I recently got to come back to Dish Society and try the pancakes again, and they're sooooo much better than the first time! Now they're perfectly fluffy, not too sweet, and don't have a strange aftertaste. You can order either a side of pancakes (just 1) or a stack (2 pancakes) so make sure to specify what quantity you want when you order. I also got to try the Green Society green juice which was super refreshing, and I couldn't even taste the kale so I'd recommend it. I visited on a Friday afternoon and it was almost completely empty, so if you're looking to try the food without a wait definitely come on a weekday! read more

This was my first time to check out Dish Society. I was meeting a friend for lunch. Being in the Mueller area, this is a great location to meet up for a lunch date. There is street parking (can be difficult to find) and parking garages. The area is very pedestrian friendly once you park, with street parking and a garage available. You order at the counter and it's free seating. It is a really casual atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. For an appetizer, we had the pretzels and queso. You could really take the flavor of the gouda and the cheesy consistency was great for the pretzels. For lunch, I had 2 options that were on the seasonal menu. The harvest salad was filling. Usually I am not a fan of kale, but it went well with this salad. I also had the butternut squash bisque which was so creamy and delicious! I can't wait for this to be back next season! I also had a coffee since I hadn't had my coffee yet for the day. Since it was later in the day, they had already put away the drip coffee by the time I was ready for my second cup. Came here for dinner on a Monday night (tonight) at 5:30. I walked in and just my friend and I were there plus one person at the bar. I didn't realize it was counter service, okay no biggie although not my fave. My friend ordered a drink bc it was happy hour, and her entree. I then also ordered my drink, the frozen prickly pear marg, and my entree the hot Nashville chicken sandwich, at this point it's 5:40. The girl even mentions to me how fast the kitchen is. We sit down- and they gave my friend a number but not me- Im assuming it's because they knew we were together and put us all on the same number. Within a few minutes, my friends drink is posted up on the service bar. Where it sits. And is ignored by everyone walking by. Okay- maybe they are waiting to make my marg too. Or- are we supposed to go get it? Instructions are not given so we wait. Another 6-8 mins go by, and my friend entree comes out. She still has no drink as it's been sitting there, I have no drink, and no food. It's almost 6 at this point. So I ask the food runner hey uhhh, are we supposed to grab her drink and he said no and gets it and then I go well I still don't have my margarita. He goes to the bartender and comes back and says they were having "issues" and can't get the margarita frozen so can I order something else. umm, when was anyone planning to tell me that? It had been almost 20 minutes since I placed the order! If I didn't ask, then what?! So I picked something else and my drink comes and now my friend's food is cold, her Mac and cheese like thick and hard, and I'm like hey sorry- where is my entree? Am I on a different number like is my food lost? Mind you there's maybe 4 parties in here now total. So then they have to go check on that. So I get my drink 20 mins after ordering and my food even later. While my friends food on the same number who ordered 2 mins before me just sat and got cold. Plus because it's counter- no one checks on you, it's unclear how to get extra sauces, and honestly the whole thing was just frustrating especially given how slow it was, at least in house. The drinks were fine for the $7 HH price point and I love how big and eclectic the menu is but that service and communication was so disappointing. I will say the fries were good and the pretzel bun on the sandwich quite literally earned a whole star here. I could eat that bun everyday of my life. BUT THE chicken was burned and so dry I could chew it like gum unfortunately- wonder if it was left too long on the grill or fryer and hence the delay in my meal. Even the honey couldn't moisten it. It did not look like other pictures in other reviews did in terms of color or thickness. I would love to try more food because my friend did enjoy hers and I do think the prices are great for the area AND AGAIN, the menu is interesting and eclectic and lots of veggie options- but maybe I should try take out lol. I was ready to forgive $20 for a sandwich. I was ready to forgive 3 blackberries and 1.5 strawberries as the 'berry topping' on the power pancakes. I was so impressed that while new, the staff have been trained well and gave detailed recommendations on menu items. Also, several people checked up on us while we were seated to see if we needed anything and if everything was to our liking. I'm really excited about the menu variety here - so many options from pasta, tacos, sandwiches, salads to all day brunch! I enjoyed the chicken tortilla soup as it is very veggie heavy and has fresh strips of tortilla chips. The truffle mac and cheese is rich and satisfying, I'd order it again. Live close by so we were excited to see a new breakfast spot in Mueller. First off, you order at the register then are supposed to find a table yourself. It creates a very awkward atmosphere. People were pissed they overpaid for a basic breakfast and then didn't have a seat. The poor old lady at a table we finally got apologized for finishing her coffee. It makes diners feel like they have to rush as people waiting are staring angrily at you. Management tried to get people to sit outside but it was freezing. Aside from that, the food was mediocre. The pancakes were GIANT but so dry. They don't give you butter and the thimble of syrup barely covered a corner. Finally we got up and asked for a second thimble but honestly I was done by then. Attended the soft launch and was very impressed with the ambiance and the food. The service staff was still learning the systems so I'll give them grace on the speed to get through the ordering process. The Hot Chicken Sandwhich was soooooo good. I'd give Dish Society 4+ stars overall. I would absolutely return in the future. Service: It is counter service only (which I don't love, but I get that that's just part of the concept here) - once you order, you get a number to put on your table (assuming you can find one when it's super busy - pack your patience as you'll need to wait in line to order and we saw some have to then wait for a table to open up!) and then your food is brought to you. The staff on the whole are extremely helpful and friendly. From bringing heaters nearby to make standing in line outside warmer to delivering food to the table to helping with parking validation at the nearby parking garage, they clearly have pride in the food and holistic experience, which I applaud. Ambiance: It is extremely bright and upbeat with clean tables of varying sizes and shapes. There are plants to add to the flair. And the layout of the space is organized and efficient. Food: The menu has an incredible variety. Such a great mix of things for various tastes and desires. I went for the NUTELLA FRENCH TOAST. It's labeled a house favorite and I can see why. There are two nice pieces of toast drizzled with Nutella and topped with fresh fruit (strawberries and blackberries on the day I went). It was just the right portion size and didn't feel overly sweet. I got a side of SKILLET POTATOES to go with my main. These were just OK. I think they need some sort of queso or other flavor addition. They are extremely small bites of potato, so were hard to get onto the fork. They are not dripping in grease, which was definitely a positive; however, I don't know that I'd order them again. My friend got an order of the HOUSE BEIGNETS BITES and so I got to try some. They are absolutely out of this world good. So worth it. A really good portion of the pillowy dough bites and an incredible coffee sauce (and I don't even like coffee!). I just had lunch here with my coworkers. I believe this is a brand new place in the Mueller area. We decided to give it a try and it didn't disappoint! Houstonians are known for their brunch culture so it's nice to have a new option for Brunch any time of the week. Service is counter service for ordering and you get a number and sit anywhere you want. There are menu's when you enter so you can look at them before or while you are waiting in line. You pay first so ask for parking validation as well. They do validate! I got my food before my drinks. They are still new so i think they are still working out there kinks. The shrimp and grits were delicious. Very creamy grits if you like them that way more like a cream of wheat texture. The sauce was nice but I did add lots of chili sauce and they give a few different bottles of it too! The Houston Sauce Co. Hot Sauce was defiantly my favorite. I also got a mimosa with pineapple juice - i would say its 50/50 split between the sparkling wine and juice so if you are day drinking this won't slow your day down. I also got an espresso martini because why not? it was the holiday season anyways. This was more of typical preparation with the edible coffee beans and shaken to more a creamy texture. Would I go again. Yes, if I'm here for the farmers market or watching a movie this is another option especially before a matinee. This is my first experience here at a suggestion from a co-worker. We went after work. They had a really great social hour with some decent discounts on house cocktails, wine and beer. The interior is bright and refreshing, very welcoming. Overall, the service is kind and friendly but very slow. A couple of items were missed when ordering so I'll note that that is hard to gauge timing. However the ones that were put in took a very long time so know what you went ahead of time, order it all at once because going back for more, there will be a delay. This is counter service so it doesn't really work with open tabs the way a table service restaurant would. The food itself was decent. I can't say that anything on the menu had me craving any more of it. The shrimp was a little off with an aftertaste. But the ideas behind most of the dishes were good. The appetizers, which they call snacks, were good the best being the pretzel and cheese dip but the entrees weren't my favorite. To be fair, they did seem to be training one to two new people and it was the middle of the week so I'm not opposed to trying it once again, but it's certainly not going to be at the top of my list. Worth a try here if you are in the Mueller area and want something quick. The cocktails were nicely made, they just took a very long time. What's key is when things were missed in the order or delayed, everyone was friendly and helpful. read more

Very faily priced for the quality of the taste and the quantity of how much you get. The Southwest Scramble is massive and the Chicken and Biscuits are huge so definitely enough to take home some leftovers. The vanilla latte I had was also very tasty so 10/10 for all the variety of tastes. Vibe : The inside is very nicely decorated and for a 10:00am on a Sunday was not overly crowded. I'd say about 90% at capacity but we didn't have to wait on a table which was nice. You order at the counter so there is no one serving you, but there are plenty of employees walking around who are happy to help if needed. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The restaurant was doing a soft open for training purposes, but we would not have guessed it if we hadn't known ahead of time! The fast-casual restaurant's line moved efficiently, and the cashier was friendly. After ordering, we sat ourselves at a small booth. The restaurant itself is very pretty and had an overall clean aesthetic - whites, wood tones, greenery, and gold finishes throughout. There was abundant seating options, both inside and out. The food came out faster than expected and was fresh and delicious. The gouda grit balls were fantastic, with their pepper-jelly drizzle offering a nice contrast to its salty cheese filling. The hummus was delicious, creamy, and served with warm pita for dipping. My entree was the Grilled Pesto Chicken Sandwich, which was just amazing! I ordered the Balsamic Bacon Brussels Sprouts as a side item substitute for the chips that it normally comes with. I didn't LOVE the side item - the Brussels weren't cooked, and the bacon and balsamic that it comes tossed with were almost undetectable.
