I went into Discount Tire and they were asking me to fill out their survey after service. It almost felt like I was being threatened if I don't give them anything but excellent marks (9 or 10), because if you give them below that the employee has a conference with the supervisor. No, do not tell consumers how to rate you on your survey. Doing so makes your surveys meaningless. I did not and will not fill out your satisfaction survey in my email, I will delete it...or give the lowest scores so corporate has to show up. read more

ZERO STARS. Im officially done with this store. Last time i took my cadillac in, few years ago, they were extremely unprofessional out on the floor. As soon as i drove my car into the bay, someone came running up from behind and pounded on my window several times and was goofing off because he thought it was his buddy that pulled it in, not the customer. Iv been a mechanic my whole life and i would get chewed out for using air guns on lug nuts because they over torque them, hence, when they then go to torque them, they automatically click because their over tightened already! About a year later, i convinced my BF to get new tires for his truck here. Still to this day he has to put air in his tires every 2 weeks. Discount tire claims theres nothing wrong with them. This past week iv called several times and have been on hold over 30 min and had to hang up and call latter SEVERAL times, just to get the tires ordered and to verify all 4 came in. Then today i go get 4 brand new tires because this seems to be the only place i can get the Michelin runflats. I wasnt feeling well so i didn't watch them like a hawk like i normally do because i didn't feel like being a karen... now here i am, doing it anyways. Well, When they were done, the tires looked like shit. I don't care that they came from 3 different stores and have been sitting on a shelf. Its not hard to wipe them down so there isnt white and brown slime on them like they came from the junk yard. When i left i had to turn around and go back because none of the tires had the same psi and one was at nearly 60 psi. That is totally unacceptable! Its part of procedure to check that! For the hours i spent on hold, the recording kept saying "to maximize tire wear and gas mileage, check your tire pressure..." when i returned,no one came out, so i got out and tracked someone down and the guy just turned around to go get someone. Which pissed me off even more cuz all he had to do was apologize and adjust my tire pressure, not run away like a scared little coward!!! Only thing im happy with was the guy in the last bay saw i was mad and ran over to fix it. He was super nice, professional and deserves a promotion! Make him the manager cause whoever is still running this place isn't doing a good job! For me, this isn't a freak, isolated incident. Its multiple issues over several years which is why i won't be back. I wish i hadn't paid for a tire warrantee or maintenance fee because i won't be back. Ill have to rotate them myself or go to les schwab and have to pay extra. One last thing, they don't wash their hands or wear gloves to drive your car. There was filth all over the door handle, gear selector, steering wheel and keys. Where i come from, thats unacceptable. Pablo was very attentive and very informative. It was kind of busy when I arrived but he tended to my 3 year old and I and was very friendly. Pablo could've easily sold me what I went in looking for, which was new tires and I would've paid any price for them. I don't know anything about tires to be honest. Pablo showed me what other options were available for my truck and also showed me what I'd be paying for if I went with what I thought I needed. He gave me a really good discount with all warranties included and told me if I wasn't satisfied with the purchase I could bring the tires back in within 30 days to trade it for other tires. I highly recommend Discount Tire on Martin Way. I've been shopping there for years and never had an issue until this last visit. There was some confusion when I picked up my tires and the end result was a wasted few minutes (not a huge deal), but also a charge for extra warranties on the tires, which I had declined online. Rather than handle it rationally once I saw the receipt later that night, I vented in a survey - not my proudest moment. A few days later, the store employee who handled my transaction called me, apologized and refunded the money. That wasn't necessary and it definitely wasn't expected, but it was very much appreciated. It meant a lot to me and I have to give credit to him for doing that, and to the company for their culture. I'll handle it better next time, but this is a good example of why I shop there. read more

I bought my snow tires here, and each winter, I get them put back on for free. It was super easy to make an appointment online, and it only took about 30 minutes for them to replace the tires from start to finish. They are always nice to me and offer me bottled water or coffee while I wait. They wrap each tire in a big plastic bag, so my car won't get dirty transporting them back and forth. Before I purchased my snow tires, I compared prices at Les Schwab, Costco, and online, and it was a little more expensive than online, but cheaper than Les Schwab and Costco. Since they always change my tires out for free (and rotate and balance them), it ended up being cheaper to buy from them than online. read more

I was out shopping and running errands with my furry feline Fiona, and I noticed my tire light was on again. I had just put air in my tire the other day so I thought something was wrong and went to Discount Tire to get it checked out. Let me start by saying this place is so awesome! When I pulled up one of their employees immediately came over and greeted me with a smile. Everyone at Discount Tire was super friendly and polite. I was very impressed with the management and how clean the waiting area was. They even had free bottled water for their customers. After the employees inspected my vehicle they rolled my tire into the waiting area and showed me how it was in really bad shape. I needed to get two tires right away. Not only did they service my car right away I got a wonderful deal on a pair of tires! Oh and did I mention I didn't even have an appointment. This particular Discount Tires location has taken care of me countless times over the years. I build vehicles in my spare time, so I'm always mounting, dismounting, balancing, fixing flat tires, etc. I've had nothing but excellent and friendly service from the crew here, not to mention other Discount Tire locations I've used while traveling. Occasionally I will come in with a relatively minor issue, and these guys will make the time to help me out and sometimes even do the work for no charge. Their service will keep me coming back for years to come. 01/2019 I use Discount Tire often and always purchase my tires from them. I keep coming back thinking..at some point there's got to be an employee having a bad or off day, something will be amiss, I'm bound to have a not so great experience to counter all the good ones, etc. But after what seems to be 50 + visits over the years, it's nothing but consistent excellent customer service regardless of the reason for my visit. I got great service here the other day; they put new tires on my rig in less than 15 minutes. The prices are reasonable and include lifetime rotating, balancing, and patching. This would be a five star rating, however, there is a $14 per tire charge for installation and balancing. I have no problem with that, but the fee was not disclosed until the work was already done and the sales guy was ringing me up. I didn't ask ahead of time whether installation was included free, and maybe the sales guy thought I didn't care, given that I was in a hurry. But I hate non-disclosure of additional fees and charges. It just reeks of shenanigans. read more

Got set of tires on a Tuesday, friendly service, transparent business. Noticed a slight wobbling at 60 mph, so I thought it may be the new tires. Came back in that Saturday morning. They recognized me from earlier in the week - wow - and thought it could be a tire out of balance. An hour later they re-balanced two tires and sent me back on my way. I was going to give these guys 5 stars but after they left the hood of my SUV open that changed my mind. (Drove 15 minutes on the freeway all the way home then that's when I realized it!) Sad thing about it all... I bought them 2 dozen (28 donuts total out of the kindness of my heart) AND even told John the reason I did it was because they have always treated me good, but unfortunately the small error with my hood not being shut cost them a perfect 5 star rating! Meh (oh... Not to mention that only John thanked me for the donuts... Not one other employee came to even say "thank you!") No more donuts for these guys unless I decide to drift in their parking lot (I'm joking about the drifting but I'm not joking about the heavenly donuts!!!) I previously gave a review of 5 stars but had to change it due to the employees leaving my hood open! My son also works in the automotive business and so I know what should be expected. To me it was careless since there were at least 3 guys I watched through their window from inside the store that were working on my suburban. Should've been double and triple checked. I have high standards when it comes to ensuring vehicle safety. Thankfully hoods of suburbans are heavy and it didn't fly up and block my view while I was driving on the freeway. I absolutely adore all the workers at this location, they're all so friendly and sweet even though they have the heaviest work load. I come in every so often for tire problems or to get mine switched out and even when I'm confused and don't really know what's going on they're so patient and understanding! They always help me with all of my questions as well. I really don't mind the longish waits either, an appointment would definitely be the faster option but they're pretty good with staying to the estimated time that they give you! Today I had a mid-morning appointment for tire rotation. After checking in, I was told to wait in my car. For an hour I waited. No contact from anyone. Eventually, I gave up. I don't write many reviews because I understand stuff happens sometimes. Someone calls in sick, etc. But everything seemed to be working like it was supposed to. Every service bay was full and employees were working in every bay. I'm left to believe that this is how it is supposed to work at Discount Tire. They over-schedule appointments and if everyone shows up, you wait and wait and wait. In the future I'll be buying my tires somewhere where they do what they say they will. read more

On 11Feb2020, I noticed a nail embedded on top of my tire within the tread. I immediately took it to the nearest Firestone which is on the installation I work. I am an active duty US Army Soldier, female Captain located at Joint Base Lewis Mcchord, Washington State. The woman I spoke with informed me I'd have to leave my vehicle and they would call me when the tire was repaired. 5 hours later, I received a phone call from the same woman informing me that because I had 2 nails 15 inches apart on top of the tread I would be required to change out all 4 of my fairly new tires costing me $867.00. I informed her no, and I would get a second opinion. I then took my business over to Discount Tires around 4pm and drove 25 minutes on that tire across I-5 which is also known as one of the busiest highways in the state. Upon looking at the tire in my presence, the Discount Tires sales rep inspected the nails and noticed one of them wasn't even piercing the tread, it was just stuck between the rubber, meaning I only actually had one nail pierced in the tread. He showed me by spraying a substance on both nails and only one nail began to bubble indicating air had been leaking at that one location. The sales rep offered to repair the tire for free and asked if I could leave the vehicle overnight to get to it in the morning since he had 10 customers ahead of me and the earliest he could take care of it was the morning since it was nearing the end of the day. Since that was my only mode of transportation I said I would just bring it first thing in the morning. I then departed, got back onto the I-5 highway and within about 3 miles, the nail popped out and my tire deflated immediately. I then had to pull off the side of this extremely busy and dangerous highway while the sun was setting and getting dark to change out my deflated tire with my spare. I am very lucky nothing more serious or life threatening occurred during this time. I am very angry by this situation because I feel Firestone put me in a dangerous position that was totally preventable and avoidable if they had done a better job inspecting the tire realizing only one nail was embedded in the tread. Even if there were 2 like they had originally stated, it was still repairable. I find it very concerning Firestone is more interested in my money rather than my welfare and safety, and especially find it extremely upsetting this is how Firestone treats Soldiers. The impression I got from Firestone is they think because I am a female I probably do not know any better and because I am a Captain they assume I definitely have thie money, and just have the audacity to ask me to pay $867.00 on tires I have warranty on. The next morning after my near death experience, I went back to discount tires and had to explain to Sales Rep Race what had happened to me. He agreed to inspect my original tire and see if they could still repair it; but I was also prepared to pay for 4 brand new tires since my original tire went completely flat to the rim. Discount Tires were able to completely salvage my original "Firestone" labeled tire and repaired it in front of me. At this point I believed I would be charged, but discount tires told me it was completely free and sent me on my way. Due to this experience I will never return to Firestone and will be sharing my experience with other Soldiers on post to ensure they understand the risk associated doing business with Firestone and instead will be referring them to Discount Tires for their phenomenal work ethic. read more

I stopped by Discount Tire with a large trailer tire (brand new) that had snagged a roofing nail on its maiden voyage. I was not a customer of discount tire, but knew they serviced and carried the brand of tires ($250/each) that came on my trailer. They patched the tire for free (aka NO COST) on a busy Friday and had me out the door in record time. That's service! They also put the correct amount of air in the tire (65 psi), which is a first for a tire shop. Most don't seem to understand that load range D and E tires take about twice the air pressure that car tires do. read more

I'd just bought a used car and went in to replace the two worst tires. I came out with 4 new tires and a real appreciation for Josh and crew who took excellent care of me. They managed to get it all done at a price I could almost afford. In the process they discovered 3 broken off studs (The bit that your lug nuts screw into) on my wheels. Josh called Josh at Firestone and got a quote to get the job done. Great service, and great prices are too rare these days, but these guys did all that and then worked with a competing business to make sure I was safe on the road. I recently purchased 2 - 215/50-17 for the front and 2 - 255/45-17 for the rear. Well they got it right on the drivers side but on the passengers side they put the 255 in front and the 215 on the back. I didn't notice this until I got home and was wiping the soap off the tires. Good thing I didn't drive too far like this. Not a huge mistake but I had to change them around with only 1 scissor type jack and no jack stands to help. Like they say "spit happens". read more

Two words: Super impressive. I had a tire blow out on the freeway and took the first exit...lo and behold, Discount Tire was at the first light I could turn off into. I didn't care the cost or time to get the job done as I was in my business suit clothing and had phone appointments I desperately had to take. Bottom line, these guys were awesome! Time frame was apologetically given to me as 2.5 hours before they could get my tire swapped out and a spare put on my Jeep. Again, I didn't care because I had business calls to be on. However, I did try to bribe the guy with cash to get me up next and he legit turned me down. He explained he gets asked a lot but it's not fair to the people in front of me. The ethics and integrity he demonstrated were amazing and my respect and repeat business will continue...even though I live 40 miles away. Seriously, this was an awesome experience. Even better news...they finished in an hour because of the efficiency of their crew. The guy who shook my hand at the end even apologized it took so long. This is where to go for tires! I am always looking for a deal. I used to always spend time looking for a good tire, with a good warranty, for a good price. Now I don't bother shopping around. This is a wheels and tires store. They have 6 terminals set up and have been ready for business every time I have visited. They can't help if they are busy with 5 to 6 salesmen and every bay with a vehicle. What more could a tire shop do. I love that they're national and have tons of shops. They have a Good, Better, Best inventory of tires to fit any need or budget. I recommend this shop to my family and friends and we have never been disappointed. read more

I purchased tires from Discount Tire in Lacey in 2013, I would make and appointment and go in every six months or so for tire rotation. I had an 11:30 appointment on Saturday March 7, 2015 for the same. Arrived on time, just my granddaughter and I and the pushiest most overbearing salesman I have ever met signed us in, he came out and looked at the tires and told me they couldn't be rotated because they were too worn. He kept telling me what "great deals" they currently had on new wheels and tires. I told him I was only interested in having my current tires rotated. He persisted to try and SELL, SELL, SELL, but I knew I didn't need new tires. I started to leave and he said " what can I do to get you to stay and give us your business" to which I replied "rotate my tires!" He said he couldn't do that. So I drove to Les Schwab in downtown Olympia where they happily rotated my tires and said I had PLENTY of tread left. I closed my Discount Tire account today and Les Schwab now has a new customer for life. I don't know if the Discount Tire salesman had a quota to meet or if he just saw a woman and child and thought I could be duped into buying new tires but it didn't work and not only have I YELPED what happened to me I also posted to my 246 Facebook friends. My advice: don't set foot in this store. They lie and do what ever they can to sell you what you don't need. read more

Their customer service is pretty good and I know they will take care of my tires since I paid $10 per tire for a warranty. But I think Costco and Les Schwab do that for free. Was left waiting an hour and a half when I thought I was just getting air in my tire.
