Well this was a great experience until it sucked. The guy who was helping me was very nice and helped me get the right tires and such. Unfortunately the mechanics who mounted my tires and messed with my wheels scratched the bloody hell out of the them with a full sized 22mm socket instead of a thin walled. Essentially them jammed their tool in and spun it about where it didn't fit. When I asked the guy later that day, he said they would pay for it to be fixed. Then later he said before he even brought up the issue, the mechanics said something like "Oh the car that we used the thin walled sockets on?" Wow that's not suspicious at all you covering your ass before told what the conversation was even about. That's like a dad calling their son and them saying "I DIDNT DO IT I SWEAR" and they were just being called for dinner. For context, I'm a huge car guy I know every single inch of the car. I actually by coincidence spent 8 hours just the day before washing, claybaring, polishing, and waxing the car. I literally went over every inch of paint and material 4 times. The scratches around EVERY lugnut on the wheels were not there right before and they certainly were right after. This is the only reason I don't give them the benefit of the doubt. And so the guy who I worked with essentially, in a very nice way, told me that's that and to go f!ck myself. I was speechless he didn't see what a flat out lie was, or he did and just copped out on it. I'll never be coming back to this particular branch. read more

Had a slow leak in my front driver tire on my 2020 GMC Sierra 3500. The technician found that the factory valve stem was malfunctioning but they didn't have the right part due to the TPMS sensors. The tech and Manager worked on it for over an hour to get it seated right to their satisfaction with no leak. Once repaired and re-mounted, they graciously sent me on my way, gratis! Bravo gents! I wanted to update my review because after a year and some change the quality in service has not diminished. This time we dealt with Gustavo, who right at opening came out of the office walked right up to us (didn't wait for us to seek out someone) and started assisting us. He was very polite and knowledgeable and really helped us out. Now the reason we went was because over the weekend we got into a car accident and thankfully it was just one tire that got hurt, so we needed to replace it, with our warranty labor and all the other jazz, all we paid was $17.60 for the insurance on the new tire. We have been using this place since 1992. There are tons of other tire places in Oceanside and even within a few blocks. This is the best. They are always super knowledgeable and expert at any tire or wheel issue. 100% they offer the best prices and often don't even charge for things! There are many locations of this chain which is great for a lot of reasons- in terms of purchasing etc. However this particular one is perfect. We had just hd our vehicle at the dealership and had a lot of tire and wheel servicing done there. But there wasn't the best communication between me and the actual mechanic as that is the way usually at dealerships.... So when we saw the vehicle we thought some changes to the tire configuration would be better. Alex at Discount Tire understood and explained carefully what should be done and how. They completed the work super fast and it hardly cost anything even though they switched out two wheels and had to mount and balance one. Especially awesome is Alex. After having a great customer service experience with Chase yesterday 10/26/19 i realized one of their tire specialists broke my shifter when pulling my car in and out of the garage. When calling to talk about it Chase told me to come in as soon as possible. When i came in this morning i had to deal with the rudest sexiest ass ive ever dealt with. Forrest came and looked at my shifter and instead of actually listening to how my shifter works, he looked at it, said he isn't certified but will see if his mechanic is in. Upon returning he came back and have me some flyer for a local mechanic to have him look at it because " it should be a simple push down" and "its not my employees faults because it is an after market shifter" also because I'm not "certified" to instal anything on my car so I did it wrong. When speaking to his mechanic that confirmed that a guy at the tire shop must have assumed my shifter was manual and shoved it so hard they had to force it back to into its spot, and that there was no way I did it myself. I will make sure to let the locals in the car scene, and the ladies know if we arent "certified" that even if the tire mechanics "who are certified to drive cars that dont have after market shifter" break your stuff it's the car owners fault not the employees. read more

I came to get a tire fixed after my TPMS notified me that my tire had a nail in it. I visited this location twice and was helped by the same employee and he was fantastic ( I'm so sad I can't remember his name). He also supported me in identifying potential tire replacements as my tire wear was deteriorating. After leaving Discount Tire and researching the discussed options I called back and requested my tires to be ordered. I spoke with an employee and he assured me he could get the tires ordered (I called on Friday) and they would reach out to schedule when my tires were delivered. I ended up calling back on a Tuesday to get an appointment but the tires were never ordered (Boo). Frustrated but in need of tires, I ended up calling another location to get my tires fixed. Despite this experience I still highly recommend Discount Tires. Great experience most times. read more
