Keep a close eye on whatever you have done here. There must be some financial incentive for those technicians to push those cars out as fast as they can. It turns out the bolts holding the center caps were all a different size not just the one that the technician put on that left the cap rattling all the way home. It also turns out when they came to take care of it all they did was tighten the living you know what out of the oversized bolt. I'm real lucky that he didn't strip the threads in the wheel by forcing that bolt in there. I'm also lucky that I found out within a month or two of them doing all of this. I took the caps off before I took the car to the mechanic to have the tires rotated. That's when I found the different sizes of bolts and the oversized one that was so tight I could barely get it off. I took the oversized bolts in to show it to them and they acted lIke nothing out of the ordinary. They ordered bolts from the manufacturer that were the right length, but they have a big head on them that sticks out of the center cap. But I'm leaving well enough alone, too aggravating to go back to the same place more than three times to get something done right that should've been right the first time. I guess the technicians are paid by the car because they're pushing those things out as fast as they can and they don't seem to take much care. We all know how hard it is to get businesses to make things right I'm just lucky they didn't strip the threads in those wheels. If you buy wheels from this place, don't get any that have a removable cap that covers the lug nuts. And check everything they do. read more

This is not the first time I've had a negative experience at your store, but it is certainly the most frustrating. Despite clearly communicating my concerns and the specific service I needed--a simple patch job--I was met with dismissive behavior and aggressive upselling tactics. The associate completely disregarded my request and immediately pushed for the purchase of four new tires. I was told, as I have been before, that "we can't replace it," or "if we remove it and it's damaged, we have to put on a new tire." These lines have become all too familiar. While I was being pressured, I noticed at least ten other women in the waiting area, many of whom appeared to be receiving the same scripted warnings: "If you don't replace these tires, you'll likely have a blowout on the highway," and the infamous, "For safety reasons, we can't let you leave with these tires." These fear-based tactics are not only unethical but also deeply concerning when they appear to target women who come in alone. The associate also claimed my tires were over five years old and needed replacement. That's odd, considering I've owned the car for five years and it came with brand-new tires. This kind of misinformation only reinforces the perception that your stores are more interested in making a sale than providing honest service. I've spoken with friends and coworkers who have had nearly identical experiences--some personally, others through their daughters or daughters-in-law. This pattern is unacceptable and reflects poorly on your brand. I urge you to take a hard look at how the managers are training their teams. The current approach not only alienates customers but also damages your reputation. I am furious about the way I've been treated and am seriously considering taking my business elsewhere, including to dealerships that, frankly, have shown more integrity. In the end, I became so fed up that I left the store. To my disbelief, both the manager and the associate ran after me into the parking lot, as if they couldn't afford to lose another sale. My daughter let me know that she had a nail in her tire, but it was not losing air. In an abondance of caution I told her we needed to get the car to the tire shop ASAP. We picked a place that was closest to her location. We spoke to the customer service rep about the issue and then headed to the car to get more details size, the amount of wear ect. He let us know that if the tire could be patched, they would do that free of charge. I let them know if they could not patch the tire then please put the spare on for us. We went to breakfast and was told it would be about an hour and a half. During breakfast they called and let us know that the tire (which was not losing air) could not be patched. We were told that the tire was patched once before and whoever did it messed it up. We were told that the tire belt was broken and rusted, and that it was a danger to put the tire back on the car. I then asked that the spare be placed on the car, and we would get a new tire where they originally purchased those tires so we could get a matching replacement. They then said that the spare was far to old and that they would not put it on the car because again, it was a danger. I asked the customer service rep what were my options. He took this to mean, I could not afford a new tire, and I might need something to fit my budget. I asked do you have an exact match to the tires already on the car in stock. He said no. He said they could get close to the type of tire I had, and that new tire would be about 250, but he could find an 80-dollar tire for replacement if I needed. I asked more about the 250-dollar tire. I asked the brand, the type, the tread life and he did not want to discuss that with me. It was all about the price and how he could fit it into my budget. He wanted to know what I wanted to do and I could have the car towed or I could buy a tire. We finally agreed to the 80-dollar tire and insisted that they put the damaged tire in the trunk. Later that afternoon we visit Costco to get the matching replacement. The service rep looked the tire over and then asked " what exactly did they tell you at Discount tire. This is when I was told that everything, I was told was not true and that the nail had not punctured the interior of the tire. It was not in the side wall of the tire was fine. We mentioned the rusted belts and was told they did not see any of those issues. Long story short we will be buying our next set of tires from Costco. I do not like how we were treated, how my questions about the new tire were not answered and how dismissive the customer service rep spoke to me and my daughter. read more

Waited an hour and a half for a flat tire. I got a nail in a brand new tire I bought from them a week ago and I have a warranty. Go in there and This skinny twink spends 5 minutes trying to sell me new front tires instead of just patching my tire then makes me sit and wait while he "checks to see if it can be patched" for 30 minutes which he spent half of flirting with a customer. Still sitting here waiting it's been an hour and 45 minutes since I walked in here all I need is a patched tire and I can put it back on myself I'm only here because I have a warranty at this point I'd rather then hand me 10 bucks and go patch it myself. Recently, I came into this location as our family member had an issue with her tire being low as we caught up/exchanged gifts for the holidays. My review is based on my observation as we sat for a short time (under an hour to get a tire changed!) in the waiting area. Upon driving up, I noticed a good line at the end of the parking lot, where I later learned that folks can drive up and get their tired aired up if they are low. I watched staff take shifts as they cared for folks and even checked each tire as the customer waited in their car. Talk about excellent customer service! I was impressed with how it took very little time for folks to get aired and drive out. You would expect long wait times, especially for a tire shop off of the interstate highway; however, that was NOT THE CASE! After being helped by an associate for a low tire, within 35 minutes, we were back on the road with a brand-new patched-up tire! Every associate was nice and friendly to anyone who walked in, which I can appreciate as any issues with my car; I always suspect the worst-case scenario and think that my whole day will be taken up by getting it fixed. The service is excellent, attentive, and reliable, not with this location and staff. We all know when it comes to replacing all 4 tires it gets a bit stressful because it's not a $100 fix. Having a Jeep with 18 inch tires definitely doesn't help. However, these guys are super cool both in person and on the phone. I had the pleasure of working with SHAY, who was super patient, informative, and easygoing. He helped me get the best bang for my buck, literally. I left happy and knowing I got a good deal and better tires than I anticipated. My Jeep is super dirty but I am still excited at how badass these tires look. Shay advised me to go a bit bigger on the width and that was a really good move. I would rate this business as one of the most dishonest businesses I've ran into. I took my car here to get nails pulled out. Not to mention, I buy full sets of tires with warranty. They damaged my vehicle. I file a claim, and their claim company wants to pay for the damage and tell me, they do not accept responsibility for the damage? This implies that I the customer brought them a damaged vehicle, that they didn't document, and I the customer am being dishonest to get them to pay for something they didn't do. As a consumer I'm not like that and as a person, I do not take kindly to being called dishonest. Then the next sentence says they appreciate my business? Are you serious, like what business would expect to keep a customer when you have provided such poor customer service and blame the customer for bringing their car to your shop to be damaged? Don't go here especially ladies! They will try to upsell you, may damage your vehicle, bring you your keys and provide no paperwork because, they know they are wrong. Also, they do not have cameras in the shop. Seems that would be a good investment but maybe the franchise owner also doesn't care! Go somewhere else! At this point I don't care about their check I can file with my own insurance and achieve the exact same results with no apology and a canned response of how they appreciate my business. I tried to go back to the store when I got home and saw the molding over my left front tire was bent back and hit up against the body of my vehicle. I was met with immediate denial and the manager took a picture, and said I can call fleet. He walked away from me like I was nothing and had not just left that store. Throughout this whole process there was so much customer effort and there was zero empathy. This car is my investment and means something to me. I did not bring in a vehicle that was mistreated or not maintained which is why this was so upsetting to me. I see the other reviews that are good and I have to ask, why me? I am taking it personal because, it was done to my vehicle and I was treated like I brought a damaged vehicle to the business and I'm a shady consumer. I hate writing a bad review! I've used discount tires before and never had any problem but this time was different. So I purchased all new tires for may Silverado as my front tire had a bubble. They were in good shape and had lots of tread, no cracks but were close to 6 years old. I asked them to put one of the tires they were removing, and put it on for my spare.They were the cooper discovery. I got a partial pro rate on the one tire with the bubble. They called and said my truck was ready. I got home and noticed all my chrome valve stem caps that match my rims were gone and replaced with two black , one gold and no cap on the rear tire or the spare tire. I wasn't happy. I was then wondering what else they missed. I called and spoke with a manager and he said he had some valve stem caps he could give me or for me to buy some and they would reimburse me. He was really nice. I then started looking over my truck and my spare was flat. Mind you this was on my truck originally. I drove down spoke with another manager and explained the situation. He did reimburse me for the chrome valve stem caps which was really nice. He got my truck in and brought my keys to me and said the valve stem was bent and not screwed in all the way but they replaced the inner stem. So my complaint is not with the management but I think there is training needed in the shop. I got my truck home and looked under at my spare and still no valve stem cap but the other thing was the center piece that holds the tire was not seated in the center but off centered on the rim. I popped into the center which now the tire is loose being it is properly seated. I went to get my spare tool to adjust the cable which holds the tire up but could not be found so I ordered one and tightened the spare my self. On my Chevy rims the weights were on the outside instead of the inside. No biggie but when you have nice rims why wouldn't you have the weights on the inside where they're not seen? Maybe I should have requested. All tires were under inflated around 34lbs. I pull a travel trailer about 8,000lb which I told the guy when I bought the tires. Copper Tires recommended max on towing 8000lbs. Max on these discovery tires are 80lbs. No biggie there I added more air but 34 lbs left the tires feeling spongy. I didn't bother calling again with the other issues and just handled it myself. I took my truck on the highway and it shakes so they didnt do the balancing right either so now i will go to a different discount tire and have them rebalance my tires. Just seems like when you spend close to $1000 dollars it wouldn't be so much work. read more

Instead of trying to help me and and let me know that there was a small screw in my tread (and it could be patched), the salesperson basically said that I needed a new tire (with a bunch of extra fees) so my total for one tire was going to come out to about 135 dollars. I drive an '08 Carolla. I just ended up going to Walmart and used a Walmart subscription and got it patched for free. You could have at least tried to show me that you were a semi honest company, but now I know that I won't be coming back to this establishment ever again. Discount Tire is a reliable company to have my tires serviced with and I've never had any issues after service has been completed. The issue I have with this location is that almost every service tech I've talked to does not communicate what exactly they see and what they recommend I should do. My service today was to have my tires rotated, balanced, and a screw taken out of my back driver's side tire. The tech mumbled the whole time, and proceeded to attempt charge me for wind shield wipers without communicating what he was charging me for. It is easy to say "I've checked your wiper blades and I recommend they be changed." I had a problem at another store and when it could not be fixed there, I called the San Marcos store and spoke with Conner and than Taner. Conner ordered the correct rim and gave me the tracking number. Fedex for some reason could not get it delivered. Taner went out of his way to make sure to not only correct the problem but do so very quickly as we were getting ready to leave town on a 4 month car trip. When he knew the rim was not going to show up he found another and got us right in! Having a spare is important, having one in the winter even more so! I came into discount tire early one morning. There was a gentlemen in a red shirt helping someone on a computer, and a gentlemen in a black shirt standing leaning against the back wall. And another gentlemen in a black shirt doing something on the computer. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to go up to someone, or if I someone would come up to me so I stood there for about 10 minutes. And I go up to the gentlemen in the black shirt who was standing at the computer and be pointed to the guy in the red shirt and told me "one of them will be with you shortly" I said okay and went to sit down so I wasn't in everyone's way as they came and went. The guy in the red proceed to help every other customer who came in after me, even though we made eye contact when I walked through the door. I left that morning, I had places to be and I knew the wait would be longer and me getting there early at that point was redundant. So I came in another day with my fiancé and a gentlemen named Seth "helped" us. Right off the bat he came up to us probably about 2 feet from us both, didn't say good morning didn't say anything just asked if he could take a look at the vehicle. Then walked between us on his way out, way too close quarters for a man I've never met in my life. Before even looking at the proper tire we were in to fix he said we needed all 4 replaced but that we could get by with replacing only 2. I explained I couldn't quite afford all that in this moment and he pushed stating that it wasn't safe to continue driving. Had he not been so monotone and rude up to this point I would've believed he was genuinely concerned with our safety. I was okay with the services provided, but the customer service both times was severely lacking. It's just a bunch of men who don't listen, and think they know more than anyone on the planet. I've done a lot of business with discount tire over the years. Numerous flats fixed and purchase of new tires. Well today I stopped at their location in San Marcos, Tx.. They charged me $51 to mount snd balance a new tire that I brought in. I've been to other tire shops that only charge $20-30 to swap out a tire that you bring in. I had no option but to pay the outrageous $51 since they already had it finished before I paid. Beware of Discount Tire and there charges. I'm sure if I would of bought the tire from them they wouldn't of charged me so much. I also question the manager of the San Marcos store about the cost. He said I was given a discount . I had a good experience here yesterday. My tire pressures were low, and I was nearby, so I thought I'd take them up on the "free pressure check" offer. True to their word, drive in the designated service bay, and someone comes out within a minute or two to air you up. Bryan was the one who helped, and it turned out that my tires were 8-9 pounds low each. I asked Bryan where I stood on rotation service, and he looked it up for me. Turns out I'm due or slightly overdue. He offered to set an appointment up for me on Saturday, but since that's not convenient, I told him I'd come back sometime next week. Only thing that he could have done to make it a five-star experience was to have offered to put me in line that afternoon for the service (there was time left in the day, and they weren't that busy). read more

The worst fucking discount tire you could possibly go to. They fuck yo and tell you it's your fault. Had a regular tire rotation here... couple hundred miles later my tire flies off my truck( 6 inch lifted tundra) and goes bouncing off the bridge I was on( thankfully I was able to keep from flipping and my tire didn't hit anyone) Discount decides they aren't going to pay for it and that is my fault. And i have to cover the cost of repairs Like I'm the one who incorrectly rotated my tires. So I have it towed to a discount Tire in waxahachie only to have my catalytic converter stolen while it was there. Fast forward 3 months I'm still without my truck partly due to the fact that discount tire can't send the right wheel to my repair shop. Long story short I'm without a truck for 3 months because the incompetent fools working at discount tire San Marcos and they took no responsibility for their piss poor work.. This whole shop needs to be disposed of along with the idiots running it. I'd give these clowns no starts if yelp let me. Twas the day before Thanksgiving And all through the lot People were stressing Themselves out. I was not. Hectic year, and some things have fallen by the wayside. This day I realized one of those things were the front tires on a 2nd car (1st is in the shop), which I finally noticed were shockingly bald. It was too late to schedule an appointment, which I always recommend here for non-emergency maintenance to avoid a wait. 4.30pm I roll in asking for Michelin defenders again, and they said they'd get me in (closing time was 6pm). Honestly, I was grateful because I half expected the opposite. Every DT employee I met on this eve of a famous traveling holiday had a positive attitude. I think they have a high-stress job, working all day with 1. Moving strange vehicles 2. Customers spending more than they want to & worried about safe transport for their selves, work, and families.
