The salt-and-pepper soft-shell crab was fabulous, and the P1 Pho was full of flavor and very satisfying. Raymond is truly a gem--personable, welcoming, and a pleasure to interact with. Francisco was our waiter and did a really nice job taking care of us. Great service makes such a difference! Good food, good company, and a restaurant we'll definitely be coming back to! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only area that needs attention is the restrooms. In the men's restroom, one of the toilets had a continual flush and the water faucet was not working. Returned to this lovely spot again on Saturday evening. It is about my fourth or maybe fifth time at this jewel. Not only is the food in my case marrow, steamed dumplings and Cha Gio simply wonderful in both flavor and in the manner that it is cooked, but it is excellently served by very friendly and capable, waiters and waitresses, who truthfully add a dimension to this fine establishment not to mention, of course, that the bartender himself comes out and asks if there is anything he can change for you in the drink that will make it more to your liking, which in my case was to change an old-fashioned from a Bullit Rye to a Sazerac. I met up with Lupe M. and Jason D. for weekday lunch since my office is nearby! Good time catching up with friends in the middle of the week. We arrived right at noon and the place was packed. We took the last table, a high-top, otherwise the bar was the only seating remaining. The place was bustling and lively and beautiful decorated throughout the interior. They have a lunch menu in which you can get a regular size pho + spring rolls or egg rolls, banh mi + spring rolls or egg rolls, or vermicelli + egg roll. I folklores Lupe's lead and ordered off the regular menu since there were so many choices on there that looked really good. I ordered the black pepper steak and upgraded to egg fried rice for an extra $2. Our server mentioned that it was his favorite dish, score! The plate came out beautifully - cubed steak similar to shaking beef, stir fried with onions, mushrooms, garlic, and zucchini. The zucchini was an interesting add but probably their fusion twist. The beef was so tender and went well with the veggies and sauce, which I soaked up with the fried rice! I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee (ca phe sua da). This was really strong and gave me the extra boost I needed to make it through the rest of the workday. At $6, price was a little high, but it was generously served in a large glass. I will say prices are a bit steep: $22 for black pepper steak + $2 fried rice upgrade = $24 lunch before tax & tip. Logically charging oil & gas prices being located in the Energy Corridor. Resilience has a wide array of choices for Vietnamese food, and I'm glad to have found a solid Viet option near the office. Thanks Lupe for the recommendation! My family and I visited Resilience on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't too busy. Parking was easy, the location is convenient, and the restaurant was very clean. The service was excellent--staff were super attentive and helpful. While the food wasn't extraordinary, it was still enjoyable. I ordered their version of bo ne (C.24 sizzling plate), and it was good! The pâté tasted slightly off, but overall the dish was satisfying. I really wanted to like this place because I love the vibe and their drink menu, but my bf and I left feeling pretty disappointed. Service was good, drinks were decent, and parts of the dishes were delicious, but the entrees also had parts that were completely bland. It could've been a fluke, but it changed my mind in wanting to come back to try other menu items. Afterwards, I saw other reviews mention proteins being bland in their dishes, so it doesn't seem super rare. Thankfully, the proteins in our dishes were flavorful, it was the fried rice and veggies that had no flavor. Not sure what's going on in the kitchen. Are some people cooking veggies and others doing the meat, so the seasonings don't match up? Or did the person who cooked our dishes not know that veggies and fried rice need seasoning and flavor? It's unfortunate because the good parts of the dishes were really good. I guess you could ask for salt and just salt anything that comes out bland, but you really shouldn't have to. This isn't that important, but they have little lamps on all the tables, and ours must've been dying, because it was strobing and very distracting, so I turned it off. When a staff member would pass by, they'd turn it back on. After they walked away, I would then turn it off because I didn't want to say anything about it. They figured out it was dying and switched it out...with another dying, strobing lamp lol we had to go through 3 lamps in our hour-long dinner. FIRECRACKER SHRIMP: This was good, but basic. Nothing special. My bf ordered it thinking it was the saucy, spicy kind, like the name would suggest (he didn't see the pic on the menu), and was disappointed when these came out. "Why is it called firecracker?" He said lol I don't understand why it's called that either, because it's not that exciting of a dish. "Shrimp Egg Roll" or something would be more appropriate. BEEF UDON: The beef was really tender and flavorful. The noodles were delicious, more firm than soft. The veggies were completely bland. They didn't season them at all. Like not even a little bit of salt. I don't understand how that could've happened, but it really brought the dish down when it could've been amazing. BLACK PEPPER STEAK: The beef was so tender and flavorful, but the fried rice and veggies had no flavor. How was the fried rice bland?? It costs extra because it's supposed to be better than white rice, but we basically paid extra for white rice disguised as fried rice. This dish was already overpriced if it came out perfect. The fact that 2/3 of the dish was bland is unacceptable. XO PINEAPPLE CALAMARI: This was fine, not great. It was pretty mild, not super flavorful. Thankfully, not as bland as the veggies and fried rice, but definitely not worth $21. It was also not calamari. This should've been called a squid dish. Technically, "calamari" is Italian for squid, but this is a viet restaurant and this wasn't a traditional calamari dish. It was hard to tell what the dish looked like from the tiny pic, but after getting it, I wouldn't call it calamari. It felt like they named it that to make it sound more appealing than just a squid dish. Also, there wasn't that much squid in it. There were huge chunks of tomato and pineapple filling the plate to hide the fact that there wasn't that much squid. It's definitely overpriced for what it is. Loved the pineapple though (more than the squid). It wasn't too sweet or tart. DRAGON'S TAIL: It's good. You can taste the bourbon and smell the smoke while you drink. You don't taste the smoke though. The bitters do make it a little tart. DAN'S OLD FASHIONED: It tastes like bourbon, didn't really taste much else. I definitely didn't taste the pho spice infused syrup, which was disappointing, but it was a good standard bourbon drink. read more

I had lunch here today. You can tell the restaurant is new. It's very nicely done, dark colors, modern and chic, and very clean. The decor and ambiance are absolutely 5/5. The service was very good as well. I had their lunch special, a large bowl of pho and 1/2 order of spring rolls (you can opt for eggrolls or dumplings as well). In keeping with the decor, the food comes out very well presented. Shrimp Rolls - 5/5. Simple but nicely executed. Everything was fresh and light. The peanut sauce was very good as well. Pho (Brisket & Steak) - 4/5. The meat was flavorful and everything was presented very well. My only "knock" on the dish was that the broth needed a bit more seasoning (the tables don't have their own salt/pepper shakers or any condiments and I didn't want to ask for salt), and the broth did not have that rich depth of flavor that you mind with some pho broths that have been boiled for a long time. Still good and I would have again. They have a big menu and I would look forward to eating here again and trying new things. If I just wanted a bowl of pho, I may find better hole-in-the-wall alternatives. What I've tried here... * Firecracker Shrimp -- Hot, fresh & crispy. Good shareable small plate. * HH Oysters -- 1/2 dozen. Baked with garlic butter or bone marrow style. Both really good and tasty. * Hot Wings -- Fried Chicken wings with a simple fish sauce, lime and garlic marinade. Sweet, tangy & savory. * Salad with Grilled Meat -- Fresh mixed green salad, tomato, cucumber & carrot with a nice and light house vinaigrette dressing. I've tried the grilled pork slices with the signature Vietnamese fish sauce marinade, as well as the Lemongrass Beef. Both are excellent. The pork and beef were both quite tender and flavorful. I especially like lemongrass spice, so the beef would be my first choice. If you aren't on a low glycemic diet like me, you would probably also enjoy the selection of grilled meats with rice, rice vermicelli, or Toasted French bread options ;) * Pho Noodle Soup -- Very authentic and flavorful rice noodle soup dishes with a nice selection of meats, chicken, vegetables or tofu. Nice tasty broth. * Featured Special: Vietnamese Freshwater Prawns in Roe Sauce -- Super fresh freshwater Prawns in an umami, lip smacking sauce. Wow! We tried their grilled pork spring rolls, and the shaking beef, crispy shrimp, and grilled pork vermicelli bowl family style. Their grilled pork rolls are solid. The mains were good; the crispy shrimp was probably the weakest dish out of what we ordered. The shaking beef was very tender and the veggies also were cooked well. There was a bit of extra oomph missing from the dish (more salt and an acidic element) but it was solid nonetheless. The vermicelli bowl wasn't the best I've had but I have no complaints. The best thing about this place was the bartender. He seemed to truly care about service and ensuring that guests have a great experience. t've been here twice and both times the food was hit or miss. My "fried" tofu came out limp, oily and soggy with a bland watery dipping sauce. Clearly they hadn't patted the tofu dry before putting it in oil that wasn't hot enough. My salad had undercooked chicken "cutlets" laying on a bed of wet, wilting greens due to the inexplicably warm, watery soy dressing. Strangely, even though the chicken pieces were large "cutlets", we were given no knife. Apart from the bartender/manager, the service staff appeared to have never waited on a table in their lives. Last night, our waitress could not tell us the names of any their white wines by the glass. She seemed unfamiliar with the menu and disappeared half way through dinner so we had to flag down another server for knives and thai sweet chili sauce. Located across my hair salon to that's convenient for me. In corner of shopping center, behind Sylvia's, would have never spotted this had I not seen it on Yelp. Cute restaurant, not the type of Pho restaurant I go on rainy days in my sweats, tad more upscale. Helpful and friendly staff. Food was good but nothing that blew my taste buds away but we still enjoyed everything. Pho was good, I didn't like the fact that they brought me a small sauce plate of hoisin, I rather have it on my table and not have to keep asking for more. Lamb chops were well seasoned, tender and yummy. Salad dressing was fail and need more of it. It would be nice to have an additional small side to it as well. Egg rolls were good, average. Garlic shrimp had no taste of garlic and no taste in general, bland but yet somehow were still ok. But don't order if you're a garlic lover. It was good enough for return trips, to try other items. ***One major gripe though, why doesn't menu have any description of menu item. WOW, this spot exceeded my expectations. The service was beyond excellent & the food was very good. My friend and I came for lunch on a Friday & it wasn't busy. Before I get to the food, I want to say that the decor is beautiful & they have a nice bar area as well. We decided to order their lunch special, the Pho & Banh mi comes with either egg rolls, spring rolls or dumplings (great deal $12.50-$14.00). Here's what we've ordered. * Thai tea- I got this as a complementary drink when checking into Yelp. It was great, maybe a little bit on the sweeter side but tasted fresh & refreshing. 4.5/5 * Chicken dumplings- lightly fried & not too greasy. Good filling on the inside. The sauce was gingerly. 4/5 * Egg-rolls- Standard in my opinion but tasted fresh & right out of the fryer. The fish sauce needed more oomph but it wasn't bad. 3.5/5 * Hot wings- cooked to perfection with a nice bite to it. The coloring on the wings were beautiful. The only issue is that the flavor profile was just alright/decent. It needed more seasoning & spice. I say keep this as your speciality but amp it up with some more flavor. Then maybe give us some options on different sauce flavors. Like for example. Lemon pepper, buffalo or even fish sauce wings. But that's just my input. 3.3/5 * Banh Mi Ga Nuong (Grilled chicken sandwich)- Pretty textbook made sandwich. The chicken was grilled nicely & it was not dry. I wish they would've gave us some soy sauce. 4.1/5 * Steak & Brisket Pho- loved it. The broth was savory & had a lot of depth to it. I didn't need any Sriracha or hoisin sauce to spice it up. It was good as is. The meat was tender and not chewy. 4.5/5 Our two servers Vivian & I didn't catch the other server name, were the most awesome people I've met. Great service & not annoying to where they're hovering over you while you're eating. Vivian who is related to the owner told me their broth is kind of inspire by pho binh. Which I've been to them numerous of times & for the most part it's pretty good. I enjoy the broth because it's clean & they didn't go overboard with MSG. Overall, this place is a great spot for lunch or if you want to take someone on a date. I feel like they deserve all the recognition & I wish them nothing but success, I hope this place last for a long time. Will I come back? I'm already planning on going back in two weeks. read more

I've had friends rave about this place and finally found an excuse to swing by for lunch recently. It's a solid choice if you're in the area looking for quality modern Vietnamese. They have all the popular menu choices if you're craving Viet staples, plus a few off the beaten path options. If you like it spicy, they will comply but watch out if you talk a big heat game! The interior is very clean, well lit, and looks relatively newbuild shiny. No hung ceilings, sketchy stains, or dusty art on the walls. Service was friendly, and they took time to help us navigate our options. The food came out in short order, and everyone was happy with their dishes. Overall great place if you're in the Energy Corridor and looking for quality Vietnamese at a clean and friendly spot. read more
