What a cozy spot in midtown with plenty of outdoor seating. Everything on the menu grabbed my attention. I went with the shrimp & grits and was heavenly pleased. The grits were cooked to perfection and so were the shrimps. The chives and bacon crumbles were a nice finishing touch. The staff were accommodating and attentive. There are stairs leading into the facility.

The good: the service! I usually order the Avocado Toast, the plate is good for the price. I have tried some other plates on the menu, with some inconsistencies. I would say it's a friendly environment with plenty of parking space, which it's always a plus for Downtown.

Cute lil diner, reminds me of a train car. Plenty of parking outside. Friendly staff. I ordered a side French toast for 4.50 and it came with 4 pieces and sliced strawberries. My niece had the side pancake which comes with 2 for 4.50! Food was delish, made to order. Also had the cheesy grits which were thick but tasty. Overall I recommend this place for brunch. I'll have to come back and try their lunch/ dinner menu. Oh BTW they have brunch cocktails also until 3!

We were driving by on our way to another brunch spot and loved the diner vibe so decided to give it a go and glad we did. The service was great but the food was next level. We split the Salmon Omelette and a side of waffles. The salmon was seasoned-not dry and the rest of the omelette had delicious onions, bell peppers and cheese and was topped with Avacado. The potatoes were slightly crunchy and seasoned well. We also enjoyed the waffles and the butter was top notch. This is a cute hidden gem and I'm glad we found it!

Came here for Father's Day brunch and this was a cute diner. I love the feel of the old school diner and the service was great! We were greeted immediately and were seated immediately. The waiter was attentive and the menu options were plenty. Our food came out hot and tasty. I would absolutely return when in the area. The diner may seem small but there is outside seating as well. Parking can be limited but we had no issues finding a spot.

Came here for lunch with some friends on a week day. It was a bit sad how dead it was since a lot of people work from home now. After browsing the rather extensive menu, I ordered the mahi mahi salad which is served on a bed of greens with jicama added. Asked the waitress for some shredded cheese because I love cheese in a salad, which the server happily obliged. The mahi was cooked very well, and the lemon vinaigrette complimented the salad nicely. It was a bummer to see how dead it was during lunch, but I'm not terribly surprised given the new norm of working from home that has affected this area's businesses.

The place is located next to around the corner and across the street from the graffiti warehouse. Upon entry you will notice the menu plastered along the wall. You walk up to the counter, place your order , and then are given a number. I got the chicken and waffle with a side of bacon and eggs. The food was great and the place was quiet. A nice stop for a brunch on the weekend.

The food here is amazing, and the staff is equally impressive! Sena and the Manager, Thomas, provide exceptional hospitality and service. I highly recommend this place to friends and family.

Food 10/10 (I got the chicken chipotle meal). Vibes are immaculate, good music and friendly staff. Will be back for sure, super cool spot

Peeps. You know I don't do bad reviews. I'll just say this. Here is what they call a $25 Salmon Kale Cesar Salad. In fact it is a bland, dry piece of salmon on top of a handful of Kale and two small containers of store bought Cesar salad dressing. Proceed with caution.

We had some business to take care of in downtown so walked over to this restaurant for lunch today. Patty Melt - 3/5 - I ordered the patty melt and my wife ordered the Kobe burger. Both pretty much tasted the same. The bread was too thick and not the traditional rye. The steak fried were just okay as well. Kobe Burger - 3/5 - Just ok. No vegetables at all to speak of (other than grilled onions). Again, thought the bun was too thick for size of hamburger patty and other fillings. My wife "upgraded" to the truffle parmesan fries. Seemed like just the regular fries with a few drops of truffle oil and parmesan cheese powder sprinkled on top. Pancakes - 4/5 - Surprisingly the best dish of the meal which my daughter ordered. Food flavor, fluffy and perfectly cooked.

Honestly I would have never picked District 7 to eat but that's what happens when I put someone else (non-yelper) in charge to pick the place when I'm down for whatever. Typical diner look and feel, I mean unsuspecting cool spot but not bourgie enough for me...I'd pass right by it. That being said the service was really good, they greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. I chose a table outside and didn't wait long for service. I ordered a frozen peach bellini large, but really I didn't think it was that big so idk what the regular looks like. The taste was good. My companion ordered the bloody mary, I think she liked that nasty a-- drink enough lol how do ppl drink this! Lol For entrees we ordered from the lite bites menu which are just smaller portions of selected regular menu offerings. I went with the paella. There's a bit of a wait for this dish but I was surprised it tasted fairly well. Not the best I've had but added a bit of Tabasco and I jived with it. It was raining so we stayed longer and after that half portion of food, I was still hungry so we ordered a side of steak fries. Came out super hot and fresh! Our server was pretty good, not overbearing but she did stay away a touch too long sometimes. Also, she properly dealt with another table that was complaining about the temp of their food so kudos to her. My likeliness to return ain't that high, even though a couple of those pasta dishes looks fiyah, but it's a cool spot.

There were 2 servers that were assisting with the table. Both very nice and got our orders correct. I had to split the bill in a weird way and they followed instructions well. The restaurant is always nice and clean including the restroom. The restaurant has a lunch option for 2 items for $25. What a steal! I got the wedge salad because I love the smothered blue cheese dressing. I got the mahi mahi tacos. Tacos were a good lighter choice. I didn't realize that it came with fries. All delicious options and so many options for even the pickiest eaters. Always a good choice for a nicer lunch.

Service: not great, we had a manager start off as our server but she was awkward in a "not socially aware" way (ex. she kept saying our server had to use the bathroom, even when our server came to the the table and looked so embarrassed; she also told me my non-alcoholic drink order would not taste good without knowing it's what I drink at home), rushed us (every time she said she would give us a moment she'd come RIGHT back to the table within seconds) Our actual server started off rocky as well, perhaps wasn't having a good day and she was visibly annoyed with the manager. She was short and blank with us until she realized we're very nice lol and by the end, her tone and energy had completely shifted for the better. The foreign object: about 2/3 of the way through the meal, I bit into a small piece of blue plastic. Did not know if it was in the fish or the mac and cheese, but I was devastated because I was almost finished eating but couldn't due to paranoia. Our server handled it swiftly and the manager came and let us know it was take off the bill and offered free dessert. Overall, not bad and the food was good enough to where I would go back and give them another try in the future.

We have never had a single day of bad service here so we have become regulars anytime we travel into the inner loop of Houston for business or fun. The flavors? I wasn't too impressed the first time, and this visit certainly confirmed my initial thoughts. For La Lucha's Happy Hour, you get a choice between 2 types of oysters ($1.50 each). These were great - do this on a weekday before 6pm and you should be able to grab a table without a reservation. Barely even after we started eating the oysters, the waitress was already asking if we wanted to order more, instead of allowing us to just enjoy our food without interruptions. The menus they gave at our table were inconsistent and had different menu items. I had to ask for clarification if the redfish was on the menu since it wasn't on two of the three menus given to us. So, quality control was a miss. Rest of the menu... is limited. Everything was so greasy, from the fried chicken, the redfish, and shrimp tacos. * Red fish with pecans - 6/10. The fish did not taste like it was seasoned with salt. It was well cooked, not dry at all, but it lacked any sort of seasoning aside from the butter and pecans on top. * Shrimp Tacos - 4/10. I think I prefer Taco Bell over this one. The shell was greasy, not crisp (felt like it was stale), and I was confused with the combination of American Cheese and shrimp. They also added hot sauce or spicy salsa in the tacos - so a warning if you can't handle spice (not mentioned on the menu). * Half Fried Chicken - 5/10. The chicken was moist. Been here once before and it was quite dry, so I'm glad this was cooked well. You get 2 thighs, a wing, and a drumstick (4pc). Again, there was a lack of any seasoning on the chicken itself & the exterior. Sadly, the sauce that we picked was not the best either - oyster mayo. It would've been nice to try the others, but the half order came with one sauce. The seasonal jam that was available was the peach jam. It went well with the biscuits (half order comes with 2 biscuits, any extra is $1.50). For my people who get cold in restaurants, I would recommend bringing a light jacket since they turn the A/C up.

I might have just found one of my new favorite restaurants in Houston. What a great experience!…read more Recently, a good friend dined here and immediately called me to tell me how great it was. She then text our friends group and said we all had to come together and we did just that. She made reservations in advance as this place is popular thanks to recent Michelin Bib Gourmand awards as well as many other accolades. Walk ins are welcome as well. Our reservation was later in the evening so after a night of bar hopping, we ride shared in which I think is one of the best options as parking is limited here or you have to find street parking in the neighborhood. This place is literally a house turned into a restaurant. Inside is just multiple rooms with a couple of tables. It makes for a unique, intimate dining experience, perfect for a date night. In our case, we were a group of nine so we got patio seating. The patio is spacious and well kept, and if the weather cooperates, a great place to hang. One thing that really stood out to me is the amazing ambience of this place. I was told that the bartenders pick the music for the night from the owners extensive vinyl collection. Once the album is in, they play it in it's entirety. The sound system was systeming and on top of the great company and food, we were totally vibing with the music. Customer service was amazing. Every staff member we came across was so friendly, especially our server. The menu here changes. There are some mainstays, but they like to change things up. Their website shows current menus daily. We were told that family style is the best way to experience this restaurant. I am one of those people that will always listen to the staff and go with their suggestions. Our group went through quite a bit of their menu from apps, entrees and desserts. I loved that our server and staff brought our food out one by one in what they thought was the best progression so we could take a culinary journey. We started off light with their popular Dilly Bread. Best bread I've had in awhile. Next was the Texas Tartare. It was my first ever tartare and it was delicious. We then moved on to Fingerlingin Good which was a crispy potato dish with chili crisp and mascarpone. It was potatoes elevated to the highest level and so so good. Next up was Beer Battered Sweet Tots. I didn't think sweet potatoes could be that good. Our first entree was a vegan dish called the Carroty Kid. I could seriously become a vegan if all dishes tasted like this. It was curried. A bowl of jasmine rice would've made it a complete meal. Next we tried another famous Nobie's dish called Nonno's Pasta. Handmade, perfectly cooked tagliatelle with a delicious bolognese. I wouldn't share this next time. Ok, I will, but it was that good. On to the heavier dishes. First up was the Jamon With Your Bad Self. This came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. It was favorite heavy entree. It was high quality, iberico pork steak with shaved brussels and all kinds of other tasty ingredients that when combined made such a tasty bite. We then went to the sea with the Drops of Grouperter. It was good, but not something I would order again. It was a little too smoky for my liking. Our biggest dish that came market priced was the Kick His Ass Seabass. This was a whole fish that was presented beautifully on a platter with all the accouterments to make your own elevated fish tacos. We left no morsel of fish behind. It was absolutely delicious. One of the things this place is really known for is their pies. This was the part I was most excited about. Just like their menu, their pies change up. We got all their offerings that night which they presented on one big platter of goodness. Their main stay and I believe always on the menu is the famous Olive Oil Cake. It's not a pie, but I can see why this is such a popular dessert. I can't even describe it, you just have to try it to understand. The pies we had were the Black Bottom Strawberry Pie, Banana Rum, and the Peanut Butter Pie. I would order all of them again. We all had a difference of opinion on which was the best, but my fave was the Banana Rum. Overall, I was highly impressed with this place and kind of mad at myself for waiting so long to make it here. It had made it's way to the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Houston. I will be back.

Had a 5:30pm resy, seated outside right away that Saturday evening--it was a full house 45 minutes later. You'd be a fool to skip the dilly bread--a complete fool! The rolls are pillowy and warm. I could eat the butter by the pint. The fingerlinging potato dish is also a must have...pretty small for $19 but tastes like heaven. Spicy! Zaddy was being a bit of a clutz that evening and knocked over my $20 mezcal cocktail, so what does he do? Orders me another one! (That's why he's "zaddy") ....kind of wish he hadn't...so wasn't worth the price tag. Skip it. The chicken dinner was definitely the winner--fresh, juicy breast, crispy skin...don't be cute, you won't finish it unless your party has at least 4 in it! The flies were ruthless! Very annoying! They were acting like the geekers that come bother you just outside your favorite fried chicken joint in south Dallas! Our waitress brought out a table fan so that made the experience a little more tolerable. The fried chicken was well balanced, good brine and a crispy delicate batter. The bread with butter and jam was also quite decent. And prices were not too jaw breaking for an upscale brunch experience. Would definitely come back again!

Seems to be a martini place but I had a Manhattan and really enjoyed it, it was a strong drink but very tasty. The kampachi crudo was very light but also flavorful with fun textures from the toppings. The mussels on bread were savory and buttery, really liked the addition of the large beans. The pappardelle with the wide noodles was so fun and there was lots of parm which I liked, and the lemon zest was a nice touch. The squash was soft and I loved the ricotta. The campanelle was really unique with the crawfish and the spicy sauce, the noodle shape was so fun. The cheeseburger is tiny but mighty, super juicy and cheesy. The fries were perfectly crispy. Mango sorbet was packed full of mango flavor! Really enjoyed this spot, can't believe it took me so long to get here. Probably best to get a reservation. Small parking lot available.

I can't believe it. It's been 10 years since I reviewed Grace's. I've probably been here 35 or 40…read moretimes since then. I bring family and friends here all the time along with business partners. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston, Texas. You will experience the best food and the best service here every single time! Today was the first time I decided to get some food to go. Bradley was an absolute professional. While I was leaving, Johnny Carrabba came out and talked to me for a second. What a nice guy. Full of natural charisma. Reminds me of an old wise guy from casino or Goodfellas. We had a great conversation. I told him how my grandmother was born in Bryan Texas in 1927. He told me about his family that migrated there in 1905. He also mentioned his family had a store on Canal Street. I had no idea. An exceptional person, a legend in the restaurant industry here in Houston, Texas. It was great to meet you today Johnny. Thank you for your professionalism and hospitality and also thank you for serving some of the best food in Houston, Texas! Food: as you can see from all my pictures of the food is simply amazing. The best cornbread in the world. The best pot roast. The best sticky ribs. The best desserts. Everything here is phenomenal. Lunch dinner brunch you cannot go wrong. It was an absolute pleasure to meet Bradley and Johnny today I've been coming to this location for years and I will continue to come and support this restaurant.

The main highlight was the 5 star service by Eric! He's enough to make me want to go back! I'll definitely ask for him every time! 2nd highlight is that cornbread because whew...bussin. Pair it with the collard greens and that's a five-star combo all day. I was undecided on what to order, so I went with the cajun stuffed chicken exactly as it comes, along with mac & cheese and collard greens. The meal wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either. The chicken, I'd probably skip next time, I took most to go and it went bad cause I couldn't do it. Mac wasn't anything to write home about either but again, them greens and cornbread are absolutely getting reordered. My friend ordered the key lime pie and enjoyed it, so that seemed to be another solid choice. But back to the real MVP of the visit which was our server, Eric. He made menu suggestions without being pushy, kept my glass full the entire meal, was kind, patient, and anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask. That level of service is becoming harder to find, and it definitely elevated the experience. Overall, the food landed somewhere in the middle for me, but Eric's service easily pushed this visit to four stars. I'll definitely be back...mainly for that cornbread lol.

Found this spot near our hotel with good food options and with another bar full and couldn't accommodate us. I made reservations here. Super chill spot to watch the soccer games. We watched the Argentina vs Cape Verde game here at a high top table in the bar area. This place had a chill World Cup vibes if you don't want a loud crowd like the previous bar we were at. We enjoyed our beers. With their sunset happy hour appz. So yummy and our waiter was great! Super friendly staff. Super accommodating. And the biscuits are delicious! With a planned night of drinking in front of us we ordered the cheeseburger eggrolls! Oh wow. So so good. Perfect thing to split. We also split the truffle fries! Another wow! And I ordered the burger beef sliders. They needed to be dressed up some more with condiments but otherwise they hit the spot to coat the stomach.

Back to the steak. I am very particular about my filets I prefer it medium Pittsburgh style. The chef here got it perfectly! It was so tender on the inside and crispy one outside, I devoured it. For sides I ordered truffle mash potato and Mac & cheese. I couldn't find a truffle in my mash tasted very regular. Besides that I enjoyed my meal. My husband loved his Ruben as it's his favorite here too.
