Have to recognize the great service I just got from Kyle at Discount Tire on Michigan Road. They tried everything under the sun to keep my old tires roadworthy - at no charge, and even though I didn't buy them there! I wound up buying a new set of Michelins, the price was reasonable and I know that they will continue to take care of me when problems arise. Great job! Update: I put a lot of miles on those tires from two years ago, and went back for my next set. I was planning on buying the Michelins again, the rep pointed out another tire that was half the price with better longevity. I'm a customer for life. read more

I took my car in because I got a flat tire. They told me I needed to replace two of my tires (1.5 years old). One of them I was told had a hole that was too close to the rim to be repared. I waited a few days for my replacement tires to come in. Took the car back in on Saturday and got the new tires put in. I took the car home and on Sunday I woke up to another flat tire on the brand new one that they put on. When I took it back in on Monday they told me that the rim was damaged and could not be fixed. I basically bought a tire when my main issue was the wheel? Why would they not tell me that before making me buy new tires? Now I'm questioning whether I needed to replace that tire to begin with if the wheel was going to leak anyways. How could they miss that and then leave me with an expensive charge? I am now back at square one with a donut on my car after three trips and expensive charges. Not very happy. The one plus side is that they are very courteous. read more

Saturday - Called 1st to confirm they could have my new tires mounted to my bare wheels (already off vehicle and ready for drop off). Was assured that even thought they were busy, they could accommodate. Arrived 15 minutes later to drop them off. Was again told they would have them done same day. It was 1:40PM but they said they would be working late (to about 7) and would call me when done - that day! I called @ 6PM, no answer. I drove there, arriving @ 6:30. Closed, no signs of life. Called and left message. THEY DID NOT CALL ME. NOT OPEN SUNDAYS. Where are my wheels and tire? Beyond pissed at lack of communication. There are 10 other tire stores in the immediate area. At the time the gentleman made me feel like I was getting a great deal and he was doing me a favor, but after driving on the tires he put on my car, they aren't at all comparable to what I had before. The tread isn't great at they don't handle any type of weather well. Not even rain! It rained a lot the other day and I went to accelerate and my tires spun. I had a nail in my new tire and took it in to be plugged. It was a tire that had already been plugged once while on a road trip due to the same issue. I was told the previous plug was poor and not highway worthy. I was told I needed a new tire, and, of course I was told I should buy 2 new tires. They would give me a "credit" for the second (new) tire they would graciously remove (and re-sell, I'm sure). I felt like they were playing me because I was a woman. I had them put the spare on and took the car to Indy Tire on 86th street (where we originally bought the tires). They took a look and said no problem. Discount Tire has always helped me when I needed new tires. As a young female, I always worry that car places will take advantage of my lack of knowledge with cars, but that is never the case with Discount Tire. Today, the line was super long, but customer service still treats you with respect, and is patient as they try to give you the best service. I pulled up Friday evening with a warning light for my tires. I simply wanted air to make it til the next day. Brennan (I believe that was his name) was rude and told me "NO" I have purchased all my tires thru them and recommended others. One gentleman offered to do it but this rude whatever proceeded to tell him not too. The garage was still opened and men working. I simply wanted air. But what Discount Tire doesn't respect Tire Barn will. Never would I recommend this store to anyone. When I told him I would report him he laughed. read more

I saw no one had reviewed this place, and I personally hate empty business pages so here goes. I came here to get my tires rotated. I had called earlier to see if I needed an appointment, and they said no. When I arrived, I was informed it would take over an hour to rotate my tires. This is possibly my fault. Maybe I should have been more specific in my questioning. Regardless, I made an appointment for the next day and they had me in and out in 1 hour. DTC seems to keep a pretty tight leash on their franchises (or are they just additional locations?). The quality of service I've experienced at DTCs is ridiculously consistent. The staff is friendly, and they know what they are doing, tire-wise. Expect to spend about 1 hour, and be sure to call and make an appointment. They do have a lounge with free water and coffee. Bring a book, or a smartphone with games/email. read more

I have been a Discount Tire customer for almost 20 years. My experience at the Michigan Road location was by FAR the most disappointing customer service that I have ever experienced. My first appointment for a new set of tires at this location was on January 9th, 2021. After checking in and waiting approximately an hour, I was told that my wheel lock (which was perfectly fine prior to my visit) was warped and unable to be used to remove my wheels. Acting in good faith, I ordered a new wheel lock and returned with an appointment the following week. Once my car was brought into a bay an hour after my appointment time, and after another hour or so of waiting, I was informed that two of my wheel locks had to be "hammered off" (with no discussion prior) and that I could "safely drive" with 4 lugs on two of my wheels. At this point I no longer trusted my vehicle with the employees of this establishment so I didn't argue. I drove to the nearest parking lot away from Discount Tire and, using the OEM lugs that were in my glove box this entire time (if anyone bothered to look...), I replaced the now missing wheel locks myself and torqued these to spec when I got home. I fear for anyone that was unable to do this on their own, or that wouldn't know to take care of it in a timely fashion because the store employee basically shrugged this off as a cost of doing business at Discount Tire and acted as if it was completely safe and harmless long-term. read more

If I could give a zero to this particular Discount Tire I would. After many years of purchasing tires and warranties the service has continually gone down hill. Very poor response to issues. Dropped off a tire with a cut and was told they don't have the standard tire in stock. Had to order and still don't have the tire 6 days later. Who can go without a car/tire that long? When investing in a warranty one would expect quicker service. This is a standard tire for a standard car! Stop before you go to this store! Invest in another tire service/store! read more

I've been going to this location for years and always got great service. Ever since managers Joe and Mike left the great customer service has left as well. Normally whenever I had an issue with a purchase it was always resolved quickly. Now it's hard to even get a warranty honored that I purchased with the tires. I only had tires for about 10 months and one was completely bald and instead of trying to make it right he told me its the dealerships fault, my fault, and everything else he could come up with. Keep in mind my car was brand new and I purchased aftermarket wheels and tires. Finally someone else got involved and he resolved the problem right away. I've heard similar stories from my neighbors about this location but didn't want to believe it because I've been going there for years. Needless to say I love discount tire and will continue to do business with them but will not return to this location. Update**** after they put a donut tire on my car they lost the original lug nuts. I called once I realized they were missing and the manager told me no problem come up there and he would resolve. Unfortunately I got the same person that gave me a hard time before and he tried to say the lug nuts did not come from discount tire which they did. Got the manager involved and he apologized and gave me the lug nuts. I am so disgusted with the customer service at this location I will never ever return to this location. read more

I went to their location and was provided great service even though I had been told they had about a 2 or 3 hour wait time - I didn't mind and appreciated the work they did to get me back on the road. I was completely impressed. I had made an appointment the day before online. When I showed up, they were waiting for me to arrive- were super friendly and helpful. They said it'd take about an hour for four new tires. They called me an hour later and said my car was ready. When I got there, they explained the warranty, gave me my receipt and I was back out the door. I can't recommend them enough, one of my best car repair experiences ever. I got my tires here this time and I was happy with the price and everything like that but at first I was told that the tires that I needed were in stock at the syore and I would have a short wait. So OK I'll wait a little while. Well about 45 minutes later and my car has not moved I ask the guy at the counter What's up. Then he tells me that the tires were at a warehouse and they would be here in a little while. So I waited another 1 and a half hours before I was out of there with my new tires. No problem with product or installation but I wish would have known what was going on up front. I would be giving a better star rating if that had been the case. Given that I was walking in off the street and it was near the end of the day I wondered how long I would have to wait.
