Service was great. Love a restaurant that greet you upon entry and the waiter immediately come over to greet you. Dave was pleasant and helpful with selecting items. Chicken seasoned well. Funnel cake to hard for my liking. Wouldn't say it was a flop So I guess I'll try again just a different selection of good and drink. Also to note Big Ole Sign at the door says happy hour 12-5 Order a drink he says it don't start until 2:00 Lost me there. I'm heavy on what you advertise should be!!!
I stopped by Honey Hole for brunch and overall had a good experience. Parking was easy with plenty of spaces in the shared shopping center parking lot, which is always a plus in this area. The restaurant has a lively brunch atmosphere with a good crowd and the kind of vibe that's ideal for catching up with friends. Service was a little slow during my visit; my server was nice but she was new and you could tell. I ordered the catfish and grits and that dish was easy 8.5/10. First thing I did was pull the catfish off the grits because I refuse to let good fried fish get soggy. It stayed crispy the entire meal, and the fish was seasoned well. The grits were creamy and not runny like some restaurants serve. I also treated myself to a frozen Bellini. It was good, although a little pricey for the size. Overall, the food was solid, the atmosphere was fun, and I'm not opposed to coming back.

Stuffed French Toast: 9/10 I only had a few bites, but I really enjoyed it. The cinnamon flavor was on point, and the consistency was perfect, fluffy without being soggy. The only reason it's not a 10 is because I'm not a huge fan of white chocolate. Catfish and Grits: 9/10 The crawfish étouffée sauce is really delicious, but without it the dish would be pretty bland. That said, the catfish itself is filling and very crispy. It's not the best I've had in Houston, but it's definitely tasty. Drinks: 10/10 The Peach Bellini is super fresh and absolutely delicious. I could drink an infinite amount of these. It is definitely on the sweeter side if that's not your thing. The blueberry margarita is also really good. This is 100% a girly brunch drink spot, so expect to leave feeling it. When the DJ is playing, the music is loud af, and with how packed it gets, it can be hard to hear the people next to you. If you can, I recommend asking to be seated in the back or a quieter room. Overall, I would come back for select dishes and definitely for the drinks
I came here with my brunch ladies to celebrate a birthday. We made reservations online, but there wasn't a wait when we arrived. I wasn't too sure about this place based on the reviews, but this has been in our list. The crowds started rolling in around 10:30-11ish. The atmosphere was chic. I was a little skeptical about the chairs since I'm a thicker person, but they were actually very comfortable and I didn't have any issues. Our waiter was amazing. I wish I remembered his name. The mimosas were stronger than I expected, 2 had me feeling nice. I ordered the Cajun Breakfast Bowl, which had a nice little kick. The eggs were cooked over medium, and if you like a runny yolk, that's definitely the way to go. The etouffee was perfect and really helped soak up the golden potatoes. My girls ordered the Hivewhich and the Pork Chop & Eggs. I wish I had snapped a picture. The pork chop was a pretty big portion and also had a kick. Overall, we had a great experience and I'd definitely return.
I read the negative reviews prior to coming which made me nervous to try, but I went anyway. A former coordinator/friend I worked with suggested this place for brunch, so I made a reservation for noon on a Saturday. The location is near the galleria by where the second Gallery Furniture used to be. There's a large, open parking lot that gets packed. Walking in, there's a hostess stand around the corner to the left. We were seated at a small table for two near the bar. There were a lot of people dining at the bar and the main dining area. I always look at the menu before coming, so I knew what I wanted to order. Some of the appetizers aren't available on the weekends, and it's noted on the menu. The bad part is that the cocktails are labeled as mocktails, which none of them are or can be made into one. I accidentally ordered a gin cocktail, but I switched it out with a pineapple mocktail which was basically pineapple and club soda. They do have a variety of fruit flavors, but that's the gist of their mocktails. I really wanted coffee, but their espresso machine was broken that day. My friend and I shared the funnel cake fries which took a while but was served hot and fresh with a side of glazed dipping sauce. It was a larger portion than I expected and was so good, but I restrained myself because I ordered the honey crunch French toast croissant. I really enjoyed the croissant version of French toast. I'm more of a pancakes and waffles girl, but this was one of the best French toasts I've had. It was a cross between Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Special K cereal with the clusters. The house made whip helped cut the sweetness of the honey. We shared the salmon tacos, which I normally don't gravitate towards fish, but I liked it. The flavor was good with the mardi gras slaw and honey chipotle aioli. The flour tortillas were too thick though. It would've been nice to have an option for corn tortillas. Overall, I thought this place was ok. I liked what I ordered. There's not much variety in drink options, the food takes a while to come out, it's kind of overpriced, and it's really loud inside. I had to yell talk to talk to my friend sitting across from me. Expect to come dressed to the nines here. The atmosphere/clientele reminds me of FRNDS in Rice Village but more open with sunlight. I was worried about reviews regarding the billing, but they didn't charge us the 18% that's meant for tickets $125 or more. Others experienced being billed gratuity under this amount. At your own risk when you dine here, I guess! They do charge a fee for using a credit card. I saw 1.95% on our bill which wasn't much, but the restaurant could cover those fees. Would I come back? Maybe if friends want to go. They do have some unique menu items.

Overall it was a pleasant experience and I recommend a visit.
Last month, we visited The Honey Hole based on a recommendation and CiCi gave us such great service, we returned again with a larger family group to share with them. Loved everything we tried, especially the Catfish & Grits. The salmon tacos coulda used a nice sauce or something, otherwise they were Ok. Drinks, Service and Cleanliness was 9.5/10. A new HTX fave, clearly, still thinking about it a month later!
Stopped by for brunch and I got the stuffed French toast, which was delicious and plated very nicely. I also got a side of potatoes, which were very underwhelming and not worth the $6 at all. We also got mimosas and to our surprise they give you some kind of flavored syrup to mix your champagne with instead of standard juice. I was not a fan of that because you couldn't taste the flavor at all. It pretty much just colored the drink and that was it. The service overall was just okay, nothing to rave about. I love checking out bathrooms in restaurants, and this one was in disgusting condition. A lot of the stalls weren't flushed, toilet paper on the floor, and puddles of water all on the sink counter. They definitely need to have someone checking in on the restrooms periodically because that was unacceptable. Overall this was a one and done for me, won't be back.

Food is good with flavor and spices plus the service is always great .we celebrated my friends birthday there and ambiance is good overall but not great . Dj music is too loud on weekends.
Such a beautiful restaurant. Great color scheme and good natural lighting. I have been here on multiple occasions and it has its ups and downs. I usually stick to the same menu item so I will say that I have never had an issue with the chicken fried chicken and grits. It's full of flavor always comes out hot and fresh and gravy is delicious. Grits are hands down some of the best in HTX. My last experience I had here my friend ordered the Cajun breakfast bowl which he stated was delicious. He felt he had a good balance in the entree. My sister however had a different experience. She ordered the honey lemon pepper wings. Although she liked the flavor the size of the wings were tiny. She has ordered them before and wasn't disappointed. Idk if they have changed food vendors but the wings were so small they barely had any meat on them. They were literally half the size of her pinky.
I recommend making a reservation when going here especially if it's the weekend. They get packed! This place is very very tasty. The restaurant itself has a beautiful aesthetic; but the two young ladies at the front were not personable at all. Our waiter was doing his best but he was all over the place- I won't fault him cause he was sweet. The food was excellent and so was the drinks. We got the fish and grits and it was sooo good!! Overall a good experience! I passed by the kitchen and was elated to see black men in the kitchen. Always a plus.
Seated quickly and serviced quickly. We did make a reservation. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. He provided us with good recommendations. It was pretty busy but it wasn't loud. The music was good.

This is my first time in Houston, and my friend recommended The Honey Hole. When I tell you... DELICIOUS. I got the Hivewich and the White Chocolate Mocha Latte. The restaurant had great ambiance, great service, and a great time!! The real cherry on top was our server. If you request anyone, REQUEST. SESE. Pleasant server with a great personality!! I will definitely be back when I visit Houston! read more

This place is buzzing, and I can see why! The food options and interior design both draw people in naturally. The chicken and funnel cakes here is such a fun creation! As someone who has loved chicken and waffles everywhere, I have to admit that the replacement of waffles with funnel cakes at the Honey Hole might've won my heart over. My friend ordered the catfish and grits, and it looked equally satisfying. Walking into the place also feels like going on vacation, and the staff are great! However, it does seem like much of the premium service and experience are built into the higher bill at the end. For reference, chicken and funnel cakes alone is $29. The hearty portion size for the menu options helps make the price tag easier to accept. One other area to be aware of is that the Honey Hole partners with a photographer on weekends and holidays, so you may see someone offering to take professional photos of your table, but those pictures will then require $25 each to keep. I would recommend for the Honey Hole to reevaluate the partnership and perhaps offer digital photos at a lower rate as courtesy to all the guests visiting. Other restaurants such as Benihana offer complimentary digital and print photos for special occasions, so $25 for one photo is truly a bit much. Overall, I would say Honey Hole is still a worthwhile visit, and I'll definitely be stopping by again to satisfy my chicken and funnel cake craving. Pro tip: if you decide to order the catfish and grits, you can request for the catfish to be served separately so that it doesn't get soggy on top of the grits. read more

I had seen The Honey Hole pop up several times on my social media timelines, so when my friends and I were deciding on a spot for New Year's brunch, we decided to give it a try. Making a reservation was easy, and even though we arrived a little later than planned, we were still seated, which I appreciated. One thing to note, though: the reservation booking site doesn't clarify that selecting the Lounge area means you'll be seated on low couches. Once the hostess explained this, I asked if we could move to the dining room, and she kindly accommodated us--even though the restaurant was pretty busy at the time. Because it was the holiday, we anticipated potential delays in service. Unfortunately, our waitress didn't help ease that experience. She seemed disengaged, was short with us throughout the visit, and rarely checked on us while we waited between receiving our drinks and food. The food itself was pretty good, and the portion sizes were solid. That said, I do agree with others who feel it can be a bit overpriced depending on the dish. We ordered a mimosa carafe, which came with the champagne bottle and juice on the side--something we prefer and enjoyed. However, my boyfriend and I also ordered Sprites, and when they arrived, they were warm with only a few melted ice cubes, which felt like an attempt to cool them down rather than serve them cold. It seemed like the lounge area had a DJ or music playing, and while we could hear it faintly from the dining room, it wasn't distracting. I might consider coming back to check out the lounge during a happy hour, but I'm in no rush to return. Overall, I'm glad I finally went and experienced it for myself after having it on my list for a while. read more
I can't believe this place has a 3.6 overall rating. We loved everything about this place! It's in the Galleria area close to Post Oak but parking is readily available in a very large lot. We placed a reservation and were promptly greeted upon check in. The restaurant is lively, bright and airy. Popped by the restroom and found them to be in immaculate condition. Our server was wonderful. She was prompt, attentive, and gave us great recommendations! We ordered a carafe of mimosas (blood orange and pineapple juice combo). If you plan to have more than a couple of glasses, the carafe is the way to go. Now onto the main event, the food. Mom had funnel cake with wings, my husband had funnel cake with 2 wings and catfish and I had the breakfast bowl. Every entree was phenomenal! Beautiful presentation and when I tell you the food was seasoned to the nines absolutely delicious. As you would expect the funnel cake was nice and crispy and sweet which really balanced out the savoriness of the wings. The catfish was perfectly fried. The breakfast bowl was out of sight! Crispy potatoes covered with crawfish etouffee and chorizo sausage. I had my eggs scrambled but it comes with an over medium. We love this place so much we ate here twice during our stay. Potato egg and cheese tacos - 9/10 - Soo delicious but would be perfect if they had some sauce, potatoes were crispy Sweet potatoes - 8.5/10 - Cooked so well and were quite sweet Avocado toast - 5/10 - Toast was pretty soggy and wasnt very flavorful Mac and cheese - 9/10 - Creamy and delicious HHT pancakes - 9.5/10 - Some of the best and tasty pancakes ive had Honey Hole is such a cute brunch spot with live music and great vibes. Second visit (1yr apart) Dined in for their infamous brunch on Sunday. The hostess is super strict about table reservations so make sure your entire party is there ON TIME. Service was very fast considering how busy it is. Our drinks came out in record time. I highly recommend the my pear lady martini and the peach Bellini! I had to get the lobster etoufee again because it was that good. One of my friends who was there last time as well got her same order as well which was the fish and grits. The peach cobbler pancakes were also rated very high amongst the table. If you get the funnel cake and chicken I suggest ordering the items on a separate plate as the funnel cake did get soggy before hitting the table. The DJ was a nice addition. The only issue was when it came to checking out. Our server asked how we wanted to split the bill ok no problem there. After about 15 mins he finally returned but with no checks. He asked again and we waited patiently. After another 20 mins of us looking around for him confused, another employee asked if we needed help. We let her know we were beginning to run late for our next event as it had now been almost 40 mins trying to check out. It honestly felt like we were begging to pay. read more

First thing first! You want to know the way to my heart? Parking lol. Driving up to this restaurant and seeing a whole parking lot with open spots that are free to park in? OMG..I was sold before I even stepped foot inside. I made a reservation and was seated as soon as I walked in. Love the vibe/ambiance in this place. Music playlist was hitting, decor was elevated, and food was out of this world! I ordered the catfish and grits and babyyy...those grits were the best I've ever had. The catfish was perfection. My only critique is that I wish they gave bigger portions. Y'all....hurry up and get over there NOW! Make a reservation though just in case, but get there. Thank me later! read more

We made a reservation so seating was pretty quick. This place is a really cute brunch place with a bit of crowd around 11-12. Service was okay it took awhile for us to get waters, silverware, extra plates, etc. That wasn't too big of a deal though because they were still nice. We ordered the chicken and biscuits and the chicken and funnel cake. Food was super flavorful and we enjoyed the lemon chicken a lot. The sweetness of the funnel cake and the lemon chicken were a good combo. The wings were good as well but the biscuits and the scones that came with it were dry. We all shared between 4 of us so the price was pretty cheap! I recommend this place if you're looking for a new brunch place in houston! read more
My son found this place and we wanted to try it. Issue right off the bat... no coffee! How do you run out of coffee on Saturday and not get more for Sunday? Anyway... My wife had the peach cobbler pancakes which she absolutely loved! I had the fajitas which were also good. The aioli made all the difference probably better with tortillas that I am not eating right now. lol They did end up getting coffee but I did not have any. Nice place. read more

Yesterday, my sister & I tried this restaurant for the first time because it was close to my restaurant. This is my first visit to Houston and she just relocated here. The food was absolutely delicious. Great portion sizes that left enough for a second breakfast. The restaurant has a whimsical and relaxing atmosphere. The servers appeared to be a little overwhelmed at times but managed as best as they could. Celebrating my baby girl's birthday starting with a great brunch for a brunch and remembered a co-worker had mentioned The Honey Hole. It did not disappoint, the staff was super friendly, the food was great, and the drinks even better! My baby girl had the chicken fried chicken bowl, my wife the avocado toast, my boy another bowl (sorry no picture - he inhaled that thing before I even got a chance), and I had the chops & eggs. The place was spotless, the ambience was warm and inviting, and the fish tank added a nice, relaxing touch to the overall vibe. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. We started off with complimentary biscuits that were soft, sweet, and fresh out of the oven--such a nice touch! The grits came in a generous portion and were topped with a perfectly seasoned catfish that was packed with flavor. The crab gravy was refreshing and added a unique twist. The pork chops were seasoned like something out of a master chef's kitchen--tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The fried potatoes were absolutely divine--crispy and well-seasoned. I did ask for my cheese to be cooked into my eggs rather than placed on top, but it came out the other way. Still good, but a bit heavy on the egg whites for my liking. The drinks were cool, refreshing, and a great complement to the meal. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. Great service, delicious food, and a clean, comfortable setting. I'll definitely be back! The food was great, but the service and staff response were poor. I was charged an automatic 18% gratuity even though the menu says it only applies to bills over $125, and my bill was under that amount (even with tax and surcharge). The disclosure about gratuity is buried in the smallest font at the bottom of the menu, and I was completely unaware of any policy until afterward. The waitress claimed it applied at $75, and when I felt my bill was too high and asked for a printed receipt, she didn't want to give me one at first. Only then did I see the gratuity had been added. The tip screen was also misleading, it didn't show that gratuity was already included, and because of that I accidentally tipped again. The manager did take the second tip off, but he did it with an attitude and told me I should have known their policy instead of acknowledging the mistake. I will never step foot in this restaurant again which it disappointing because the food was good. read more
just OK... my catfish & grits were good; however, my friends ordered caesar w/ shrimp & chicken & biscuits, bit neither of them were satisfied AND caesar salad came out at least 15 mins. after the first two were served; at first music was loud but eventually great 90s jams were played. the floor was strangely slippery while we were thinking & hoping a woman was asked to leave due to her lack of clothing on her but (what is going on, sistas⁉, but that's a conversation for another day & another platform). for perspective, this is in the same strip mall as DSW on Post Oak, but i really don't think they'll be open read more
