I'd love to give them 5 stars and, I almost did except, " tino" just made it hard too. Here is what happened; I got a tire from them it is Saturday evening at 500 pm, I just left and I had one question for Michael; he was super helpful and very courteous. I was in my car ready to go and I came back but I didn't see him, tíno was there and this is where it all went wrong, I asked him for Michael he was not friendly, had an attitude right from the start, "yes, can I help you" never smiled, I said I'm looking for Michael, " we are closed" I don't know where he is what you need" ? I have a question for him" what you neeeed? We are closed! "I'm an assistant manager " I said, yes I know you are closed, I don't know where he is, he might have left" all of this with an attitude... seriously???? I said, I'm sorry you are so rude, he didn't apologize or anything he just turned and walked away!!!! Are you kidding me?? Just as that happened I saw Michael coming out of the office., I walked to the door and walked in, the floor was wet as they just had mopped, he was again very very nice, didn't rush me or said " we are closed" I asked my question and then I told him what had happened with tino, he said I'm so sorry, this isn't who we are, I said I know! Everyone was so nice except tino, I'm shocked he is an assistant manager!! I know he wanted to go home and who knows what he is dealing with but, it wasn't necessary or acceptable that he had this rude exchange with me, he couldn't care less... I mean he wasn't going to go look for him, I was a nuisance to him and he had better things to do than to go look for Michael, this was and should had been his stance but, he didn't care to even try!!!! His excuse was, we are closed, I'm not doing anything to help you even though I just spent money and purchased a tire from them. I just think he needs to think twice before he treats a customer with such a Poor attitude. Quite simple and this kind of behavior ruins one's experience. I will still give this place my business because one employee isn't going to ruin it for this business. My hope is that he gets an attitude adjustment, maybe he is just not cut out to be in front or clients. Sad and very uncomfortable and unnecessary behavior that can't go unchecked. read more

Had a great experience at Discount Tire in Rowlett. I stopped in to see if they would remove my plastic hubcaps because I wanted to see if they were the source of weird noises I was hearing. The sales person assured me it was likely the cause and there was also a potential of a bent wheel. I was ready planning to replace the wheels in the near future so when he suggested that solution, I went with it. I felt like I got a great deal and they got my. At in and out quickly. Would not recommend this location. The last 2 times I went, they told me my tire was fine and was safe to drive on and the very next day it blew off into traffic and I ended up with a cracked rim ($$$). I could've died. Also, I took my car in for the free air pressure check because I recently bought a new car and RICHARD with the mustache, saw me waiting there, looked at me and shook his head as to say "we're busy".. I waited there for a couple more minutes before I honked my horn for someone to do their job because I have other things to do in my day as well and here comes Richard stomping over. So the manager at this location is rude..I purchased some tires less than a year ago and paid for hazard insurance on them and I happen to pick 2 nails in tire and he tried to assume it was done maliciously very rude and not professional I've spent thousands of dollars on tires from DTC...I will never do business with them again and will tell all friends and family the same! read more

I had a tire that kept going flat after Firestone supposedly repaired it so I rolled in to Discount Tire on my lunch hour and they put air in it for me and made me an appointment for lunch time the next day. They had me fixed up in time to get back to work and when I went to pay they did not charge me. The men who helped me were friendly and seemed happy to help me. The 2 hours wait in Rockwall was only a 20 minute wait here in Rowlett!!! I'll probably come back here when I need new tires. Staff is great. They open doors, make a point to greet you. Make eye contact. "Yes ma'am", "Yes sir..." Their attire is well kept, considering the job they do. They keep you posted as they service your vehicle. The place is clean. Chairs are cushy. Bathroom was even clean. I had a lengthy wait there Mon. morning, as they were short-staffed. But they were upfront & apologetic about it, which goes a long way with me. So I wasn't frustrated in the slightest. Bonus: tire repair (screw in tire) was free. This location lacks in service and professionalism. Went in on Saturday to have a leaking tire looked at. Made clear it was on the right side-just didn't know which one. Sat for an hour, just to have the tech tell me that it was a temp change issue as to why the low pressure light went on. I questioned it because the temperature drop was not big and had recently added air to all tires. Assured me the light would go off. It did, until the following day- Sunday. Rear tire was at 14 psi. Took the tire off. Found a nail within a minute. Made me mad, since Discount Tire is closed on Sunday. Had to patch it myself, since I would not have time all week to waste yet another hour + to do what should've been done on Saturday. The warranty that I purchased with the tire seems useless if I have to make the repair myself. Yeah, should've gone to the one I usually go to in garland. And thanks for wasting my time read more

Had an appointment for 8/29 to get tires replaced on my wife's vehicle. It took over an hour and fifteen minutes even though I had an appointment, which was unacceptable. To top it off, a phone charger was missing from the vehicle as well. I called the Store Manager, Eddie, and he stammered through his speech of apologizing for a delay of the installation. I brought up the stolen item and his tone changed and he accused us of misplacing it or lying. Did not say he would look into it, just immediately denied liability, which makes me think that I'm not the first consumer with a stolen item complaint. I will be filing a police report with the Rowlett Police Department. I have been using Discount Tire for over ten years and I have never been disrespected in such a manner as Eddie has done. Why Can't Every Business Be This Great? It was that dreaded time again: the need to purchase 4 new tires. I had previously purchased tires over the years locally from Firestone, Goodyear and most recently, NTB. My experience with Firestone in Rowlett and Goodyear in Rockwall were fine. My experience with NTB at any location was the poorest. They never seem to have 4 of anything I need and no matter what location you go to, they won't send an employee to get one tire from another location for you...they just tell you which location has all 4. And they are notorious for telling you your struts need replacing. That's what they all read off the teleprompter. Must be a requirement for keeping a job they all seem to hate. Fortunately, Discount Tire finally opened a shop on Lakeview Parkway (Hwy 66) in Rowlett. Because of their very cordial customer service and the fact that they actually have a lot of employees there to get the work done in a reasonable time frame, I have already bought two sets of tires for two vehicles there, had them rotated (they send you an alert reminder) and one tire repaired from an embedded screw. The staff (not always the same guys) have been as wonderful as Chick-fil-A employees. And, they are really quick. As a woman, it's nice to go into a tire shop without my husband and not be treated like an idiot and up sold something I didn't need. The shop is spacious, the waiting room is comfortable and I have never been dissatisfied with the service here. If they continue to operate this way, they'll have a customer for life. It's so refreshing to experience customer service...I almost passed out, it had been so long since I experienced that! read more

Purchased tires from discount, went in to get tires balance since I purchased that plan when I got the tires. Chris at discount rowlett went out to check my tires and told me he could not balance the rear tires and recommend I purchase new tires, my problem is that I watched him check the tread depth multiple times on the rear tire. I know the depth was fine and my problem is that you refuse to proform a service that I paid for. So they balanced the front and it shakes more than it did before the balance. read more

I had a slow leak in the rear, wait for it.... passenger tire and they took care of it for free! They didn't push or try to sell me anything I didn't want. Which is refreshingly uncommon these days, especially from a car shop. The assistant manager Trent was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions without hesitation. Hew knew his stuff! I have to be honest, I'm very picky and hesitate where I take my cars to, but now that I know they'll take car of me here, I'll be returning and gladly give them more of my business. Highly recommend this Discount Tire location! They really do go above and beyond to get you in and out as soon as they can when it comes to emergency situations. There's nothing worse than trying to leave for work in the morning and realizing your run-flat tire is completely flat. Since my Mercedes has run-flat tires, that means no spare tire comes with your car. Luckily, you're able to drive at a slow speed up to a certain amount of miles with run-flats so I was able to get to Discount Tire safely. Since the tire tread was pretty much worn, they obviously couldn't patch it. I did have to order the tire since they didn't have my specific tire in stock, but they put on a complimentary spare tire to at least get me to work safely until my tire came in. They were able to get it in the same day. With my work hours, I wasn't able to get there until close to closing time to get my new tire installed, but they even stayed after closing just to accommodate me! Scheduled appointment to have them put on at 8 am, they said it would completed by ~8:45 and job was completed in a very timely manner as promised. I have done business with Discount Tire for 10-15 years and never really had an issue with their product or services. Unfortunately, this review is in regards to poor service and questionable sales tactics. Spoke to Clint, Rowlett location, about price matching a competitor, and they were able to match the competing price but the final price were still off around $100.00, with the additional of out fees and products. Told Clint thank you, that we would not be moving forward with the purchase, proceeded to shake his hand and leave. I'm guessing he's the manager as he continued the sales pitch by stating "would you rather do business with professionals or someone that sells apples and oranges". Clint choose to go on the offensive by belittling the competing company and not by showing the benefits of Discount Tire. I told him it was probably not in his best interest to use this form of sales pitch to another person because it could call into question your own sales ability and he apologized and said "it was a wrongly times joke". Sadly, this poorly timed joke and bad sales strategy backfired. If you cannot sell your business to someone without demeaning another, you probably need to review some sales training or find some new approaches to better highlight the quality of service your business can provide.
