I've shopped at Discount Tire for nearly 20 years at a variety of their locations, and am very pleased with this one. Miguel has always done outstanding work to replace the tires on my Corvette, a car which is notoriously tricky to install tires on. He is careful and very thorough which I greatly appreciate. Service from the office guys has always been excellent, too. My tires are always special order but that's never been a problem at any point, even when I have to do it over the phone with them. I recently noticed I had a screw in my tire. I went to two shops near me and both said the tire was ruined and I needed a new tire, that it couldn't be repaired because it was in the tread close to the shoulder. But they both wanted to sell me a tire that wasn't the exact same as the one I had, so I went online to figure out where I could get a matching tire. The only place close was discount tire, and I drove over. I came in saying I thought I needed a new tire. Alan, the employee who helped me was a total rockstar. He took a look and came back with some pliers and soapy water. After a quick look he yanked the screw out, it had not even gone through the rubber. When I asked how much, he replied that this was free and to just come back next time. That wasn't enough, so Alan take this review to your boss! You got a customer for life! read more

I had an appointment at your Terrell store for a tire rotation not only was this my 1st time at this location but was also my last. I was standing in line watching 2 employees talk them one (turns out to be the manager looked up at the line I took that as he was ready for the next customer) I walked up to the count was told to give him a sec. No worries I stood there waiting he called another customer on the phone again no problems thats good customer service. But then left with me standing there. He went out to the shop for a few then back in with a customer again not a problem. Once he was done with that customer he came back to the counter and told me that I should get back in line so that I do not get skipped only after watching another customer behind me getting checked in and no other employees at the counter. At that point I had had enough I left on the way out I asked another employee for the manager as I wanted him to know why they had lost a customer only to find out he was the manager. He did call my cell number trying to apologize but by that point I had already left and was not going back. This was the only day that I had as the rest of my week was busy and getting ready to go out of town. The sad part is this is the closest store is close to my home but will not be back to the location. I have been to a few different locations with many different cars and have never been treated like this sure I have waited for longer time but the employees have always been friendly and let you know what is going on and not just standing at the counter. read more

Four years ago I bought 4 brand new tires with 65K warranty. I had them rotated and balanced regularly because those services came with the purchase. Around 40K miles later I was told one tire doesn't meet the safety requirement so need to be replaced. I asked all 4 tires to be replaced thinking the old ones should still under warranty and I should get some credit. I was wrong: they offered credit for only 2 tires. The other 2 were considered out of warranty. WHY??? When all tires were rotated and balanced regularly then why the credit for only 2 tires? read more

I waited in the tire pressure line forever today (side note: waiting in line is very much the norm for DT, but I don't mind because of their consistently amazing service), when I finally got to the front of the line I was met with an apology and thanks. It wasn't thrown off like he'd said it a ton of times already (although he had), it was said with a genuine smile and appreciation for the customer. Billy didn't act rushed or frazzled, though he worked swiftly. While a few of my tires were filling, he educated me on what my pressure should be and what the outside temp typically makes the tires fluctuate between. He was observant and made conversation beyond typical small talk. DT has CONSTANTLY been great about engaging with the customer in a way that makes me feel appreciated and valued! read more

Received a call yesterday about my Prielli tires told to ask for Eddie at 8:30 12/29 and they would price match my ad Get here today at 8:15 am Eddie's busy greeted by Omar who says the tires aren't here. Specifically asked for run flats when talking with Eddie told the 206.00 tire they would price match for 176.00 was a run flat. now Omar says Prielli not as good anyway and he can sell me a bridge stone for 190. Which he will add install fee, disposal fee and now my bill is 897.00 out the door versus 176 plus tax on the tires they got me in the door for I will never forget or come here again. My wife took her car to have the rear passenger tire repaired because of a nail. The nail was not on the side but in the tread. The service person told her it had to be replaced because the nail was close to the side. She replaced it. This shop is dishonest because that tire could have been patched with no problem. Had a warranty issue I TALKED TO THE TIRE MANUFACTURER and was told to have Discount order 2 new tires at no charge. Warrantied. Was told if Discount Tire needs confirmation to give them his number and ext. IT WAS APPROVED. The salesman calls the manufacturer and screwed up this approval. Why!!?? ((It was already approved!!)) Explained that I was busy, had tomorrow off and that if he could confirm this was possible, then I'd stop what I was doing and be there in 20 min. I stood in the shorter "appointment line" and explained to the manager our conversation who told me that this doesn't count as an appointment. What a waste of my time. It's amazing how places hope and pray for customers with all the competition...with that said how do you walk in to a store 2 customers sitting that's have been helped no other customers inside and 5 employees on the floor and NOT one of them greets you. Not a hello, not a be right with you, nothing for the span of 7/10 min and then you finally have to ask for help. On top of that I have never heard employees bitch about ALL the customers that were waiting outside the door this am prior to opening. I needed a repair for a flat tire. I was hoping to get a patch on a flat tire I had due to a screw punched in it. I felt the tire was recoverable, but when speaking to a rep here they said it was not and pushed to purchase new tires. I understand that these businesses are looking to make the sale, but it feels disingenuous to just push product rather than what the customer wants. Or at the very least if I'm wrong to assume it's repairable, work with something near what I'm asking for. It wasn't an expense I planned to have right now and I made clear I just wanted to clear this up. So the rep then proceeded to offer me wheels on top of the tires. Again, didn't feel good to say "I don't want to spend too much right now" and then be presented with options that'd be upwards of $1000. Most people already know that when they go to auto maintenance businesses like this they'll be up sold, and my experience fit the norm. Not only that, when I was first offered my price on tires the rep gave me a full price that would cost almost $700 for a set. When I said it was too much for me, then he happened to think of discounts that may be available and found one that would take over $100 off. I found it ironic that "Discount" Tire didn't even try to find a discount first. That was very disappointing to see and was like I had caught them trying to get me to spend more. Overall, speed of service was great and the quality of work was excellent. Even on a busy day they handled my service quickly. So they get credit for that. However had I not had to order and wait on tires from Costco, I would have definitely gone there. By comparison, for the same tires, Costco would have been $200 less and include all the same routine maintenance perks. I do not recommend Discount Tire unless you're in an absolute emergency. Walmart, Sam's Club or Costco are better options. Their employees should be more aware and always offer the discounts available as one would assume when they go to "Discount" Tire. I understand they're salespeople, but listen and respect the wishes of the customer or work as closely in line with their requests. Employees have the advantage of feeling they know more about vehicle maintenance, and I respect that they do. But that doesn't mean as a customer I can be charged more than necessary. This business is no different than the experiences I've had at other businesses like NTB, which have never been pleasant. read more

I usually love Discount Tire but I've had some issues with this location recently. My husband brought his cord explorer there about a month ago for new tires. After everything was completed a few days later he drove 3 hours to take his son home and during the trip started hearing a noise coming from the tire. Pulled over to find a few lug nuts were loose on more than one of his tires. Then today I went to take my car there to only get some air in my tires. They were too busy so had the station closed which is fine. But the guy who was helping me and another customer who was also there for air was so rude to us. I explained to him the problem I was having at the gas station air pump and he pretty much didn't care. I don't know if he was having a bad day but the customer service was really lacking today. read more

My family and I have been loyal customers of this discount tire location for nearly 20 years. It's nice to walk into a place of business and see familiar faces each time I come in. I have had three different cars of my own serviced through out the years, and they have always tried their best to educate their customers on tire maintenance. They always try to find the most affordable tires on the market and don't charge as much in labor as other auto shops would and they give a pretty accurate time frame of when they will be done with servicing the vehicle. It helps to plan your visit in advance. On a busy day like Saturday, don't bring your car in at 4pm and expect it to be taken care of immediately. I try to make it early at the time they open because even then there is usually a line of people waiting. It's usually first come, first serve, even if you make an appointment on their website. Also, they do free tire rotations and air checks in between services. read more

I was big fan of discount tire, but my last visit was horrible. I come to the shop in Plano(Ohio and 121)just to make Tire rotation, but they refuse to make it and said that my front tires absolutely bold(I used them only 20000 miles) and they can me sold new ones. But in that day I was in official dealership of my car and they inspect my car and gave me paper that everything is fine and I don't need new tires. The employee was filling in from another store but was overly nice and knowledgeable. My vehicle was done closer to 35/40 mins too.
