The long grueling process in replacing all our windows and doors was not pleasant, with 20+. It was a long process. DWD Anaheim were great on being on top of getting quotes and checking in with us as we worked with our GC. The sales person was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Unfortunately he departed and assured us we were in good hands during the transition. The logistics timeline got tricky and all the materials had some missing windows or broken glass during delivery. The communication was lacking and they improved when I met them in person to address the issues. The downfall of delay of ordering new pieces had a domino effect to other trades for our home renovation to two months :(. I took two stars off due to the domino effect of lack of communication about missing pieces or how long it will take in ordering new materials. But they did work magic behind the scenes but it would be nice if they were more transparent about it. read more

I rebuilt my home in 2014 and bought all my doors and windows here. Greg has been my rep since day 1, he answered all my calls and texts. Every time I am greeted with a cheerful tone and helped resolve all the issues we had. He came to the house personally to help seal a leaking door frame. 2 years after installation our gardener's weed wacker hit a rock into a window and Greg had that window replaced with minimal cost. Now 10+ years later, some of the dual pane windows seal must have leaked and requires replacements. Greg was here again to help me locate the ID in the window to send to manufacturer. They will replace all those windows. So glad to be in good hands. read more

We just ordered three new interior shaker-style two-panel doors, and one set of double closet doors from Discount Window and Door. For some unknown reason, the manufacturer decided to cut 1/4" off of every door on the handle side, leaving a raw edge that was unpainted or sanded, like the hinge side was. The edge they cut off is also chipped on the front due to a probably dull blade. Why, we asked? Answer: "Oh, sometimes we do that." Not only is the front chipped down the whole edge on every door from being cut, but the sides of the shaker panels are uneven. One side is 3 3/4" while the other side is 4". What??? After going back and forth for two weeks about this, (not so much going back and forth, just waiting for Mike, our sales rep from Discount to get back to us). the manufacturer sent a rep. out to our house to inspect the doors. He deemed everything OK and that's the end of it. Well, it's not OK. The doors look terrible on that cut edge, even after sanding and painting, and there is a 1/2" gap between the doors on the closet pair. Discount Window and Door says there is nothing they can do.....so I'm here to tell you DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! They do not stand by their product, or stick up for their customer. When you order a 30x 80 door...that's what you should get....not 29 3/4 x 80! We need to replace every door in our house, but it will definitely not be with Discount. And by the way, their prices are the same as everyone else's...no "discount"! read more

DO NOT waste your money at this store. Completely unprofessional and the worst service experience I've ever had. Here's why: 1. Terrible communication - They reply to emails at a pace measured in weeks, not days. Sometimes I waited two to three weeks with no response. Calling them is pointless - nobody ever answers the phone. 2. I went to the store once to report the issues. Things seemed slightly better, but then the manager left. His replacement, Mike, constantly failed to respond and made up excuses every time. We had three basic requests for replacing a door. It took Mike almost five months to come up with a so-called solution - which ended up being three times more expensive than originally quoted. And the worst part? None of our three requests were fulfilled when the door was finally installed. They then had the nerve to refuse a refund. We had paid extra for a larger custom door and specified it should be cut to 81". The door sat in their store for three weeks, and no one noticed the mistake. Initially, they even refused to admit that they failed to communicate our requirements to the manufacturer. They had no idea that the manufacturer didn't deduct the right amount from their invoice either. We had to wait another full month for a new door. No compensation, no apology. Mike never took responsibility - he just kept making excuses. 3. When I ask to file a formal complaint, the so-called new manager, Francisco, appeared helpful at first. But once I uncovered more problems, he started ignoring emails for days or even weeks. Phone calls went unanswered. Eventually, I was brushed off with vague and evasive responses from someone else. 4. As for the door closer, Mike blamed the contractor for sending him "unclear photos," which led him to order the wrong item. The contractor had to come multiple times, wasting everyone's time. Eventually, the contractor gave up and refused to work with us anymore. On top of that, the first contractor only worked Tuesdays and didn't realize the door needed to be cut to 81". After three failed weeks, we had to hire a second contractor - who immediately identified the problem. Through all this, Mike never once acknowledged his mistakes. Every phone call with him was a nightmare. He constantly interrupted me, refused to listen, and got defensive whenever I pointed out problems. He acts like he's arguing with customers rather than helping them. Honestly, he is the worst salesperson I've ever encountered. I seriously wonder if he's been protected by connections, because I cannot understand how someone this incompetent and rude still works in sales. I demand a proper response from upper management about the conduct of both Mike and Francisco. And I hope the actual owner steps in to fix this disaster. 5. One more infuriating thing - we decided to return the door closer through our second contractor. After multiple follow-ups with no reply, Francisco finally told me they "didn't receive it." When I checked with the contractor, he said he had returned it. Francisco then changed his story and said he had checked with the first contractor instead, then said it was returned "just recently." Everyone in this company lies and makes weak excuses, constantly trying to cover for each other. 6. Lastly - they clearly have no idea what they're doing. After the door was finally cut (because they failed to send the correct info to the manufacturer the first time), it arrived with multiple cuts, visible grooves, and unpainted surfaces. When we complained, they claimed "it had always looked like that." I pointed out that it absolutely hadn't, and only then did they admit they'd ask the manufacturer. "The manufacturer said it's normal, paint will cover it." And they claimed they didn't know this before either! Worse, they never told customers what to expect. Their ignorance and lack of attention to detail are beyond frustrating. This company is a mess. Unless the owner seriously reforms the staff and operations, I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business soon. Btw they never returned my door closer money read more

We ordered three custom size Anderson large slider composite windows for our 1930s Spanish house at DWD and got a great price. Mlike , our sales associate, walked us through several choices at their show room until we settled on Anderson 100 series.. The windows are beautiful, and the custom order was executed earlier than quoted.! But it gets better! The installer that Mlike recommended, Alex Avila was a true craftsman. He installed the windows quickly and trimmed them out to match our house beautifully. I highly recommend DWD all their staff is friendly and helpful and the installer they recommend it was top notch, prices are more than fair. We will definitely use DWD for the rest of our windows. BTW, we got a higher quality product with installation at a better price than all three window companies that advertise on Google. We definitely made the right choice. read more

We purchase windows for our home ten years ago. I called the number provided in the email when we made the purchase. James answered and gave 1000% customer service. I believe he took over the business seven or eight years ago. But that didn't make any difference. He helped me to figure out how to obtain the full lifetime warranty for the windows we purchased. He even sent me a youtube video that explained exactly how to obtain the replacement needed. Without his help, I wouldn't have had any idea how to have the window replaced for free. This business is in jeopardy because of lazy sales people like Jose Sanchez, He is not only a phony, he is a person that doesn't belong in the position of interacting with customers. He has NO skills except to ignore customers. When I visited the store, there were several people hanging around with nothing to do except stand around and laugh and crack jokes with each other. When asked about brochures, well let's just say, they don't have anything updated. Great showroom, terrible sales employee. Had an appointment to measure on 12/6 at 10:30am. Around 11:15am I called and the guy totally forgot about the appointment. He said he was over in Orange off Katella and he would be at my home in a half hour. Well, 1 hour later, he finally shows up. Mind you, he lives in Corona, I'm in North OC. On 12/8 I reached out to Jose Sanchez asking when I can expect a quote for the new doors, he basically stated to me, "he is in communication with the installer regarding my door quote. In particular on the custom size and will have a quote for you soon." at which I responded "Thank you for the response. We await your response with the details." I sent another email on 12/14 because I still hadn't heard from him. "Do you have an update for us regarding the price for the Jeld-Wen closet doors? I can't imagine Jeld-wen is taking this long to get you a price. We already have 2 other bids and they measured after it was measured by the installer. Let us know if you still want our business. Doesn't seem as though you do.." As of date 12/25 I have not received a response to ANY of my further emails. Looks like Jose thinks he doesn't need to work hard for the customer or DWD. It's pretty sad that companies continue to pay their employees to lose customers. SHAMEFUL!! read more

Great experience. I had shopped around for bi-folding doors, and was very frustrated by the experience. It was worse than shopping for a used car. I contacted La Cantina to buy directly from them, and they referred me to Jeff Lannone at DWD. My husband and I went in, and from the get go, the level of professionalism, and customer care was just incomparable to all the other competitors I contacted. Mike Honore was great. He explained everything, was very helpful, and wanted us to be happy. Even after the install, I had an issue, and Jeff & Mike both called me with good advice and intent to assist. DWD is a great company that sells a great product. I recently bought a house that was built in the late 50's and still had the old, single pane, hand crank casement windows. DWD was recommended by my realtor, as was the installer, Larry Herkimer. They make a great team. I bought the Mi brand of windows. Holly at DWD was very easy to work with and responsive to my questions. The windows look great and take about 30 years off the house. Very happy all around. read more

I was in need of getting a part for my Milgard sliding doors. I got the pleasure of working with Dante, who is clearly an expert, and he was able to help me find the name of my part that I needed, and ordered what I needed. He even called Milgard himself several times to make sure we were ordering the right part for the right door. He provided example photos of what I needed to do to fix my door. They did not make any money off of me, Dante was so patient and detailed. I am impressed. One of the few places that I was glad that I took the time to drive to their physical address. They are in an industrial area and it was very easy to find. They had a nice selection of doors and windows. They only have one person working so you may have to wait but the guy working was very polite and took his time with us. They have both premium brands and economical brands to choose from. We bought closet doors from them. They provide free delivery for orders over $500. They can pretty much custom order any size for you. So if you have odd sized windows or doors then it won't be a problem. The pricing is fair and if you are on a budget then they also have economical brands. Only thing they don't provide is installs. They do have names of local contractors that can do the installs for you if you are not able to do it yourself. read more

From start to finish we found Discount Window and Door Co. and especially Greg to be straightforward, professional and easy to work with. I recently flipped a Home in Anaheim and needed to find a replacement xo window, after weeks of searching I found Discount Window. They tracked down the original manufacturer and tried to get a replacement of this 30 year old window. No longer available they assisted me in rectifying the situation, ordered the replacement and IT WAS HALF THE PRICE OF HOME DEPOT AND DELIVERY WAS 3 DAYS, NOT THE 3 WEEKS HOME DEPOT REQUIRED. Since I live in West Hollywood I would have to drive my truck down (bad on gas-sitting in traffic) to pick up the window, so I asked if it could be delivered and drove my motorcycle down to install it, saving gas and 2 hours of travel time. I was only able to do this due to Ray , employee of Discount Window who delivered it on his lunch break, giving me a break, saving time and money. Try to get Home Depot to give you that type of service? Professional, price, time and above and beyond service is what separates Discount Window from others.
