I do not recommend coming here. The three of us spent $1,200 expecting the all-inclusive experience that was marketed to us. Instead we waited in a long line to get in, ate powdered eggs and soggy potatoes for breakfast, and were manipulated into not taking photos of the expensive dolphin encounter: In an effort to sell you the $269.99+tax photo package, they'll tell you that photos are "taken care of" and not to worry about "capturing the moment." We spent $99 for a package of 4 photos (individual photos are $40) and WERE NOT ALLOWED DIGITAL COPIES *OF OUR PURCHASED PHOTOS* BY THESE CROOKS. You can ONLY get digital copies if you pay the full price gouging price of $270. The "all inclusive" part is a misnomer. The drink stands are out of the way and you are not allowed to take drinks in the water. (There is no place in the shade to sit and enjoy drinks while watching your kids from the shore either). The whole setup is designed to ensure you get as little value as possible while giving Sea World as much of your money as possible. Also, the sunscreen they provided barely worked. I reapplied HEAVILY at least 4 times and still burned. That said, the wildlife was wonderful -- I wish I could have enjoyed it without this greedy, manipulative company ruining my day. read more

This was such an amazing experience!!! Dolphins are one of my FAVORITE animals! They are so sweet and smart so naturally I have wanted to swim with them my whole life. My hubby and I did this for our 1 year anniversary and I'm dying to come back again. The price: It may sound pricey at first but understand that it is all inclusive. You spend all day here and it includes all your food and drinks (including alcohol)! It includes your wetsuit for the dolphins swim, your towel, your sunscreen, everything!! So it's worth the price. The resort: There is one restaurant which is a buffet and it serves breakfast and lunch. It is unlimited, all you want to eat. They also have various snack carts across the resort. It's like a little paradise. They have a wave river, with little fishes you are swimming with and waterfalls. They have another section that's a beach with lounge chairs and umbrellas and you can just lay and drink and relax. They have another swimming area with sting rays, yes in the open water with you. They take the stingers out obviously so they can't hurt you but they can touch you! One definitely swam up on my sides and almost knocked me over! They also have a section with sharks! Now those are behind glass but you can still swim next to them on the other side of the glass. The dolphin swim: Amazing! . The actual time spent swimming with the dolphins goes way too fast but you are in the water with them for a little while and they do tricks for you. Then after the swim everyone gets to take pictures with them and even kiss them on the nose. Pictures were not included in the price unfortunately. The most beautiful and unique park you'll ever visit. It's definitely pricey, but totally worth it. If you want to get the most bang for your buck, do the add on for the other parks, it will make you feel better about spending so much. We got to meet a dolphin, feed tropical birds, see otters, and swim in the reef with some fish and rays. It's all inclusive so you get unlimited food and drink all day, and they give you wet suits and towels so you don't need to bring your own. What a wonderful experience! I came here for my second visit to Florida. I went with my family and we all were definitely not disappointed. Firstly, there is plenty of parking. The park is located right across the street from SeaWorld. Discovery Cove is not crowded like most theme parks which made the experience so much more enjoyable. I appreciated how it wasn't crazy crowded. When you first walk in, you check in. The workers there are all extremely friendly and very personal. We ate before we came here. However, the lunch we enjoyed here was great. All of the entrees tasted awesome. Hawaiian chicken and chicken tenders were my favorite. The tilapia also tasted very fresh. Key lime pie was too sweet. Cookies located at the snack bars are spot on perfect. The salted pretzels were disappointingly dry. This park can be quite overwhelming at first but after the worker explained to us the different sections, we organized a game plan. We took on the dry activities first (viewing the aviary and sea otters). Then moved to snorkeling and swimming. The price for this all inclusive park was quite steep but it was well worth it. The park was incredibly clean and well maintained. The aviary section had no bird poop whatsoever. The waters in the pool were crystal clear. I was impressed by the bathrooms. They provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryers, and plastic bags. Two shower curtains for extra privacy. The food was delicious and the free ICEE was very refreshing. The alcoholic ICEEs were not very strong at all-tasted almost like juice. Service is outstanding here and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the dolphin experience here. I stand by my original post in that the quality of the park is fantastic however, i feel like i need to share an experience on a more recent visit. While floating along the lazy river, you enter the aviary for a section. In order to keep the birds from flying out, they have waterfalls on each end. At the exit waterfall, the depth of the river is quite deep (not able to touch the floor). There is a lifeguard posted here, presumably for that reason. As I am floating toward the waterfall, I see an older gent. Probably in his mid 60's, looking very distressed. He did not have a floatation device and seemed to be stuck directly under the waterfall in some undercurrent, but his head kept going underwater. I looked at the lifeguard and yelled "grab him". She was just stood on the bank shouting "sir are you ok? Sir do you need help? Sir?!" The guy was literally struggling to stay afloat. I was able to rush over and stick my float under his arms and lift him slightly. I then got behind him and swam us out of the waterfall toward the shallow water. The poor guy was exhausted and panicking. Only once we were clear did the lifeguard blow her whistle and jump in, telling me that "I'll take him". Too late!!!!! Then a couple of other lifeguards showed up once we were in the shallow part of the river. The man was lead to the stairs to catch his breathe while the lifeguard was getting fist bumps from the supervisor (i assume). I dont like to get individuals in trouble, but I wish I had spoken to a manager that day. If i hadn't helped that man, I honestly have no idea if she would have jumped in the water in time to help him. Please be aware when you visit here. The water seems calm and peaceful, but its what you cant see that is the danger. Be careful and watch your kids! read more

This is the second time I've been at Discovery Cove, and my comments are the same. The food still sucks and the employees still grumpy. The employees who greet you and serve the food are not even friendly. The life guards and animal specialists are nicer. They should educate the life guards about the birds that fly inside the lazy river with the net and waterfall. Absolutely breathtaking lazy river with exotic birds. The prices this year are exorbitant at $330, but I really love the reef and lazy river, so I sucked it up and paid the price. Instead of charging so much, perhaps they should eliminate the alcohol. How safe is it to serve alcohol and then allow people to snorkel in the deep water? A lot of people do not drink and it is not fair to have everyone pay the same price as the drinkers. This year, the hand sanitizer dispensers were all empty. There are not enough showers to accommodate the thousands of people they allow in. After the reef closed at 5, we still used the lazy rive until 5:30 to avoid the long shower line, but there was still a wait for showers. Previous review: Five stars for the Reef and safe snorkeling experience, two for the food and and zero for the grumpy old man who came out screaming at us for taking water after he determined that the soda fountain was closed so he put a clear plastic bag over the cups. Why do they hire grumpy old men at these parks who are so mad that they still need to work and then take it out on people who pay $250+ per day? Discovery Cove should really have a policy that people can take all the water they need while they are in the park instead of being chased away. read more

The Good: Beautiful place, good food, nice refreshments. The dolphin swim was really nice the trainers were also very friendly and talkative. The whole place feels like you've stepped out of Florida and into a tropical island. Did get cut on a rock while in the Reef area and the first aid staff were really helpful. The Bad: The wetsuits we're all ripped all the ones I saw had multiple holes. I had first tried a full body wetsuit and then saw it came with knee holes and then went and switched to the short wetsuit and it had rips on the back end. Some of the staff were rude and condescending. The employee at the photo desk was manipulative in trying to get me to buy a $200 photo package. I understand sales but it's not right to be that pushy to someone especially at a place like this. The photos were $40 per single photo, which is quite pricey, 6x8 so be prepared if your planning on doing any encounters that will have photography. read more

This is a great place. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I don't get out to theme parks often but I have been to most of them at some point or another. This was our first time at discovery and it was an amazing day. I really like that food and drinks (and that means breakfast, lunch, snacks, beer, wine, soda, water, etc) are included. It was super fun to watch the sting ray feeding and we had a great time in the aviary and watching the otters snooze. We enjoyed floating down the lazy river a couple times. We were luck enough to have a cabana and our host Jason was fantastic. He even went the extra mile and called when my husband left his sunglasses behind. What an amazing experience. Definitely something I would consider if your kids are between 8 and 14. The grand reef is amazing . So many beautiful fishes to look at but best if you can use goggles or snorkels. The dolphin experience is best if you can swim but they aren't doing the swim during covid. Food was great for FREE food. The lazy river is a must BuT make sure you wear a vest. There are areas that are 8 feet deep and it's just more comfortable to float . Aviary and the otters viewing was "ok". From experience, the Otters environment at the Flamingo Gardens in Pembroke Pines, FL was breathtaking compared to Discovery Cove. This was by far the best day of our entire trip to Orlando, even after leaving the park we wanted to send pictures to everyone we knew to explain how wonderful this place was. Upon entering discovery cove you immediately feel like you are in an oasis. You are greeted by warm smiles, and everyone is so happy to help you find your way around the various areas. We arrived at 8:15 am and that was the perfect time to check in, eat breakfast, find lockers, apply sunscreen, put on our wetsuits and find our beach chairs. You cannot get in the water until 9am. We then entered the salt water area with the rays and fish. This was so wonderful that immediately after entering I went and bought an underwater case for my phone from the gift shop. The case did not damage my phone at all and I got some really great pictures. We spent quite a bit of time here and then got lunch right at 11, and then to the lazy river, bird area, and fresh water oasis. We were also having drinks in between all of this and then we went back and did the whole process over again. We ended at the freshwater oasis, where you can have drinks in the water. You can stay in the saltwater area until 5 and the freshwater areas until 5:30. We stayed until the absolute last possible moment. Then went back to the locker rooms and took showers and got ready to go. A helpful tip: the picture place gets very busy towards the end of the day, if you're planning on getting pictures try getting them before 5:30-6 so you can avoid the long line, if you're not getting a picture cd. I would say the dolphin experience was awesome. The dolphin trainers were absolutely amazing and friendly (girl with the braids) was so nice. However, the shark experience was horrible. You spend way too much money on the shark encounter to just deal with unfriendly staff. Kayla at the cafe was super friendly as well as Sam the guy who helped my dad finally find the right size of wet suit was nice but the staff prior were unkind and got him the wrong size. However, Amber was so rude and unprofessional . Don't apply for a job that includes customer service if you can't treat people kindly. She was one of the most rude people at this establishment. A few of us in our group went to her for help and questions and we were all talked down to. Lastly, I would say the photographer was very rude. It was clear he was just there because he had to be. Very bittersweet experience. Read the full review for details. It is the best water themed park I have visited. It is unique in its approach and offerings. I purchased the dolphin swim with 2 sister park tickets. All meals, snacks and drinks are included for the day at discovery cove which is a win. They provide you with lockers and the necessary gear at no additional charge (vests, wetsuits, snorkel gear, towels, shampoo conditioner and body wash for women). The only items you actually need to take are your swimsuit, hats/caps, sandals, aqua socks/water shoes and phone. I would suggest purchasing a water pouch for your phone if you'd like to submerge it underwater, they charge $30 per case and give you 15 minutes to exchange it if it's defective. I would also suggest purchasing your water shoes ahead of time as they charge $30 for their own. The dolphin swim was an amazing experience and well worth it. You get to meet the dolphins, have some interaction with them, take photos and swim with them. They do not permit cameras or photography near the dolphin lagoon. They have their own photographers capturing the photos. They charge various prices for the photo keepsakes and photo packages, the most expensive being $300. The grand reef was definitely one for the books. They have many fishes of all colors and sizes as well as rays swimming in there with you. They also have a wind away river that definitely lives up to its name. It was extremely relaxing. The facility as a whole is very clean, calm and serene. The restrooms are the cleanest I have seen in any amusement setting. The one thing that did turn me off completely was at the end of my day. When I picked up the snorkels, there was a miscommunication and I was under the impression that I was able to take the snorkel, mask and bag with me. I was stopped at the exit by an employee that happen to be pushing a container in the area. He was an older caucasian male, David. He stopped what he was doing to approach me about the bag which was fine however, he made an extremely INAPPROPRIATE and unnecessary comment to me as I was waiting. In addition to already making his way towards me for the bags, he has the audacity to tell me "guests think everything is free here". He may have thought the insult flew under the radar however, I am an adult and I know there was an ulterior motive for that comment. It is unacceptable that these are the types of individuals employed here. I paid for this trip, it was NOT free and it was paid in the same currency as everyone else. As I said to him in response, nothing in this life is free. Perhaps the management team should implement customer service and cultural diversity trainings rather that yelling at their employees about things like their positions in the wind away river in front of customers. There was supervisor that had the lifeguard girls cornered by the wind away river bridge yelling at them to the top of her lungs in front of all the park guests telling them their positions were in the area she assigned and she didn't care it was raining cats and dogs. I am truly appalled as a human being. Those girls being yelled at are someone's daughter and I'm sure if their parents knew how they were being treated, you wouldn't be standing in one piece. I definitely did not like that. That type of behavior in a management staff member is abusive, worthy of being reported and suspended without pay if not terminated altogether. Discovery cove lost 2 stars due to their employees. Both unprofessional and abusive, one with me as a guest directly and the other with the staff. This is a review from the view of two adults, no kids. Tips: 1. get there early, parking is easy access and abundant. Breakfast is good and all meals and snacks are buffet style. 2. Go to the aviary first! That's when the birds are most hungry and most likely to come eat from you. We went right at 8:30 am and it was AWESOME. 3. Do the SeaVenture dive!! It was an awesome experience and well worth the money. The bathrooms and lockers are exceptionally clean and tidy all day long. This is a huge plus. The wet suits are good quality and you get snorkel gear also. Both worked great. The lazy river was relaxing although we didn't get to see any otters and the monkeys didn't come out. It is being said that you should never go back to something, as it will never be as good as you remember it? Can't say that this is the case @ Discovery Cove as the Quality of the reef, aviary and lazy river is as good now as it was before. The Dolphin Swim certainly seems to be just as good as well, jeugdinternationals from the reactions of the guests. The food is ... well, it is not bad and this as well is as it used to be. And maintaining a status is never easy. So: thank you, it was a pleasant, very relaxing day, worth the visit. A few things have changed, not necessarily major: the picture taking at the beginning is not there anymore (I can do without it) and finding your way to lockers, gear and day-bed is more expeditions style. The Guest Relations staff, on occasion, appear like they have been in the Relationship past it's expiration date, connecting is more an online thing these days! But then again, you are not there to visit the staff .. Two things that I would offer for consideration: More shade in the seating areas! In the Afternoon of a very hot day, it was necessary to abandon the lounge chairs due to parasols being in short supply. (Reply from guest relations: first come - first serve!). Surely offering the option to have and use it vs having it and declining to use it will not move the park towards certain bancruptcy. This also applies for the day-beds. Looks like a good idea, are a good idea, but not quite worth the expense at this time, comfort is ... limited and shade is absent in the Afternoon. Still: it is difficult to maintain a high standard and Discovery Cove does manage this quite well. If you don't like sand or cruises, this isn't the place for you. The sun screen is thick so the sand just cakes to you. You must wear the wetsuit (full body or vest) they provide to get in any of the water. Many people wore the entire bodysuits. If you're scared of Covid, this is not the place for you. This place looks filled with anti-vaxxxxers. No one was wearing their mask in the lobby and it wasn't being enforced If you like good food or healthy food, this isn't the place for you. The yogurt parfait is cute but it's definitely like vanilla yogurt (which is full of sugar) and it's topped with what looks like those nature valley bars which is also a ton of sugar. The eggs were scrambled and formed that brown bottom that happens when you don't stir your eggs enough. Thank god there were bananas and plums. The only reason for 2 stars (rather than 1) is because the bathroom near the water (not near the food) is beautiful and clean so far, which is hard to do at a beach. It deteriorates as wet people covered in sand trek through the bathroom but I did see staff continue to try to keep the bathroom stocked and clean as possible given the circumstances. It was a cold day but some of the stuff like lazy River has heated water! The dolphin experience and snorkeling area not so much! We had a good time still and the food is simple great especially for a theme park where it's typically crap! The food here is great! My only issue we had was we had a 215pm dolphin time slot and were asked to be there at 205pm we did but they were running behind and with it being cold and we were wet the wait till 3pm became to much for my youngest daughter 9 years old and she and my wife had to leave because they got to the point of shivering so bad. They kept saying they were waiting for trainers but still 45 minutes of waiting was bad! They did refund us for the two of them and gave us passes to come back again. Their customer service from management was god to work with but still we missed out on a family experience! We will come back as the dolphin experience is fun especially for the kids! This was an AMAZING experience for my husband and I while we were honeymooning in Orlando. The only negative-- the Dolphin Interaction, is just that. On the Discovery Cove website, the dolphin interaction is a "Dolphin Swim". However, you do not get to swim with dolphins. Our interaction consisted of standing in the water with a trainer as well as a dolphin, and we got to pet the dolphin. I paid hundreds of dollars for a swim. I think that Discovery Cove should update their website to explain that it is an interaction versus actually getting to swim with dolphins! read more

Just returned from Discovery cove and here's the review I wish I would have read beforehand. It is a beautiful place! The experience swimming in the reef pool is as good or better than an open water dive based on easy access and variety of sea life. Obviously it's not like diving in Cancun, but for 95% of the guests it's just as good especially for the kids. As you know before reading this review, this is a very expensive day. Advice here is get going early arrive at 0730 and eat breakfast as soon as you get there. An early arrive will lock in an early dolphin experience, if you paid for this. Early dolphin experience means less likely to be rained out like ours almost was. Rains came in at 1:30 and pretty much threw off rest of the afternoon. Lightning was the issue. I saw $$ flying out the window at that point since we wanted to do more of reef pool after lunch (and we got there late also ) Oh well at least we did the lazy river and checked out aviary which was really fun to feed birds. If you do get there late (8:30-9). Get in the water first and grab breakfast at around 9:45. Better to be earlier though to really get the best experience. Don't bother with cabanas since it's already so expensive, if you are lounging in your $$$ cabana then you are not in the water!! There is a lazy river which is relaxing , there is nothing to see here though it's almost like a swimming pool . The second lagoon has the swim with dolphins option which cost more but worth every penny . It's really a beautiful experience . Children must be 6 and over . The water is cold but if you wear a diving suit which you can buy or they are also provided at you visit help deal with the cold water . The third lagoon is the most exciting I think because you are actually swimming in a controlled environment. It does feel like you are swimming in the ocean. It you can relax a bit since your not in the open ocean where anything including sharks lol can pop up out of no where . There are small sharks , sting rays and many tropical Fish including puffer , parrot and many more swimming freely and they do come Up to you . They are not afraid at all . Again a beautiful experience , I taught my daughter how to snorkel visiting here and she caught on quickly. There is an aviary you can visit , the birds do come to eat right off your hand . They are very friendly and love to interact with you, not aggressively either . Last the food it is all inclusive and the food surprising is delicious. Out of all theme parks I e been to this has one of the best options and everything is cooked within view . They have breakfast time slotsand lunch not sure about dinner . Overall I was disappointed with the experience at Discovery Cove and the money (best part of $300) it costs per person was not worth it for the limited and underwhelming experience I received and as the final letdown any add-ons were really expensive! Swim with a Dolphin: They have mixed up the name, it's actually stand with a Dolphin and you'll get some pictures and a single glide on the dolphin. Don't get me wrong the staff/trainers were great and clearly care for the dolphins and explained why we can't actually swim with them, they were happy to help anyway they could and went above and beyond in answering any questions and arranging a group photo! The photos were far too expensive, they did not let you photo/record the experience but made you use their photographer / photos, which they charge and additional $260 if you want more than 1 for each group member and wanted them in a digital format! The fact remains the package is misleading and way overpriced and that's not even including the photos! Included Mask and snorkel: They include a Mask and snorkel, they must have been the lowest quality money could buy, the seal would leak constantly, staff in this situation wasn't really helpful, they told me to tighten the mask, which i already did hence using the mask / snorkel was not possible meaning I could not use the attractions to the full potential (not sure the staff really had the power to do anything) If you come, bringing your own mask and snorkel is a must! Buying a decent one onsite was extortionate! The reef: This is the main attraction at Discovery Cove, they claim you can watch the fish and sealife, that's just not the case! They allowed far too many people in the reef to the fact you were nearly shoulder to shoulder with other guests, but more worse is that every other guest screemed, splashed and bumping into those around them and caused absolute rukus everytime any creature came near them, so pairing this with the leaky mask, you were lucky if you got 10 seconds to actually look at the sealife before they got scared off, the masked got filed with water, or you got hit in the head! The food and drinks: The food and drinks were unlimited and the staff were fantastic! The food was ok, just like most all you can eat buffets, but the drinks were not quite right, seemed like they were watered down a far amount, no matter the drink station we used this was the same! I ended up just having water due to this! Other good things: Choice of wetsuite or wet vest Changing rooms/toilets were clean and were replenish quickly, the changing rooms included private showers of which the water was actually warm! The weather: On our visit the weather was fine until 3pm, (I personally was re-dressed and ready to leave at midday due to the reasons already stated above, but family wanted to stay longer) Then it rained heavy, real heavy then the flaws of the park began to show, no solid paths to the lockers meaning you has to walk across the flooded sand to get to the locker! Then the path ways would all get flooded, to above shoe high, just one last thing to really make the day just that much worse! read more

We had a reservation for today, but the weather is terrible; cold and rainy. The concierge informed all entering at the time, about 30 people that we could reschedule due to the weather. We got to the cashier-agent and asked about rescheduling. We had already changed the date once due to a school event. We wanted to be certain that we would not be charged a fee to reschedule as we were able to stay if that was the case. The agent checked with her manager and said that we would be fine to reschedule, again with NO fee, due to the circumstances of today's poor weather. She stated that she would note this in the computer on our account and gave us a reference number to use when we reschedule. So we call a few hours later to be told there is no record of any of this and that Sea World would wave the transfer fee, but charge us the difference in cost for whatever day we pick. Any other day than today would be about $100 more, per person. Sea World would not budge saying this is their policy; take it or leave it. Lose $600 dollars or pay $300 more to reschedule, when the agent and manager said this would not happen. We are severely disappointed how this phone agent chose to handle our situation. If anyone has any other ideas or avenues to resolve this issue, I would welcome your input. read more

I highly recommend coming to Discovery Cove when booking your trip to Orlando. It's all inclusive and the food and drink choices are amazing. If you want to enhance your experience I would get a cabana. It's a little pricy but I love it and it gives you some privacy read more
