I have had the donuts and I think they're fine. They're not my cup of tea, but they're fine. The biscuit sandwiches are also delicious. I haven't had any coffee drinks, but the matcha latte is good. They used to have a "matchado" which was just a matcha version of a cortado, and I was sad to see that it was no longer on the menu. I tried to order it anyway once, and the cashier said the barista was gone and he had no idea what I was talking about... But anyway, what I really love is the "best little house salad." I know that's crazy, but it really is the BEST house salad I've ever had. Contains mixed greens, goat cheese, almonds, donut croutons (!) and some kind of magical vinaigrette. I have paid the delivery fee just to have Uber bring me this salad because I was craving it. That's how good it is. When I go here, I like to get an order of fries and a house salad. This place have some of the best sliders. I enjoyed the "Brown Bag Special" You choose two sliders and it's served with waffle fries. I selected the burger and chicken slider. Both sliders were freshly prepared. The chick slider was a medallion size chicken breast topped with coleslaw and jalapeño. The burger slider was topped with green leaf lettuce, tomato and homemade pickles. The crispy texture of the pickles were perfect. I love the fountain beverage options. Not only is the food amazing and the coffee some of the best ever, but the customer service is impeccable. Anyone who knows me knows I rave about the cold brew coffee here as the absolute best, that's because it undeniably is. I love the wide variety of craft donuts and the sliders that are so well thought out you wouldn't want to change a thing about them. They have even branched out to include king cakes to the menu during Carnival season. I'm so happy that District has expanded and now has 4 locations to serve the masses. The thing I love more than all that I have already stated is their customer service. Even though they have grown so much, and could easily dismiss a complaint of a stale king cake they did nothing of the sort. They went above and beyond to make sure they took care of me. Without a doubt, my favorite District Donuts location. Magazine is cool I guess, but Elmwood is not as packed, has a lot less going on, and parking is not an obstacle. Beyond that, staff is a lot nicer and chill. This time my girlfriend and I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll, which was suggested by staff. Growing up I was used to eating gas station cinnamon rolls. District's is warm, but the outer shell has a nice crunch so it's not like you're eating bread pudding. What really impressed me is that it's not overly sweet. Feel like most places lean towards the sweeter end to compensate for the lack of texture, if this wasn't District's objective with the level of sweetness I guess our palates align nicely. I've had some pretty jacked up cinnamon rolls in my time. As far as the coffee, they're consistent as always. I'm not a big fan of their donuts, I love their sliders. Their donuts are bready and dry, but hey try it out you actually might like it yourself. Don't let me stop you. As far as environment it's modern and hip, very clean and well lit, and they have some cool artwork painted on the walls. I'm returning to this District for sure. read more

I was doing my normal search through Yelp looking for something delicious. I thumbed past this a couple of times as I was looking for a brunch type place. I had know idea what this place was and wasn't really looking for donuts, but I was drawn in by the fact they looked like they had decent coffee. I did read the reviews and all were good, so I figured I would give them a shot. OMG! I am so glad I did! The fresh squeezed OJ was amazing, the Mocha latte was bold and smooth. And the donuts...FORGET ABOUT IT! They will knock your tastebud socks off! We had the milkshake donut and the blueberry cheesecake donut! Before we left we got a to go order. The cinnamon role, for a friend. When she bit into it the only thing she could say was F@€#! We took that as it was amazing! The happy dance that followed was also a good indication. I came here for the 1st time today. I ordered a buttermilk drop and a cinnamon sugar donut. Both donuts were pretty underwhelming. Not really a great flavor at all. The buttermilk drop really didn't have much flavor to it. I would try a different one if I go back. The Asian girl at the register was nice but not really helpful. Before she helped me, she was bragging to her coworkers about getting off in 2 hours. I stood there for a free minutes before she even offered to take my order. She seemed to want to chat with a coworker more than take my order. I don't remember her even saying thank you after she handed me the bag. My first DD experience and I must say I was duly impressed. My husband and I went to the Elmwood store for lunch after a morning movie. The atmosphere was fun and energetic. A young family was next to us. The toddler was eying my waffle fries, which could have been hotter thus the 4-star rating. I love my hot fries! We had one of each of the sliders each one better than the other. My favorite was the debris roast beef with a fried onion ring on top! I had always heard about the cinnamon roll. First time trying this place today. Sadly it will be our last. We each had two single sliders and got a waffle fry to split. I had a drink and the wife had a cup of water. While my sliders were medium well and edible the wife's were half rare (how does one cook only half a patty?) and she doesn't eat uncooked meat. For $20 this was a pricey lunch. I'm already a huge fan of District Donuts, so I'm ecstatic that there is now one open in Elmwood's shopping center. (The fact that it's now super close to work may or may not be a good thing lol). A huge pro is that there is ample parking at this location since I can see this becoming super crowded in the near future. The cheeseburger sliders had a "fishy" taste, as if they were cooked on the same grill surface as the blackened fish sliders. While eating one slider, I pulled a long, green string of something out of my mouth. Looked like it could be the "skin" that goes around a pickle slice, but it was very very long. It was almost plastic-y, like the rind that you pull off of an old-style baloney slice. That put me off the meal and when I went to spit out my final bite, something sharp scraped my tongue, like a bone fragment. Very unappetizing! The donuts were okay. Some of the flavor combinations would work better on a cake donut (i.e. the dirty chai almond donut) than a spongy donut. Nothing to rave about. I've been here many times and have yet to be let down. Definitely my favorite place in the area. I almost always get a cheeseburger slider with a fried egg on top. It's one of the best burger / sliders I've had from anywhere. This is something that must be tried! The filled donuts are great and I've really liked each one I've tried. I wouldn't recommend a typical glaze donut. Their donuts are huge and really thick which is great for filled, but non filled tends to feel like it's just too much dough. They have some really original custom made fillings that are out of this world. The only negative would be that it can be a bit pricey. This is offset by how delicious everything is. If your going to cost this much then it better be good and this case, it is. Ordering with someone else works great here because of how big the donuts and fries are. Grab 2 sliders each then split a donut and fries. It would cost around 20$ and you would both be pretty full. Staff is also great and food always comes out fairly quick considering none of it is cooked until you order. read more

This time visiting New Orleans, I was excited to get District Donuts again but I didn't really feel like traveling all the way into the city (especially on New Years Eve). This is such a fun little spot. It's quintessentially hipster from the music to the decorations and food. The donuts are rich in flavor, fancy, and rustic at the same time. Service is friendly and efficient but relaxed. Of course, it also smells amazing in here, and the open kitchen looks very clean and well-designed.
