Chicken marsala without the pasta, substituted veggies instead.

Tonight I dined at Distasio's for the first time. The waitress Dee did a great job of introducing me to the history of this place and why locals love it so much. She said they get really great cuts of steak, and this is the go to place for steaks. The ambience is pretty casual with high ceilings, nice art, fireplace. Music tonight is big band jazz and oldies. Very nice. I have been craving chicken marsala so that is what I ordered. It was served with carrots, broccoli, onion, and snow peas, topped with fresh grated Parm. The chicken, garlic, sauce and mushrooms are so delicious and flavorful! I've savored every bite slowly. They have an extensive gluten-free menu, including gluten-free desserts! I will be back to try the halibut.

This rating is between a 3 and 4. Ken, the owner is part of the family that owns Rosa's etc. I love Rosa's, the ambiance, food, prices, here is quite different and quiet. I made a reservation and we were seated promptly in a booth. We were given menus, water and bread. Our server was Emily, she answered all our questions and was quite nice. I tried a white wine I didn't care for, so asked for a certain red, they were out of it. Asked for another one, Merlot also out. So picked a Robert Mondavi Merlot and said ok, we would like a bottle. Didn't even look at the bottle at first, then noticed it was a Cab. It was good, but we thought we were drinking a Merlot?? She ended up taking it off the bill but we did not feel comfortable with that so she put it back on. My husband and I both had the nights special, penne, vodka sauce and chicken, it was ok. We both got soup or salad with the dinner picked the salad. Quite good, with cute carrot flower, cucumber etc. Ken the owner was very friendly, talking to us and others. A lot of locals come here, as prices are very reasonable. We will go back, my husband wants to try the pizza. I saw quite a few people picking up to go orders.

The food and service was great. Great tasting Italian food and prices reasonable for dinner. This is a family owned restaurant and their sauce was amazing. The owner even came by to see how everything was going. I would recommend them as a great tasting quality authentic Italian dinner. We are definitely going to visit them again when we ate in the area

I'll be honest, the name threw me for a loop as I was expecting this place to be by the water - it certainly was not but none the less, it was a cute place, romantic, and pretty quiet but I can also see this place being the hub for family birthdays and friend get togethers as well. There was ample seating inside and outside. We had come on a Saturday night in January and we were seated right away. I noticed there were a few tables with 'reserved' signs on them so during busier months being able to call ahead and have your table reserved is always a plus. All the employees we had the privilege of meeting were lovely and the food was pretty good. My fiancé and I enjoyed both of our pasta dishes, although it was your standard Italian food, a step up from Olive Garden but nothing too spectacular. The bruschetta on the other hand was a must, so delicious! The bread was thick and the mixture was plentiful but you better eat it fast because it did become soggy pretty quickly. We ended our night with a cannoli and again, just your standard cannoli. All in all, I think eating here once was enough but if I'm ever in the area and craving some bruschetta, I know where to go.

Great old school Italian restaurant. Went here on a Friday night. Not too busy but had reservations. I had the half and half spaghetti and meat raviolis. My wife had lasagna. Both very good. Came with warm bread. We brought a bottle of wine and paid reasonable corkage of $8. Great meal and nice decor

Warm, welcoming, and utterly delicious. The manicotti was divine, the service felt like family, and the spumoni ice cream was the perfect ending. A five-star experience from start to finish.

We were in SLO and driving back to Cambria and decided to have an early dinner In Morro Bay. I was craving Italian and remembered seeing the sign for Distasio's so we headed there. We weren't sure what we would find or how the meal would be. Turns out we had a delicious meal, good service and a nice pleasant dinner. My wife had the chicken marsala and it was very good. She was satisfied and would order it again. I ordered the brociole which is something you typically wouldn't find on an Italian restaurant menu. I had it years ago when a grandmother of a friend made it for a family gathering. This brociole was pretty close to that one from the past. It's a thin piece of pounded beef sirloin and rolled with spices and breadcrumbs, tied together and cooked in a tomato based sauce. The hours of simmering creates a decadent sauce and the meat is extra tender. Wow!!! We had some Chianti and dessert and had a great time. We will definitely be back. It wasn't busy because we were there just after they opened but by the time we left, it was getting busy. I can't wait to go back for more of their simple but delicious food.

Food was amazing and not over priced, server and service was awesome, this place is a gem! I highly recommend if you're in the Morro Bay area!

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.

When we entered the dog-friendly patio with our little Goldendoodle, Bailey, a large dog seated at the table closest to the only patio entrance lunged toward her and bared its teeth. They immediately spoke with the owners, who moved their dogs farther under the table, and after our meal, the owner's father went above and beyond by opening the rope barriers so we could exit another way and avoid walking past them again. Both the father and son were incredibly kind, understanding, and accommodating, which we really appreciated. Once we were settled, we were able to enjoy the beautiful patio. It's a quaint waterfront spot with gorgeous views, a relaxing atmosphere, and the perfect setting to enjoy fresh seafood. Bailey was promptly brought a complimentary bowl of water, and we loved seeing so many other well-behaved dogs enjoying the patio. It's easy to see why this restaurant has such a great reputation for being dog friendly. We ordered the King Salmon Quesadilla special, and it was absolutely delicious. The LOADED seafood chowder wasn't really good, it was DELICIOUS!! Our server said it's actually award winning! We will definitely return for their chowder. So flavorful and creamy! Perfect! Our server, Kaitlyn, she was super sweet and also the best. Very thoughtful in thinking of everything. Thank you, Kaitlyn! Morro Grill's reviews looked pretty good so we're looking forward to returning to try their other menu items. Especially their homemade carrot cake that Kaitlin recommended but we were too full. They're located upstairs but they have an elevator if you need it. They have indoor and outdoor seating (right on the water). The outside can get a little warm on sunny days but not as hot as the Central Valley! Morro Grill has only been here a year but we hope they'll last many more, for our return trips!

Mostly we were excited about the mid 90's, early 2000's music playlist that included Biggie; Bone, Thugs, & Harmony; Craig Mack; and some classic R&B joints I'm failing to remember right now. All this while we enjoyed two very cold beers - Michelob ultra for the babe and a Big Sur Double IPA on tap at 9.6 ABV for me. All this, paired with the wings, which were outstanding BTW, and it made for a great stop. Other things to know. -Order of 12 wings can be split into two flavors (choice of buffalo, bbq, or mild). We went with buffalo and bbq extra crispy. -The buffalo have an added pepper seasoning that we loved -Bathrooms are downstairs (there's also an elevator) -2 of the 3 TV's at the bar were not working (biggest critique) -There is outside seating with view of the rock and a beautiful sunset if you time it right (we did, but it was a bit hazy due to the fog or overcast or whatever you call it) -Also, we didn't try any other food so we can't vouch for much else but everything people had looked good and we didn't hear any complaints. TRY IT OR DIET FINAL WORD Definitely try it. Matter of fact, we're going to take our own advice and try it again later today!
