This place cost us so much money for such a poor service, this one star doesn't even deserve it. First of all we purchased a $600 table and we were given a table worth half the price because one of their promoter promised it to somebody else like that's suppose to be our problem given that it's our first time here we are never coming back and will never recommend it to anybody who wants to come here and celebrate because that's not what we got but headache and turned every fucking down and killed everybody's vibe, worst of all it was do my sister's 25th birthday. D30 has been hosting our art showcases for the last 7 months (First Wednesdays) and I really can't begin to describe the level of professionalism they've provided for us. Each of their staff members have been incredibly helpful and friendly. From what I've observed, the manager Dave is very well liked by his staff. He has been nothing but accommodating since the beginning of our contract with them. You can tell he takes pride in his place of work as well as in his employees. As I said, all of their staff members have been wonderful to work with, but there is one who has gone over and beyond. Shane--jack of all trades, has been such an asset during our shows at d30. Without his knowledge and expertise, I sincerely doubt our shows would run as smoothly as they do. Working with one artist can be challenging, but working with 20+ who each have their own vision is a huge feat! Came here on a Saturday night with the girls because my friend got us on the guest list. Overall, we had a fab time! The venue is nice. Swanky, modern feel. It's pretty small, more like a loung with a decent size dance floor towards the back of the club. Lighting is cool, decor nothing too fancy, I especially like the counters they had on all the walls. They were just thin enough to set your drink down while you want to boogie on down. The bartenders were all super nice and fast! Can't beat that when you're at a full bar trying to get a drink. The bouncers were also friendly and helpful. My friend fell and one of them helped her up, chivalry is not dead. The best things about this place was the music! We loved the mix of house with some hip-hop here and there. I don't know who was spinning but they were getting us on the dance floor. I would say the crowd is a mix of people. Mind you, we are now in our 30's and I didn't feel old here at all. People were mostly friendly, and it was a good place for my girls and I to let loose! This place is great -- good vibe, good music / dj's (I believe the ones I heard were "in house" resident dj's.. very fun time dancing to their tunes)... no ghettoness to be had here, and the drinks were a reasonable price (except shots.. they were a bit pricey). All in all, a great time and I'd definitely take my friends visiting from out of town here again - they loved it the first time after all! Oddly snooty. D30 was on my list of 30 to try in midtown, and while I went with all blank-slate and wide-eyed willingness to embrace whatever met me, I did not expect the chill. Long story short: not the friendliest people. $15 cover for ladies? Arbitrary letting in of some people free vs. charging others. I don't get it. Been 'round the world to many choice places more in demand than Sacramento and have never been met with such uppity attitude at the door. Once in: it was decent. A fun night. Typical music. I've only been here once and my friends and I got bottle service, which was totally worth $300! This club is really nice and clean, but maybe because it's still new. When you get in there the place looks small but after a while, it's not as small anymore, it's actually pretty roomy. Our bottle service was awesome! We had our own booth, own cocktail waitress, and own "bodyguard." You can leave your belongings in there and you know that it'll be safe. The only downfall is that if you look at all out of it or even trip on yourself on accident, you'll instantly get kicked out. I got kicked out after an hour of being in there because the guy outside saw me "trip," when I actually tripped on the uneven pavement (hello!!!! i'm wearing heels dude!) BUT I LOVE THE MUSIC!!!! I came here a couple nights ago with some girlfriends. We got in free with our name on the guestlist and by coming in before 11. The bouncer gave us a sticker for our IDs that allowed us to get in free from now on, which was cool. The place is diverse with good music and a decent dance floor. It wasn't overcrowded and coat service is 2 bucks. My only complaint is that it is not that big. read more

The booths on the side were for those who paid for a table and bottle service. So no place to sit. Really a club and not really what we were looking for. I came here for Pierce Fulton and was not disappointed. It's definitely not the size of an LA club, but it's fantastic for Sacramento and the music/lineups/ticket prices are usually pretty good. I started coming here on Wednesday nights over the summer. For a Wednesday, it gets pretty packed. Usually there are special guest DJs. I rather like this club, the dance floor is big enough to accommodate a lot of people but still small enough where it doesn't look like the place is empty. They have different nights that play different styles of music ( definite bonus since I'm a house head). I don't think there is a dress code but not a place you want to come looking trashy. The drinks are always good here. A little pricy but hey, it's trendy right? Overall, defiantly a regular spot for me to hit up as long as I don't have to pay to get in. read more

I LOVE this place! Music: I came here for the Morgan Page concert so the music was definitely awesome! Fantastic sound system and spacious dance floor. Drinks: Quite Strong and a little on the pricier side. I think it was 9-10 for an AMF? Don't quote me though. Decor: absolutely gorgeous! Very sleek and clean. Clientele: The people here are a bit older (young professionals age 24+) but everyone was extremely friendly and there were no riff-raff. I would definitely come here again! read more

After walking pass the line for Social/Cosmo/Dive Bar...the line for D-30 wasn't bad. We were there around 10:30 and stood in line for about 5-10mins. After paying, we were greeted by an associate who offered us free glasses of champagne and strawberries. It must have been some kind of promotion they were doing that night. As you walk in, there's a long bar on your right and vip booths on your left. I don't remember seeing any seating for the rest of the folks. There were a decent amount of crowd there. The dance floor is towards the back of the long building, and it wasn't that big but we had room to dance. I saw a variety of people, and most look like they were in their mid 20's. Like most clubs, there was a tad more guys than girls. Nevertheless, my friends and I enjoyed dancing to the top 40 hiphops. I would visit this place again, but get on the guestlist and not pay the $15 cover. read more

Loved the setup with booths, artwork and sound system quality. But, overall experience boring...the house music repeated the same song for 6hrs alternating tempo occasionally. People completely stopped dancing and settled with raising their hands and maybe jumping. People can only vibe off of each other for so long without sacramento worthy music. read more

i have only been three times, but i enjoyed myself each time. first and last time there was for girls night...the second time was in mixed company. drinks are reasonable. the dj does a pretty good job and well, there's a big dance floor. the crowd is usually mixed: genders, ages, ethnicities...and i have never had to pay for entry, so i'm down with that. it deserves at least a try if you're ever in sactown, in my humble opinion. read more

Came here last night for Steve Aoki and WOW!! District 30 really went big!! This a completely new style for Sac and I LOVE it!! This is just what K street needed. The club itself did not disappoint at all. When they said they were bringing Vegas and LA to Sac they weren't joking. It was much larger than it looks in the pictures. The bar looks fantastic, the booths are comfy and the layout is perfect for the space. The decor in general is exactly what you would expect from a higher end club. Music: Before I came, I read all of these reviews about the place and they always emphasized the sound system. So I had really high hopes and to be honest, it was everything they had promised and more! Also, I Love House... so I have a feeling this is going to be my new spot. Now onto the important stuff.. the drinks!! They are really really reasonably priced. $7 for a whiskey sour that wasn't skimping on the whiskey. I can definitely handle that. Service: The table service here is phenomenal. We were out of cranberry juice and literally within a minute and without asking there was a new thing of juice on the table. Also, the bar never really seemed backed up. They took my order and got me my drinks in the same amount of time that it would take other clubs to acknowledge my existence. And last but not least the security. I have had bad experiences with security and I'm not even a rowdy, disrespectful girl. But these guys were not only really friendly but they were really fun (while still doing their job of course). Overall, two big thumbs up to District 30! But then a very rude security/doorman told me and my friend to leave the line because we were not with any girls. After being stubborn and not leaving he got another security guard and they threatened to call the cops. Went to District 30 because I love good music however I was completely shocked about my experience. I watched a man get verbally aggressive with my friend, when I approached to see what was wrong he grabbed me by the wrist and pushed me down. I have never felt so threatened and frankly scared in my life. My biggest issue is not him putting his hands on me but that the Bouncer told me, "he's friends with the owner and I won't kick him out so if you want to leave you can." I'm disgusted and appalled, I feel like that man and that place took my power and I recommend that women do not go there. read more

Attended a friend's very VIP graduation party here, they reserved 3 booths.... which made me wonder, if we were VIP, why weren't we treated like them? the "bouncer" at the edge of the section barely controlled randoms coming in, the cocktail server never once asked the empty-handed patrons if they would like a lil somethin somethin.... and if you're going to tout yourself as an upscale club, or, excuse me, "ultra lounge," then for freaking crying out loud, STICK TO YOUR DRESS CODE. Nothing ticked off the men in our group like being told they had to dress like men when they were surrounded like men dressed like douchebags... wait, that came out wrong... what I meant to say was that if you post standards, implement them across the board, as some of us felt that is was racial profiling... there. I said it. I went there. What?! It's TRUE... you let the frat fools waltz in there in their affliction gear, yet you post no t-shirts... weird. I could have sworn those yutzes were wearing bedazzled t-shirts.... In any case... tis suckage. Your DJ happened to completely weird me out with a mash up of Erykah Badu and Beastie Boys... wth?? He also played a LOT of the same songs over again... that might work for the drunk fools, but for those of us who actually enjoy dancing more than drunken swaying, it was way too obvious. I have to say, I definitely have had better times at D30 in its earlier stages. Now... it's just OK. Recently came here with some friends and the experience was just OK. I didn't drink too much so I was able to observe a lot. One thing that stood out to me tremendously was how the front bouncer checking ID's would let certain people in for free (both guys and girls) without being on GL and others to the door where you would have to pay. This is where I was able to see first hand the racism some of my friends have talked about when going out. I watched the bouncer let in white and asian girls in for free without being on the GL and had the group of black girls behind them go to the door where they would have to pay. Some of them had an awkward look on their faces as to why they were being sent to a different door. The girls all ended up coming back out of the door and were going to leave. The bouncer then asked why they were not staying. One girl told him it was because he let all their other friends in for free and not them. It was such an awkward thing to witness. I don't know. Aside from watching that happen. The energy at D30 is not as it once was and just reminded me why I end up flying out of town to go out and enjoy a better night life. read more

I saw on their website that the club opened at 9:30pm. Get there at 9:50pm and this bouncer guy with an attitude tells me they're not open yet. I ask how much to get in and he says $20. I ask if he knows where an ATM is and he starts telling me about another club next door I can go to. I ask, "Do you not want me to come inside your club?" He says, "Why do you say that?" "Because I asked you where an ATM is and you're trying to get me to go somewhere else. I'm meeting my friend here and I want to go here". I told him I read that the bouncers were rude and he seemed surprised I told him that. I then told him I would be back and waited for my friend. D30 is an okay club. I like that occasionally they'll bring artist like Cazzette, MOTi, R3hab, Noisecontrollerz etc. (Person who owns D30 also owns Ruby Skye in SF) Their sound system here in my opinion is okay, it is super super loud though. Last time I was here was for Noisescontrollerz and my ears were ringing for a few days after =( But the speakers couldn't handle the reverse bass. Ear plugs highly recommended. Their drinks here are okay, it's either fairly dirty or pretty good, depends on what you like I guess. Dance floor isn't that big, kinda small but it's not bad. Staff can either be super friendly or not at all. I like they have free tickets for artist sometimes (if you get a free ticket you would have to get there by a certain time), but their ticket price isn't too bad. Decent to come here for EDM nights but for clubbing, I'd probably pick a different place in Sac. read more

Terrible! That one word describes the experience we had at this sad excuse for a nightclub this past weekend. To begin, I have no clue what qualifications this staff has but I am sure 'organization' is not one of them. The story begins by us renting a booth for a birthday. It started out smooth and inviting, but that's where the pleasant-ness ended. We were originally told that 8 people can be in the booth, but we were able to invite all of our friends and family to be put on the guestlist. Perfect, we thought. BUT the night of, they call and say, "Um, sorry but we can't have everyone on your guestlist." WTF?! To top it off, they attempt to say, only 10 people on your list. NO! Straight up, NO. Can't happen. We're buying a bottle and booth at your place, and now, the night of you try and tell me all these people you gave me approval to invite I now have to say, 'Sorry, thanks for coming out for my birthday but please step to the left and pay the cover charge.' We were able to negotiate half of our list, but that already left a sour taste in my mouth. Then comes time where we are there at the club. And, what a surprise, the cover charge for those on our list was supposed to be $5, which is what we were told on the phone because of some "special DJ." Fine, $5, is OK. Until you add $10 more dollars to that $5, making this crap $15 AND you're on the guestlist. Man, I love how all these clubs try so hard to be Las Vegas. So anyhow, suck that one up too...apologize to our friends/family later, let's just get inside here and enjoy the night. So we finally get inside and feel like we're having some fun. Then 2 hours later, we have every bouncer who thinks they put on a cheap suit and an earpiece and think they're Secret Service huddling around our booth accusing us of "stealing another booth's bottle." Now what the F@$K! Say WHAT! I'm sitting in this booth, not understanding why the hell they were kicking us out and nobody could give a straight story. I have my own damn bottle! I don't need anyone elses! But you know how these rent-a-steroid bouncers are, they are told a command and they proceed. I am completely LIVID at this point and cannot believe what was going on. We end up outside, everything is a mess, staff from everywhere trying to say what the story was but all I'm trying to talk to is the manager, who is nowhere to be found. Then I get this fat chocolate dip bouncer trying to tell me what happened, and this whole time he's wearing this parka and I'm like 'were you even inside?'; 'No, but that's the story...'... LOL these peope are a bunch of jokes! Everytime I ask a simple question, they walk away and say I'm no longer talking to you. SMH! This place is worse than terrible. I love how these new clubs remodel an old spot, slap some bright lights on the outside, and call it "upscale" and then think they're Vegas or New York when their staff are a bunch of the same idiots working the other Sac joints with no sense, no class, and no service. But it's fine, Karma is real, and I'm sure this place will be closed down in a few months. read more

It must be the bartenders who have been really nice, which goes a long way. Also the sound system here is legit. Since the place is small, the dance floor is small, but that sound system gets the place bumping. I think this place is great for a small group of friends. In reality it's a 3.5 District 30 is probably one of the nicer places to hit up in Sacramento but it's still not the most amazing place ever either. The location itself is still pretty small but has a decent-sized dance floor. I went for Halloween and was impressed with the decor and it was packed with all sorts of characters (literally). The music is good but the DJ started to play the more recent, more upbeat stuff at the end of the night when it was really empty. The reason I can't give it a true 4 is because I think if you don't have a table, I don't know how you'd have a good time. It's so narrow by the bar and the booths and it gets so full in there that I don't know where people who DON'T have a table go. Our friend had a table, so we were able to escape the narrow areas near the bar and stay within close proximity of the dance floor at the same time. Worth checking out but make sure you get a table - it'll make the experience way better, I'm sure! read more

It's New Years Eve and within 20 minutes of signing a $985 check, they came and cleared our table of all beverages and said it was due to the fact that we did not have any more alcohol. When I said the alcohol was mixed into the orange juice, they said that was not allowed. Yet that was not put in writing anywhere nor were we told that when we were seated. We headed over here Saturday night after a late dinner. First off the music as soon as you walked in the door was way too loud and extremely ratchet! After I was able to get my hearing back and push by a bunch of 21 year old drunk girls, I reached the bar to order a drink. I asked if the could make me a Negroni (the bartender looked at me like a deer in headlights). I looked around and realize that this is probably not the place to order such a drink, so I decided to order my go to, an Old Fashioned. He laughed at me and said we don't make those "fancy ass drinks here. I can pour you a beer and a shot, if you want anything else your f*** out of luck". I asked to speak to the manager and he pointed to a guy who didn't look a day over 21 over in the corner who looked like he was videotaping the drunk girls?! I told him never mind and my friends and I went next door (The Dive Bar) where we had been Thursday night. We had to pay a cover which I was more than happy to do just to get away from that debauchery of a space next door. With the cover you get a free drink that they call the "mermaid splash". I ordered this drink from the cute little girl behind the small bar. Bless her heart it was disgusting! So luckily I found the bartender that helped me the previous evening and he made me my Old Fashioned. Once again it was stellar. We danced for a little while and I went to get another drink. I was curious if I was going to have the same experience as I had next door so I asked the bartender if he knew what a Negroni was. He kind of chuckled and said "of course". That made me laugh too and I told him I was I was happy he did, and ordered a beer and a shot! I Will be coming to Sacramento on business quite often and I can tell you that I will not be gracing this establishment ever again, but I will explore the other bars around town... and hopefully have a good Negroni or two! read more
