DISTINCTIVE RESTORATION IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE LAST 10 HONEST CONTRACTORS HERE IN THE VALLEY My real estate agent told me to get the smoke smell out of my house and I needed 2 air purification machines to clear a "smoke" smell from my home. Was not sure where the smoke smell was coming from, but I needed to have it eliminated fast! Called Distinctive Restoration late Wednesday and the young lady said she could get a technician out first thing in the morning with 2 machines. Julian Cazares came out this morning and we discussed the smell and where it was coming from. He asked a lot of questions and I showed him some papers I had from my HVAC company. I had the same problem in February and forgot about it until today when Julian was asking me questions. Julian was very polite and took his time asking me different questions about where the smell was coming from and for how long. Julian did some research on his phone and told me to have my HVAC company come back out as the smell was coming from the fan unit on the roof. After spending about 45 minutes with me talking about the odor he left, and there was no charge for the service call. I had a check written out for $500. for the 24 hour rental for the 2 machines, and the thanked me and said it was a "no charge" call. The All Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning, my HVAC company, came out about 1 hour later and fixed the problem with the fan that is on my roof. I am under contract with them, so there was no charge from them either. The annual service contract I have with them is the smartest money I have spent in a long time. My relator called a company they had used in the past but they couldn't get here with 2 machines until next Wednesday or Thursday, and wanted $1,000. for the 24 hour rental. I found Distinctive Restoration on the internet and was thrilled when they said they could bring 2 machines out today. I sent my realtor a text with this company's contact information. They were happy to get it as they often need to have air cleaned in a house they are trying to sell. Use this company. I went back and looked at their web-site and they do a lot of other things besides get smoke odors out of the air. This is a well managed company with happy helpful employees. read more

Called around for quotes to steam clean porcelain tile floors. Distinctive was willing to come to inspect what was necessary (unlike one place I called who quoted a very cheap price but couldn't guarantee it) and they were the most reasonably priced which they backed up in writing so there were no surprises. They answered all my questions and explained the process, what the result would be and what furniture I should move or pieces they could work around. Attached photo of kitchen floor compares how it looked before and post the job. Had some fireplace ash blow around in the drying process that landed on a bright yellow chair. They came out a few days later to do upholstery cleaning without charge and it looks like it did when it was new more than 5 years ago. Try them - I know I will again. read more

We moved to Cathedral City from the midwest, and one of the charms of the house we bought were the saltillo Mexican pavers. They looked dirty, and not being familiar with this sort of tile, thought that all they needed was a good scrub. We soon learned a lot of saltillo tile and found out that they need to be periodically stripped and resealed. The floor looked perptually filthy and in the family room, the previous owner had a pad under a rug that fused it's oil down into the tile. So we had a filthy rug pad imprint. And so started my quest to find a company to do it. I had FOUR different companies come out to give me an evaluation and estimate. Why so many? Because, while slick salespeople, none of them told me anything that made sense. Most of them told me that the floor would be cleaner, but the imprint of the rug pad would not come out. None of them mentioned using stripper to get down to the tile, and only talked about scrubbing machines and steam. I then found, via a recommendation, Distinctive Floor Care. Erik came out and explained the the stripping options and process. He offered to have part of the team, Jacob and Tristan come out to do a square of tile to demo the process. The price Erik quoted was fair and in line with the other quotes and substantially lower than one other company. Jacob and Tristan and the rest of the team moved furniture, and were very careful and considerate during the process. These men are not just some unskilled guys who refinish your floor, but they are true craftsmen and artists in every sense of the word. They care deeply about the quality and about the homeowner. The outcome of the floor is nothing short of remarkable. We can't believe how beautiful the saltillo tile looks. We also had the team clean and seal the grout of the porcelain tile that runs through the rest of the house, and their work was as excellent as it was on the saltillo Mexcian pavers. I called Distinctive Restoration to clean my tile and grout which was in need of serious help. Daniel came out and provided me with a consultation and did some testing of the grout and tile. He pointed out some things in the grout that may affect how clean it could get and then measured the area to be cleaned (1534 sq. ft.) and gave me a written price, which never varied. I was impressed. He came out the next Tuesday with an assistant and they spent two days cleaning my tile and grout. They moved all my furniture and did a fabulous job. My house never looked better; all the furniture returned to the original positions. Daniel says he likes to under promise and over deliver! They sure did in this case. In addition, both gentlemen went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied and answered all my questions. I will be calling them again when I have other cleaning work, and you should too. But we got in touch again and discussed what I wanted to be done. This man delivered I am really surprised the work he did. My tile were awful from the heat and sprinklers spraying water on them all these years. Never maintained them in 30 years. But they were due for a facelift and good thing I found this company thru Yelp reading his positive reviews with his past customers. The work they did brought back my original tile again. They look beautiful compared to what they looked before. I am more than happy. We originally met this company as a result of a very bad experience with one of their competitors in town for a water leak that led to demolition. Kenneth from distinctive restoration and Anthony from Vincere Industries (who we learned are sister companies) and their employees came in and made sure that we were taken care of and that everything was done correctly and even fixed some of the issues left behind by the other company. The fact that both companies worked together took all the pressure and stress out of the process. We knew we were in good hands and that the job would get done. Anthony, Kenneth and his company knew the stress and concern we had and were there every step of the way. Unlike the previous company distinctive Restoration and Vincere Industries were very patient and professional. They were always available and ready to answer questions. Cole and mike did an outstanding job cleaning and restoring our travertine floors. The results were like night and day -nicely cleaned and rough patches honed and restored. Our neighbor suffered a major water leak while he and we were both away from our residences. Our neighbor called us while we were in Northern California to tell us what had happened but didn't know if we were affected. Since Distinctive Restoration was already in his unit cleaning up after all of his water damage we asked him to let Distinctive Restoration in to our unit to inspect our side. Eric, the owner of Distinctive Restoration inspected our unit with his project manager CJ, and then worked with me by phone to help me understand the damages, the cleanup process and how to get everything back to its original state. Eric was knowledgeable about the entire process, making suggestions on ways to best work with the insurance company and even recommended a contractor for the restoration work. Now for the final product: The place looks like it was never flooded. The two rooms involved have been restored back to their original state and all the while, Eric and CJ were great to work with. We'll keep this pithy. Our grout was actually in decent to good condition. Mainly tile just needed to be cleaned. Not in bad condition as Distinctive and another couple companies had mentioned. One shouldn't have to go over with tile/grout cleaner days after initial cleaning. Grout actually became darker in some grout lines and never got back to color it was before cleaning commenced. Also had to go over tile again is some areas. We took a paper towel with water and rubbed areas on the tile that we could see were still dingy. We should have been leery when the company website under testimonials had no testimonials. Our HOA recommends a tile care company that's been in business for 25 years in Coachella Valley in the Preferred Vendor list. Monumental difference in yelp reviews and testimonials as well. Distinctive never called back to see what we thought of the results from second time they had to come out. read more

When our condo in Palm Springs flooded due to a supply line break in the kitchen, we worked with a major mitigation service. My washer blew a hose when I wasn't there and I came home to a HUGE mess! Even though it was late, Erik answered the phone and dispatched a crew to my house immediately. Besides getting all the water up and carpet and tile cleaned up, they moved my washer and dryer out of the little closet it's in and made sure that the walls were dry before moving anything back in. They put dryers on the other side of the wall in addition to drying out the closet itself and left them there an additional day - just to make sure. Great job! read more
