I get home. The trend was still good. I explained to him the dealership had told me the same thing, but I thought they were just trying to up sell me. He checked my tires & told me where to go for air. The young man who aired up my tires was very personable & kind. Did a great job & got us on our way. I am always so impressed with how great the discount tire teams are. Another wonderful experience. Discount tire Solana Beach have consistently let me down in the customer service aspect so I decided to try out Discount Tire Encinitas. The Encinitas location was still a bad experience. Just like the Solana location, the workers are pretty disrespectful on making a mess of my cream colored suede interior. After checking out and getting my keys, I returned to my car to find oily handprints on the ceiling of my car and visor of my car. I had to walk all the way back to the office and ask someone for cleaning supplies. He said he would "be right out", but I was waiting too long outside of my car I almost left. I think I'm just going to stop going to any Discount tire and return to Costco tires despite it being a slightly longer drive for me. read more

So today was pretty busy and the guy helping me today was really great. There was an issue bc of wheel locks that the dealer had told me they uninstalled but they found a wheel lock that worked on 3/4 of my tires and offered the wheel lock to me. I ended up driving to the dealership around the corner and luckily they had the other one. When I came back he was quick to get my car back in to finish the job and offered to take the locks off so I don't have this issue again. So all in all it was a long affair, but the guys here were great and eager to help. read more

Just brought my car in because of low air pressure warning. Waited where signs told me to wait but no one served me until an employee who appeared to be returning with his lunch around 12:15 yelled out to me to approach. I asked how I would normally be notified when my windows weren't down given that this was my first visit. He said he would throw rocks at my car. He clearly wasn't in the mood to service me. I noticed this employee (petite, skinny guy with, I think, minimal facial hair) would give only a turn or two at most to reattach the tire caps. I thanked him for his service then pulled away to check the caps in a remote location so as not to embarrass him. All four caps were ready to come off with the next bump in the road. Been coming here since I moved to Encinitas 14 years ago. Fast, professional, great selection of tires and always helpful in deciding what to replace and when. So today I call in and let them know my SUV had a puncture. 285/45/R22 110H load. Tried fix a flat (hey, I was on The 8 and didn't want to deal with changing the tire with 6 boys in the car coming back from a camp out). FixAFlat didn't do squat so did the whole lower the tire from under the car change it thing. Figured I was going to end up with two new tires at least. Surprise! No need, Allen the tire pro tells me - all tires still had decent tread and the sidewall hadn't been crushed whole rolling off to the edge of the highway (it was a big nail or something, right through the tread...). Left the car for an hour and bam - reseated, rotated patched and ready to roll. Cost? FREE! Doesn't matter where you bought your tires. What a pleasant surprise and awesome policy to have! When I do need a new set of shoes for the SS Behemoth, probably in a year, they will get my $1000 purchase because of simple stuff like this. This chain have been my go-to outfit for 50 years, and this store for 20+ of them. Recently I got into a bad spot at a bad time-sidewall puncture (argh!) from a bloody flooring spike at 6:08 PM, after the store had closed! Luckily, I was very close to the store. As I am handicapped and a senior, and needed the car to drive some more miles that night to get home, I called anyway. Joseph answered the phone, I explained my situation, and he said "Come on in, we'll get you taken care of." I did so, and despite my car's tires are weird special order sizes, he managed to get me fixed up with a temporary solution until the right pair can be ordered and put on!
