Second, they had a live singer and it made the whole atmosphere feel so elevated. That's the kind of touch that turns a good brunch into a great experience. Now let me talk about Gracie because she deserves her flowers. This girl was working the floor like a seasoned pro -- attentive, warm, on top of everything. Fantastic! I stopped in for their happy hour which is EVERY DAY. Wow. I had steak frites for 12 and a romaine salad for 6. There was a superb selection of non alcoholic options. I don't particularly care abt service, the food is what matters to me when I go to restaurants. That said, the service/ambience was great...the food however, is bad. I'm not a picky eater but man, everything we had was awful. We went during happy hour and were able to sample a bunch of dishes. Fielding's Steak was such a treat and a great overall experience. Finding the location and parking was pretty easy - there's a parking garage attached. We did make a reservation but there was plenty of seating on a Sunday evening. Our waiter was amazing and funny, and checked on us throughout. My friend and I did share a steak and ravioli dish, and both of us had drinks. The steak (8oz) was so delicious - the crust was 10/10 and the truffle butter made it all the better. We also ended up getting a candle placed on our table towards the evening which was a nice addition to the vibe. I could totally see someone coming here for a nice dinner before a show or after, a date night, or even a birthday. Great experience overall! read more

Stumble me surprised at how excellent this place is and additionally how beautiful it is. There is free garage self parking and valet. My friend and I decided to try brunch here. Did I mention this restaurant is super cute! We were sat in a sheek elevated booth love it! Also big shouout to our waiter JT! He was awesome and entertaining. And truly an asset to the restaurant as he speaks to the quality of the product the food, the intention with the design and contributes to a great overall dining experience. Let me just say this place works for me!! Caesar salad - 10/10. Large enough to split for 2. It was topped with lots of cheesy. The dressing was quite good Brioche Rolls- 9/10. Rolls were super good. Only issue was the outer edges were warm, but the center was a a bit cool. If I docked more points it would be due to temperature not taste. Chilean Sea bass - 10/10. It melted in my mouth. Had a sweet hlgkaze on top. The risotto it sat on was creamy & yummy & the bok choy good as well & added a nice crunch to the dish . The whole dish just worked!! Truffle fries - 8.5/10. Soft, had a nice truffle taste, parm on top, no ketchup needed. Ribeye steak - was not my dish but hubby said it was really good. Our server was very attentive. It was a very busy night on Friday before Valentine's Day. The main entree took a little while to come out but our server came by & apologized for the wait. The place has a very lively atmosphere. Loud talking, jazz music played at a moderately loud volume. It's upscale, but not stuffy. Valet parking is $8 or there is parking garage basically adjacent in the same plaza. Dining at Fieldings Steak was an incredible experience from start to finish. The use of the valet made parking simple so I never considered alternatives. The restaurant has a contemporary decor highlighted by a large glass wine cellar. Fielding steaks are an excellent quality perfectly seasoned and cooked to right temperature. There are many sauce options to top your steak and I selected the chimichurri and glad I did. However, the Miso Baked Chilean Seabass turned out to be my favorite dish after a quick taste was shared. The staff from host to servers were very friendly and helpful matching the high energy of the dining room. We enjoyed the brief conversation with the owner who provided more information regarding brunch, food and entertainment. This place has been on my list of places to try for awhile. After touring a local museum my niece & I decided to stop by. Parking is ample, valet is available too. We dined in on Black Friday & it was very few ppl there. Sitting at the bar, our bartender was very prompt and kind. I ordered an espresso martini. There had a little kick to it I enjoyed. My niece ordered a mocktail berry drink she loved. The ambiance reminds me of a cute date night spot. For food we both ordered the steak frites. Mine was great no complaints. The owner or manager even came out to check to see if we ok. All in all great first experience my only gripe is the manager making a passive aggressive comment about my nieces attire. My friends and I visited for brunch to celebrate a birthday and were pleased with the ambiance and service. The interior is modern and comfortable with a beautiful curved bar, high ceilings, and plenty of space to enjoy a meal regardless of your party size. Our server was very friendly and attentive which made it easy to ask questions about the menu and place any additional requests or orders. The owner also stopped by to say hello which was nice to see his investment in customer service. We started out with their bakery basket, which comes with several different fresh pastry options, from English muffins to coffee cake, alongside a pecan butter and fresh preserves. Is this definitely a good option for a group as they bake everything fresh in house and it allows everyone to sample as they please. They have a great selection of beverages from coffees, mocktails, seasonal cocktails, wine, beer and prosecco. If you're feeling a little indecisive, they have a mimosa sampler which comes with three sampler pours with a variety of fresh juice. Our group ended up ordering a number of dishes from the French toast to chilaquiles to butter chicken and everyone seemed to enjoy their selections. To me, the meal was a little bit disappointing. I'm vegan and realize that brunch is one of the hardest meals to accommodate, but unfortunately there were almost no options. Often times when I go out for brunch I will end up getting a few sides but these were not cheap ranging from $12-$16 each. I ended up getting the lunch option of baked red beets with the feta removed which included about six slices of next to paper thin beets with Granny Smith apple shreds and teardrop peppers on top. I would consider this to be like a very light appetizer for one person. This was $17. Feeling like I needed a little more food, I ended up adding a side of fries which was $12. This was definitely way overpriced, especially for foods that require minimal preparation. Almost $30 for less than an entire beet and probably one large russet potato is too much in my opinion. Overall not my first pick for food if you have dietary restrictions but I would come back for drinks for maybe an appetizer if they have something vegan on their dinner menu. read more

We have been here before for lunch and it was amazing. The ambiance is great and our server JT was excellent, way beyond any expectation. Always ask for him!! The food this time around was ok at best. Too much extra stuff on things. Crab cake - too much sauce, flavor wasn't great. This is my first time at Fielding's. I joined some friends for happy hour. My friend made a reservation via Yelp. In order to participate, you need to be at the bar, so we sat at one of the booth bar tables. The table legs were like large pillars for a dining table which did not offer much space for your legs. We hit each other's feet at times, and the space is small, even for someone as short as me. It wasn't that busy on a Saturday at 5 pm, but there was a birthday celebration happening in the private room nearby. It got loud at times. There was live music, and the musician had a lovely voice. She played some great nostalgic tunes. Our server informed us that the happy hour end time was moved up from 7 pm to 6 pm, so we basically had less than an hour to decide. It was enough time even with our friend arriving a few minutes late, but it still felt a little rushed. It was cool that they had a mini Halloween-themed menu for drinks and light bites. I treated the Trick Or Treat NA. I was expecting a little more pineapple flavor, but it was a little too tart with the green apple and lemon flavors. I couldn't taste the Seedlip gin alternative at all. It was a little gimmicky with the gummy worms at the top and in the drink. I don't particularly care for gummy snacks, and it wasn't in the description. I had maybe 2 gummy worms. The drink was also gritty from the green apple puree. I ordered romaine salad and okra to start. I enjoyed the romaine salad with miso Caesar dressing which had an abundance of aged Gouda. The okra with Old Bay seasoning would've been great, but I got one that was hard like straw and inedible. They were too heavy handed with the Old Bay seasoning which made it salty. The Tabasco aioli gave it a spicy kick at the end. I like hot sauce but not this brand because it's too vinegary, but I was willing to try it. I had envisioned these great okra fries in London. Sadly, it doesn't compare. I was only slightly hungry after the romaine salad, so I had a few bites of the fingerling bravas. The potatoes were ok but slightly undercooked. Our friend ordered the Witches Cauldron to share from the Halloween menu which was chicken wontons in bone broth with scallions and chili oil. I didn't get to try it, but it looked good. I ended up deciding to order a protein, so I went with the griddle burger over steak frites since my other friend and I wanted to share parmesan truffle fries. The truffle fries had the perfect amount of truffle flavor, and it was loaded with grated Parmesan. The griddle burger was huge, and the ratio of bun to meat varied. The brioche bun tasted good, but the top was more bread than the bottom, so it was hard to keep the double patties stable while eating. Other than the carmelized onions and cheese, it did not have the hot sauce mayo. I'm ok with that, but it needed a condiment. I ate about 1/4 of the burger and took the rest home. It was good reheated in the air fryer. I ordered one more non alcoholic beverage called Herb and Chill. They ran out of the hibiscus & pear syrup, so I couldn't order the Fleur De Pera, which is what I wanted. The Herb and Chill was too sweet from the elderflower tonic, and I did not taste or see the cucumber. Service was great despite everything. I would like to try this place another time for brunch, but for now, I think the taste/quality of the food was just ok. Not worth the high prices. The customer service is exceptional! I had a reservation for 3 and we were running a little late, it was the end of the night and the kitchen was getting ready to close. I wasn't sure if we would be able to keep our reservation but after we called them, they confirmed they were anticipating us. For dinner, I ate the butter chicken and my drink was the Poisoned Apple (n/a) from their Halloween menu. Everything tasted really good. Brenden was our server. My very first experience was so good with JT that I keep coming back here expecting different results... I guess i'm crazy. Waiters are below expectations for the restaurant level/pricing. Some of the bad experiences Ive had include waiter not come back so we ultimately went to the bar to order and not properly guiding the customer in their dietary restrictions (geting pizza with meat when we've repeatedly said one cannot have meat). We have not had good time whenever we sit at a regular table for the last 3 times we visited. Everytime I bring a new friend, no one is impressed to come back. On the other hand, we have great experience at the bar. Bartenders are amazing. Their drinks are delicious; another reason why we keep coming back for happy hour. I can honestly say that this was one of the best meals I've had in quite some time. Ever since dining at Fielding's back in July, I can't stop telling my friends about it. Parking - Valet for $8 or free self parking in the garage. We had a last minute change to our reservation but it wasn't a problem when we checked in at the host stand. We had to wait a few minutes for our table, but we were able to listen to the musician that was performing in the bar area (who was great btw). Our server was Patrick. He was really funny and made good recommendations. He shared his restaurant experience with us and it was very apparent that he has worked in fine dining for quite some time. Verde Margarita - This was one of the featured tequila cocktails for the month of July. The cucumber and cilantro combo sold it for me. This drink was very good and extremely refreshing! Okra - PHENOMENAL! The breading had a nice crispy texture. The Old Bay seasoning was so flavorful and the Tabasco Aioli that accompanied it was delicious and surprisingly not too spicy for me. We had two orders because we loved it so much. Asparagus with Caviar - Delicious! The spears were quite large. The Beurre Blanc was so good. I really enjoyed the pieces of eggs in the sauce as well. I wish there was more caviar because that little dollop wasn't nearly enough! Sirloin - Prepared medium with truffle butter. From the first bite, I was in heaven! It was incredibly tender and extremely flavorful! They use 44 Farms beef just like B&B Butchers which is probably one of the reasons why I loved it so much. I had enough for leftovers the following day and it was still very tender and oh so delicious! Dashi Broccoli - This dish was really good! I loved the peanuts with it and the broccoli had a nice char to it. Unfortunately, I think Patrick thought I wanted to sub the fries (that was supposed to come with the steak) with the broccoli when I had actually wanted the broccoli as a supplement to the meal. No big deal. I tried some of my cousin's truffle fries which were tasty! Madeleines - Patrick gave us an extra one so that we could each enjoy two of them. So kind of him! The desserts were tasty! It was like a soft shortbread sponge cake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. It had the perfect level of sweetness. As we were finishing up, Patrick offered to give us a tour of the restaurant. We declined, but I may have to take him up on his offer next time. We also met some of the other staff members including Eugene and Javier. Everyone was so nice, friendly, and personable! I don't typically mention the facilities in my reviews, but this one is worth mentioning. The soap, lotion, and candles in the ladies room smelled so nice! As we were leaving the restaurant, I realized that they had them for sale at the front near the host stand. Fielding's may be one of my new favorite steakhouses in Houston. What amused me was this huge black pepper that they have there. The owner showed face! He was walking around and greeting everyone. It felt like being at someone's home. The food was so so so. I will need to check out the dinner menu to give it a more accurate review regarding the food. I was a little disappointed. I had leftover sweet Potatoe Biscuit. I came on over to Fieldings for HH with one of my girlfriends, and it happened to also be that they were doing HRW as well. I parked using the complimentary valet that they had available, but there is a parking garage that has self-parking as well. Not sure if the valet is always complimentary! Walked in and it is such a beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. The lighting throughout the dining area and bar were just perfect for a girls night, date night or solo date! I was greeted promptly and we had a reservation, so they asked if I'd like to be seated or wait for my party to arrive. I opted to get sat early on so I could take some photos and view over the menu. I was greeted quickly by a server that filled my water and introduced himself. He let me know about the HRW menu and stated he'd be back to review the specials when the rest of my party arrived. When we asked about the HH, he mentioned it was only in the bar area and not dining part of the restaurant. Since we were there for HH, we asked if we could move over to the bar area, which they happily obliged. We chose one of the booths to sit in, which was nice and cozy and perfect for the HH that we both needed! We were a bit confused on the HRW being in the bar, as we didn't get the menu in this area, but they had some great HH food options, so we chose to go that route. The bar was pretty busy and there were only 2 bartenders on staff that day, so service was a bit slow for us. But we had a great server. She was super nice and helpful. Helped us pick out the items we ordered and drinks as well! I opted for the smokey old fashioned for my first drink, and as she noticed me pickup my phone, she waited for me to get my camera open so I could do the thing that I love doing, which was getting a vid of all the yummy smokiness coming out of the glass as she placed the glass in front of me! It seems like they've put a lot of care in the presentation of the drinks, as the one of the drinks my friend got came out in a beautiful serving vessel (LOL) and was poured at the table. The attention to detail is definitely worth noting! The food we went with was the Fielding's Griddle Burger, Bucatini Pasta, and Truffle Fries! I mean who doesn't love a burger, truffle fries and cacio y pepe pasta as a meal!!! We split everything so we could try both options. When the food came, the BOH manager, I imagine that's who he was, asked if we would like our burger split, and of course as I am taking a photo, he says for us to take our time, he can come back and split it for us! So very thoughtful. He left for just about 90 seconds, and came back to split for us, which was just enough time, so that the food wouldn't get cold, and could be enjoyed hot and fresh! The truffle fries are probably some of my favorite that I've had in city. Just the right amount of salt, truffle and parmesan! There is a balance that is to be had with this type of dish that usually doesn't work out. But they have sorted how to make it happen! We had a great dining experience, and they also had some really great tunes playing. Not playing too loud, but just enough that you could still enjoy your dining experience. The meal was quite expensive and I was actually shocked at the price of the appetizers. Went to Fielding's River Oaks this weekend for brunch after being so impressed by the reviews and couldn't wait to try it. The hype is real!! The interior was set immediately with a solo guitarist playing fun bops as we walked in. We were able to get a table for three without a reservation around 12:30pm on Sunday, though booths and the bar were already pretty full. We started with a mimosa and the boozy breakfast coffee flight, and both were such highlights. The coffee flight was so fun to share ~ distinct flavors ranging from hazelnut to caramel to pecan. Some pours were warm, some cold, and all were surprisingly different. 100% would order again!! I got the lemon cream cheese pancakes, which weren't a reorder for me. The filling made them taste more underdone than fluffy, though that might just be personal preference. One friend had the spicy avocado scramble, which looked great with dark fluffy eggs, but she didn't love the thick chorizo chunks (it would have worked better as ground chorizo I think). The chicken and waffles were the standout dish with an incredible Korean glaze. Service was excellent across the board. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and the host team was so polished. We didn't get to order our food until 30 min into being seated. Which is ended up becoming a 2.5 hour meal. For drinks, I ordered a mocktail - Lychee Breeze which was refreshing and tasted exactly like lychee juice with a little pizazz. We had an amazing date night at Fielding's in River Oaks. It's more like Greenway Plaza but it's all good. We started with two cocktails: the Charred Paloma and the Mezcalito. The Paloma was definitely the winner featuring a nice, smoky taste. We started with appetizers such as the Hamachi Crudo, the Imperial Crabcake and the house rolls. I would recommend to skip on the house rolls. Nothing special. The Crudo was fresh and had a nice grapefruit vinaigrette, while the crabcake's accompanying sauce, took it over the top. For the entrées, we got the 16 ounce New York strip and the 8 ounce Australian Wagyu. Both were amazing, I would have to give the win to the Wagyu. For the sides I recommend you get the Dashi broccoli, whipped potatoes, and the creamed spinach. Even if you skip the potatoes and spinach, do not skip the broccoli. It had a beautiful caramelization to it. We finished the night with some really decent espresso martinis. This restaurant opened in December and it was on my list of places to try. We had reservations and were seated right away. I was surprised how empty the dining room was considering it was a Saturday night. The interior is beautifully decorated and very romantic. We ordered the yellowtail and octopus appetizers. They were both delicious. We ordered the ribeye with crispy fingerling potatoes, and the swordfish special. The swordfish was delicate and cooked to perfection, with a delicious coconut rice. The ribeye was also cooked perfectly. The "crispy" potatoes were not crispy at all, they were more like boiled potatoes with sauce on top. We finished our meal with a delicious bread pudding. Fielding's was a birthday treat for my dad. Our server was kind and knew the menu. I was hesitant to try the scallops but they were sooooo good. Everyone is always talking about eat more fiber, so the lentils drew me in. So tasty! My dad loved his steak and potatoes but the mac lobster was a big miss for a restaurant this nice. I also expected the sides to be a bit bigger for family sized compared to other restaurants of this caliber. Drinks from the bar were nice. I have a hazelnut allergy & quite a bit of menu items featured hazelnuts --even the broccoli which was a bummer. I look forward to trying other menu items. read more

I really liked this spot! High bougie vibes with semi bougie pricing ...for brunch, that is! Not very full at 1030 on a Sunday but by noon, Fielding's was packed! People dress up a little for this place so don't be a bum like yours truly. Everything we had was satisfying! I have a strong alcohol tolerance but that mimosa flight packs a nice punch! Give the Foccacia croque and kimchi chicken and waffle a try! I thoroughly enjoyed the fried okra- for $16 I knew it had to be a hit! Ample portion size...just needed a little salt, which I requested but I'm not going to "ding" them for it...I'm looking to lower my diastolic BP. Place is pretty and you can tell they're really trying to be a high end restaurant. I was charged $39 for a GLASS of SB. I couldn't believe I got bamboozled like that. I ordered a glass of NZ Sauvignon blanc and the waiter talked me into a blind taste test so I picked the French one apparently. $39 later I was so annoyed. Especially since I waited over 25 minutes for it. Food was ok. Got the 7oz filet (came out looking like a 5 oz). My friend got the bolognese and she said it was decent. Didn't get dessert. Also, the cuisine/menu is confusing...not sure what they're actually going for. They had a Spanish tapa on the appetizer menu and butter chicken on the entree selection. There was a live performer near the bar which was cool but he didn't really fit the vibe of the restaurant. Cool place but too much competition for nice restaurants in Houston to eat here again. Houston must have heard my cries the last two years because the new restaurants have actually been serving up delicious food, excellent service and providing a lovely ambiance. I had Fielding's on my list and visited them on a Sunday for brunch. They are located at the Novel, with valet and self parking options in the garage. Anytime there is free self-parking, I'm pleased. We didn't have a reservation but when we got to the host stand, the GM JT welcomed us like we were old friends and offered us a tour of the restaurant prior to seating us. We got to meet the kitchen staff, see how the food is made, and learned a ton about their bourbon and old fashions. Even the owner popped in and chatted with us a bit. After the tour, JT walked us over to our table and Jose, our server came by with some menus. At first glance, I wanted it all. Every menu item (I could actually eat) looked appetizing so I ordered with my eyes. We started with the cinnamon roll, then for our meal, I got the crab avocado toast and she got the steak. For dessert, as if the cinnamon roll wasn't enough, we got the waffle. Let me just say that there was nothing that we received that wasn't a HIT!!!! Had a lovely girls' brunch at Fielding's River Oaks this past Saturday. They offer valet parking, but you can also self-park in the adjacent garage, which is convenient. The interior is stylish and contemporary, with sleek yet comfortable furnishings--a mix of leather seating, polished wood tables, and industrial-style lighting that creates a chic yet inviting atmosphere. We heard they make their pastries in-house, so we started with an almond croissant and a blueberry muffin alongside our lattes. The almond croissant had great flavor but was a bit sweet for my taste. The blueberry muffin, on the other hand, was moist, fresh, and free of any artificial flavors, which I really appreciated. For our main dishes, my friend and I split the Soft Scrambled and the Chimichurri Steak since we couldn't decide on just one. The Soft Scrambled was a standout--the sweetness of the potato pancake paired beautifully with the salty lox and capers, creating a well-balanced bite. We ordered the Chimichurri Steak medium, and it was cooked perfectly. They even brought us some hot oil on the side, which was a nice touch. Service was excellent--our server checked on us multiple times, and our water glasses were never less than a third full. While I really enjoyed the experience, I do think the prices are on the higher side. The $8 pastries, for example, are noticeably smaller than what you'd get at similar spots like Common Bond, which makes the price a bit questionable. I have been here twice. Once for Sunday brunch and the other time for .25 cent martinis. The service was great for brunch. Our waitress forgot about us when we went for lunch. We had to ask for her several times. The food itself is different. Every dish comes with a twist which I wasn't a fan of. The martinis are straight up or dirty dirty - additional to add a flavor. The limit is 2 which I didn't drink my 2nd martini because I didn't like them. They have valet or self park in the garage. read more

Fielding's River Oaks is such a gem. Everything I tried here was spot on. The chicken and waffles were crispy, juicy, and super comforting, while the crab avocado toast was fresh, light, and packed with flavor. Definitely a great mix of indulgent and refreshing. I also ordered a carajillo and it was insanely good, so creamy and smooth that I'd come back just for that. To top it off, dessert completely blew me away. We originally wanted French toast but the server recommended the lemon cream cheese pancake which was unique, tangy-sweet, and literally melted in my mouth. Service was friendly and the vibe was relaxed but polished, making it the perfect place for a brunch or casual dinner. We met here at Fielding's River Oaks for our June happy hour for TYP Houston houston. It was so cool meeting the owner at the restaurant and even our new director of TYP. They allowed us a sample pretty much the entire appetizer menu and everything I had was truly delicious. Even the most simple of menu items had a burst of flavor in my mouth. I would say overall an average for all the appetizers were a solid 8.5 out of 10. I also had the pizza and though it was just pepperoni it was so hot and flavorful. 9/10 Fieldings is beautiful inside and gives you a nice and luxuriously minimalist aesthetic. They keep everything clean and the servers have so much personality and spark. That was such a highlight. Cary, the owner is so vibrant and he kept coming to me to check if I liked everything and seeing how my experience was. And it wasn't like how most owners or managers come say two words and then leave. He stayed and had a conversations with me and I can say I truly truly appreciate that! Those are the owners that are successful and the owners that care about their businesses! If you know me you know I truly harp on the customer experience ANYwhere. Everyone here was insanely friendly. It was very unpacked for a lunch hour during the work day which honestly was kinda nice. The menu is a crazy mix of Italian, French, and Indian. Want pasta - want butter chicken - Foie Gras? They got it. The pastas we ordered were pretty good. The chicken in the gnocchetti was very tender but the sauce had a funk I didn't fully enjoy. I loved the radiatori but my husband thought it was a bit too salty. We both thought that the meat to pasta ratio was superb. So much meat / so little time. The crepe was very good and comes with a show. Although not my top pasta place, I was intrigued enough to want to try more things. read more

Hot new spot! Let's start with the service, the experience was phenomenal. Before we even got to the restaurant, we realized we accidentally made the reservation for the Montana location and live in Houston. The staff was able to work some magic and get us seated, even though they were completely booked for vday. Our waitress Brittany, red hair, was super friendly and gave us great recommendations. We came on Valentine's Day and despite the vday rush, all of the staff really made it special. The food was another level. I LOVED the grilled pulpo. I found myself scraping the bowl to get everything out. My date asked if we needed to order another . He had the steak and it was so juicy, tender, and flavorful. I had the pork bowl, it was good, but out the normal food I would order. So I might not reorder, but I'd say try it if that's your ham. We opted out of desert, but can't wait to go back. read more
