It was my first time at District 7, and all I could say was "WOW." The ambiance is upbeat; you have multiple seating options, indoor and out, and it's both contemporary and relaxing. I call this "fine dining in comfortable shoes." We started with the kale, spinach, and artichoke dip that was amazing and some fries that were some of the best I've ever had for an appetizer. The bartender makes a great martini, and our waiter made sure we got the advantage of their (excellent) happy hour prices. For an entree, I had the Osso Bucco that I can't stop raving about. This restaurant is a hidden gem (literally.) I found it on yelp and it had good reviews and delicious pictures. AND my mom likes bright restaurants with open concepts. I will get to the "hidden" part shortly. I need to talk about the delicious food first. We started with the crawfish hush puppies. The dip accompaniment was sweet and spicy!!! My mom had the salmon and it was cooked just right. Not overcooked at all. I had the seafood paella and it was perfectly spicy and the rice had great "chew" and mouth feel. The seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection. Our server was attentive and very sweet. The reason I say this is a hidden gem is because although the address says memorial drive it is actually off of a side street. I spoke with (I believe) the owner or general manager when we were done with lunch. When I told her I would tell my friends about this great place, she thanked me because she said they don't have much street exposure and they are not allowed to put up a marquis or sign on memorial. So if you want to try this little gem, here's some tips to get there. The restaurant is on the first floor of a tall glass building. If you are heading east on memorial, you will pass Cafe Benedicte (another great restaurant) and take the first right possible. I think the street is called Mayde Creek. District 7 is located on the right hand side. They have a walk up bar and outdoor seating and an area where you can play corn hole. I will be back!!! read more

I had never been here but used to order from their locations in Midtown. The food was great. I don't know why, but at the other locations I always thought the food was going to be average, and they ALWAYS surprised me (in a good way). That happened again here! The only reason I am taking a star off is because the music was like dance club loud, and the space itself was loud to begin with, so it was amplified. Stopped by after a walk through Hershey park, needed a/c & a cold non alcoholic beverage. Waiter barely spoke English, seemed lost. I asked for a smoothie or non alcoholic fruity drink. Had the potential to be good. Food was ok but service made it a bad experience. I was given an eye roll when I asked to sit at a table rather than the bar in the 90% empty restaurant. The part of the food that was hot was good, the other half the food came out cold, refrigerator level cold. My waiter never checked on me after delivering the food and all the others ignored me when I tried to flag them down. They were all in the kitchen busy chatting with each other and comparing their tip money. Diner tonight started nicely on the terrasse of District 7 with a drink. The terrasse is nice and we had no mosquitoes. 2 of us took Mahi-mahi Picata. The fish portion was quite large with few linguine and some spinach, not a large side serving overall. The focus was clearly on the Mahi-mahi but it was dry, mine was so dry I could not eat it. Nobody came to ask how the dish was and we were so busy chatting that i did not say anything. Fortunately the linguine were well cooked and the lemon dressing was tasty but it was not a memorable meal and I came back home hungry. read more

We had 6:30 reservations. The place is lovely, we enjoyed our appetizers. There was only 1 other table filed at the time. We ordered our food, an hours later we hadn't received it. Our waiter to,d us twice that our food was ready and would be right out. But all the other tables that were now filled were done. Apparently they were eating our food. My friends and I decided to treat ourselves to an afternoon out. We had previously visited District 7 and had great experiences with a waiter by the name of Cesar. (Unfortunately he wasn't in today.) But today we planned to get out from work early so we could enjoy a nice afternoon at this location and found we wasted our time and efforts to get anybody's attention. There were two Waitresses who failed to provide any type of service to us. One of them kept coming out to the table that was right in front of the door to chitchat with what looked to be friends or acquaintances of hers. And the other one kept going back-and-forth attending to three other patrons that arrived after we did. When we finally went inside to grab somebody else's attention, which just happened to be the bartender, he finally came out and wipe down our table and removed the previous parties Empty paper coffee cups. He proceeded by asking us if we wanted waters and menus and went inside. After waiting an additional 15 minutes apart from the 15 minutes we had already been there, at a dirty table, no one ever came with waters or menus or even any additional questions. At that point our vibe was completely ruined for this place and we left. And even as we left the waitress just stood there chit chatting with her friends without any concern to the potential customers that we're leaving. Unfortunately this has left a sour taste in our mouths. Maybe this place should have Cesar do the training. read more

My mother and I have become regulars here for their happy hour! Their food (especially pizzas, bruschetta, arancini, and creme brulee) is all really tasty and their drink deals are pretty good too! Never ever eat here. I was so excited about getting the brunch fried egg burger, but it was just thoroughly awful. The patty was burnt to a blackened shingle, and the fries were cold and mushy. The egg tasted like it had been microwaved on high for 20 minutes. And on top of it all, the service was among the worst I've ever experienced. They spotted me through the pick up window several times and just walked on by. I finally felt compelled to bang on the glass before they gave me the time of day. Wow what a few weeks can change a restaurant!! There is no exhaust from the kitchen so it's smoky inside. They keep the door open and the windows over the bar. It doesn't help my clothes stunk after we left. They burned the pizza on my to go order. Thanks for that once I got it home for my husband that was fun!! Anyway I had to send back my salmon as they burned the veggies on the bottom hid it from me until I bit in. Come on really they knew they burned it and thought they could hide it under the rice?? Drinks were expensive depending on who rings them up. There are no prices on the drInk menu so I guess it's up for grabs anywhere from $7.00 to $15.00 not in happy hour depending on the bartender. Please put prices on stuff especially happy hour. Sometimes the drinks and food rings up right but according to one waitress the computer doesn't always get it right!! What, it should be an easy program not rocket science. Will give them a bit to figure out how to vent the kitchen, program the register and put freaking prices on the drink menu. ItSnot fair to ask people to buy things witHout disclosing the price. AND you are not inside the loop here so get the drink prices under control and keep your good bartenders. I've been here three times, and the first two times were satisfactory, but this last time was a complete joke. I honestly think it was a waitresses' first day on Earth. My friends and I went there for brunch on Saturday and were the first people there. We were greeted upon arrival and decided to sit out on the patio, which was nice. Our waitress however was less help than a ten year old would've been. When she asked for our drink orders, I asked if we could have a pitcher of water, she pulled out her phone and said yeah I can get you one right now. We laughed and thought she was making a poor attempt at a joke, but she never brought us out a pitcher of water, so I legitimately think she thought I asked for a picture of water. The next time she came to our table, she had sooo much energy, it seemed like she just went and did a line of coke in the back. That's an exaggeration, but she was definitely like a different person, maybe another waiter had told her we were talking about her and she was trying to improve. But still, we asked her a pretty basic question about the menu and she admitted she didn't know and said she was a terrible waiter. We asked her if she could ask in the back, and she followed through with that and we got our answer. We asked her a few more questions aboUt the mEnu and she completely bullshitted us on her answers. Like we asked her what was in the fruit cup and she said those orange melons (cantaloupe lol), strawberries, pears, apple, etc. and when we got it, it was literally just cantaloupe, honeydew, and pineapple. She left to give us more time to look at the menu and said that if we needed her, just to do a little dance, like a shimmy and she would come out lol. As server, you definitely should just be able to look at your table and see if they are still looking at their menu or if they are ready to order. But anyways, we did this dance and she still did not come out for the dance. And then when we ordered, my friend ordered a side of fruit and grits, and when she went to write it down, she said fruit and DICK! Now, we might not have noticed that's what she said, or she could've just pretended like nothing happened and moved on. But she gasped and covered her mouth and asked us not to tell her manager. Definitely the funniest experience I've had at a restaurant, in a bad way. She also forgot to ask us how we wanted our eggs cooked and had to come backk to ask us that. We got our food and it was all correct, it was subpar. Looked pretty, but was definitely lacking in flavor. I think this is a good place to come for drinnks and maybe a pizzaa, but I absolutely will never come here for brunch again. read more
